Cardi B LAPD Drama Has Femcee’s Team Speaking Out: “There Is No Truth To This Story”

With a platform as large as the one Cardi B has amassed for herself comes a lot of responsibility. For the most part, the New Yorker chooses to use it wisely, though that’s not always the case. Earlier this week she stirred up conversation after going Live and talking about wanting to take legal action against the Los Angeles Police Department. “They had me outside for like three hours,” Cardi alleged.

“They had me getting butt-naked outside. S**t was [wild]. It was deada** a movie. I’m about to sue the LAP. I told them like, ‘Yo, I’m Cardi B. Do I look like I gotta sell some s**t? Like why would I do that? I would never pull no s**t like that,’” the Invasion of Privacy artist said. Elsewhere in her rant, the Hustlers actress claimed that White cops didn’t recognize her while conducting their search. “They was really tough on me and everything,” she vented.

Cardi B’s Debunked LAPD Allegations

They said somebody gave them a clue. I really feel like it was one of my opps and s**t, like they really trying to ruin my life. Like y’all don’t even f**king know. I been going through a lot lately.” Cardi revealed to her followers. After the LAPD denied the incident, on Wednesday (March 27), her team spoke out to clarify some online discourse. “This IG Live was taken out of context and there is no truth to this story,” reps for the former stripper told Billboard in a statement. “Apologies for any confusion,” they added.

Not everyone is impressed with Cardi B’s tall tale about her “run-in” with authorities this week, but one area where the mother of two rarely disappoints is fashion. She and her talented stylist Kollin Carter are the latest famous faces on The Hollywood Reporter‘s cover, taking us back in time through some of their best moments together. Shyne Nightclub Shooting Victim Says Diddy Is Responsible For Her Life-Changing 1999 Injuries

Sean “Diddy” Combs is learning the hard way these past few months that what’s done in the dark will always find a way to shine. Still, the Bad Boy mogul’s legal team continues to deny any rumoured wrongdoing on his behalf, even as all his alleged former skeletons fall out of the closet. Among them is a 1999 incident at a nightclub that led to the arrest of Jamal “Shyne” Barrow, Jennifer Lopez, and her then-beau Diddy, which the former ultimately served 10 years in prison for. As News Nation reports, the music executive was taken into custody on weapons charges at the time, and in 2008, victim Natania Reuben filed a $130M lawsuit for compensation against Combs. By summer 2011 they settled, though the survivor continues to insist it was Combs who shot her.

“I am the woman who he shot in the face in that Dec. 27, 1999, Club New York shooting. I have told everyone, ad nauseam, since then. I watched him fire the gun,” she shared on social media in February. More recently, she spoke with reporter Elizabeth Vargas about the situation. “I didn’t have any reason to believe that someone wouldn’t believe me. But as things unfolded, it was a very short period of time where I realized that’s what was happening,” the courageous woman shared.

Natania Reuben Speaks Her Truth Regarding Diddy Shyne Nightclub Shooting

Elsewhere, Reuben says she’s feeling “extremely emotional” amid the latest reports of Diddy’s homes being raided across the country. “It’s been basically a quarter of a century since this occurred, and I’ve had to re-live this over and over again,” the woman vented. “When I saw [the raids], it felt really cathartic because I finally feel like justice is being done.”

As authorities and internet sleuths continue to unravel the tangled web of Diddy’s many allegations, the latter is having a field day with the latest news about Yung Miami. According to the Lil Rod lawsuit, the City Girl was on her former Papi’s payroll as a sex worker, along with 50 Cent’s baby mama Daphne Joy. Read all about that at the link below, and let us know what you think is next for Sean Combs in the comments.

Tierra Whack & Flo Milli Liven Up Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

We’re halfway through a pretty stacked music month, so it’s no wonder we have plenty of heat to offer on our Fire Emoji playlist update rounding up the best fiery hip-hop releases this week. Leading the way is none other than Tierra Whack, who finally delivered her long-awaited album WORLD WIDE WHACK after a stellar but limited career so far. Fortunately, the Philly MC proves that the wait was worth it, thanks to subtle but compellingly introspective cuts like “DIFFICULT.” Another highlight here is the menacing and mid-tempo “SNAKE EYES,” which sees Tierra display a little more bravado and excel in the minimal trap lane.

Another big project that landed on our Fire Emoji radar this week was Flo Milli’s new album Fine H*, Stay. While there are a lot of catchy jams and notable features on this LP, none are quite as smooth, charismatic, or immediate as “Edible” featuring Gunna, who has a pretty animated performance. Wunna himself also dropped a track of his own this week titled “Prada Dem,” a woozy and engaging trap banger with Offset. Furthermore, the former Migo fits this vibe perfectly with some fast-moving flows.

HNHH Fire Emoji Playlist: Stream

Speaking of evolving flows and massive mainstream releases, Cardi B continues her rollout with her latest single “Enough (Miami).” It’s among the most simple and easily accessible offerings on Fire Emoji this week, but it’s nevertheless a pretty solid bar-up. On the opposite end of the spectrum, we have a hard-hitting, deeply personal, and vividly emotive track from Maxo Kream titled “No Then You A H*e.” It’s mostly dedicated to his late father, whose loss re-contextualizes much of his lyrical matter here in a powerful way.

Meanwhile, we wanted to shout out two more great full-lengths that dropped this week. Kenny Mason continues his impressive and no-miss streak with 9, on which “LUMINOUS” is an easy performance standout. Finally, we want to point to Chief Keef and Mike WiLL Made-It’s DIRTY NACHOS project, specifically the song “DOJA,” for your weekly banger fix. Let us know in the comments down below what your favorite Fire Emoji release was this week, as well as what we missed. Check out the playlist above and come back to HNHH for the latest great music drops around the clock.

Juvenile Says Lil Wayne & B.G. Need To “Simmer Down” Before Hot Boys Reunion

Fans have been hoping for a Hot Boys reunion for some time now, and it looks like it won’t be too long before it finally arrives. During a recent interview with TMZ, Juvenile provided an update on the eagerly-anticipated performance. While he didn’t unveil too many specifics, he did confirm that it’s definitely happening, so long as everything goes according to plan.

“No negativity from me, man,” he said of the reunion. “You know, with me, I’m always like, ‘It’s gon’ happen.’ It’s gonna happen. We gotta let them simmer down a little bit. But trust me though, it’s happening.” The performer seemed to be referencing B.G.’s Lil Wayne diss on his track with Finesse2tymes, “Gangstafied.” In the song, he refers to Weezy as a “b*tch,” though he later insisted that all is well between them.

Juvenile Claims Hot Boys Reunion Is “Gonna Happen”

“[You] don’t really understand what the f**k be going on, man,” B.G. told fans on Instagram Live in January. “You know what I’m saying? I tell a n***a I love him and call him a b***h all in the same sentence, man.” Luckily, it doesn’t appear as though Lil Wayne held the diss against him. The following month, he chatted about a potential reunion on YG’s 4HUNNID podcast, revealing that only a few logistical issues are holding them back at this point.

“We’ve spoken about it a few times but, you know, they have situations. Like B.G. just coming home so he gotta figure out: can he tour? Can he travel? And things like that,” he explained at the time. “Juvie ready and Turk ready, but really we gotta see if Geezy can move around.” What do you think of Juvenile’s latest update on a Hot Boys reunion? Are you looking forward to finally seeing it? What about his comment about everybody needing to “simmer down” ahead of time? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

ASAP Rocky Skips Status Hearing In His Assault Case With No Trial In Sight

ASAP Rocky chose to skip out on his status hearing on Wednesday (March 6), for whatever reason, and there is still no trial on the horizon for this assault case. Moreover, for those unaware, group colleague ASAP Relli accused him of shooting at him multiple times, and hitting him once, during a November 2021 confrontation in Hollywood. Now, though, it seems like this case is very much in limbo, and according to reporter Meghann Cuniff, no trial date was set during this hearing. However, the court did schedule a pre-trial hearing for May 26, so we’ll have to wait and see if someone budges before trial.

Furthermore, the last update we got on this case was ASAP Rocky’s not guilty plea and his lawyer Joe Tacopina’s assurance that they will prove his innocence. “We’re going to try the case in the courtroom,” he told reporters back in January of this year. “And when we do, facts will come out that show that he’s truly innocent. And that he’s a victim in this case.” L.A. County attorneys on the prosecution’s side had expressed to Judge Karla Kerlin that they weren’t anticipating a plea deal to sidestep a full trial.

ASAP Rocky At A Previous Court Hearing

ASAP Rocky Trial Assault Case Update Status Hearing Hip Hop News
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – AUGUST 17: Rapper A$AP Rocky pleads not guilty to assault charges during his arraignment hearing at Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center on August 17, 2022 in Los Angeles, California. [Authorities charged] A$AP Rocky, real name Rakim Mayers with two counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm stemming from a November 2021 incident in Hollywood. He remains free on $550,000 bond and is due back in court November 2. (Photo by Irfan Khan-Pool/Getty Images)

In addition, ASAP Rocky also has a highly anticipated album to make, but his family and this legal case have definitely become a lot to handle. Authorities arrested him over this incident in 2022 with two assault charges with a semi-automatic firearm. “Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offense that could have ended with tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood,” L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón remarked around this time. “My office conducted a thorough review of the evidence in this case. We determined that the addition of a special firearm allegation was warranted.”

Meanwhile, after a $550,000 bond, the “Gangsta” rapper and his team hope that September will be the start of the end. “We hope to be on trial by September in this case,” his lawyer shared. “I want to get this done and over with so he can start enjoying his family and move on.” If convicted, Rakim Mayers could face up to nine years behind bars. For more news and the latest updates on A$AP Rocky and this A$AP Relli case, come back to HNHH.

Chloe Bailey & 4batz Set The Vibes For Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

Our R&B Season playlist is back to round up some of the genre’s best adjacent releases of the week, and its first addition sets a moody tone moving forward. Moreover, 4batz continues his rise to the higher echelons of industry popularity with their new single, “act iii: on god? (she like).” It’s a pretty ethereal, melancholy, and slow-moving ballad that moves away from the rap fusions of previous singles like “act ii: date @ 8,” which is what we featured on here. Given the interesting dichotomy between his image and his actual vocal tone and singing style, this might go down as one of the most interesting careers to follow in 2024.

Furthermore, another great but more established artist on our R&B Season playlist update is Chloe Bailey, better known as Chlöe. Her new single “FYS,” or “F**k Your Status,” is a sultry and atmospheric offering that also goes in a slower and more drowsy direction. The In Pieces singer also moves between a couple of different-paced flows and deliveries to give some extra dynamism to the otherwise static and intoxicating sonic pallet. She already dropped a full-length last year, but fans hope that she reunites with her sister Halle for more music soon.

Meanwhile, the only project on display for this R&B Season playlist update is Kenyon Dixon’s new EP The R&B You Love: Soul Of The ’70s. It expands on his 2023 album, and features the gorgeous, tender, and romantic “Can I Have This Groove.” Not only that, but the project’s title is actually a really solid indicator of what this take on the genre sounds like if you’re familiar with 1970s releases. It may not move with the wildest progressions, but the musicianship and execution is sharp and locked in.

Finally, we wanted to shout out two more singles that you should give a try. “You Don’t Call Me” by PxRRY and featuring JON VINYL and Tone Stith, plus Honey Bxby and Busta Rhymes’ “Touchin’,” are two opposite ends of energy and vibrance that nail both approaches. Let us know what your favorite R&B Season inclusion was this week, plus what else we missed. Check out the playlist above and, as always, come back to HNHH for the latest great music drops around the clock.

ScHoolboy Q & Cardi B Bring Their Comebacks To Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

Welcome to March, whose quality as a hip-hop release month for 2024 is proven by our new Fire Emoji playlist update. We decided to round up the best of the best rap drops of the week, and leading the way is none other than ScHoolboy Q. The TDE MC released his first album in about five years, BLUE LIPS, and it’s got no shortage of tender, aggressive, and consistently compelling tracks. “oHio” featuring Freddie Gibbs, “THank god 4 me,” and “Pop” featuring Rico Nasty are all particularly hype and energetic cuts for you to check out. It stands as the best album to come out this week, and one of the year’s best so far.

Also on Fire Emoji is another comeback: the solo return of Cardi B with her new track, “Like What (Freestyle).” It’s a fiery set of bars over a classic Missy Elliot and Timbaland beat; what’s not to love ahead of the Bronx rapper’s next album? Speaking of new albums, though, we have to shout out That Mexican OT, who just released his latest full-length Texas Technician. The Moneybagg Yo-assisted “Twisting Fingers” is a Southern banger through and through, showing off a lot of chemistry and versatile flows.

Furthermore, we also wanted to point you to Meek Mill’s new EP HEATHENISM, on which “Giving Chanel” with Future is a particular standout. Thanks to a dramatic instrumental and relentless deliveries, it’s a pretty hard-hitting record with a grand feel. Another trunk-knocking release on Fire Emoji is Luh Tyler’s new single “Bad B***h“… what could it ever be about? Jokes aside, it’s a bass-heavy and fast-paced track with Tyler’s trademark nasal croons.

Meanwhile, as far as triumphant and evocative trap cuts, few ranked higher than 21 Lil Harold and BigXthaPlug’s “Gin & Juice.” Finally, we wanted to highlight Ransom, Harry Fraud, and Boldy James’ excellently lavish and lyrically evocative single, “Live from the Roxy.” Let us know what you favorite Fire Emoji release was this week -– and what else we missed, too. Check out the playlist above and stick around on HNHH for the latest great music drops around the clock.

SZA, SiR & Justin Timberlake Complete Our “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

There’s not a lot to cover on our R&B Season playlist update this week, but we still rounded up our absolute favorite drops this week for your convenience and pleasure. Leading the way is the brand-new track from SZA, “Saturn,” which she had previewed at the 2024 Grammy Awards and then released in multiple versions (sped-up, acapella, instrumental, etc.). With bright synth piano keys, a crisp and echoed percussive pattern, and the St. Louis native’s trademark buttery vocals, this song puts you in a trance very quickly. Although SOS dominated 2023, we’ll never complain about new Solana material to keep us under her spell, of which there should be more very soon.

In addition, we wanted to shout out the new single from Justin Timberlake, “Drown,” on our R&B Season playlist update. Whereas the pop star’s most famous material might be more bombastic and club-ready in many’s eyes (or ears, rather), this new song proves that some of his greatest strengths have always been in charismatic melodic performances, woozier tempos, and more intoxicating additions to a sonic atmosphere. Minimal drums, airy synth chords, and a measured but nevertheless engaging vocal performance make this a relatively dreamy cut. It does sound very clean and sanitized, but its adherence to R&B tropes and production, plus a nice beat variation, keep us listening.

Finally, we wanted to give the TDE crew special props on R&B Season, as label mates SiR and Isaiah Rashad dropped off another hazy track with “Karma.” This is another single for the former’s upcoming project, which is shaping up to be a low-key but well-crafted and highly compelling offering. With this new record, the two artists show off a lot of chemistry while lyrically diving into the concepts of karma and riding a dry but stankface-inducing drum beat with ease. We can’t wait for what’s next!

On that note, what was your favorite R&B Season cut this week? What else did we miss? Drop your thoughts in the comments down below and check out the playlist above. Also, as always, stick around on HNHH for the latest great music drops around the clock.

NBA YoungBoy’s Baby Mama Claims She Was Kidnapped On IG Live, Gives Update

NBA YoungBoy’s baby mama Arcola recently scared her Instagram followers when she went live seemingly from the trunk of a car. Moreover, she told the camera that she woke up in the dark space and couldn’t pull the visible latch to get out. It’s a very distressing clip to witness, so viewer discretion is advised, but she returned with some posts on her IG Story after the alleged kidnapping incident. “I’m ok,” Arcola wrote simply on the social media platform. “I am ok, it’s really me. The people close to me know I’m ok (that’s why my family haven’t posted me) I’m ok I swear.”

Furthermore, Arcola had previously defended NBA YoungBoy in his beefs on occasion, including an incident involving 600 Breezy and India Royale. “Don’t you got 3 triplets that you don’t take care of?” she tweeted at Breezy. “D**k riding is at an all time high rn. [You’re] loud and wrong. Dead beat is at an all time high. Not too much on him… child tf out ms mamas. B***h my bd is married I don’t want him clown. but when everybody think gone team up against him ima always have something to say.”

NBA YoungBoy’s Baby Mama Updates Kidnapping Situation

Regardless of her previous actions, it definitely doesn’t warrant a kidnapping, no matter NBA YoungBoy’s beefs or current relationship with her. Many folks wondered why Arcola didn’t just call the police instead of going live on Instagram, and the veracity of the incident and the subsequent updates is still under scrutiny. The “Steppa” MC’s baby mama seems alright now, but fans are still worried about this whole situation. They want answers to the debacle, as it’s a very heavy thing to play around with.

Meanwhile, in other YB news, he recently got some love from Floyd Mayweather, his other baby mama’s father. Even though the two families clashed in the past, it seems like they’re in a very good place right now. Let’s hope that the same is the case for his other families. Drake & Yeat Are Partying “As We Speak” On Our New Fire Emoji Playlist Update: Stream

February’s heating up as it wraps up, and our Fire Emoji playlist is here to round up the best new hip-hop that came out this week. Starting off with an extra addition to one of 2024’s best albums so far, Yeat and Drake teamed up once again for the 2093 cut, “As We Speak.” It’s a definite step-up from their previous track “IDGAF,” and pushes both of them in industrial new directions with a well-crafted and grand beat. Next up on this playlist is the return of Kodak Black with the single “Shampoo” following his arduous prison stint. It’s pretty much what you’d expect from a Yak cut, but hearing him re-energized in this way is quite gratifying.

Furthermore, we also want to shout out French Montana’s new album Mac & Cheese 5, whose many versions elicited jokes and mocking messages from fans. Regardless, “Where They At” is a grimy collaboration with none other than Kanye West and Westside Gunn that will probably make it up to fans. Elsewhere on Fire Emoji, there’s also the brand-new cut from Central Cee, the low-key and romantic “I Will.” On a similarly measured but much darker and pained note, Lil Durk shared his latest record, “Old Days.”

Also on Fire Emoji is a release from three artists that fans are begging for more from. The Free Nationals, Anderson .Paak, and A$AP Rocky teamed up for the unsurprisingly funky and charismatic “Gangsta,” and hopefully an album from any of these is soon to come. Even though Quavo isn’t in this situation, as he dropped an album last year, it was still great to hear him drop another loosie with this week’s “Himothy.” It’s a haunting trap beat with the Georgia trap icon’s signature flows, and they’re as engaging as they’ve ever been despite a rough mix.

Meanwhile, rounding out our update is the new cut from Ray Vaughn and Pusha T, the ambient but lyrically visceral “Problems.” Last but not least is Strick’s new gorgeous collaboration with Young Thug and James Blake, “KISSES MAKE SURE.” Let us know what your favorite Fire Emoji playlist addition was this week -– and what else we missed, too. Check it out above and, as always, come back to HNHH for the latest great music releases around the clock.
