Ice Spice, Future & Many More Headline Star-Studded “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

We’ve got a whole lot of amazing hip-hop to cover this week, and our new Fire Emoji playlist update is here to take you through the best of the best. Leading the way is a wildly anticipated new remix, Cash Cobain’s “Fisherr” reimagining featuring Ice Spice, and Bay Swag. With some new auto-tuned vocal stylings from the Bronx MC, plus catchy Cobain refrains, this has the potential to be one of the most low-key bangers of the summer. Next up is the new cut from Nardo Wick, Future, and Southside, “Back To Back.” It’s exactly the kind of murderous, menacing, and minimal trap that Wick’s been hard at work with across his other hits.

Speaking of Southside, he produced the hard-hitting and almost creepy new single from Destroy Lonely and Ken Carson, “President.” Furthermore, another Fire Emoji highlight this week is Killer Mike, Offset, and Blxst’s “EXIT 9,” which pays tribute to the late Dungeon Family legend Rico Wade. ‘Set adds a nice and heartening verse to this MICHAEL cut from last year, and the updated Mike verse is also a great touch. On a similarly melancholy tip, Foggieraw tapped Ari Lennox for the chilled-out, ethereal, and lustful “Stay Awhile.”

Another Fire Emoji breather comes in the form of a talent-heavy track: Saba, No ID, Jordan Ward, Madison McFerrin, and Ogi’s “head.rap.” It’s another relaxing single that still packs a lyrical punch and shows off a lot of chemistry between all these artists. Gucci Mane’s “TakeDat,” however, is a borderline comical diss track that tries to manifest as little chemistry between Guwop and Sean Combs as possible given the latter’s alleged controversies. Getting into some of this week’s projects, “Mike Jack” with G Herbo and Rob49 is a gritty standout on Skilla Baby’s new album The Coldest.

Meanwhile, AG Club’s new LP BRODIE WORLD offers a lot of fun bangers like “Barry,” so don’t let it fall under your radar. Finally, we wanted to shout out Anycia’s new full-length PRINCESS POP THAT and point you to “THAT’S HARD” with Cash Cobain as an excellent taster. Let us know what your favorite Fire Emoji release was this week, as well as what else we missed, in the comments section down below. Check the playlist out above and log back into HNHH for more outstanding music drops around the clock.

Metro Boomin Shares Cryptic Update On “Savage Mode III” With 21 Savage

Fans have been eagerly awaiting Metro Boomin and 21 Savage’s Savage Mode III since the original collaborative EP’s sequel came out in 2020. Fortunately, it looks like they may not have to wait too much longer. During a recent interview with XXL, the award-winning producer gave listeners a highly requested update on the project. According to him, fans “just got to stay tuned.”

Any update on the project is certainly exciting for the duo’s fanbase. His response, however, still leaves many questions to be answered. When asked why he’s keeping so quiet on the status of the project, his response was simple. “I don’t talk much so I don’t get fined,” he said. It remains unclear exactly who Metro is worried about getting a fine from.

Metro Boomin Says He Doesn’t Talk Much So He Won’t Get Fined

Of course, Metro Boomin’s latest update on Savage Mode III has also sparked some conversation around his relationship with 21 Savage. The update comes only weeks after his Her Loss collaborator Drake was dissed on Metro’s collaborative album We Don’t Trust You with Future, as well as its sequel We Still Don’t Trust You. It’s to be seen whether or not 21 would be willing to put out a project with Metro so soon after that whole debacle, particularly considering all of the drama that’s unfolded as a result. With that being said, J. Cole hopped on Metro and Future’s sequel after Drake and himself were dissed on the original, so it appears as though nothing is totally off the table.

What do you think of Metro Boomin claiming that fans should “stay tuned” for more news about his collaborative project with 21 Savage, Savage Mode III? Are you looking forward to hearing it? What about him claiming that he’s not saying too much to avoid getting fined? Who do you think he’s worried about getting a fine from? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Kid Cudi Updates Fans After Breaking His Foot At Coachella: Watch

Kid Cudi had a great time at Coachella this Sunday (April 21)… for a little bit, at least. Unfortunately, his set was cut short after he fell while performing and broke something in his heel, which a lot of fans were obviously very concerned with. Moreover, some expressed disappointment in the Cleveland creative for not sticking around or for falling in the first place, but the general sentiment is that these things can happen to anyone. Thus, folks sent him their best wishes, and his die-hards waited patiently for an update. The 40-year-old then took to social media with an update for fans with the caption “Hello there.”

“Hey, guys… Yeah, s**t got real yesterday,” Kid Cudi began his message below, indicating that he’s in good spirits and still recovering. “This is what happens when a 40-year-old man tries to prance around off stage like he’s 26. Like he used to do back in the day. I learned a valuable lesson: No more prancing around, jumping off stages.” We’re sure that he will reflect a lot on this time of his life in his upcoming memoir.

Kid Cudi Gives Update On His Broken Foot: Watch

Then, Kid Cudi expressed hope that he will fully recover by the time his INSANO tour kicks off in late June of this year. “I don’t want to let you guys down,” he shared “That’s what we’re aiming for. Not canceling anything just yet. Just gonna wait and see how things go, but I’m okay. A little sore. Yesterday, a lot of pain, but I’m doing better now. I have a little temporary cast on now, and I gotta go get a real cast in a little bit. Apparently, I broke something in my heel.

“This is a major setback, but don’t worry. I’ma bounce back,” Mr. Rager continued. “I love y’all. All day. Engage the rage. But not at 40.” At least he has his engagement to look forward to as well! For more news and the latest updates on Kid Cudi, stay posted on HNHH.

Boosie Badazz & His Girlfriend Free To Communicate After Judge Modifies His Release Conditions

The past few months have been full of ups and downs for Boosie Badazz. Luckily, there’s been an exciting update in the rapper’s ongoing legal battle. According to legal reporter Meghann Cuniff, a judge has modify the conditions of his release. This will allow him to communicate with his girlfriend Rajel Nelson. Before, Boosie had a no-contact order due to security concerns, reportedly keeping the two of them apart since June of 2023. He filed a motion to change it in January, but at the time, the judge extended it by 60 days.

The Lousiana-born performer shared their marriage plans when he filed the motion, telling the judge that they planned to tie the knot in April. It remains unclear whether or not they still plan to marry, or if they’ll fit it in this month. Either way, it’s an exciting development for both Boosie and Rajel.

Judge Modifies Boosie Badazz’s Release Conditions

Boosie’s case stems from his 2023 arrest on federal gun charges. He was taken into custody after authorities saw him filming a music video on Instagram Live with a gun allegedly in his waistband. The case was dismissed on a local level, then it moved to a federal level, and he was charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. As for Boosie’s girlfriend Rajel, she’s an actress, influencer, model, and brand ambassador for Fashion Nova Men.

While things appear to be looking up for Boosie in terms of his love life, not everything has been smooth sailing for the MC. Over the weekend, his daughter Tori took to Instagram Live to open up about their relationship, revealing that it’s still rocky. According to her, she no longer feels as though she “needs” him anymore. What do you think of Boosie Badazz now being allowed to communicate with his girlfriend, Rajel Nelson? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Tyler The Creator Speaks On Frank Ocean’s Elusive Nature During Coachella Set

Someone tell Frank Ocean to call Tyler The Creator, because it seems like he’s been lost for a long time. Ironically enough, among his last notable “public” appearances arrived on T’s 2021 album CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST for the outro of the track “LEMONHEAD” with 42 Dugg, on which he provided some spoken word. Needless to say, the Blonde crooner has had fans demanding a new album (or anything, at this point), for years now. It’s a notorious choice that his former Odd Future partner commented on during his Week Two set at Coachella on Saturday (April 20) following an incredible Week One showing.

“Y’all know this song?” Tyler, The Creator asked the crowd as the instrumental for his 2011 Goblin collab with Frank Ocean, “She,” played in the background. “Oh, sing the song, ’cause this n***a not coming out. We don’t… We don’t know where that n***a is, so… It’s on y’all. You know it?” Considering the special guests that T brought out last weekend (Childish Gambino, A$AP Rocky, Kali Uchis, and Charlie Wilson), plus Frank’s own controversial Coachella performance last year, many fans had hoped that this could be a big moment.

Tyler The Creator Doesn’t Know Where Frank Ocean Is, And Neither Does Anyone, Apparently

But at the end of the day, no one should be complaining about any of this. Frank Ocean didn’t suddenly disappear as a chronically online artist in the first place, and even though his absence definitely hits hard and receives legitimate qualms from his die-hards, who can really blame him for avoiding the spotlight as one of the best (and therefore most under-pressure and sought-after) artists today? As for Tyler, The Creator, who had mentioned using up all his phone calls for Week One, he did bring out another OF alum much to the crowd’s delight: Earl Sweatshirt. They performed their 2009 Bastard collab “A**Milk,” the first live performance of this track since 2014, and the 2013 Wolf standout “Rusty.” It was a very wholesome moment between two longtime friends.

“EarlWolf” Pops Out For Coachella Week Two: Watch

“My motherf***ing brother,” the “CORSO” MC said of Earl. “Y’all n***as don’t know. I love this guy so f***ing much.” Considering how close and proud much of Odd Future seems to be to this day, we’re sure they have similar words for Frank, as well. For (hopefully) more news on Frank Ocean and the latest updates on Tyler, The Creator, come back to HNHH.

Drake & Rick Ross’ Beef Feeds Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

Things couldn’t be any hotter in hip-hop right now, so it’s a good thing that our Fire Emoji playlist update is here to round up the best of the best that rap music had to offer this week. Moreover, two huge releases on streaming over the past week form part of the talk of the town: the civil war between Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Future, and so many more (even Ye is allegedly in the mix now with a possibly leaked “Like That” remix). Specifically, though, we wanted to shout out Drizzy’s “Push Ups” finally arriving on streaming services, as well as Rozay’s “Champagne Moments” with its quick response to that track “leaking” online.

But let’s forget about the beef for a second and… oh, wait, Breezy is in a feud with Quavo right now, too?! Well, regardless, his appearance alongside Travis Scott and Sexyy Red on Nicki Minaj’s “FTCU (Sleeze Mix)” doesn’t rope that into the track. Instead, all MCs provide pretty unique and great performances in their own right over this simple but effective beat courtesy of ATL Jacob and Southside. It’s probably the most straightforward banger on Fire Emoji this week, especially thanks to its star-studded nature.

HNHH Fire Emoji Playlist: Stream

Next on this playlist update is what might be the best pound-for-pound hip-hop drop this week. Heads I Win, Tails You Lose is a grimy, concise, and unsurprisingly impressive comeback album from Gangrene (comprised of producer/rapper The Alchemist and rapper/producer Oh No). With highlights like “Cloud Surfing” and killer features from Boldy James and more, the duo provides relentless rhyme schemes, vivid imagery, and a whole lot of confident bravado with one of the more old-school-sounding pallets that Uncle Al’s worked with for a minute. He’s capable of pretty much everything, so if you’re looking for some hearty helpings of beats and rhymes on Fire Emoji, we’d highly recommend this.

Finally, we wanted to shout out two other big singles with a lot of anticipation as to what will come from them. Headie One is coming out with a new project soon, and dropped the wavy but immediate single “Cry No More” with Stormzy and Tay Keith. Also, Cash Cobain is really hitting it big with his February single “Fisherr” with Bay Swag, and this virality has apparently led to an Ice Spice remix dropping very soon. Let us know what your favorite release on Fire Emoji was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments below. Check it out above and, as always, check back in with HNHH for the latest great music drops around the clock.

PARTYNEXTDOOR & Tinashe Prove Their Stardom On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

We’re almost a third of the way through 2024, and ahead of the summer, it looks like we’ll be getting even more amazing music. Moreover, we’ve got our newest update of our R&B Season playlist, rounding up the best the genre’s sphere of influence had to offer this week. First up is PARTYNEXTDOOR, who’s continuing to build up a lot of hype for his next album dropping very soon. This time, it’s via the slow-burning and DMX-sampling “Lose My Mind,” which is pretty much exactly what fans expect from the OVO crooner. The vocal performance is dynamic, the instrumental is sultrily atmospheric, and it indicates that P4 will be a fitting return for his style.

Next up on R&B Season this week is the “Nasty” new single from Tinashe, which is a more cheekily seductive and playful cut compared to “Lose My Mind.” Furthermore, the melodies are well-defined, catchy, and paired with a minimal but still bouncy beat. Along a similarly fun vein that’s more perky than provocative, we have the latest cut from Jordan Ward, “Player Two,” from the Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead remake film. The main draws here are the St. Louis talent’s charisma and the tight musicianship on display, creating a bubbly and sunny vibe that we can’t get enough of.

As for, in our opinion, the best R&B-related material to drop this week, we have to shout out Baby Rose’s collaborative EP with BADBADNOTGOOD, Slow Burn. Through six gorgeous cuts of deep but tender vocal showings and crisp, soulful instrumentation, their talents mix seamlessly for a warm and comforting experience. Check out “Caroline” if you want a taste. Speaking of projects, we have to shout out the vibrant and effortlessly genre-fusing debut album from Nia Archives, Silence Is Loud. If you want to see just how simultaneously frenetic and chilled-out her skills can go, we’d specifically recommend the song “Cards On The Table.”

Elsewhere, we also want to name “Run Away” featuring Bryson Tiller as one of the most chemistry-filled cuts on Chris Brown’s 11:11 deluxe album. Last but not least, a shoutout is in order for WILLOW’s jazzy yet hard-hitting single, “big feelings.” Let us know in the comments down below what your favorite R&B Season pick was this week, as well as what other releases we missed. Check out the playlist above and, as always, come back to HNHH for the latest great music drops around the clock.

Tory Lanez Update: Mario Reveals How He Was Doing Last Time They Spoke

Mario provided an update on Tory Lanez during an interview with Action Entertainment as the rapper is serving 10 years in prison for the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. He says the two “spoke a few months ago,” and that he’s doing “good.” Lanez was found guilty of first-degree assault with a firearm, discharge of a firearm with gross negligence, and having a concealed firearm in a vehicle back in 2023.

Elsewhere in the interview, Mario predicted that Lanez will have music ready to go when he gets out. “When he comes back out, he gon’ probably put another… he gon’ go crazy when he comes out. I already know,” he said. “You already know how Tory is. He gon’ go crazy with the music.” When someone off camera praised Lanez, Mario added: “He’s one of the greatest writers of our generation, as far as urban music… He’s a great storyteller. Tory is incredible. He’s fire.”

Mario previously came to Lanez’s defense ahead of his sentencing by pleading with the judge to be lenient in a letter. “My name is Mario Berrett, and I am a recording artist and business man. I am good friends with Tory Lanez and have known Tory for over seven years,” he wrote. “One of the things I love about Tory the most is how deeply he cares about his family… Growing up without a father, I admired that he was fortunate enough to grow up with his. Those conversations revealed how much of a standup person Tory is.”

Bryson Tiller Is Finally Back On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

HotNewHipHop‘s R&B Season playlist update is back, rounding up some of the best genre-adjacent releases of the week for your convenience. Leading the pack is the brand new self-titled album from Bryson Tiller, on which there are many different highlights to name. Particularly, though, we wanted to show love to two tracks that contributed to this comeback’s fulfilling and impressive nature. Victoria Monét adds her gorgeous vocals to the bass-heavy, smooth, and chemistry-filled “Persuasion,” a fitting title for such an intoxicating cut. Another highlight is “Assume The Position,” which takes more of a dance-inspired direction with warped vocal chops and a solid house rhythm.

Meanwhile, another R&B Season standout this week was Kehlani’s “After Hours,” which is a creative and much more wavy flip of Nina Sky’s 2004 classic “Move Ya Body.” It takes on a much more tropical and vibrant instrumental pallet than the original, making for a sultry and breezy effort. While it’s not the most mind-blowing vocal performance on the planet, the song definitely succeeds in its mission to put you in a vibe. All we can hope for is that there’s more great material where this came from for 2024.

As for a more up-and-coming star still making his mark, 4batz just dropped his On The Radar freestyle “put yo gun 2 use.” Compared to the high-pitched, moody, and nocturnal sound offered on his previous singles, this is a much more light, sunny, and measured cut on R&B Season that still retains the mystery and wooziness behind his artistry. The drums on here feel particularly crisp and overwhelming in the mix (and sound like the same ones used on classic cuts like Slick Rick’s “Children’s Story”), and some vocal harmonies and additional refrains make this more dynamic than a standard off-top performance. Overall, it’s nice to hear this evolution.

Finally, we wanted to shout out Khalid’s melancholy and slow-burning single “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me” for its emotional resonance and dreamy atmosphere. Let us know down in the comments section below what your favorite R&B Season release was this week. Also, let us know what else we missed from this week. Cardi B 2018 Assault Case: Alleged Victim Says Femcee’s “Celebrity Status” Cost Her A Job

Cardi B is a proud mother of two beautiful children, Kulture and Wave, who she’ll do anything to protect. Her maternal instinct kicked in before her oldest was born, as you may recall from a messy incident that stems back to 2018. At the time, the rising rap diva was leaving a doctor’s appointment when a security guard named Emani Ellis spotted Cardi and allegedly began recording her. Only a few months pregnant at the time, the East Coast icon was feeling particularly vulnerable. Ellis claims that she “struck her head, face, and body,” using her “long fingernails” to cause “facial injuries” that required cosmetic surgery.

“[Cardi] was the aggressor and attacked [Ellis] while she was employed as a security guard. Defendant was not injured in this incident,” a newly filed motion obtained by Radar Online says. “Defendant’s intention was to cause injuries to Plaintiff so she could not return to work. Defendant even used her celebrity status to get Plaintiff fired from her post as a security guard.”

“Defendant by threats, coercion, intimidation, physical force including assault & battery, prevented Plaintiff from returning to work as a security guard, which was something she had a right to do under the law,” the new documents continue. At the time (February 2018), Cardi hadn’t told her millions of followers about her pregnancy. As a result, she was clearly on high alert about protecting her family’s privacy. She and Ellis will be heading to court for trial on May 31, according to the outlet.
