L.A.-Based V Scripts Is Ready To Light Up The Summer With “Tick Tick”

With a surge in music from West Coast artists, V Scripts is keeping his momentum high as he prepares for the release of his forthcoming album. The L.A.-based MC has been dishing out some impeccable records as of late that have shown his versatility. Some, like “Swimming With Piranhas,” have showcased more of his melody-ridden flows while others, like “Deliverance,” allow him to delve into socially conscious bars over hard-hitting production.

However, his latest record, “Tick Tick” is one that’s worth listening to with the volume loud and the windows down. Produced by No. 30, V Scripts unloads a brand new banger alongside frequent collaborator, Zoe Morese. Together, they form the duo Renegade Hip Hop. With its icy production and aggressive percussion, V Scripts and Zoe Morese’s chemistry breed an anthemic bop to carry you through the months ahead. More importantly, it’s a taste of what V Scripts has in store on his forthcoming album, Electric Blue. The project is due out later this year.

V Scripts prides himself on his lyricism but records like “Tick Tick” prove how easily he can move from sound to sound, style to style. Marking his sixth record of 2024, it follows the release of the aforementioned “Swimming With Piranhas” and “Deliverance,” along with “Peace Of Mind” ft. KovuSoul and the politically-charged, “Every President Lied” – an appropriate record to revisit following Thursday night’s debate. Check out V Scripts new single below and keep your eyes peeled for more information on Electric Blue.

Cardi B Fans Look For New Album Clues In Her BET Experience Performance

Cardi B has fans foaming at the mouth for her new album, and her latest live performance at BET‘s Experience event last night (Friday, June 28) is adding fuel to that fire. Moreover, many die-hards looked for clues that she allegedly said would be in this show concerning her next LP, and they reached a couple of interesting conclusions. The big topic of conversation online seems to be the Bronx femcee’s jersey with the number “11” on it, which many admirers took to be the main clue of focus. Might this suggest a November release date, the title, the 11th day of a particular month, or something we don’t even understand yet?

Regardless, this is far from the first time that fans have interpreted signals in this fashion in their search for information on the new album. For example, Cardi B’s recent Princess Diana tribute also sparked rumors about the long-awaited project, although there wasn’t much to go by this time around. Of course, there’s a strong likelihood that this is all deliberate, just building up pieces of hype to inspire more engagement. But it’s also possible that these hints will become much more clear and understandable in hindsight.

Cardi B’s BET Experience Performance: See Replies For Fans’ Sleuthing For New Album Hints

However, Cardi B’s high horse these days based on this excitement received some attempted blowback from another top contender: Nicki Minaj. This is due to Bardi’s recent acceptance speech at Hollywood Unlocked‘s Impact Awards positioning herself as the leader. “Hi so let’s get into this right now,” Nicki tweeted shortly after this speech went viral. “I’m that Btch. That’s Number 1. Number 2. Revisit number one. If it means you gotta revisit that s**t 500 times a day, DO IT!!!!!!!! Before you EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Think bout playing pon MY BOMBOROSCLOT HEADTOP!!!!!”

Meanwhile, these Impact Awards also prompted pregnancy rumors amid Cardi B’s turbulent relationship with Offset. Obviously, those are just a part of the rumor mill, so take that with a grain of salt. Either way, there are a lot of reasons to continue to invest in this new album cycle. Hopefully, we get more hints and updates in the near future that are a bit more concrete.

The Fugees Are Reportedly Working On A New Album

There are not many hip-hop collectives that you can rank above the Fugees. Even with their short run as a group, the amount of creative talent between Wyclef Jean, Pras Mitchell, and Ms. Lauryn Hill is nearly unmatched. They left an indelible mark on the community through the effortless blending of other genres while also being lyrically sound. The Score is recognized as an essential 1990s record, but also a must-listen for any fan of rap. They laid down so many great tracks like “Killing Me Softly With His Song”, “Ready or Not”, and “Fu-Gee-La”. Now, it seems the Fugees are looking to craft more unforgettable tracks, as they are reportedly working on a new album.

According to an undisclosed source with Page Six, the three-headed monster is ready to make a comeback after 28 years. Following their unfortunate split, Hill, Jean, and Pras all went on to forge their own paths. Only one of them extended beyond the 90s decade, and the other two dropped just one record in 1998. But as of late the Fugees have been performing more frequently under their stage name.

According to Hollywood Unlocked, it was around this time last year that they performed at the Roots Picnic in Philadelphia. Additionally, the Fugees made appearances at the Global Citizen’s Festival in Central Park and then the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, later that same year. Now, pretty soon, Hill and the gang are going to be hitting the stage on 21 separate occasions. In August, the tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Miseducation is restarting after Hill was forced to cancel her run last year due to a serious vocal strain. Her and the guys will be traveling across the United States as well as Europe. May be that will be the time they record some new music together?

What are your thoughts on The Fugees reportedly working on a new album? How soon do you think this will drop and why? Where do you rank them all time in terms of rap groups? Should it be a project with no features, or should they include some? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding the Fugees. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.

SOURCE SPORTS: Minority Baseball Prospects’ Ty Wyche Set To Even Out Opportunities On The Field For Black And Brown Players

Screenshot 2024 06 28 at 11.53.50 PM

Regardless of the sport or field of expertise that anyone decides to pursue, in order to advance and thrive in that said field, must first be recognized for their talents by those who make executive decisions before any sort level up can occur. In any professional level sport, getting seen by scouts and coaches while among the amateur ranks seems likes a million to one shot, especially for Black baseball players. Black players make up less than 10% on the baseball diamond on the professional level, while their basketball and football counterparts are an overwhelming 80% of professional rosters.

Enter into the world of Minority Baseball Prospects’ Creative Director and VP Tyrone Wyche. The Atlanta native started the mission of magnifying a focus on Black and Brown baseball players along with his brother Alex during the pandemic, when national baseball showcases broadcasted white players while all but shunning minority players who boasted better stats in tougher leagues. There is no doubt that Black players have made unprecedented history in baseball, but with baseball being predominately white since its inception in 1890, back when Black players were totally excluded from competing on a professional level, Black baseball players’ opportunities to gain national exposure are not even comparable to their white counterparts. Also, the racism faced by Black players in the early 20th century that forced them to create the Negro Leagues are the same hurdles that have now forced people like Wyche into a niche to properly expose Black baseball prospects.

Minority Baseball Prospects and its sister organization, Minority Softball Prospects, have literally spread over half of the country and have produced unparalleled results. MBP is currently facilitating events and showcases in 26 states, have showcased 565 collegiate signees including 2024 NCAA D1 Collegiate Champions Tennessee Vols’ Christian Moore, Kavares Tears and Ariel Antigua, 47 MLB Draft Picks including Pittsburgh Pirates’ Temarr Johnson, Arizona Diamondbacks Druw Jones, Reds’ 2022 1st Round Draft Pick Cam Collier, Padres’ 2023 1st Round Draft Pick Dillon Head, Yankees 2023 1st Round Draft Pick George Lombard Jr., Rangers’ 2022 5th Round Draft Pick Chandler Pollard and hundreds of HBCU All-American and All-American Game Black players.

In this exclusive interview with TheSource.com, this Black baseball executive speaks about the importance of having showcases and tournaments exclusively for Black and Brown baseball players and his plans to expand the Minority Prospects umbrella into other sports.

Wyche stated his purpose for establishing MBP: “At the end of the day, me and my brother felt like this void needed to be filled…it’s never been talked about. So for us, it just felt like the right timing. It showed us that it really needed to be done because it happened so fast…we did it for the passion. We didn’t do it for the money. We did it for the representation.”

MC Lyte Thinks Sexyy Red Gets Too Much Hate For Her Lewd Music

Sexyy Red’s superstardom rose alongside a lot of criticism over her raunchy content and presentation, which has sadly never been an uncommon reaction to femcees. One of the most legendary female rappers of all time, MC Lyte, recently reflected on this history during an interview with The Neighborhood Talk at BET‘s Media House ahead of their awards show this Sunday (June 30). However, it’s important to note that her comments on the St. Louis MC don’t really seek to answer the question of whether or not this should be an approach that women in hip-hop continue to engage with. Rather, it calls out double standards and a lack of historical context and knowledge that leads to unjust vilification.

“Nothing that we see is really new,” MC Lyte’s remarks on Sexyy Red began. “And so, you know, we’ve all lived through the advent of ‘My Neck, My Back.’ Trina, Kim, Foxy… You know, so we lived that. So nothing surprises us, I don’t think. As an artist, as a creator, everyone’s always pushing the limits and the boundaries. But also, she didn’t pop out of a planet. She came from a neighborhood where this is how they speak to one another, this is how they communicate. And so this is definitely art imitating life. I think it’s important for people to know that it appears to me that she’s being herself. Whenever you’re being yourself, how can anybody argue with that?”

MC Lyte’s Thoughts On Sexyy Red

Of course, we know that MC Lyte herself isn’t immune to lewd and controversial content. In fact, her comments about age gaps back in the day probably would get much more flack today than anything that Sexyy Red is doing in particular. But context is everything, and time heals all -– well, most wounds. Who knows how folks would’ve reacted to “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad)” back in 1991?

Meanwhile, MC Lyte also came to the defense of other rappers like LL Cool J and even President Joe Biden when it comes to their public perception. When Biden called LL “boy,” it sparked a debate around the connotations of the word. Like a lot of other people online, Lyte didn’t find it to be a big deal and instead opted for empathy and forgiveness. We’ll see how this Sexyy Red take ages in comparison.

Bronny James Wearing “9” To Honor Juice WRLD Lebron Reveals

Bronny James’ path to landing on the Los Angeles Lakers via the 2024 NBA Draft is not as easy as some are making it out to be. Obviously, his dad played a fairly substantial role in helping him make his dream a reality. But the USC product had to still put in all of the work to train, learn the game, eat right, and etc. to get noticed to begin with. Fans are also quick to forget that he dealt with a major roadblock before his collegiate career even got underway. While training, the guard went into cardiac arrest, and it was a pretty scary moment for him and his family.

He never let that deter him and instead absorbed all the noise and now he can say what many people cannot, “I’m an NBA player”. All of this adversity is why Bronny James is wearing number “9” this season, as he is paying respect to the late rap legend, Juice WRLD. LeBron revealed this according to a Shade Room IG repost. It was revealed a while back that the 19-year-old got “999” tattooed behind his ear. For those unfamiliar, Juice WRLD essentially gave that three-digit number meaning by including it in every part of his life. According to Genius, the Chicago icon also tweeted back in 2018 about its significance.

“I took the hell I was going through (666) and flipped it over into something positive (999)”. Bronny James is certainly not going to stop hearing people talk down on him when he hits the NBA hardwood. Like LeBron, he is going to be under a microscope for everything he does. Bronny is already enduring “hell” in that regard, but he looks to be ready for the challenge. If Juice WRLD were here, there is no question he would be proud of the young star.

What are your thoughts on Bronny James wearing number nine for the late Juice WRLD? Did you know the meaning the rapper gave “999”? How do you think his career in the NBA will pan out? What kind of player do you think he will resemble the most? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Bronny James. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the worlds of sports and music.

Diddy Day Dropped in Miami by the City’s Commission

Sean 'Diddy' Combs Rebrands Combs Enterprises to Combs Global as Business Portfolio Expands

Miami has cut “Sean Diddy Combs Day” in Miami. According to The Miami Herald, the axe of the annual celebration was called by the Miami Beach Commission.

This past Wednesday, a resolution was passed stating, “upon reflection, the Mayor and City Commission have determined that recognizing October 13, 2016, as ‘Sean Diddy Combs Day’ is no longer in harmony with the City’s values of safety, community well-being, and respect, and wish to rescind the proclamation.”

Additionally, it looks like Diddy has resolved his legal battle with Sean John LLC and GBG USA Inc., the former owners of his clothing company.

Remember Sean John? At one point, the brand was running the streetwear world.

According to various news outlets, Diddy has voluntarily dropped his $60 million lawsuit against these entities after reaching an agreement.

The dispute began in 2021 when Diddy sued the company for continuing to use his likeness and image after he sold 90 percent of his stake in 2016.

The conflict arose because Diddy felt the new owners misused his image in their marketing campaigns.

Bet, they aren’t using his likeness anymore. But we can’t confirm how Sean John is handling the brand nowadays.

Sean Combs created Sean John in the 1990s, and the brand quickly became a powerhouse by 2001.

This lawsuit dismissal is a recent development in a series of legal issues for Diddy.

He faces ongoing allegations of sex trafficking and fallout from the disturbing and infamous video related to the claims was released.
