DaBaby Defends Decision Not To Choose Between Megan Thee Stallion & GloRilla On “Drink Champs”

During his recent appearance on Drink Champs, DaBaby was asked to pick between Megan Thee Stallion, and ultimately decided on both. The rapper explained that despite his past issues with Meg, he’d be open to working with her in the future, and thinks her “HOW I LOOK” collaborator might be the perfect addition.

“I got love for Meg,” he said at the time. “Me and Meg did some dope sh*t together. And it’s good to see her rise amongst the obstacles. I’m manifesting a song with Glo and Meg together and Baby. I think that’s the way me and Meg should pop back out. Because I feel like ain’t none of these n****s — and no disrespect — that y’all are making music with can really embody that.”

DaBaby Says He Was Trying To Keep It Positive

Considering his rocky past with Meg, his answer took some viewers by surprise. According to him, however, he was simply trying to avoid any drama that would have come out of him ranking one femcee above the other. “I understand your perspective but honestly I just wanted to avoid putting one of the ladies above the other and give love & respect to both of em. I know the drama n sh*t more entertaining, but I done learned that if ima say anything ima make sure it’s sumn positive. Don’t overthink it world,” he explained in a Tweet.

In another Tweet, DaBaby described how he’s no longer interested in any sort of controversy. “Them days of baiting me into the bullsh*t OVER WIT,” he said. “I ain’t got nothing for ya but good music and entertainment. controversy & violence done cost me enough.” What do you think of DaBaby’s decision not to pick between Megan Thee Stallion during his recent Drink Champs interview? Pusha T Pays Tribute To Legendary Producer DJ Clark Kent

DJ Clark Kent is a hip hop legend. He may not have pedigree of someone like RZA or DJ Premier, but the producer worked with some of the most iconic musical acts of the 1990s. He was instrumental in helping shape the careers of JAY-Z, Lil’ Kim and The Notorious B.I.G. Kent also produced hits for the likes of 50 Cent and Mariah Carey. DJ Clark Kent died on October 25 at the age of 58. Several fans paid respects to the producer via social media, but Pusha T was one of the biggest names who tributed Kent on Twitter.

Pusha T posted 3 prayer hands emojis over a tweet confirming DJ Clark Kent’s death. The two men may have never worked together, but they shared an immense respect for one another over the years. Pusha T talked about Kent during a 2023 interview, in which he cited the influence of the East Coast rappers he worked with. DJ Clark Kent gave Pusha T his flowers well before that. During a 2015 interview with itsthe real, the DJ asserted that other rappers should be afraid of Pusha. He also revealed that he spoke with the rapper on a regular basis.

Pusha T And DJ Clark Kent Spoke Regularly

“Rappers,” Kent said to the camera. “Do not f*ck with Pusha T. He has at least 30 verses for every single one of you. And all of y’all in his crew. Trust me, I speak to him.” DJ Clark Kent also noted that the appeal of Pusha T for listeners is that he’s maintained his underdog status despite his tremendous success. He also doubled down on his advice. “Leave his name out of all of you rapper’s mouth,” he reasserted. “He is dangerous. F*ck any record that he’s done. I’m glad I don’t rap.” The interview predates the infamous beef between Pusha T and Drake, but DJ Clark Kent proved to be absolutely right.

Pusha T has been doing plenty of looking back as of late. The rapper appeared, in LEGO form, in the new Pharrell Williams biopic Piece by Piece. He’s also slated to co-headline the upcoming Clipse album. It will be the first new Clipse release since 2009, and will see him formally reunite with his brother No Malice. It remains to be seen whether Push will pay tribute to DJ Clark Kent in the form of song, but it’s obvious the loss was felt. RIP.

DJ Vlad Calls Lil Durk “Stupid” After Rapper’s Murder-For-Hire Charge

DJ Vlad is a polarizing figure in the hip hop. Like Adam22, Vlad is widely criticized for exploiting the culture, and its accompanying violence, for online engagement. This has not stopped him, of course, from covering hip hop feuds and legal cases involving rappers. Lil Durk is a prime example of DJ Vlad subject matter. The rapper was arrested and charged with murder-for-hire in Florida. The rapper is alleged to have been involved in an attempt on Quando Rondo’s life. And DJ Vlad can’t believe it.

DJ Vlad took to Twitter following Durk’s arrest, and proceeded to blast the rapper for his alleged actions. He called the rapper “stupid” for going about the alleged hit in such an easily traceable manner. “Lil Durk was actually stupid enough to send 5 guys on a plane to kill Quando Rondo,” DJ Vlad wrote. “They ended up killing the wrong person. And now, all 6 of them are facing life in prison or even the death penalty.” DJ Vlad went on to note that he never envisioned a world in which people would travel to allegedly kill their target.

DJ Vlad Does Not Have Sympathy For Lil Durk

“In multiple interviews, I’ve said that nobody would get on a plane to kill you,” DJ Vlad noted. “I said this because there would be so much evidence that they’re guaranteeing prison. Today, I was proven wrong.” This is not the first time that DJ Vlad has run afoul of Lil Durk and his fans. Durk actually dissed Vlad on the song “Golden Cut.” It was unclear what the issue was between the two men, but DJ Akademiks set the record straight during a 2023 interview. Ak recounted a request that Lil Durk made after he gave an interview to DJ Vlad, but Vlad reportedly ignored it.

“[Durk] said the reason is: ‘I did an interview with Vlad and there was a part of the interview I mentioned the upcoming birth of my child,’” Akademiks stated. And that was with India and he apparently had asked you to take it out… Interview comes out and that part wasn’t taken out.” DJ Vlad clarified that there was a miscommunication between him and his editing team. He then took the opportunity to apologize to Durk and his partner regarding the mistake. It doesn’t sound like there will be any apologizes issued over this latest insult, though.

Cardi B Wishes For Offset’s Death In Blistering Twitter Meltdown

Cardi B and Offset don’t get along. It’s a fact at this point. The two rappers may have children together, but there is nothing civil about their interactions in 2024. They set the internet on fire a few weeks ago, when they decided to air their dirty laundry on Instagram Live. Fans everywhere thought they had seen the worst of the Cardi B and Offset saga. Cardi decided to prove us all wrong on October 22. Seemingly out of nowhere, the “WAP” rapper went on a multi-tweet rant in which she said made absolutely brutal comments about her ex.

Cardi B came in hot, claiming that she genuinely hates Offset after everything they’ve been through. “Bro I wish the worst on this man,” she asserted. “I never hated somebody soooo much and these b*tches be so [thirsty] to have him.” Cardi then referred to the father of her children as “garbage,” and asked women to take him off of her hands. “Please take this man off my hands this garbage bag is to heavy,” she wrote. Cardi B had plenty more to say, though. “Fans tweeted at her to speak more positively about Offset, but it did not take. “I truly hate this dirty a*s narcissistic piece of sh*t,” she added. “And his family and his friends never check him.” Then, the rapper dropped a bomb.

Cardi B Claimed Offset Was An Unchecked ‘Narcissist’

Another user suggested that Cardi B still has love for Offset. She did not like this. The rapper proceeded to state, unequivocally, that she wanted her former partner to die. “I wan him to get hit by a f*ckin truck,” she announced. “He really is just a dark cloud on anybody life he enters.” The most unexpected part of Cardi’s Twitter meltdown, however, came when she defended Offset. Fans began to theorize that Offset was the person who called Child Protective Services on the rapper a day prior.

Cardi B, however, shut down the theory. She threw in an additional insult, but made it clear that he would never do something like that to her. “That’s not wat happened that got nothing do wit him,” she asserted. “He a loser but he didn’t do that…It was a prank call he had to fly out and I couldn’t be there cause I’m hospitalized.” Cardi B deleted the tweets shortly after concluding her rant. The venom with which she spoke about Offset will not be forgotten by fans, however. The same is likely true for Offset.

Jermaine Dupri Clowns ‘Secretive’ Artists For Ruining Their Career Momentum

Jermaine Dupri has seen it all and done it all. He’s made stars from scratch, elevated stars to superstars, and helped fallen superstars regained their groove. He gets it. The producer has taken a step back in the last few years, barring his brief appearance during the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show. That said, he has some thoughts on the current generation of artists. Jermaine Dupri has nothing but respect for the talent and artistry of the current wave. He just feels like the way they’re rolling out their music is proving to be a hindrance.

Jermaine Dupri fired off two tweets with this sentiment on October 22. The first was brief. “Hits don’t allow you to be secretive,” he wrote. The second, however, saw the producer expand on his issues with the “secretive” approach. “N**gas all extra secretive on dey IG like they coming with that killa,” he wrote. “Y’all done let these none going out executives trick you.” Dupri believes that artists should follow a more traditional rollout when it comes to building anticipation for new releases. Rappers and singers are doing less, and the numbers support the producer’s claims.

Jermaine Dupri Criticized Current Music Executives

There has also been frustration on the part of fans. 2024 has seen artists like Kendrick Lamar, Playboi Carti and Frank Ocean tease new music. Some have dropped new songs, but have yet to announce plans for a release date. The timing of Jermaine Dupri’s tweets led some to speculate as to whether he meant to refer to Lamar, in particular. The Compton rapper released an interview with Harper’s Bazaar the day before, in which he still refused to reveal info about new music. Some in the comment section felt Dupri was out of touch. Others, meanwhile, agreed with his sentiments.

This is not the first time Jermaine Dupri has criticized the current state of the music business. The producer went semi-viral for his take on AI music back in February. “I don’t even know why people are excited because… it’s fake,” he said during an Atlanta conference. “It takes away from what you actually feel… AI comes in and it’s like washing away all of this.” To be fair, Dupri is putting his money were his mouth is. He recently launched a partnership with Create Music Group to focus on developing a new crop of artists.

Elon Musk Dubs Eminem A “Diddy Party Participant” In Scathing Tweet

Eminem’s politics were on full display October 22. The rapper took the stage during Kamala Harris’ campaign rally in Detroit. He not only voiced support for Harris, but he introduced former President Barack Obama as well. The introduction plans were revealed shortly before the campaign rally took place, and this did not sit well with Elon Musk, evidently. The Twitter owner decided to take aim at Eminem by making a very bold claim about the rapper.

Elon Musk did not imply that Eminem was a close associate of Diddy, or attended Diddy’s “freak off” parties. He flat out stated out. He commented on a screenshot of the TMZ article confirming Eminem’s plans, and wrote: “Another Diddy party participant.” The comment did very little, however, since there’s absolutely nothing to link Eminem to Diddy or the mogul’s alleged crimes. In fact, Em has been one of Diddy’s most vocal critics for decades. The rapper has dissed the Bad Boy founder several times on record. He did so most famously on the 2018 MGK diss “Killshot.” “Kells, the day you put out a hit is the day Diddy admits that he put the hit out that got Pac killed,” Eminem rapped.

Eminem Has Repeatedly Dissed Diddy Over The Years

There are no major public examples of Eminem and Diddy being close. In fact, one of Eminem’s closest friends, 50 Cent, has been the loudest Diddy critic dating back to the 2000s. Em and 50 continue to be close friends, and the latter even commented on Em’s newfound status as a grandfather. Elon Musk, on the other hand, has a more complicated history with Diddy. The Tesla titan has gone on record to state that he is close friends with Diddy. “I don’t know if you know this, but Puff is an investor in Twitter,” Musk was quoted as saying in the book Character Limit. “You know, he’s a good friend of mine. We text a lot.”

Elon Musk’s Twitter diss is far cry from his Eminem fandom in 2022. The controversial figure quoted Em when he was trying to take back control of his Twitter account from the SEC. Musk’s court filings alluded to Eminem’s “Without Me” song, and paraphrased it to read: “The [SEC] won’t let me be or let me be me so let me see…” Times have obviously changed.

Pi’erre Bourne Admits That “Made In Paris” Album Delay Is His Fault

Pi’erre Bourne has been teasing Made In Paris for close to a year. The producer has been dropping hints and teasing songs from the album since January. A quick scroll through the Made In Paris link on Genius shows over 25 leaked songs. We’re going to be getting a Tyler, The Creator album we didn’t even know existed before this week, sooner. Fans have been frustrated, and Pi’erre Bourne decided to break his silence on the matter. He hopped on Twitter and set the record straight.

Most artists would put the blame on the record label, or the fans who have leaked songs online. Bourne didn’t do that. He decided to own up and take responsibility for the fact that Made In Paris does not yet have a release date. The whole interaction actually stemmed from an interaction in which a fan voiced frustration with the label. Pi’erre Bourne clarified that the label has not made anything difficult for him, and that the album delay has been his doing. Plain and simple.

Pi’erre Bourne Claimed He’s Been Burned Out

“I really just got tired From traveling, shooting photo and videos,” the producer wrote. “Mixing album, going to fashion events same day and not sleeping.” Pi’erre Bourne noted that someone like Kanye West can pull such a demanding lifestyle off, but he cannot. He also noted that the polarizing superstar has a lot more help than he does. “Ye do it,” he added. “But he always surround himself with a great team in whatever setting. That’s all that I’m really missing. It’s not on the label. It’s me.”

Nicki Minaj Shares Shady Response To Historic BET Hip-Hop Awards Win

Recently, Nicki Minaj made history by winning Album Of The Year at the 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards for Pink Friday 2. She was the first female solo artist in history to do so, and she was up against the likes of Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, 21 Savage, and GloRilla. The awards show aired yesterday (October 15), and while one might expect an enthusiastic reaction out of Nicki, she was not impressed.

In response to a Twitter/X post about the win, she shared a meme that shows Chucky from the Child’s Play franchise biting on a woman’s arm. Nicki’s reaction doesn’t necessarily come as a shock, as she has a rocky history with the BET Hip-Hop Awards. The tension started back in 2019 when BET shared a shady Tweet.

Nicki Minaj Posts Chucky GIF After Winning BET Hip-Hop Album Of The Year

The Tweet in question followed Cardi B’s 2019 Grammy win. “Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj is being dragged by her lacefront,” it read. In response, Nicki announced that neither she nor the rest of Young Money would be performing at the BET Experience music festival. “Young Money will no longer be apart of the BET Experience or award show,” she tweeted at the time. “Summer Tour dates dropping soon.” She went on to drag the BET Awards months later, claiming it would “rather be a messy reality show than a prestigious award show.”

Nicki’s unenthusiastic response to her BET Hip-Hop Awards win comes shortly after she teased a potential hiatus on Stationhead. “I am doing a hiatus,” she told her supporters earlier this month. “But I have the Vogue thing, which I’m very proud and honored to do, and a couple things and then I’ll be taking a little moment to reflect.” What do you think of Nicki Minaj winning Album Of The Year at the 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards? Trippie Redd Bashes His Fans For Leaking Music In Bitter Twitter Rant

Trippie Redd does not have the superstar profile that he did a few years ago. The rapper was on the ascent, scoring major collaborations and dropping singles that scaled the charts. Redd’s last few drops have not gone according to plan, though. Fans clowned him for his MGK EP, and his recent collab with KSI was taken even less seriously. The latter was so derided, in fact, that Trippie Redd got on Twitter to make fun of it himself. It seems like the rapper reached a breaking point on October 13, though. He did not appreciate the continued leaking of his music, and made it known to fans.

Trippie Redd started off mildly enough, but his tweets gained more vitriol as the day wore on. The rant was prompted by the fact that a fan posted leaked material of his online. If i don’t get another song with Bieber, y’all fault wtf,” he wrote. “Leaking old songs too…….. get a life.” Trippie Redd used this recent leak as an excuse to sound off on the fans who have been leaking his music for years behind his back. “My last 4 albums leaked a week before it came out,” he asserted. “Don’t y’all get tired of doing that sh*t.” Things got even worse when Redd revealed that the leaks significantly impacted the rollout of his solo album Mansion Music.

Trippie Redd Asked Fans To Stop Leaking Songs

Apparently, Mansion Music was conceived as a double album before fans got ahold of recordings and uploaded them online. As a result, Trippie Redd decided to cut down on the tracklist and release a single disc version. Worse still, the rapper claims he had to rush to record new songs to avoid giving fans what they had already heard through leaks. “Only reason Mansion Music wasn’t a 2 part album,” he explained. “Is cuz y’all leak all the songs at once so i had to rush it out. Ts annoying atp.”

In case Trippie Redd’s sentiment wasn’t clear, he quote tweeted the fan account Redd Files. The account often posts links to the rapper’s leaked music, and he made it clear that he didn’t co-sign fans using the account to listen. “Stop leaking my music,” he wrote. Trippie Redd has a new album slated for release in 2024, LIVE LOVE LAUGH DIE, but once again, a proper release date has been derailed by leaks. Nearly a dozen songs have either been leaked or teased via snippet. Hopefully Redd is able to remedy the issue moving forward.

SZA Appears To Confirm Kendrick Lamar’s New Album Is Coming Soon

Rumors about Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming album have been swirling for some time. Following his explosive viral beef with Drake, legendary Pop Out show, and record-breaking “Not Like Us” music video, there are more eyes on him than ever waiting to see what he’ll do next. Fortunately for fans, his collaborators continue to drop hints that the project could be in the works and that they might get to hear it sooner rather than later.

Last week, for example, TDE affiliate Devin Malik took to X with an interesting message. “Mood cause new k dot album otwwww,” he captioned a clip of himself performing alongside Kendrick at the Pop Out. For obvious reasons, this got his followers’ hopes up.

SZA Reposts Devin Malik’s Tweet About Kendrick Lamar’s Album

Today, SZA added fuel to the fire by reposting Malik’s Tweet on her Instagram Story. Of course, this prompted big reactions from fans. “Another Kendrick and Sza collab would save generations,” one responded in RapTV‘s Instagram comments section. “Might be AOTY already,” another writes. Terrace Martin also teased Kendrick’s new project earlier this year on Instagram Live, revealing that he’s looking forward to it.

“Aye, let me tell y’all the records I’m excited for. I’m excited for YG’s album, I’m excited for Mustard’s album. I’m excited for a lot of people, but there’s two albums, I’m going cr*zy, I can’t wait ’til they drop,” he explained at the time. “Roddy Ricch album and whenever Kendrick drops his album, I’m excited for those two. Those two Compton artists is like, I’m excited. So much sh*t bubbling, you know?” What do you think of SZA reposting a Tweet about Kendrick Lamar’s new album being on the way?
