Waka Flocka Flame Opens Up About His Political Views and Endorsement of Trump

Roland Martin Calls Waka Flocka Vouching for Trump a 'Trash Endorsement'

Waka Flocka Flame, known for his high-energy performances and catch tracks, has never shied away from speaking his mind. However, the rapper recently took to Twitter to clarify his political stance, voicing support for Republican nominee Donald Trump and calling for civility in political discourse.

In a series of tweets on July 31, Waka explained his choice with a thoughtful perspective. “Trump still my president. I don’t have to stand with a red hat or dance or stage for money in my pockets… didn’t push me this direction… this is my choice,” he wrote. He emphasized that his political stance is personal and should not lead to disrespect or animosity towards those with differing views. “I choose not to eat pork but does that make me hate pork lovers or disrespect their character… nor will I act like [it does],” he continued.

Waka’s tweets expressed a desire for rights, freedom, equality, accountability for bad policing, and women’s rights, among other issues. “I just want my rights. My freedom, equality, men/women to pay for bad policing, women to have rights and make choices for self, teachers to be paid more, and the list goes on,” he asserted. “But hey I’m just a lil o entertainer with a micro voice I know no1 is listening.”

This explanation stands in stark contrast to the more aggressive endorsements of Trump by other rappers like Lil Pump, who has questioned the racial background of Vice President Kamala Harris. Waka’s plea for understanding is a change, but it does contradict his behavior during a recent concert.

On July 2, during a show in Utah, Waka Flocka Flame singled out Joe Biden supporters, mocking them and urging them to leave. “All Joe Biden voters, get out of my concert,” he declared. “We going to see y’all at the bingo game. We’re gonna party right now for motherf*cking president T24!” The footage from this incident went semi-viral, drawing criticism from fans who felt alienated.

It’s also worth noting that Waka Flocka Flame was recognized by the Trump administration back in 2021. He received a lifetime achievement award for his philanthropic work with the Chicago organization Daughter of Destiny, highlighting his commitment to making a positive impact beyond music.

By now, we’ve all seen that clip of rapper Waka Flocka Flame turning up at a music festival, after having mistaken a sign language interpreter for a dancer. In a recent interview with HipHopDX, Waka finally explained what happened in that moment, and how he eventually realized the lady on stage was a sign language interpreter.

“[I realized it was a sign language interpreter] right after the concert,” Waka said. “Yo, shout out to the deaf community as well, man. We actually got a movie coming in the ESPY Awards. We definitely got some sh*t coming. I love that community, by the way. Because that community taught me a lot. Now I know how to get around people that speak other languages.”

Waka didn’t explain what his upcoming film with the deaf community would entail, or how exactly it came about. But he did, however, share that he learned a lot from his viral moment. Notably, why the first rows of the festival audience always seem to be moving.

“I always wondered like why the front two to four rows of every festival be lit,” he added. “They be lit as f*ck, but nobody know by law you supposed to have that for the [deaf] community — so they going off vibrations! That’s why they moving! Oh, I definitely fell in love.”

Diplo, Rico Nasty, Tinashe, And More Will Get Terrorized In Season 6 Of ‘The Eric Andre Show’

Eric Andre returns to terrorize more unsuspecting guests in the sixth season of his Adult Swim talk show The Eric Andre Show. For those unfamiliar, the show revolves around a late-night talk format that goes left almost as soon as the guests set foot on the stage. Think of a prank show like the Impractical Jokers breaking out in the middle of an episode of Seth Myers, only it’s Seth doing the pranks, and they range from absurdist shenanigans to set-destroying mayhem.

Naturally, you’ve got to have guests who bring a certain amount of chaotic energy themselves (or play everything straight to offset Andre’s antics), and the season six trailer has plenty of those. Blac Chyna, Cypress Hill, Diplo, Jaleel White, Jon Hamm, Lil Yachty, Meagan Good, Natasha Lyonne, Rico Nasty, and Tinashe are all billed in the press release, along with “a host of other celebrities so big we legally can’t use them in promotions.”

Even Andre himself was dumbfounded by the roster of people who apparently either haven’t watched the show before or are game to put up with his provocations to promote their new projects. “Expect more deranged pranks, fire, and chaos in Season 666 with a jam-packed schedule of celebrities I can’t believe agreed to this,” he joked.
