Playboi Carti & Adin Ross Chop It Up On FaceTime After Streaming Fiasco And Fans Are Having None Of It

Playboi Carti is a mysterious individual and for some fans, this is extremely annoying and quite frankly, a bit taxing. Overall, Carti rarely gives updates on his music. Instead, he promises an album is coming and then it never comes. Moreover, he has released five singles recently, but none of them are on streaming. Furthermore, he has no album release date in sight, and fans are getting antsy. To make matters worse, he made a mocker of Adin Ross on Sunday night after the Grammys.

For those unaware, Carti was on Ross’ stream for all of 10 minutes. Ross paid Carti $1 million to show up and was going to pay him another $1 million afterward. However, Carti did not uphold his end of the bargain and got mad at Ross for not handing over more cash. In the aftermath of this, people were accusing Carti of taking advantage of Ross and his fans. It was not a good look, but now, it seems like a resolution is on the way. As Ross displays in the image below, he was on FaceTime with Carti yesterday.

Ross claims a second stream between the two is going to go down this week. However, it remains to be seen if that will actually happen. Fans in the comments section on Akademiks’ post are not convinced of this, at all. “y’all got over or under 20 words said by carti?” one person wrote. “He coming back for that other million,” someone else added. Needless to say, Carti has exhausted some of his goodwill here. However, if he ends up giving a concrete update on his album, that may very well change.

Given the vague and quick nature of this video, though, exactly what the Toronto superstar did here is a bit unclear. Was he really just calling to make sure his money went to the right people or did he do this big reveal where he called so he could see their reactions? Two of the most divisive artists in hip hop could be crossing paths soon. NBA Youngboy has been releasing music at an incredibly prolific pace in recent years. A big reason for that is the fact that he’s stuck under house arrest in Nevada. But that hasn’t stopped him from collaborating with some major names like Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, and The Kid LAROI. Now, 6ix9ine could be the newest rapper to join that list of collaborators.

6ix9ine is dealing with quite the predicament at the moment. He’s stuck in the Dominican Republic following a pair of arrests. The first came last year after an alleged assault happened in a recording studio. Video of the rapper’s fans mobbing both his arrest and release from jail made the rounds online. He was arrested again last month, this time for an alleged assault against the mother of his partner. He’s denied all the charges and was recently granted bond ahead of his trial. It’s currently unclear how long he might have to remain in the Dominican Republic. But while there he may be cooking up something new with NBA Youngboy.

6ix9ine And NBA Youngboy Discuss New Song

In a new clip making the rounds online, 6ix9ine is driving while also having a FaceTime discussion with Youngboy. It’s unclear when specifically the video was taken but in it they discuss the potential for a collaboration. 6ix9ine spends much of the second half of the video repeatedly describing himself as a “stand-up” guy seemingly to justify part of the collaboration.

Last month, 6ix9ine released his new mini-album BLACKBALLED. The project featured just 9 tracks and spans 20 minutes. It closes with “SHAKA LAKA” his controversial collaboration with Kodak Black. Stephen Jackson On FaceTime With B.G. After Prison Release

B.G. was recently released from prison, after spending over a decade behind bars. He served time for gun and witness tampering charges, and has to follow quite a few guidelines amid his release. For the next two years he’s on supervised release, and will have to undergo a treatment program for alcohol/ drugs. He also has to attend school in order to “better set him up for future employment,” and serve 400 hours of community service.

With that being said, it looks like the 43-year-old rapper is already headed back to music. “For the record, I just want n***as to know that my n***a official Cash Money — ain’t no cap in that,” Birdman said yesterday. “Ya heard me? Ain’t nobody he can ever sign with beside this sh*t. I’m bringing all this sh*t together. B.G. signed to Cash Money so y’all don’t got to hear it from nowhere else.” The Cash Money founder isn’t the only person he’s reconnected with since his release, however. Recently, the rapper was also spotted on a FaceTime call with former NBA player Stephen Jackson.

In the screenshot of the call, the two of them appear to be in good spirits. B.G. is seen sitting in his car while Jackson looks to be hanging out at home. It’s unclear what the duo could have been talking about during their call, however, fans are speculating in the comments section. Back in 2012, Jackson sung the praises of B.G. in an interview with ESPN, claiming that he was a major asset to his label. “Cash Money was a bigger threat when they had B.G., Juvenile, Turk and Wayne,” he explained. “Because all those guys can really rap, and they were real street guys with real credibility.“

The collaboration comes as The Weeknd recently announced that he plans to abandon his artist name. Speaking with W Magazine, he explained that he wants to return as Abel and would continue making music. “I’m going through a cathartic path right now,” he said. “It’s getting to a place and a time where I’m getting ready to close The Weeknd chapter. I’ll still make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as The Weeknd. But I still want to kill The Weeknd. And I will. Eventually. I’m definitely trying to shed that skin and be reborn. The album I’m working on now is probably my last hurrah as The Weeknd. This is something that I have to do. As The Weeknd, I’ve said everything I can say.”

The Weeknd stars in The Idol alongside Lily-Rose Depp. It’s Sam Levinson’s first series for HBO since creating Euphoria. The show has been plagued with behind-the-scenes controversy regarding chaotic scheduling, budgeting issues, and more.
