Young Buck Sounds Reinvigorated On New Single “Don’t Ask Me”

Young Buck isn’t young anymore. The former G-Unit member has been through a lot since he first broke onto the scene in the early 2000s. He’s seen tremendous commercial highs and dire financial lows, like a bankruptcy filing in 2010. Young Buck is back with a new single, however, and it proves that he has put all this experience to good use. The rapper sounds authoritative and aggressive on the song, proving that he still has what it takes to deliver the goods in 2024. “Don’t Ask Me” is Buck’s best single in years.

The instrumental definitely helps. Young Buck is not stuck in the production of the past, and instead taps DJ Paul KOM for a chilly, nocturnal sound bed. “Don’t Ask Me” sounds like its contending with the ghosts of the past as Young Buck does the same lyrically. He makes reference to his complicated past with 50 Cent and G-Unit. He also makes reference to the recent beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Young Buck has been keeping tabs on the rap game, but he doesn’t sound out of step. Instead, Buck sounds confident with where he’s at. He knows he can still rattle off memorable bars. The chorus isn’t anything crazy, but it’s easy to repeat and keeps the viewer anchored to the beat. A winner.

Drake Helps Rick Ross Earn His First Song With A Billion Streams Amidst Feud

Drake and Rick Ross are one of the best pairings in modern hip hop. Drake and Lil Wayne did their thing over the years, as did Kanye West and JAY-Z, but Drizzy and Rozay were something special. They have a ton of classic singles dating back to 2010. One of these singles, “Money In the Grave,” achieved the rare feat of netting over one billion streams on Spotify. This is a career first for Rick Ross, and it’s supremely ironic that it came through a feature on a Drake song.

Drake and Rick Ross have been sniping at each other all year. The former friends addressed each other on record and taunted each other on social media. Rozay even dedicated an entire song to dissing Drake, “Champagne Moments.” Drizzy didn’t feel the need to throw more than a few bars at Ross at a time. He made fun of the Miami rapper’s age on “Push Ups,” and asserted that he’s responsible for most of his biggest songs. “Can’t believe he jumpin’ in, this n**ga turnin’ 50,” Drake raps. “Every song that made it on the chart, he got from Drizzy. Spend that lil’ check you got and stay up out my business.”

Drake Has 18 Songs With Over A Billion Streams

Rick Ross attempted to shrug off the bar, but the numbers don’t lie. Drake has a whopping 18 songs with over a billion streams on Spotify. This makes him tied with The Weeknd for most songs with over a billion streams in music history. “Money In the Grave” marks the record-tying number 18, and “Look Alive,” the rapper’s collab with BlocBoy JB, is nearing the prestigious one billion mark as well. Drizzy is already the rapper with the most songs over a billion streams, but he’s on pace to become the artist with the most songs over a billions streams period.

Rick Ross is a different story. The Miami rapper has had a staggeringly successful career, but he has definitely benefited from the Drake stimulus package. “Money In the Grave” is far and away his most successful single in terms of streams. The second-most streamed song has to date is also a feature, Kanye West’s “Devil In a New Dress.” The classic 2010 single currently sits at 500K streams, meaning half the streams as his Drake collab. Drizzy appears three other times on Rick Ross’ ten most-streamed songs. ‘Nuff said.

King Harris Arrested On Failure To Appear Warrant In Georgia

King Harris found himself in legal trouble on Monday. The rapper and son of T.I. was arrested in the state of Georgia after a failure to appear warrant was issued in his name. King Harris was pulled over by local police, and subsequently cuffed when officers checked his record. It turns out, the rapper had a charge dating back to August 2022 that he failed to appear for in court.

Fox 5 reported that the warrant stemmed from a 2022 speeding ticket. King Harris was pulled over and charged with driving a motor vehicle on a suspended license and driving under the influence of drugs. An arraignment notice was set for September 2024, but the rapper failed to appear. Fox 5 claims that Harris was arrested in Dunwoody and transferred to DeKalb County Jail. He was then released to Pickens County after a recall was ordered for the bench warrant.

The Shade Room obtained a statement from the arresting officer. The officer made it clear that King Harris was cooperative during his arrest. “Mr. Harris was cooperative, and I removed the firearm from his hip with no issue,” he stated. “I then had Mr. Harris step out of the vehicle and I detained him by placing handcuffs on him. I escorted Mr. Harris to my patrol vehicle, conducted a pat down, and placed him into the rear of my vehicle.” Harris’ current status is unknown, according to Fox 5.

King Harris has been making headlines throughout 2024. He filmed a music video alongside the son of Lil Boosie, Tootie Raw, but the rappers were subsequently scolded by their famous fathers for wielding firearms in the video. T.I. served prison time for unlicensed firearms, so the anger was understandable. In happier news, however, King Harris is going to become a father. T.I. confirmed that his son is expecting his first child during an appearance on Hot 107.9. “Now I have two grandchildren,” the veteran rapper explained last month. “I’ve got two granddaughters, and King’s about to have a son.”

Erica Mena and Safaree have turned up the heat throughout the week. The Love & Hip Hop stars have always been ready to go when it comes to public spats. The allegations that have been made, however, and the dirty laundry that has been shared, reached a whole new level on October 16. Safaree posted a compilation of security footage in which Mena physically assaulted him. The internet was horrified, and then Erica Mena fired back with a scathing Instagram rant. She leveled serious allegations at Safaree in return.

Erica Mena alleged that all of the footage Safaree posted of her was from 2023. She also stated that one of the instances in which she was seen hitting him was not given proper context. The reality star alleged that Safaree had “violated her body” shortly before the footage was captured, and she felt as though she was defending herself. “The one of me being in raged [sic] was because he violated my body. I wanted answers on why he would put my health in jeopardy but he’s not admitting that part.” Erica Mena had a ton more to say on the matter. She alleged that Safaree dropped the restraining order he got against her because he wanted to get back together.

The Love & Hip Hop star wrote that Safaree got on his knees and “begged” to get back together. She alleged that their kids bore witness to this. It’s worth noting that some of the footage Safaree provided saw Mena strike him with their kids present. Erica Mena provided specific dates in which Safaree came and allegedly asked to get back together. She also accused the producer of gaslighting her and making her feel as though she’s the issue. Interestingly, enough, Mena brought the rant back to the topic that started the conflict in the first place: child support.

Safaree requested that his child support payments be lowered due to his diminished income. Erica Mena took the producer to task for this request. She alleged that Safaree has gone months without paying his child support. The reality star also alleged that she had to get the department of child support to literally take the money from Safaree’s account. Erica Mena concluded her multi-part rant by attacking Safaree’s parenting. She castigated him for being an absentee father. She also criticized him for leaking footage that will cause “trauma” to both her and their children.

Liam Payne is gone, and fans around the world are stunned. The former One Direction singer was only 31 years old, and still in the midst of releasing new music. The circumstances surrounding Payne’s untimely death are still being sorted out. TMZ reported that the singer fell from the third floor of his hotel room in Argentina. The outlet also alleges that he was acting erratically in the lobby, and had to be carried to his room shortly before his fatal fall. Regardless of the circumstances, the music world has been mourning Liam Payne’s death.

Juicy J, who collaborated with Liam Payne on the 2016 single “You,” tweeted his condolences. “R.I.P. Liam Payne,” he wrote. “Wow I can’t believe it prayers up for the family.” A similarly heartbroken thought was shared by Flavor Flav, who was shocked to learn the singer had died at such a young age. “R.I.P. to Liam Payne,” the Public Enemy rapper tweeted. “Much too young.” Payne was the One Direction singer who leaned into R&B and hip hop the most throughout his solo career. His debut solo single, “Strip That Down,” featured a snappy instrumental and a guest verse from Quavo.

Ty Dolla Sign Spoke To Liam Payne Days Before His Death

Despite this missed opportunity, Ty revealed that he had spoken to Payne a few days before his death. “Just talked to you 2 days ago my guy,” the R&B singer wrote. “Ima miss u frfr.” Ty Dolla Sign also posted a video of Payne on his Instagram Stories. Zedd, who appeared on Liam Payne’s only solo album, LP1, celebrated the singer for his musical legacy. “R.I.P. Liam,” he wrote. “I can’t believe this is real. Absolutely heartbreaking.”

Liam Payne admitted hesitation to break away from the pop-rock of One Direction in his own music. He told Entertainment Weekly that he loved hip hop music, though, and cited Migos and Lil Uzi Vert as some of his favorite artists. “I listen to a lot of rap music,” he asserted. “It’s important to do something that you want to do, but you can’t forget your fan base, you can’t forget your roots.” Payne’s aforementioned song with Quavo was a top 10 Billboard smash in 2017, so fans didn’t seem to mind.

Safaree Gets Attacked By Erica Mena In Shocking Home Security Footage

Safaree Samuels and Erica Mena have never had the smoothest relationship. The Love & Hip Hop stars have made drama part of their brand for years. The drama, however, has gotten increasingly serious in the past few weeks. Safaree shocked social media followers when he leaked security footage in which Mena gets physically violent with him. The security footage was cobbled together from different times, and one of the incidents appears to have taken place in front of their children.

The footage shows Erica Mena shoving Safaree and breaking property inside their home. The latter felt that he needed to share the footage in order to properly illustrate to the public what he’s been dealing with. “I have to put myself first,” he told his followers. “Because I’m either gonna end up in jail or worse because Im dealing with someone who’s anger management is nonexistent.” Safaree also turned some of the blame on himself. He claimed he should have been more aware of Erica Mena’s anger issues well before they started a family together. “When you have children with someone,” he explained. “I should have just noticed certain things when it came to parenting.”

The latest spat between Safaree and Erica Mena stemmed from child support payments. Safaree send Mena a request to get his monthly payments lowered from $4K. The producer also demanded that Mena help to pay off some of his legal fees. He argued that he makes less money than he did when the initial child support amount was agreed upon. Furthermore, Safaree claimed that he watched his children an estimated 3-4 weeks at a time instead of the prescribed 12 days. Erica Mena did not take to this request positively.

The Love & Hip Hop star proceeded to drag Safaree for trying to lower his monthly payments. She also posted a calendar that allegedly showed the amount of days that Safaree had spent with their children in the past year. Mena posits that the number is significantly lower that the producer suggested. “Imagine trying to detect CS from your BM,” she wrote in a since deleted IG post. “When that’s they get from you since he skips out on birthdays and Christmas by choice… You only seen your kids 16 times this whole year so far.” Mena has yet to respond to the leaked security footage.

King Los Voices Concern For Diddy While The Mogul Remains Locked Up

King Los may not be a household name in hip hop, but he’s a veteran presence. He’s been rapping since the 1990s, and has spent the last two decades serving as Diddy’s primary ghostwriter. The relationship between the two men is seemingly close. King Los was even spotted alongside Diddy after the video of the mogul attacking Cassie leaked online. The rapper has continued to voice his support for Diddy over the last few months, however. He told TMZ that he hasn’t gotten a chance to speak with the mogul since he was locked up.

TMZ caught up with King Los on October 16. They asked the rapper if he was worried about Diddy, and he made a clear distinction. “Concerned,” Los said, when asked to explain his feelings on the situation. “Not worried.” The rapper was also questioned over the baby oil memes and the overall hatred that the Bad Boy mogul has received online since his arrest. King Los claimed that the internet didn’t matter, as there’s no way of controlling what people say. “You can’t control the internet,” he asserted. “Sometimes jokes lighten up harsh situations, but sometimes it could hurt.”

King Los Announced Plans To Rap About Diddy Experiences

In the case of Diddy, King Los feels as though he’s too close to the situation to make a ruling. “I can’t call it one way or the other,” he admitted. “It’s about what you pay attention to.” The rapper told TMZ that he has made a point of ignoring the Diddy jokes. The interview took an unexpected turn, however, when Los said that he planned to rap about his Bad Boy experiences on record. “At some point, yeah,” he told the reporter. “Everything reality. It’s a part of my life.” King Los shied away from providing any details, but he said he would inevitably put a creative spin on the things he’s witnessed alongside Diddy.

King Los’ closeness to Diddy has not been great for his public image. The rapper was derided by fans on social media after he was seen with the mogul after the Cassie video. Payne reportedly fell off a hotel balcony to his death on October 16. The singer was staying in Argentina, and TMZ claims to have obtained photos of his body in the immediate aftermath. The footage that has left fans shocked, however, is the Snapchat Story that Liam Payne posted just one hour before his death.

In a deleted Snapchat Story, Payne updated fans from his Argentina hotel. He announced that he was having a “lovely day” with girlfriend Kate Cassidy. He also detailed some of the activities he had planned. The couple intended to go horse riding and play polo. Cassidy, who appears in the Snapchat, can also be heard joking about their lazy habits. The actress/influencer claimed they slept in until 1 pm, and Payne playfully refuted the notion they are “losers.” The One Direction star also posted photos of his breakfast and various parts of the hotel. “Happy I got some time away,” he wrote in the caption of one scenic shot.

Liam Payne’s Snapchat Stories are a far cry from the TMZ reports about his behavior. The outlet spoke to several eyewitnesses who claimed the singer was acting “aggressive” in the lobby. He allegedly broke a laptop and was carried back to his hotel room. The outlet further alleges that a 911 call was made due to alarming behavior by a guest. Payne was not mentioned, but the timing of the call aligns with the claims of his disruptive behavior.

It’s also worth noting the presence of Kate Cassidy in the Snapchat Stories. TMZ reported that Cassidy left Argentina on October 14, meaning she was not present when the videos of her were posted. Page Six theorizes that Liam Payne was posting videos and photos taken from the preceding weekend in the time leading up to his death. The outlet claims that the singer fell to his death shortly after 5 pm. By 5:30, the aforementioned Snaps were removed from his Main Stories and archived under “Spotlight.”

TMZ broke the story, alleging that there were multiple witnesses who saw Payne fall from the third floor of his Buenos Aires hotel. The singer had been traveling with girlfriend Kate Cassidy, but the outlet claims that Cassidy left Argentina on October 14. The circumstances surrounding Liam Payne’s fall remain unclear. He was 31 years old.

Liam Payne was forthright about his personal struggles in the years leading up to his death. During a 2021 appearance on the Diary of a CEO podcast, the singer admitted to struggling with alcoholism and suicidal thoughts. These issues surfaced while he was still a member of One Direction. “I was worried how far my rock bottom was going to be,” he explained to the host. “Where’s rock bottom for me? And you would never have seen it. I’m very good at hiding it. No one would ever have seen it.” 1D broke up in 2016, and Payne launched a solo career the following year.

Liam Payne also suffered a health scare in 2023. The “Strip That Down” singer was hospitalized due to a serious kidney infection in August of that year, and forced to cancel tour dates.
