Jeezy Revealed That He Was Sexually Abused As A Child

In recent years, more and more of hip-hop’s vanguard artists, reaching the nostalgic memoir portion of their careers, have revealed that they confronted sexual abuse in their pasts. Common, Jim Jones, Kevin Gates, and more have come out with their realizations that they weren’t ready for some of the sexual encounters that were forced onto them in childhood and publicly reckoned with the effects that could have on their mature relationships.

Jeezy has added himself to that list, detailing how his trauma affected him in an hour-long interview with Nia Long about his new album, I Might Forgive… But I Don’t Forget. “I think the first [example of trauma] was being left with a babysitter that was a woman that was older than me,” he admits in the video, “And her, you know, touching me and doing things to me that don’t normally happen to kids… I was introduced to sex at a very young age.”

He also talks about his recent divorce from Jeannie Mai after the birth of their child together, saying, “I can tell you that this has not been an easy journey. I can tell you that I’m saddened. I can tell you that I’m disappointed. I can tell you that I’m uneasy, right? But, again, God has put me on a different path, and that path is going to entail for me to take care of myself and to love myself and to be in the best situation that I can thrive as someone who’s been through all of the things that I’ve been through.”

Still, he denies that infidelity plays a part, quoting, “Real n****s don’t cheat,” from the chorus of his new track “Don’t Cheat.”

What Is Chris Brown’s Best-Selling Album?

Chris Brown’s ascendancy in the music world seemed predestined. Yet, his sophomore album, Exclusive, cemented his status as an R&B prodigy. The 2007 release was a commercial juggernaut. It boasted a diverse palette of sounds that proved Brown wasn’t just a one-hit-wonder but a versatile artist with staying power. Exclusive further showcased Brown’s vocal and personal maturation, resonating with worldwide audiences. It catapulted the album to impressive sales figures that have yet to be surpassed by his later works. This comprehensive deep dive into Exclusive invites readers to retrace the steps of Brown’s storied journey to fame, illustrating how this pivotal album is a memorable part of the R&B fabric.

Major Hits & Reception

Exclusive was a commercial tour de force, an album that veritably danced through the charts. The infectious lead single “Kiss Kiss,” featuring T-Pain, which claimed the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, bolstered the project. The album itself debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, a testament to Brown’s growing influence. Subsequent hits like “With You” and “Forever” proved to be fixtures on international charts. “With You” peaked at No. 2 on the Hot 100, and “Forever” crested at No. 2 in several countries, including New Zealand and Ireland.

Exclusive didn’t just revel in the moment—it spent an impressive 95 weeks on the Billboard 200. By March 2011, the RIAA certified it double platinum, signaling over two million units moved in the United States alone. Its reception was equally noteworthy, as critics applauded Brown’s evolution in sound. They also noted the album’s genre-blending compositions that took R&B into a new era.

Development Of A Chris Brown Classic

When tracing the genesis of Exclusive, we unearth a 17-year-old Chris Brown in the throes of ambition. He was aiming to eclipse the success of his self-titled debut. Brown’s sophomore effort was a melting pot of creative exploration. He collaborated with several industry titans like Will.i.am, Sean Garrett, and Tank. Each veteran lent their distinctive touch to the project.

As for the reception, Exclusive split the critics’ verdict. Some praised Brown for his vocal maturation and the album’s eclectic nature. Others critiqued it for playing it safe, often swaying too close to mainstream R&B and pop prevailing winds. Yet, the public spoke with their wallets, propelling Exclusive into a mainstay within the R&B realm. The album’s ability to resonate with a diverse audience spectrum – from dance clubs to introspective solo listeners – was indeed a coup for Brown, suggesting that despite critical ambivalence, he had struck a chord where it truly counted: with the listeners.

Travis Kelce Refuses To Say If He’s Joining Taylor Swift For South American Eras Tour Concerts

Travis Kelce had a fun little exchange with his brother this week about whether he would be hitting up the Eras Tour in South America. However, Traylor fans will be left disappointed as Kelce refused to give a definitive answer. “I might just say f-ck it and just go somewhere nice, I don’t know. My skin’s getting real pale so I gotta go somewhere sunny,” Travis said on New Heights when asked by his brother if he had plans for the Chiefs’ bye week. When Travis added that he wanted to be “closer to the equator”, Jason shot back with a “South of the equator?”

Taylor Swift, Travis’ girlfriend, will be in South America for the next few weeks for the final 2023 shows on the Eras Tour. November 9-11 see her in Buenos Aires. Meanwhile, she will spend November 17-19 in Rio and November 24-26 in São Paulo. There had been speculation as to whether Kelce would join Swift in at least Argentina, given his convenient bye week. The other dates seem improbable given the Chiefs games on November 20 and 26.

Is The Swift Effect A Real Thing For Travis Kelce?

Meanwhile, a conspiracy continues to persist amongst Swifties and NFL fans that Taylor Swift is having a very real impact on Travis Kelce’s season. The Chiefs have now played nine games this season, amassing a 7-2 record. Swift has attended four games this season, half of the games Kelce has played in so far (he missed week 1 due to injury).

When Swift is in the stands, Kelce has 432 yards and 2 touchdowns (108 per game). However, when Swift is absent, Kelce has just 165 yards and two short-yardage touchdowns (41.25 per game). Furthermore, the Chiefs are 4-0 with Swift attending but suffered a blowout loss to the Broncos when she skipped that road game. Does this mean that Taylor Swift makes Travis Kelce a better football player? No, of course not. However, it does make for some fun statistical analysis for Chiefs fans to mull over during the bye.

Blac Chyna Completes Court-Mandated Course Amid Tyga Custody Battle

Blac Chyna and Tyga have been engaged in a legal drama over custody of their child King Cairo since July. Chyna first filed a motion in court earlier this year in order to establish parenthood of the child and potentially collect child support. Tyga immediately hit back with claims that the action was disingenuous for on account of the fact that she waited 10 years to actually do it.

Now a new, though minor, development in the ongoing case is making its way public. According to Page Six, earlier this month Blac Chyna reportedly finished the “Our Children First” online course. The course is a piece of parental education that was reportedly court-mandated for her to take as a part of the ongoing legal proceedings. It comes as Chyna has doubled down on claims that she is financially struggling. Tyga has repeatedly described her requests for financial support as exaggerated.

The last time we heard about the custody battle was last month. Blac Chyna was reportedly seeking an avenue to settle the case outside of court. She claims that “we could have just had a conversation,” but instead Tyga seems to want to continue pursuing a solution through the legal system.

That came just a few weeks after Tyga had made a request to the courts for primary custody of the pair’s child. Chyna responded to the request, calling it “sad.” She maintains that she’s seeking a healthy co-parenting situation which she says would be the best for their child. Tyga has been largely quiet in public about the legal matters. What do you think of the newest developments in Blac Chyna and Tyga’s custody proceedings? Let us know in the comment section below.

Shaq Reflects On Past Relationships

Earlier this year, Shaq opened up about the mistakes he had made in previous relationships. “I had two perfect women and I messed it up. My first one was my baby mother, Arnetta [Yardbourgh], and then I met Shaunie [Nelson]. Shaunie was also a perfect woman and I messed it up. Yeah, you know, we were young and always just doing dumb stuff. But, you know, the good thing about our relationship is that they forgave me and we have a good relationship now. Some men can only offer two, for whatever reason, but I’ma teach you how to offer all three.’ And that’s what I try to do. Even though I don’t have a relationship with the women that I let get away, I will always PPL: protect, provide, and love. Whatever they need, they get it from me,” he concluded. “Shaunie’s married, I’m happy for her. I hope this gentleman treats her the way she’s supposed to be treated, and I’ma still love her. She’s still my wife, I will always protect, provide, and love for her, married or not. No, it’s just how I was raised. You protect, you provide, and you love your woman,” he continued.

According to her, her touching his nose is being depicted as far more serious than it actually was in order to create a storyline on The Impact: Atlanta. She adds that the way she’s portrayed on the show is inaccurate, which is so upsetting to her that she’s stopped watching altogether.

“When I had bopped him on the nose for one, of course clips are broken up, all of this stuff. We was laughing and whatever.
