XXXTENTACION Killers Guilty: Twitter Reacts

The court found the three codefendants accused of murdering XXXTENTACION to be guilty of first-degree murder. Moreover, on Monday (March 20), the month-long trial concluded upon the decision of a South Florida jury. Michael Boatwright, Dedrick Williams and Trayvon Newsome also faced a guilty conviction for charges of armed robbery with a firearm. Afterwards, sheriff’s deputies immediately handcuffed them in the courtroom. Each of the three perpetrators now face mandatory life sentences, although an official sentencing hearing will take place on a later date. Given X’s massive reach and the highly publicized legacy of his life and death, it’s been a long road to get to this point, five years after his death.

However, another codefendant, Robert Allen, actually became a state’s witness against his co-perpetrators in August of 2022. During their trial, he testified against the three accused men and pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Said confessions gave the court more context as to what the motivations and dynamic of the murder were. Also, they debunked theories that other rappers like Drake actually instigated the murder or were part of a planned-out hit.

XXXTENTACION Killers Found Guilty

Still, Allen’s fate is unclear at the moment regarding his sentence, although that could soon come to light. Unsurprisingly, many reacted positively to the verdict, whether with jubilance or with resigned sadness. While it’s fulfilling and satisfying to see justice served, it’s not exactly the most celebratory of occasions. After all, X’s years-long absence will always be felt more powerfully than his killers’ incarceration. Even considering that these men will remain behind bars for life doesn’t get at the massive crisis that rappers face today, as they’re targeted for their image, wealth, possessions, and to make a headline.

Since X’s death, far too many rappers were lost at the hands of those wanting to steal their success. The three guilty men in this trial later flaunted their money and appeared quite pleased with themselves in released footage to the court. As many fans, loved ones, and regular people react to the verdict, many also acknowledge that the real work to help protect hip-hop is still yet to be done. Regardless, check out reactions below and return to HNHH for the latest updates on this story.

Meanwhile, one of the most notable celebrity responses came thanks to Iggy Azalea. After fans attacked her online, since Tory was meant to executive produce her new album, she set the record straight. Moreover, she responded to a user who pointed out the hypothetical nature of that criticism.

“Thank you,” the “Fancy” rapper wrote. “This is all I ask. Now isn’t the time to talk about a hypothetical album I’m yet to create or who will E.P it. Give me a min, y’all can fell however you want about whoever you want – that’s all good. But this isn’t the forum to discuss it. Happy holidays.”

However, others like Carl Crawford criticized Tory’s incarceration just a couple of days before Christmas. Additionally, he said that every Black man likely has the same reaction to Lanez getting a maximum of 22 years in jail.

“That’s cold-blooded…” the 1501 CEO said. “Two days before Christmas… 20 plus years… now, if a Black man don’t feel that, that’s cold.”

Many have also brought up the following tweet from the Canadian rapper in light of his verdict.

“I’m going to leave this here one more time… and watch how it ages… NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER… AND EVERY TONGUE THAT RISES AGAINST ME IN JUDGEMENT SHALL BE CONDEMNED u sit and watch now… And don’t ever question the GOD I serve again. This is my last tweet,” he said back on December 7th.

Furthermore, many other celebrities reacted including Melii, Baby Tate, Jonathan Wright, Anthony Fantano, Lil Ju, and more. Still, reactions have been relatively mixed, with some outraged at the verdict. However, it seems many are grateful for justice for Meg.

Glorilla Claps Back After Being Dragged Over $550/Week Personal Assistant Job

Glorilla found herself trending this week after posting job details for a personal assistant gig. Many took offense after reviewing the description and seeing that the weekly pay only totaled $550.

Clapping back following the backlash, the Memphis rapper justified the posting, saying that the assistant’s constant flights would all be paid for.

“Talking about $550 too low. Really, it needs to be $500,” she joked in the video clip. Glorilla then added, “First of all, your flights get paid for…You think I’m finna pay $500 for you a flight every day plus pay you? No, that don’t work like that.”

Responsibilities listed in the original posting include scheduling meetings, running errands, and grocery shopping for the “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” rapper. But according to her, “half of the sh*t on that list you don’t gotta do for real. It’s just, if it comes down to it, you might have to do it.”

They then added, “That’s not a living wage for all of the things you’re expecting ma’am.”

Another user joked, “Glorilla, if you hire me for $550/wk just know Imma steal.”

“Glorilla paying $550 a week to be her assistant?? Lmao they making more than that at McDonald’s” one user tweeted.
