Although Carti has released five singles over the past couple of months, he has yet to release the album. Ultimately, this has fans aggravated. To make matters worse, he made a mockery out of Adin Ross on stream Sunday night. This has subsequently led to a litany of bad PR. That said, Carti is an artist whose whole mystique is predicated on not caring, and remaining in the shadows.
Recently, however, Carti found himself in Los Angeles, in the studio with Kanye West. Ye is going to be dropping Vultures Volume 1 on Friday, and fans are excited to hear it. Carti is supposed to be featured on the album, and there could be a few more songs between the two, coming down the pipeline. After his studio session last night, Carti was photographed coming out of the office. The images ended up going viral, mostly due to Carti’s unique attire.
Fans immediately began commenting on the outfit, and the reviews were not particularly flattering. People accused Carti of wearing a thong, although it seems like it is more of a bodysuit than anything else. Either way, Carti’s fits have been going viral as of late, and some are not amused with these fashion statements. As you will see below, some fans are claiming that this is having an effect on his aura, whatever that means. At the end of the day, we just want a new album. Whether or not it ever comes, remains to be seen.

Eric Adams has responded to 50 Cent’s recent criticism of New York City’s new $53 million pilot program aimed at aiding migrant families. Speaking at a City Hall press conference, Adams told the rapper to hit him up and he’d be down to explain the program.
“First to Fitty, I have not had one birthday that I have not played his music,” Adams said. “So I told 50 Cent to hit me up. I would love to explain it to him so that he can go out and do another tweet of saying, ‘you know what, Eric is just a smart manager, and now we understand why he was elected by the people of the city of New York.’” He further joked: “Maybe he’ll write a song about me.”

As for the pilot program, it will provide 500 families with pre-paid credit cards that work at bodegas, grocery stores, supermarkets, and convenience stores. The amount on the card varies by size, but the New York Post reports a family of four would get $35 per day for food. 50 shared the report on Instagram, last week, suggesting that Donald Trump could be the “answer” in 2024. “WTF mayor Adams call my phone, I don’t understand how this works somebody explain,” the rapper wrote. “Can’t explain this I’m stuck maybe TRUMP is the answer.”

Lil Durk had reason to celebrate this past weekend after nabbing his first-ever GRAMMY Award. The Chicago, Illinois MC has been in the game for many years at this point. But, he was not able to nab that iconic trophy; until Sunday, February 4. Durk got to walk up onstage and thank the fans and everyone involved for winning Best Melodic Rap Performance. “All My Life” featuring J. Cole beat out some stiff competition.
The other nominees were Burna Boy and 21 Savage’s “Sittin’ on Top of the World,” Doja Cat’s “Attention,” Drake and 21 Savage for “Spin Bout U,” and SZA with “Low.” On top of the recognition, Durk has also been doing his thing in 2024. He laid down a great verse on 21’s new album american dream on the track “dangerous” with Metro Boomin. Now, Lil Durk will be hitting the road in the coming days.
According to AllHipHop and Drake’s Instagram, he will be giving fans the “most T’d show of your life.” Drake and J. Cole are currently on their It’s All A Blur – Big As The What?Tour. It got going in Denver back in late January and Durk will be making appearances very soon. Outside of this announcement from The Boy, we do not know the fine details. There are some shows where Cole is not there, so Durk could be the fill-in. But, it would be cool if he shows up for every show.

From the start of their relationship in the early 2010s, till their eventual split, they had the attention of the public. Now, a while after they parted ways, their post-breakup relationship continues to make waves. Things are also particularly interesting because Young Thug has been dating R&B singer Mariah The Scientist since 2021. Nonetheless, fans are now speculating that the rapper is still holding on to pieces of his time with Karlae.
A recent leak of his jail call footage revealed an old loved up photo of Young Thug and Karlae on the rapper’s wall. Following this discovery, fans have been in a frenzy over the photo, and coming up with several theories. While we can neither confirm nor deny any of those speculations, we can fill you in on the shared history between Young Thug and Jerrika Karlae. Here’s a timeline of their relationship.
2013: Young Thug And Jerrika Karlae Meet And Start Dating
It was sometime in 2013 that the two first crossed paths. Being that they were both already in the entertainment industry, it’s no surprise that they met in a studio. During a session at Gucci Mane’s studio, Karlae, accompanied by her mother, met Young Thug for the first time. Speaking to FADER in 2016, Karlae shared that she shrugged off Young Thug’s initial advances. “I was like, ‘you’re a rapper and I already know what that’s about,’” she said.
While they didn’t hit things off on that first meeting, they soon became friends. Subsequently, as Young Thug began showing interest in Karlae and her businesses, she began to soften up toward him. Soon after, they officially started dating. “He’s not only so into himself, he’s so into me and he’s really seeing potential in me,” she told FADER.
2015: The Couple Gets Engaged
Following almost two years of a blissful relationship, Young Thug asked Karlae to marry him. Up until then, their relationship had been drama-free, at least from the perspective of the public. The two seemed to be locked in and deeply in love, so when rumors of an engagement first surfaced, it didn’t surprise anyone. While the exact date of their engagement is unknown, reports claim it happened sometime in April 2015. The pair did not immediately tie the knot after their engagement. However, in the months that followed, they seemed to be more in love than ever before. For example, in multiple now-deleted Instagram posts, they shared several PDA-filled photos. While there were likely some low points in their relationship over time, their dirty laundry never made it to the public.
2017: Young Thug And Jerrika Karlae Break Up
In late 2017, to the surprise of fans, Jerrika Karlae broke up with Young Thug. Up until then, their relationship had seemed to be almost perfect, so nobody saw a breakup coming. However, Karlae’s decision to end things was a result of Young Thug’s infidelity. On October 4, 2017, the YSL rapper shared on her X account, “I’m definitely back on the market tho.”
Afterward, some drama ensued, with Thug quoting her in a now-deleted tweet of his own, writing, “What market? B*tch u goin d*e OnGod.” Subsequently, in November, the two had another bout of interactions on the platform. It seemed like Young Thug was remorseful, and wanted another chance with Karlae. However, soon after, the “Worth It” rapper claimed that his account was hacked, and deleted the pleading tweets.
2018 – 2020: Reunion And Final Breakup

Following a messy breakup in 2017, the pair seemingly began mending their relationship in 2018. While there was no official statement from either rapper, they shared pictures featuring each other on Instagram. Many months later, in December 2020, Jerrika Karlae went on a rant on X that many connected to Young Thug. On December 27, 2021, she posted, “single 2021,” a cryptic message that fans speculated was about her relationship with Thugger. Among other tweets, she also wrote, “Why misuse and abuse something or someone, why not leave them be! That’s some narcissistic sh*t. You behind the scenes painting pictures of me, like ima f**ked up individual…when you the devil”
2021 – Present: Moving On And Maintaining A Platonic Relationship
Subsequently, Young Thug denied the allegations, claiming that he had been single for two years at the time. His claim made fans reassess, and conclude that maybe Karlae was, in fact, not speaking about Young Thug. Therefore, it remains unclear when exactly they ended things, or if they ever even officially got back together after the breakup in 2017. However, it’s clear that they have not been romantically involved since 2021 because Thugger began dating Mariah The Scientist that year.
Since Young Thug was incarcerated, Karlae seems to have communicated with him a few times. During an interview on The Progress Report in June 2022, she revealed that she had spoken to Thugger. In addition, she shared, “He’s doing good. He’s in great spirits. I feel like this is just a moment for him to learn a lot of lessons.” While they are no longer a couple, the two seem to be in a good place platonically. However, the photo in Thugger’s leaked video has certainly raised some eyebrows.
Patrick Mahomes Sr. found himself in some trouble over the weekend. According to TMZ, the father of the Kansas City Chiefs superstar was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. The arrest went down in Texas after Mahomes Sr. was caught driving slow in traffic. He reportedly had expired tags, which is what led to the stop in the first place. However, once cops found him to be a bit intoxicated, they issued a field sobriety test and then arrested him.
This is the third time has been arrested for such an offense, which means he could be hit with a 10-year prison sentence. Despite all of this, he will be allowed to go to the Super Bowl in Las Vegas this weekend. Now, in a new update from TMZ, some more details were revealed. Essentially, Mahomes Sr. had an open can of beer in his center console. Furthermore, he had admitted to having a few beers at a bar earlier in the evening.

This is not a good situation for the Chiefs and Mahomes to be in ahead of the Super Bowl. At the end of the day, Mahomes is looking to win his third Super Bowl, and now, his father has left him with a distraction. Whether or not he can compartmentalize this, remains to be seen. However, if anyone can do it, it would be Patrick Mahomes.

Vultures is headed to Chicago. Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign have announced a listening party for the album at Chicago’s United Center. The listening party is set for a night before the official release of Volume 1 of the album.
Ye and Ty Dolla $ign has the first volume of Vultures loaded for Feb. 9. According to the NFR Podcast, the release will have features from Chris Brown, Future, Young Thug, Lil Durk, Freddie Gibbs, Quavo, Charlie Wilson, YG and more.
Last month, Ye released the trailer for he and Ty Dolla $ign’s forthcoming music video, “Vultures,” featuring Bump J and Lil Durk.
Drake is currently trending on Twitter right now and the reason has nothing to do with his music. Overall, it is actually quite embarrassing. However, some might not agree with that statement. Essentially, a video of Drake doing stuff to himself has leaked online. This has subsequently led to people commenting on the size of his private parts. It is not the greatest scandal to have happen to you, especially since it is an invasion of privacy. As it stands, it is unclear how this even leaked in the first place.
Regardless, lots of people have been taking to the internet to give their thoughts on the situation. One of those people was Adin Ross, who was streaming while the photo leaked online. This led to Ross texting Drake via voice message. Ross told Drizzy that he is extremely blessed and that he has a “missile.” It was a vulgar text but it seemed to amuse Drake, who hit Ross back while he was streaming. The text seemingly confirmed that the video is, in fact, him. He sent Ross a bevy of laughing emojis and was completely unbothered.

Ross found it amusing that Drake would text him back so quickly amid all of the ruckus. Either way, Drizzy doesn’t seem to be too bothered by any of this. In fact, most people are speaking about him positively, which offsets some of the embarrassment, at least a little bit. As for the privacy invasion, Drake is going to have to find out who did this. Clearly, it was someone he either sent the video to, or someone who got the video from the person he sent it to. No matter what, OVO needs to put its best detectives on the case.

Playboi Carti is a mysterious individual and for some fans, this is extremely annoying and quite frankly, a bit taxing. Overall, Carti rarely gives updates on his music. Instead, he promises an album is coming and then it never comes. Moreover, he has released five singles recently, but none of them are on streaming. Furthermore, he has no album release date in sight, and fans are getting antsy. To make matters worse, he made a mocker of Adin Ross on Sunday night after the Grammys.
For those unaware, Carti was on Ross’ stream for all of 10 minutes. Ross paid Carti $1 million to show up and was going to pay him another $1 million afterward. However, Carti did not uphold his end of the bargain and got mad at Ross for not handing over more cash. In the aftermath of this, people were accusing Carti of taking advantage of Ross and his fans. It was not a good look, but now, it seems like a resolution is on the way. As Ross displays in the image below, he was on FaceTime with Carti yesterday.
Ross claims a second stream between the two is going to go down this week. However, it remains to be seen if that will actually happen. Fans in the comments section on Akademiks’ post are not convinced of this, at all. “y’all got over or under 20 words said by carti?” one person wrote. “He coming back for that other million,” someone else added. Needless to say, Carti has exhausted some of his goodwill here. However, if he ends up giving a concrete update on his album, that may very well change.
