The Song On Every Lil Wayne Album He’s Played Live The Most (And The Least)

Lil Wayne’s first album, Tha Block Is Hot, came out nearly 24 years ago. That means the New Orleans rap legend has been in the game longer than most of the current crop of hip-hop hitmakers has even been alive. When you consider the sheer number of songs that he’s released since then, it’s no wonder he’s admitted to Googling his own lyrics. It’s probably a lot to have to remember — especially when he spends so much time performing live.

With his Welcome To Tha Carter Tour kicking off next week, fans might be curious which of his songs he’s most likely to perform. With so much material to choose from, predicting what songs from which albums make onto his setlists seems like a herculean task — if not outright impossible — but we can look at what songs he’s been performing the most in the past to make some educated guesses. Fortunately, Setlist.fm has been keeping track of those. Here, we’ll take a look at which songs from Wayne’s albums are his most (and least) performed live, and perhaps by the end, we’ll have a better idea of which Weezy F. Baby faves he’ll play on tour.

Tha Block Is Hot

tha block is hot
Cash Money Records

Most played: “Tha Block Is Hot”
Least played: “Intro”

This one’s easy enough; Wayne really only plays two tracks from his 1999 debut. The title track is an obvious inclusion, given its one of the tracks that basically made his career. The album’s intro, which is merely a spoken word hype track featuring appearances from his Cash Money Records upperclassmen Mannie Fresh and Birdman, hasn’t found its way into too many of Wayne’s setlists which is unsurprising. “Tha Block Is Hot” has its fans, but it isn’t anywhere near one of his more popular tracks, however important it is to his overall growth.

Most played: “Get That Dough”
Least played: “Get That Dough”

Another early career benchmark for Weezy, “Get That Dough” has since been overshadowed by his voluminous output in the years after its releas.

Tha Carter

tha carter
Cash Money Records

Most played: “Go DJ”
Least played: “I Miss My Dawgs”

Tha Carter

is where Wayne’s career really started to take off and he began developing his reputation as one of the stronger lyricists and better hitmakers of the Cash Money roster. Second single “Go DJ” is a prime example of one of his early monster hits, and his first high-charting Billboard song, peaking at No. 14. It wound up being his most successful single until 2008’s “Lollipop.” Meanwhile, “I Miss My Dawgs” is a more heartfelt album cut, which explains why he rarely plays it.

Tha Carter II

tha carter ii
Cash Money Records

Most played: “Hustler Musik”
Least played: “Tha Mobb”

If the first entry in Wayne’s Tha Carter series was the starting point for his rapid ascent, the second was the straightaway that gave him the room to really open up the engine. It’s also notable for being the first time he called himself the “Best Rapper Alive” — which he set out to prove with fan-favorite hits like “Hustler Musik,” “Fireman,” and “Money On My Mind.” However, it was the straightforward lyrical delivery of “Tha Mobb” that first established what a motivated Lil Wayne could accomplish.

Tha Carter III

tha carter iii
Young Money Records

Most played: “A Milli”
Least played: “Tie My Hands”

In between Carters, Wayne went on an absolute rampage on mixtapes, dropping a truly unreal number of singles direct to blogs in the three years between that might go unmatched forever. That mixtape run culminated with “A Milli,” which Wayne’s signature hit to this day. Oddly enough, it was only his second-highest charting song, peaking at No. 6 on the Hot 100, but it was undeniable in the streets. For rap fans of multiple generations, it’s unofficially dozen-times diamond. While Setlist.fm has “Pussy Monster,” a mixtape track, as the least performed song from this album, that would actually be “Tie My Hands,” the moody recollection of Hurricane Katrina’s devastation in his hometown.

Rebirth

rebirth
Young Money Records

Most played: “Drop The World”
Least played: “Runnin”

Rebirth arrived at a time Lil Wayne appeared to be finding himself musically, leading to lukewarm reviews and a sense that Wayne needed reinvention less than he needed to refocus on what worked. Still, it was the album that spawned “Drop The World,” his lauded collaboration with Eminem. The song wisely stayed away from the stilted rap-rock that defined the rest of the project, which explains why it still has enough heat to make it into his setlists.

I Am Not A Human Being

i am not a human being
Young Money Records

Most played: “Right Above It”
Least played: “With You”

Wayne’s next album helped him bounce back, even as he did a stint in prison for illegal gun possession. Fortunately, this was right around the time Drake joined the Young Money roster, giving it an added boost thanks to the popularity of Wayne’s protege, who also appeared on the album’s highest-charting single. The two rappers often bring the best out of each other, so it likely helps that this fact produced one of Wayne’s stronger verses that stands up well on its own when Drake can’t perform with him.

Tha Carter IV

tha carter iv
Young Money Records

Most played: “6 Foot 7 Foot”
Least played: “President Carter”

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. “6 Foot 7 Foot” is best known as a kind of “A Milli” redux, but that doesn’t stop it from being one of Wayne’s more memorable tracks from the second half of his career. While it doesn’t reach the lyrical heights of “A Milli,” it does stand out as a high point of Wayne’s discography — it doesn’t hurt that it peaked at No. 9 on the Hot 100. Meanwhile, “President Carter” has made sparing appearances at his shows, but probably never was sticky enough to stay in rotation.

I Am Not A Human Being II

i am not a human being ii
Young Money Records

Most played: “Rich As F*ck”
Least played: “God Bless Amerika”

The third and final single from Wayne’s 2013 album peaked at No. 38 on the Hot 100, courtesy of a beat by T-Minus and Nikhil Seetharam — frequent Drake collaborators — and an appearance by 2 Chainz. This was likely the origin of the two rappers’ creative chemistry, which later led to the release of a full joint album, Collegrove, three years later — and teases of a second installment, due for release later this year. Expect to see this one in any joint tours that may spawn from this release.

FWA

free weezy album
Young Money Records

Most played: “I’m That N****”
Least played: “Thinking Bout You”

FWA, or the so-called Free Weezy Album, occupies an interesting space in Wayne’s catalog. Released exclusively on Tidal in 2015, it was meant to commemorate Wayne’s break from Birdman’s Cash Money imprint, but since his contract was apparently effectively still in limbo at the time, no singles were released and little to no promotion was done on the album’s behalf. It was eventually released to Apple and Spotify on its five-year anniversary but with a number of tracks removed or changed over clearance issues. It shouldn’t be any surprise Wayne barely performs it.

Tha Carter V

tha carter v
Young Money Records

Most played: “Uproar”
Least played: “Used 2”

Wayne’s first proper release after leaving Cash Money was fittingly a return to the series that stamped his “GOAT” status and its “Special Delivery”-sampling hit “Uproar” helped to once again elevate Weezy to hitmaker status. Landing at No. 7 on the Hot 100 and earning double platinum certification, “Uproar” proved that the turbulent time spent hashing out his legal issues hadn’t dulled Wayne’s pen skills (so much as you can call them that with Wayne’s method of punching in freestyles) at all.

Funeral

funeral
Young Money Records

Most played: “Dreams”
Least played: “Dreams”

Given Funeral, Wayne’s most recently released album, dropped just ahead of a global pandemic shutting down live entertainment for two years, it’s probably fine that he hasn’t really had any opportunities to showcase any of the tracks from it. He may well do so on his upcoming tour. (He’s also got no fewer than three projects in the works at the moment, so he could bypass Funeral altogether to preview those as well).

Here are Wayne’s most-played songs live, according to Setlist.fm:

1. “A Milli”
2. “Lollipop”
3. “Mrs. Officer”
4. “I’m Goin’ In”
5. “Go DJ”
6. “Steady Mobbin’”
7. “6 Foot 7 Foot”
8. “Got Money”
9. “John”
10. “Drop The World”

Going down the list, it’s pretty clear that Tha Carter III remains Wayne’s favorite album to perform, while Rebirth joints like “Drop The World” and “John” appeal to a broad audience (I will withhold judgment). And, of course, a Drake song is definitely going to show up. Wayne’s got an utterly massive (and growing) catalog, though, so nothing should come as a surprise when he hits the stage.

Here’s Everything We Know So Far About Mac Miller And Madlib’s Album

It’s been nearly five years since the tragic death of Mac Miller. The estate of the late rapper has worked hard to manage the requests from his fans for more works featuring Miller while uploading his legacy. Whether through the release of unreleased footage, uploading past projects to streaming, launching a grant program in his honor, or on the flipside denouncing unauthorized works, Miller’s estate has remained very active.

The estate’s latest approval has fans jumping for joy. Legendary producer Madlib and Mac Miller’s collaborative project Maclib will finally see the light of day. During Madlib’s appearance on Sway In The Morning, the musician revealed that the estate had finally approved its release.

Although Madlib didn’t share much about the project during the interview, he’s what we do know. Mac Miller and Madlib began working on the project sometime before Mac’s 2018 death. When host Sway asked Madlib about the project, calling it Maclib, the producer did not correct the name of the project. So, it is safe to assume the name has not yet changed. Also, during the interview, Madlib discussed that there were are few other projects he’s working on, so Maclib, could drop Maclib after those are done. A formal release date was not given, but during the chat, he didn’t rule out the project being released before the year’s end.

Madlib has previewed different parts of the project at his shows, but he has made it clear that it may not be a full-length project but rather he EP because of how much original material was recorded.

Mac Miller is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Kendrick Perkins Takes Shot At Charles Barkley

Kendrick Perkins has never been a stranger to making a headline. Perkins is well known for his outspoken personality. However, on today’s edition of ESPN’s First Take, Perkins went after another outspoken media member. Perkins called out Charles Barkley for his recent comments on the legacy of Kevin Durant. Durant has recently mentioned that his legacy doesn’t matter to him. However, Durant has had issues with Barkley in the past for statements he has made.

When talking about Durant’s legacy, Perkins mentioned “ringless” former players disrespecting champions. Perkins went on to further name-drop the former players he was speaking on. Barkley has long discussed his disdain for players building super teams. Obviously, when talking on that subject, Barkley mentions Durant. The Phoenix star has been the topic of super teams, with his tenure in Golden State and Brooklyn. Just how far did Perkins go when discussing Durant’s legacy? Check out the video below.

Kendrick Perkins Has Had Enough Of Barkley’s Disrespect

Durant has mentioned in recent interviews how whatever decisions he makes never pleases the fans. However, joining super teams is never a good way to state your case. But Kendrick Perkins is on Durant’s side. The former Boston Celtic believes those without rings don’t feel the pressure of a champion. The conversation wasn’t pointed solely at Barkley. However, Perkins was sure to give him some shine during the conversation. A conversation between these two would make for must-see television.

Conversations about a player’s legacy are important to fans and the media. Contrarily they shouldn’t be happening until the said player has retired. Durant’s legacy is not finished. It seems difficult for someone to speak on a legacy while a career is still in progress. One thing is for sure, Barkley will have no issue with answering Perkins’ statement. What are your thoughts on Perkins; statement? Should ringless players sit out of the conversations? Or do any Hall-of-Famers have the right to speak on the game? Let us know in the comment section below what your thoughts are. To stay up to date with the latest sports news, stay locked in with HNHH.

6ix9ine Shares Dramatic New Song “Bori” With The Help Of Lenier

In case you haven’t noticed, 6ix9ine has been in the news quite a bit. Overall, this is not for the best reasons. Just a few weeks ago, the rapper was beaten up at an LA Fitness in Miami. Subsequently, he was clowned on the internet, while his attackers escaped the scene. Eventually, the artist decided that it would be best to go on a trip to Cuba. In the midst of this trip, 6ix9ine got some semblance of justice as three of his alleged attackers were arrested and brought up on charges.

While in Cuba, 6ix9ine has actually been teasing some new music. In various Instagram videos, it appeared as though the rapper was gaining some steam. He has some dedicated fans left, and they wanted to see which direction he would go. In the past, he has dabbled in Latin music. With the rise of Bad Bunny and others, Latin music is certainly on everyone’s radar, especially on the global stage. Consequently, 6ix9ine has opted to go right back into that lane with his new song “Bori.”

6ix9ine Completely Changes His Sound

This new song features the likes of Latin singer Lenier. Moreover, the two dropped a music video for the song. As you will immediately see, this is a massive shift for 6ix9ine. Overall, this song has a knack for the dramatic. You get some huge drums, massive choruses, and a ton of passion and emotion coming out of 6ix9ine and Lenier’s vocals. While many fans are used to 6ix9ine screaming all over the beat, we now get a much different version of the artist. Furthermore, the music video showcases him in various Cuban communities, giving the locals money and swimming in the ravines.

If you hate 6ix9ine, this song will probably not sway you into liking him. However, if you don’t mind the rainbow-haired rapper, and love Latin music, then maybe this is for you. Let us know what you think of the song, down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from the music world.

Royce Da 5’9″ Drops Off His New Project “The Heaven Experience EP”

A lot of good music emerged out of Detroit in the past few years. Michigan, as a whole, had a strong grip on the sound of rap for the better part of the 2020s. However, in the past few weeks, a few legendary Detroit artists have come through with new music. Danny Brown teamed up with JPEGMAFIA for their new project, Scaring The Hoes Vol. 1. Now, Detroit heavy-weight Royce Da 5’9” is back in the fold with a brand new EP, The Heaven Experience.

Serving as an extension of his 2020 project,  The Heaven Experience EP has been unofficially dubbed the “lost sessions. The six-track project is a strong depiction of Royce’s lyrical brilliance as he shares unreleased cuts from last year’s The Heaven Experience. Royce dropped off “Signs” earlier this week in anticipation of the EP’s release. However, he also enlists assistance from Redman, who appears on “Royce & Reggie” and Courtney Bell and Traxx Sanders for “Ion Wanna.”

Royce Da 5’9” Shares Unreleased Cuts On New EP

Last year, Royce Da 5’9″ delivered his latest body of work, The Heaven Experience Vol. 1. The 15-song body of work was filled with a star-studded cast of collaborators, such as his Bad Meets Evil partner, Eminem, who opens the project up on “Rock City.” Additionally, Pusha T, Rick Ross, Black Thought, Big K.R.I.T., and more assisted Royce on the album.

In an announcement earlier this month, Royce revealed that The Heaven Experience: The Lost Sessions will include a virtual experience. Through the Heaven Experience pass, fans can gain access to exclusive releases, interviews, and more. “I have been searching for a better way to connect with my community for a while, but existing platforms haven’t lived up to my expectations,” the rapper said in a statement. “Passage delivers on all fronts.” Check out the latest project from Royce Da 5’9″ above.

Lupe Fiasco Named Fellow At Yale University

Lupe Fiasco is no stranger to academic honors. Last May, he was honored as an MLK Visiting Professor at MIT. Today, Lu was named a Saybrook Fellow at Yale University. This marks yet another position of prestige at one of the top schools in the world. The announcement of his new position came straight from the Saybrook Dean’s Twitter. “Prof. @LupeFiasco welcome to the Saybrook family!” he tweeted. Lu responded directly to the tweet to say how honored he was by the announcement. What this new position will entail in the day-to-day for the professor and rapper is unknown. Still, the announcement alone speaks volumes about Lu’s intellectual acumen.

Lupe Fiasco is a Chicago-born rapper, songwriter, and record producer. His debut album, Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor featured his socially conscious lyrics and creative production technique. It propelled him to fame in the mid-2000s. Frequently, Lu’s music explores political issues, social justice, and personal conflict. He is known by many for his razor-sharp lyricism and complicated rhyme schemes. Throughout his career, he has continued to release critically acclaimed albums. He also makes a habit of collaborating with a wide range of artists from different genres. He has had a long and storied tenure. His academic positions serve as further proof of his mastery of rap as an art form.

Learning With Lu

Last year, Lu took to Twitter to announce his MIT course. Anyone who has followed his career should not be surprised by his intellectual endeavors. Still, teaching a course at MIT is nothing to scoff at. About the announcement, Lu tweeted, “I been holding this for a while. I’ll put together something more sophisticated later that really captures the nuance and gravity but for now I’ll just say it straight and raw: I’m going to teach Rap at MIT.”

Last December, Professor Lu did just that. The rapper taught his first course at MIT, entitled “Rap, Theory, & Practice: An Introduction”. The class is an investigation of the basic purposes, structures, and principles of rap. Surprisingly, and to the delight of many up-and-coming artists, the class was made available to everyone via Youtube. This allows those who would not otherwise have access to his teachings a way to learn from the master himself. It is yet another philanthropic move from Lu that proves he is for the people, no matter how many prestigious titles he is given.

Anthony Rendon Grabs By The Collar During Tense Exchange: Watch

Issues with heckling fans seem to be spilling over to every sport. Recently, the NBA has had to deal with the issue. As Chris Boucher and Bradley Beal have dealt with recent fan altercations. Now baseball is the sport at the forefront. Angels star Anthony Rendon was seen on video grabbing a fan after the team’s game on Thursday. Thursday marked Opening Day for the MLB. A day that is normally celebrated by fans around the world. However, for one Athletics fan, he may think twice before heckling another player.

Rendon can be heard in the video saying, “You called me a b**ch, huh?” Whereas the fan looks frightened by the entire exchange. However, the fan did seem to instigate the reaction from Rendon. As the start of the video shows the fan walking directly over to the star. Whatever the case may be, Rendon looked to take a swipe at the fan before leaving the heated exchange. Check out the clip below.

Anthony Rendon Seemingly Takes Shot At Fan

We can only speculate what else was said to start the exchange. Although one thing is for certain, leagues must start policing fans more often. It seems like a daily occurrence that a fan believes they’re more important than the game. Including fans rushing the field for 15 seconds of lame fame. Clout chasers have realized they can get more than they bargain for by being hecklers. Unfortunately, one of these situations will go too far, and we will be telling a different story.

Neither side can claim they are right in this situation. Heckling is wrong, and laying your hands on a fan is wrong. However, it is easier for me to say these things while not being a part of the situation. The temperature between obnoxious fans and athletes is reaching a boiling point. What can leagues like the MLB do to police situations like this? Should Rendon face a fine for putting his hands on a fan? Let us know your opinions on the topic in the comment section below. For the latest news in sports, be sure to follow HNHH.
