Drake Offers A Subtle Response After LeBron James Was Seen Rapping Along To Kendrick Lamar’s Diss About Him

LeBron James had a big game the other night, when his Los Angeles Lakers bested the Brooklyn Nets 116-104. He wound up with 40 points on 13-of-17 shooting from the field, including nine three-pointers (which ties a career high). Metro Boomin couldn’t help but notice that James’ big night came after the NBA star was spotted rapping along to Kendrick Lamar’s verse on “Like That,” a highlight from Metro and Future’s new album We Don’t Trust You.

That verse, of course, made waves when it first dropped for apparent disses against J. Cole and Drake. Drake caught wind of LeBron’s moment with the song and had a subtle reaction: He liked an Instagram post sharing the video.

This comes after Drake used Instagram to offer up with some took as other reactions to the song. In one post, he wrote, “They rather go to war with me than admit they are their own worst enemy [crying laughing emoji].” He said in another, “I could never sell ya’ll out to sell my latest work. Never do you bad out the blue but I’m down to make it worse.”

So, at this point, unless he’s saving it for a diss track or something, it looks like these subtle shots may be all we get from Drake in terms of a “Like That” response.

Schoolboy Q Took Five Years Off From Music Because He Made So Much Money From Golf — But There Was A Downside, Too

It should come as no secret by now that Schoolboy Q loves golf. He’s talked before about how the sport helped him learn about himself as a person and he even partnered with 2K Games for the rollout for PGA Tour 2K21, appearing in the game’s launch trailer and performing at the game’s launch party in Los Angeles.

However, rap fans may not appreciate his love for the game as much when they learn it was one of the main reasons for the five-year gap between his last two albums, 2019’s Crash Talk and the newly released Blue Lips. Appearing on Lil Yachty’s podcast A Safe Space, Q recalled how he got into golf via a bet, but ended up making so much from his secondary career, it basically funded his hiatus from rap. “I don’t kick it in the studio no more,” he said after joking that his “studio budget is silly.”

“I was able to relax for five years,” he said. “I made a lot of money off rap, but golf helped me a lot.”

It should be no secret either that music is… not the most lucrative career. For every multi-millionaire, there are dozens of artists grinding to make ends meet — and for every one of them, there are even more whose dreams never make it past local stages in dive bars [raises hand]. So for Q, having some level of celebrity — and the perseverance to polish his game to serious levels — golf turned out to be a blessing for the South Central rapper because of endorsement deals.

Unfortunately, there was also a dark side: He says he fell back from endorsements and appearances because of racialized disrespect he experienced, such as being asked to wear grills to appear “more Black.”

Sexyy Red Claps Back At Joe Budden’s Claims About Her And Drake With NSFW Video

Sexyy Red and Drake have formed one of the most surprising friendships in rap across the past few months. The breakout star of 2023 appeared on a song from Drizzy’s new album For All The Dogs. They were both joined by SZA on the track “Rich Baby Daddy” which became a breakout hit. Earlier this year they shared a video for the song where Drake and Sexyy pretended to be a couple to play off of her real-life pregnancy.

But during a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Budden has some comments about their relationship. In clips that made the rounds online, he claims that Drake must be getting paid to promote Sexyy Red and her music. He also jokes that the pair can’t possibly be hanging out so much because Drizzy likes it. Unsurprisingly, once Sexyy saw the comments she had the perfect response. “Tell @JoeBudden dis what drake like” she captioned a hilarious tweet. It was accompanied by a video of the pair performing “Rich Baby Daddy” on stage while Red twerks on Drake on stage. Check out her hilarious response below.

Sexyy Red Claps Back At Joe Budden

This isn’t the first response Red has given to Joe Budden’s recent comments. She took to Twitter earlier this week with a snappier response describing both of the podcast hosts as “dumb.” Budden doesn’t seem to have doubled down on his comments yet despite Red continuing to bring them up with clap backs.

Last month, Sexyy Red unleashed her new single “Get It Sexyy.” The song netter her the highest placement on the Hot 100 she’s ever gotten as a solo artist with an impressive debut inside the top 30. After debuting at number 23 last week the song slipped to number 28 this week. What do you think of Sexyy Red’s hilarious response to Joe Budden’s comments about her and Drake? Do you think the pair of “Rich Baby Daddy” collaborators are actually friends? Let us know in the comment section below.

Christian Combs’ Birthday Wish From Quincy Brown Shows Their Brotherly Love

As Diddy’s name continues to be splattered throughout the media with harrowing allegations and troll posts from opps like 50 Cent, his seven children are doing their best to stay positive. Even amid accusations of trafficking and assault, the “Moments” artist looked cool, calm, and collected when stepping out with his twin daughters following the raids at his mansions last month. Elsewhere, his oldest sons, Quincy Brown and Christian Combs (also known as King) aren’t keeping quiet as the latter celebrates his 26th birthday.

On Monday (April 1), the New York native’s big day came around, and his older brother’s Instagram lit up with a heartfelt tribute post that shows how fond they are of each other. “Happy Birthday Christian Casey Combs! ♚ My Young King! I love you with all my heart. 💜🎈,” Brown wrote in his caption. “They can try and stop us but we are not STOPPIN’ THE COUPE… AND THAT’S THE TRUTH! 🏎 💨.”

Rather than condemning them for Diddy’s drama, the comments are being flooded with messages of praise for the young men. “Not gone lie, outta all the chaos going on seeing the kids in good spirit makes me smile. They literally look identical to their fathers I love this 😍,” one IG user expressed. “It’s hella wild, growing up in the 90s to straight up see Al B. Sure and Puff Daddy doing a song together, fast forward 25 years later. Man! Kim literally birthed both of ’em! ❤❤,” another added.

Even though Al B. sure is urging his son to come home, it’s unclear whether Quincy has been spending more time with his biological father amid Diddy’s downward spiral. At the very least, we know the “Black Lingerie” singer is still sticking by his siblings’ sides as they navigate this confusing time. Who Is Sadboi? The Toronto Rapper That Drake Just Co-Signed

Ebhoni Jade Cato-O’Garro, popularly known by the stage name SadBoi, has been making waves. With her unique blend of talent and cultural influences, she’s evidently a star on the rise. Most recently, the Toronto musician caught Drake’s attention. Following a co-sign by the star rapper, her name is coming up in a lot more conversations. As for the increasing interest in her art and musical rise, here’s what we know about SadBoi.

Background

Born on December 5, 1999, SadBoi hails from Canada and is of Antiguan, Jamaican, and Indigenous heritage. She spent her formative years in Toronto’s Weston Road neighborhood, before relocating to Oshawa with her mother and sister following her parent’s divorce. Life wasn’t all roses for the rapper, however. During an interview with Trash Talk, she admitted to being bullied in middle school, and spoke about how it affected her personality.

“When I got bullied all through middle school, it affected me like going into high school,” she started. “Even now, I feel like I’m just now getting used to interacting with people. And it took me like so long but I never really realized how that affected me… People just bullied me because I was just like, I was just into different things. I dressed different… and I also did YouTube covers. And when people see me at school they’ll be like ‘oh you do YouTube covers and you dress like that? Weirdo.’”

SadBoi’s Musical Journey

SadBoi’s journey into music began early, as she entered her first singing competition at just nine years old during the Canadian National Exhibition. By 10 years old, she was already in the recording studio, laying down tracks. Moreover, by 11, she was creating her original songs. Embracing the digital age, she took to YouTube, sharing covers of songs by renowned artists like Beyoncé and Keyshia Cole, alongside her own compositions. Altogether, this marked the start of her artistic journey in the public eye.

SadBoi made her debut in 2017 with the EP Mood Ring, proving herself to be a force in the music scene. The EP subsequently went on to accumulate over two million streams on SoundCloud. Formerly known as Ebhoni, SadBoi later transformed, both in name and artistic direction, embracing a persona that embodies raw emotion and vulnerability. This evolution reflected her growth as an artist and her commitment to authenticity in her craft.

An Artistic Rebrand

In a conversation on the One More Time podcast, she delved into her artistic rebranding. “It was kind of like a moment where I think every artist kind of has this where they’re like ‘Damn something needs to change because something’s obviously not working,’” she began. “And you kinda go through this phase or this point where you’re like ‘Okay, I’m figuring out who I am, what I like and don’t like, and what I stand for and all that stuff. So, I just felt like I really didn’t fit anymore and I just felt like the biggest thing was like my artist name.”

Following her debut EP, she unveiled another EP titled X in February 2021. This was followed by a mixtape, Good Dick & Weed, in July 2021. Soon after, she released a few singles, including “Gyal Clown,” “Lie Lie Lie,” and “Slide,” which arrived at the top of last month. SadBoi’s music often delves into themes of love, identity, and self-discovery. This has quickly resonated with her growing audience, who appreciate her honesty and vulnerability. Furthermore, her soulful vocals, paired with hypnotic beats create an immersive experience that draws listeners into her world.

New Developments

One of the most significant acknowledgments of SadBoi’s talent came from none other than Drake. His co-signing of SadBoi has served as a stamp of approval, catapulting her into the spotlight and garnering attention from a broader audience. This recognition also speaks volumes about SadBoi’s potential, and the impact she’s set to make in the industry. As she continues to carve her path in both music, one thing remains certain: her journey is far from over. With her unwavering passion, talent, and dedication, SadBoi is already inspiring others to embrace their true selves and pursue their dreams relentlessly. Pulling in audiences with her soul-stirring music, her star is undoubtedly on the rise, illuminating the way for future success.

Metro Boomin Calls Out Rappers Who Are “Scared To Post” “WE DON’T TRUST YOU,” Fans Suspect 21 Savage & Drake Are In Crosshairs

Metro Boomin is one of the most successful producers of all time, but especially over the last year and change. Since 2022’s HEROES & VILLAINS, the St. Louis, Missouri beat crafter has continued to churn number one record after number one record. In fact, he just scored his fourth top charting project on the Billboard Hot 200 with WE DON’T TRUST YOU. It sold 251,000 units in its first week, making it the biggest debut of 2024 overall so far. However, even with all the well-earned acclaim, Metro Boomin still feels some people are “scared” to show it love.

A tweet from the hitmaker has been gaining some attention overnight in which he puts unnamed people on blast. Shortly after him and Future grabbed the top of both the Hot 200 and 100, Metro tweeted, “I see a lot of niggas been scared to post the album too😂😭😭😭#IForgiveButIDontForget #WEDONTTRUSTYOU🚷🚷🚷” Fans got to speculation and theory in the comments section as to who this could be for possibly. The obvious victim that people were throwing around was Drake since of the “Like That” diss from Kendrick Lamar.

However, there is a fairly large camp that feels 21 Savage could be in the crosshairs as well. We believe that could have something to do with the Georgia rapper being close with Drake, especially after Her Loss. If you remember that album was getting more praise than H&V and Metro was not too happy about it. In the same breath it would also be a big switch up in tone about one the producer’s most frequent collaborators. They just worked pretty closely together on Savage’s 2024 record american dream. Fans are hoping that Metro and 21 are not beefing. One fan replied, “Bro I swear to God please don’t stop working with 21 Savage that will be a HUGE void in hip hop.”

What are your thoughts on Metro Boomin saying rappers are scared to support WE DON’T TRUST YOU? Do you agree with the fans that Drake and 21 Savage are the ones being targeted, or do you think its someone else? What are your top five tracks from the album right now? Is Metro’s behavior online changing your opinion on the producer, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Metro Boomin. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on around the world of music.

Lizzo’s “I Quit” Message Labeled An “Outburst Seeking Attention” By Lawyer For Her Dancers

Attorney Ron Zambrano, who is representing the dancers that are suing Lizzo, says the “Truth Hurts” singer’s message about quitting music is simply “another outburst” and that she’s just “seeking attention.” She made headlines, last week, for claiming to retire from music due to the constant bullying she faces online. The statement was met with a mixture of criticism and support.

“It’s a joke that Lizzo would say she is being bullied by the internet when she should instead be taking an honest look at herself,” Zambrano wrote in the statement obtained by Billboard. “Her latest post is just another outburst seeking attention and trying to deflect from her own failings as she continues to blame everyone else for the predicament she is in. Lizzo’s legal and public relations strategy is a failure, so she is desperately trying to play the victim. She has thrown these childish tantrums before. No one actually believes she is quitting music. But she should quit sexually harassing, shaming and bullying her employees and finally accept responsibility for her actions.” He further argued that toxic behavior is ruining the entertainment industry and cited Diddy and Dan Schneider as examples.

A spokesperson for Lizzo addressed the comments in a statement also provided to Billboard. “With nearly half his case dismissed, 18 independent witnesses siding with Lizzo and no settlement on the way to get him his tasty contingency fee, Ron has started making wild personal attacks that have absolutely nothing to do with the clients who he is supposedly representing. We would humbly recommend that Ron start representing his clients and stop representing just himself,” it reads.

Mariah The Scientist Alleged Club Brawl: What We Know

In the early hours of Thursday, March 28th, a video clip allegedly featuring R&B crooner Mariah the Scientist went viral across social media.  The clip, although short, purportedly shows Mariah in Jeans and a white hoodie getting off the floor, and then attempting to get back to being physical with an unknown woman who is not clearly shown in the video. One of the earliest accounts on X to post the video clip captioned it: “Sh*t Mariah ran in the club and swung on Cleo.”

Cleotrapra Isn’t The Other Woman

The other woman, Cleo, was initially wrongly identified as Cleotrapa, the reality TV star and rapper behind “Rockstar.” However, Cleotrapa herself resorted to social media to dispel any thoughts or rumors about being the other woman in the video. She also showed love to Mariah the Scientist, labeling her “my fave.” She also tweeted: “LMFAOOOOOO y’all really don’t know my résumé. I will never be on camera fighting anyone! Just register that… I’ve worked with so many brands like stop playing with my name fr.”

This story was subsequently corroborated by Cleotrapa’s publicist Alicia Gooding, who wrote: “Cleo is in New York working on the release of her ‘Von Dutch’ single and shooting the video. She wouldn’t have been in a physical altercation with her peers. So much work to do. There’s no way she could be in that fight.” With eyes off Cleotrapa, many believe the Cleo in question to be one of Young Thug’s baby mamas.

Mariah The Scientist’s public feuds have a habit of being traced to her relationship with Young Thug. An example is the series of call-outs by Jerrika Karlae, Young Thug’s ex-fiance. Young Thug and Mariah have been dating for a little over two years now. The pair also seem to be going strong despite his imprisonment at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia.

Nonetheless, the particular reason for Mariah’s alleged outburst is still unknown. Anonymous witnesses from the altercation which took place at a club lounge in Atlanta claim that the singer had stomped into the venue looking to fight and yelling at the other woman. The words she yelled also went unheard due to the loud music playing in the background.

The Public’s Opinion

Many believe that the likelihood that Mariah the Scientist is actually the woman in the video is high. As a result, fans of the singer aren’t taking the news too well. Recently, she claimed she needed to take a break from the public eye because she was not feeling well. Now, the video has fans questioning the validity of her claims, especially since she would show up barely a week later in the headlines for fighting in public. The revelation raised many eyebrows and fans have demanded an official explanation.

On March 21st, and again on March 25th, Mariah the Scientist postponed her To Be Eaten Alive tour dates. She cited severe exhaustion and shared on Instagram Live how touring was impacting her health. “I’m not canceling or postponing my shows because I want to,” she began. “I’m f**king sick.. I get it y’all mad, but they have been postponed last minute because I thought I’d be able to do them… I thought I’d be able to show up and be back by now.”

Latto Performs With TLC, Social Media Shares Mixed Reactions

Beyonce was the starlet many were most excited to see at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards as she took home the Innovator Prize from fellow icon Stevie Wonder. Still, the show had countless other pop culture crossovers, including a performance from TLC who surprised some viewers with the femcee they recruited to stand in for the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. In the past, Lil Mama has been a top contender for the part after playing the fallen member in the 2013 biopic, Crazy Sexy Cool, about their come-up. However, this year, it was Latto who joined Chilli and T-Boz for renditions of the girl group’s biggest hits, “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs.”

Big winners at the awards ceremony on Monday (April 1) include Taylor Swift (Best Artist), Morgan Wallen (Country Artist), SZA (R&B Artist, Album, and Song), Joshua Halling (Tour Photographer), Selena Gomez and Rema (Best Collaboration), and Latto took home Best Music Video for her work with Jungkook on “Seven.” As for performances, Justin Timberlake, Tate McRae, Green Day, and the evening’s host, Ludacris, were all on the roster.
