Young Thug Makes Second Hospital Trip In Two Days Amid RICO Trial

The long-spanning YSL RICO trial continues to be plagued with problems, most recently as a result of Young Thug’s health. For some time now, the embattled rapper’s attorneys have been pleading with judges to give their client bond as his well-being behind bars continues to suffer. Unfortunately for Thugger, their fourth attempt was recently denied. This took place shortly before the Atlanta native was taken to hospital earlier this week, on Thursday (May 11). After an evaluation, he was able to leave. However, new reports reveal that the next day, Jeffrey Williams returned for more medical care.

As 11Alive reports, it remains unclear if the So Much Fun hitmaker was once again given the all-clear on Friday, or if he remains in doctor’s care. “I’m concerned about his well-being, his condition,” one of Thug’s lawyers, Keith Adams, told Judge Ural Glanville yesterday. Worry for the alleged gang member’s sleep schedule, as well as his diet, have been high for Williams’ legal team. They’ve even gone so far as to describe his condition as “languishing” amid lengthy legal proceedings. For the most part, he’s apparently been restricted to eating things with minimal nutritional value, such as chocolate, chips, and other junk foods.

Young Thug Returns to the Hospital

While they actually began in January, nearly halfway through March, a jury has yet to be selected for the trial. As Thugger and his co-defendants remain behind bars awaiting their fate, others, like Gunna, have been able to walk free after taking plea deals. Even with all the accusations stacked against him, the “Hot” hitmaker and his attorneys have maintained his innocence.

Charges the 31-year-old is facing include conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act in 2013, as well as gang activity from 2018 and beyond. Young Thug Transported to Hospital After Feeling Ill During Jury Selection

Young Thug was transported to the hospital after he became ill during Thursday’s court proceedings. According to 11 Alive, the rapper, born Jeffrey Williams, was released and is expected back in court on Friday to continue the already lengthy process of jury selection.

According to Young Thug’s lawyer, Keith Adams, the episode was similar to “some difficulty” he had recently in Cobb County Jail. Thug has resided in the location for almost a year after he was arrested on a RICO case against the YSL crew.

Speaking to presiding Judge Ural Glanville, Adams stated he was concerned about his well-being while housed in Cobb County, citing his client is “languishing” in jail.

In a document filed on April 24, Brian Steel, another attorney for Thug, stated the rapper does not have access to quality food options and often relies on food with “zero health benefits,” including chocolate and chips. In addition, Thug’s exercise is limited, and exposure to fresh air and sunlight only occurs in transportation to the courthouse. Furthermore, Thug is “sleep-deprived” as he only gets a max of five hours every night.

Young Thug Is Set To Appear In Court Tomorrow After Reportedly Being Released From A Hospital Earlier Today

Prior to a court hearing that was scheduled to take place today (May 11), rapper Young Thug was reportedly transported to a nearby hospital, per Atlanta news station 11 Alive. The rapper was said to have been experiencing chest pains, and was in treatment at Grady Hospital. According to the news station, Thug has since been released from the hospital after receiving an evaluation. He is reportedly set to appear in court tomorrow.

Keith Adams, An attorney for Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, told Judge Ural Glanville that he was unaware of Thug’s condition at the time, but was not expecting for him to appear in court today.

“I’ve asked the sheriff’s department if I’d be able to make contact with Mr. Williams — if I’d be able to see him at Grady,” said Adams. “The response is probably not. I do know that he’s had some difficulty of a similar sort at the Cobb County Jail a few months ago,” Adams continued, “so I’m obviously very concerned about his wellbeing.”

A year ago, Thug, along with rapper Gunna, and several members of Thug’s Younger Stoner Life imprint, were arrested on racketeering charges and have been held in custody since. Thug has attempted to get bail various times, however, has been denied.

Young Thug Taken To Hospital Before Court

The YSL RICO case just took a potentially dark turn, as Young Thug went to the hospital before court. Moreover, his attorney broke the news while in a court hearing, stating that he has “no idea what his condition is currently.” Furthermore, these are still initial reports with not much context as of writing this article, so this could mean many different things. However, his attorney stated that he was feeling very ill, and it’s unclear how this hospitalization will affect the rest of the trial. Still, the lawyer maintained that medial officials were evaluating the rapper, so an update is likely to come soon.

Not only that, but this news follows previous reports of attorneys and Thugger himself expressing concern for his health. For example, attorney Brian Steel sought a fourth attempt at bond while claiming that Young Thug faces poor living conditions behind bars that could impact his faculties at court. “Mr. Williams is not a risk to commit a crime and he’s not a risk to flee the jurisdiction and that’s what bond is about,” he told ABC News. In addition, he remarked to the outlet that he expressed to the judge that he “previously put forth compelling evidence, without doubt, that conditions can be imposed which permit bond to be set.”

Young Thug Reportedly Hospitalized Before Court

Meanwhile, reports also came out concerning Young Thug’s prison diet, which Steel maintained has “zero health benefits.” Specifically, reports indicated that the Atlanta rapper relies on chocolate and chips to get by. Also, a lack of access to sunlight, sleep, and exercise is reportedly affecting his health in a very negative way. With all this in mind, perhaps this hospitalization will convince the court that bond is not only humane, but necessary for the trial’s smooth continuation.

Regardless of those factors, we hope that the 31-year-old recovers swiftly and faces no further complications in this trial. Over a year after 28 YSL defendants were originally arrested on RICO charges, only ten remain. With processes like jury selection and court antics delaying the trial further and further, health must surely take priority in this lengthy case. A YSL Co-Defendant Was Given A Separate Trial After A Mental Health Evaluation Prompted By Some Wild Political Claims

A YSL co-defendant was given a separate trial after a mental health evaluation, according to The Atlanta-Journal Constitution. Jayden Myrick, originally one of 14 defendants in the YSL RICO case, was ordered to undergo the evaluation after claiming that he was receiving legal advice from Donald Trump and Joe Biden and wanted to represent himself in the upcoming trial.

Chief Judge Ural Glanville severed Myrick’s case on Monday due to the fact that the 22-year-old hadn’t been taking his medication for at least four months. In April, Myrick was quoted saying, “I’m not the regular inmate, I be with Joe Biden and Donald Trump and they be talking to me. Donald Trump is going to get me out.”

Myrick is already serving a life sentence for murder, armed robbery, and aggravated assault for a 2018 robbery that turned into a deadly shooting. With his case being severed, there are now 10 remaining co-defendants in the original YSL case. The rap label is suspected of being a street gang led by Young Thug responsible for a slew of murders and other violent crimes in the Atlanta area.

Of the 28 men who were initially indicted, several received plea deals in exchange for time served and their admission that YSL is indeed a criminal organization. However, no such deal was ever extended to Young Thug, whom authorities believe is the ringleader of the entire operation and has been in jail since his arrest a year ago.

Another chapter has been added to the Young Thug/YSL RICO case after it has been determined that one of the co-defendants in the case will be tried separately after being diagnosed with schizophrenia, according to a report from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Fulton County Judge Ural Glanville ruled on Monday (May 8) that Jayden Myrick aka Set Trip must be tried separately from the rest of his YSL defendants after a mental evaluation was conducted, which uncovered that Myrick hasn’t taken his psychiatric medication since December.

In April, Myrick told the court that he was receiving legal s=advice from former President Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden.

“I’m not the regular inmate. I be with Joe Biden and Donald Trump and they be talking to me,” Myrick said. “Donald Trump is going to get me out.”

Myrick’s charges in the RICO case include attempted murder, possession of a weapon by an incarcerated individual, participation in criminal street gang activity and conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. He was also one of two individuals accused of stabbing YFN Lucci last February while behind bars in Fulton County Jail. Prosecutors allege that the attack was sanctioned by Young Thug.

Te indictment originally named 28 co-defendants, which has now withered down to just ten.

Young Thug remains behind bars on eight charges, including including conspiracy to violate the RICO Act and participation in criminal street gang activity, along with various weapons and drug offenses.

Young Thug Co-Defendant Severed From YSL RICO After He’s Diagnosed With Schizophrenia

One of Young Thug’s defendants in the YSL RICO case will be tried separately after he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Jayden Myrick has been severed from the case after a mental evaluation that determined he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Myrick reportedly informed the judge that he hadn’t taken his psychiatric medication since December. Ultimately, Fulton County Judge Ural Glanville decided it would be best if Myrick would be tried separately. “I think severance would be appropriate at this point in time,” Judge Glanville ruled.

The decision comes shortly after Myrick told the court that he wanted to represent himself. In his bid, he claimed that President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump would help him in court. “I’m not the regular inmate. I be with Joe Biden and Donald Trump and they be talking to me,” Myrick said during the hearing. “Donald Trump is going to get me out.” Ultimately, this claim prompted Judge Ural Glanville to ask Myrick to undergo a mental evaluation.

Myrick’s facing some serious charges related to the YSL indictment. Prosecutors charged him with attempted murder and possession of a weapon by an incarcerated individual. Additionally, he faces charges of conspiracy to violate the RICO Act and participation in criminal street gang activity. He’s previously faced accusations of stabbing YFN Lucci in prison in Feb. ‘22, a crime which prosecutors claim Young Thug green-lit. Myrick was also convicted to a life sentence in October for the murder of Christian Broder.

Meanwhile, Young Thug continues to try and get bond in his case. His attorney Brian Steel filed a fourth motion for Thug’s release, claiming that the trial has impacted the rapper’s health negatively. Steel said Thug wakes up between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. each day for court while returning back to jail at late hours, leaving him “sleep deprived.” At this point, it’s unclear if the judge will grant Thug’s bond, especially after denying him three times in the past. The judge previously ruled that Thug is a flight risk. We’ll keep you posted on any more developments in Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial.

Young Thug Supposedly Listening To Lil Baby In Court

No matter what crazy court antic hits the YSL RICO case next, at least Young Thug has his headphones in on occasion to drown out the noise. Moreover, he was recently filmed singing along to an unspecified song during court proceedings. However, once fans pieced things together, they actually found that Thugger was rapping along to “Heyy” by close friend and frequent collaborator Lil Baby. Overall, with his hand motions and expressions in mind, at least it looked like he was enjoying himself as he recited the banger. Also, it’s good to see that he’s still bumping his fellow Atlanta MC during all his struggles.

Unfortunately, Young Thug’s relationship with other iconic collaborators is, at the very least, unclear. Furthermore, fans expressed confusion when they found that the “Metro Spider” artist linked Gunna’s latest album on his Instagram bio. Just when fans thought they reconciled after his plea deal, the link disappeared from the social media page altogether, which only added more fuel to that fire. Still, that could mean anything, and it’s also unclear who made that change on the account.

Lil Baby Says “Heyy” To Young Thug In Court

As far as Young Thug’s struggles, he reportedly faces pretty insufficient conditions in prison, raising concerns for his health. One of these crucial aspects is his nutrition, as the food at Fulton County Jail was deemed unhealthy by his attorney. Reportedly, he makes do with chocolate and chips to stay fed and full as he awaits his trial. In addition, complaints emerged surrounding limited access to sunlight, exercise, and other key components of mental and physical health. As such, his attorney Brian Steel recently filed a fourth motion of bond for the rapper, yet his previous attempts proved unsuccessful. Hopefully, if only for the sake of his health, this time will be different.

Meanwhile, Thugger’s older brother Unfoonk reportedly violated his plea deal conditions, resulting in another arrest. Without a doubt, plea deals have been at the center of most conversations surrounding this case. What’s clear is that, whether within or outside prison, Thug does have people rooting for him in the industry. Sometimes it takes a song to be reminded of that, especially when other factors become so complicated. Regardless, stay logged into HNHH for the latest news and updates concerning Young Thug.
