Coi Leray Previews Mike WiLL Made-It-Produced EP With Title Track “Lemon Cars”

About 24 hours ago, Massachusetts rapper and singer Coi Leray was going a little viral after The Neighborhood Talk shared a video of her showing off her stripper moves. It turns out that it was a music video shoot for a new single. The track is called “Lemon Drop,” and it is the title track for a new collaborative EP between Coi Leray and a famous producer. She has worked with some of the very best, and in this case it is Mike WiLL Made-It.

According to Rap-Up, the project will be executive produced by the Marietta, Georgia native. Additionally, the new offering, which will follow-up another Coi Leray, Blue Moon, will drop on May 24. There is a strong possibility that the singles “Wanna Come Thru” and “Can’t Come Back,” will make the cut too. “Lemon Cars,” sees Leray lay down some auto-tuned singing over a dreamy instrumental about being a party girl.

RXKNephew Teases New LP With “Money Can’t Replace Time”

New York hip-hop — as every fan of the genre knows — is extremely diverse. One artist that is contributing to the colorful scenery out East is underground rapper RXKNephew. You would be hard pressed to find someone who has a larger discography than this man has since he began his career in 2019. In just five months, the off-kilter MC has dropped six(!) tapes already. Even NBA YoungBoy is not doing those kinds of numbers that early on. What is even more shocking is that he is nowhere near done. According to Stereogum, the “Critical” creator is gearing up for another project that will be out by the end of the month. To promote Till I’m Dead 2, RXKNephew is back with “Money Can’t Replace Time.”

If that title rings a bell, that is because this will be a sequel to his so called “debut LP” Till I’m Dead. That released a little over a year ago, March 10 to be exact. As we mentioned at the beginning, RXKNephew is does like to do things by the book. It is a tongue in cheek rendition of Mariah Carey’s classic, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” That is all we want to reveal to you for now. But as for “Money Can’t Replace Time,” it is definitely a much safer and toned-down approach to what he considers normal. His flows match the tempo of the production, whereas before he would have a Blueface mindset of rapping off beat. All in all, it is a solid release from the prolific personality.

Dave East Teases Another New Tape With Hustler Anthem “SO MUCH CHANGED” Assisted By Mike & Keys & Stacy Barthe

Dave East is one of New York’s hardest working rappers going right now and “SO MUCH CHANGED” shows that blue-collar mentality tenfold. This is the Harlem resident’s latest release, and it doubles as a lead single for yet another new project. The “Phone Jumpin” artist is teaming up with a new producer this time around for Apt 6E. This time around, Harry Fraud of 2 Piece is being replaced by the equally talented duo Mike & Keys.

There is no release date yet, but hopefully the gap in between this single and the final product will not be too unbearable. Also joining Dave East on this effort is frequent rap chorus expert and singer Stacy Barthe. Many hip-hop heads will remember her most for her beautiful contributions to the late Nipsey Hussle track “Victory Lap.” On “SO MUCH CHANGED,” Dave raps with a lot of passion and at a perfect pace to boot.

You can almost hear a bit of Tupac’s influence shining through from the flow side of things. East was clearly not shy to pay homage to one of the pillars of the genre in a promotional IG post for the track. “Rest In Paradise Tupac Amaru Shakur,” East wrote. All of the elements are working in harmony on this gritty track, especially the bouncy and punchy Mike & Keys beat.

Kevin Abstract & Lil Nas X Break Out Their Previously Teased Collaboration “Tennessee”

Did you ever expect to hear Lil Nas X and Kevin Abstract of BROCKHAMPTON fame on one track? Well, we certainly did not have that on our bingo card going into 2024, but here we are. Two of the more prominent figures in the LGBTQ+ hip-hop community are teaming up for what appears to be the beginning of another album rollout for Kevin. Late last year, he made his solo return after four years with his indie record Blanket.

Now, according to Genius, the Texas singer and rapper will be coming through with a project with the rumored title being glue. It does not have a release date, other than it is expected sometime this year. This alleged lead single “Tennessee” sees Kevin Abstract and Lil Nas X fully embracing their homosexuality and how their partners love all that comes with them. The raunchy track was produced by Kevin and Quadeca as well.

According to Yahoo Entertainment, this song was previewed during the second weekend of Coachella just a couple of weeks ago. Both went onstage to perform, and even though we did not pick up on this, they have been close for a long time. Another fun fact is that they actually attended the same Georgia high school but were not aware of each other until they both became the respective stars that they are. YG Drops A Speaker “KNOCKA” With New Single

YG was one of the hottest names out of California when he came up in the early 2010s. He was celebrated — deservedly so — for projects like My Krazy Life and Still Brazy. Each provided tons of bangers and some terrific G-funk nods. However, his last few records such as STAY DANGEROUS, I GOT ISSUES, and etc. have not been nearly talked about as much. But YG is proving that he still has plenty left in the tank with “KNOCKA.”

This is his first solo release since 2022’s “Miss My Dawgs” with Lil Wayne. Over the last year or so, his singles have been collaborations with Tyga mainly. Tracks like “Brand New,” “PLATINUM,” and “PARTy T1M3” were all for their 2023 team effort Hit Me When U Leave The Klub: The Playlist. But “KNOCKA,” according to Genius, is looking to be a promotional teaser for Just Re’d Up 3.

They believe it will arrive sometime in July of this year and it would be following up the second entry in the series which dropped back in 2013. On “KNOCKA,” YG is rapping with a lot of energy like always, but his flow may be the most impressive part. Midwxst & DC The Don Reunite For Reflective Single “FIRE”

If we had to name artists that impressed us thoroughly in 2023, it would be a pretty long list. One of them we would have to include would be midwxst. He is not necessarily a new kid on the block, but he definitely snuck up on us. Last year, the Indiana multi-hyphenate went and dropped his debut album E3 and it saw him operate in the lanes of hyper pop, R&B, hip-hop, and etc. He really went for it all and it paid off. Fairly soon, he will be following that up with another project sometime this year and to promote it, midwxst is back with a new single “FIRE.”

This is not the first track that is rumored to be on BACK IN ACTION 4.0. In late February, midwxst dropped “mistakes” with 9lives, which was a cut about toxic relationships. Similarly, “FIRE” explores those themes, but also sees him reflect on how he has been struggling to feel happy with himself. He is also having a hard time admitting his faults, especially when he says, “I’ve had problems since I was a youngin’ / Need to cut out the lies and the frontin’.”

Like “mistakes,” midwxst has decided to tap a guest. This time fellow emo rapper and singer DC The Don is joining him. These two have a solid work history together, featuring on a couple of songs for each other. Montell Fish Along With Second Alias DJ Gummy Bear, Tease Upcoming EP With “Irrational”

Montell Fish is an exciting and enticing artist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that is always mixing things up. It is a big reason why he has becoming popular but yet still flies under the radar. He likes to experiment with separate genres such as lo-fi soft pop, chill hip-hop, and R&B. It is quite the mouthful, but it leads to some excellent pieces of music. Today, we are covering Montell Fish and dj gummy bear’s new collaborative single “Irrational.”

However, dj gummy bear is not a separate entity entirely. Essentially, he is a second alias of Montell Fish. According to the Spotify profile, he is “a character from the brain of Montell Fish. Used as a way to further experiment with sounds, concepts, and musical ideas.” This single has a strong dance/lo-fi feel to it with its steady and fast-paced drums. Montell also takes the reins on production here.

Without a doubt, Mike WiLL Made-It and Chief Keef are some of the most respected artists we have in modern hip-hop. Both have contributed immensely to the trap rap/pop rap subgenres for over two decades. Each have worked with the best of the best and have numerous classics under their belts. However, these two do not have the most work experience as a duo. But, that is all changing in a couple of days. From numerous sources, as well as Mike’s Instagram, we have word that he and Chief Keef will be dropping a mixtape called DIRTY NACHOS.

We originally reported that the lead single for this new team effort would actually be previewing Almighty So 2. This has been a project that Keef’s fans have been eager to get their hands on for years. The first Almighty So dropped back in 2013 and there are rumors that its sequel will be out by March 29. Hopefully, that rings true. But for now, we are getting more music from the rapper and producer duo.

Instead of it being for the Almighty So 2 project, “DIRTY NACHOS” will be for the mixtape of the same name. Fans can expect it to be out this Friday, March 15.
