The Game Set To Perform At ‘DrillMatic Album Release Show’ At The Novo Los Angeles
After numerous delays, The Game’s upcoming studio album, Drillmatic, is right around the corner. In anticipation of the album, The Game will be performing the album at the DrillMatic Album Release Show at the Novo in his hometown of Los Angeles, CA, tomorrow, July 8th.
The album release show is produced by Goldenvoice, a subsidiary of AEG Live, who is bringing other artists such as Scarface, Sean Kingston, Joey Bada$$, and Capella Grey to the Novo later this year.
Despite not having a solid release date, the Compton MC’s latest album is sure to follow soon after the album release show. Just yesterday, The Game took to Instagram to thank Jay-Z for clearing 7 samples on the forthcoming project.
“S/O to S.Dot for clearing all 7 samples on #Drillmatic,” The Game wrote on Instagram. “3 more sample clearances & the AOTY belongs to me & hit-boy.”
Drillmatic marks the 10th studio album from the West Coast MC. He was slated to retire after his 9TH album, Born 2 Rap, but it seems as if The Game had a change of heart following his single “Eazy” with Kanye West earlier this year. The album is being entirely produced by fellow West Coast producer Hit-Boy. In a Pusha-T fashion, The Game is already hailing his upcoming project as the best album of the year.
Just last month, The Game and Hit-Boy dropped the first single for the forthcoming album titled “Violence.” You can check it out below, and purchase tickets to the album release party here.

Happy 47th Birthday 50 Cent! Fif’s Realest Rap Beefs
Born on this date in 1975, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is undoubtedly one of the most influential forces in the game today. From music to movies to successful business ventures, Fif has always stayed on top of his game ever since he made his unconventional entrance at the end of the last millennium.
What has always kept 50’s name in the people’s mouths is the fact that he always had someone else’s name in his! Not to be confused with the common studio gangster, 50 has not only survived, but remained triumphant and relevant after all of his beefs.
Here’s a short list of some of Fif’s most mentioned beefs in and out of the studio:
1. Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff
This beef between street soldier and kingpin became a story reminiscent of David and Goliath, with 50 Cent battling the most feared gangster in his Jamaica, Queens hometown. This riff was depicted in 50’s blockbuster film Get Rich Or Die Tryin’. The real ending? Fif is a successful businessman and Supreme is currently in a federal supermax correctional facility for life. According to recent reports, however, an appeals court has now forced a federal judge to reconsider Supreme’s appeal for a sentence reduction.
2. Big Pun
On 50’s first widely recognized track “How To Rob” featuring The Madd Rapper, he creatively spits scenarios about him catching several of your favorite rappers and R&B singers slipping. One of them happened to be the Terror Squad top recruit, the late Big Pun, who didn’t take it very lightly. On Pun’s Yeeeaah Baby! album, he tells Fif on one of the tracks, “I’m gonna make a song called ‘How I beat your fuckin ass’…”. Nothing never happened off wax with this beef and Pun passed suddenly on February 7, 2000.
3. The Game
With the G-Unit at the top of the rap tier at the turn of the 21st Century, if you weren’t with them, you and your crew were definitely getting rolled over. The Game, who happened to be the only recruit on the Guerrilla Unit squad that wasn’t from the East Coast, made the mistake by believing that his career would remain afloat without 50. With no help against the barrage of battle records from G-Unit to the unsuccessful “Boycott G-Unit” campaign, it’s safe to say that Fif come out on top of this one.
4. Rick Ross
The Bawse seemed to be the only artist that has even been able to maintain his relevance after beef with Mr. Jackson. Ironically, this beef started over an alleged wrong look at the BET Awards towards Ross. These two traded bars until Fif came out with the “Officer Ricky” track, in which 50 promised told Rozay “Ima fuck your life up for fun’. At the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards in ATL, Gunplay from Ross’ Maybach Music Group allegedly had his chain snatched and Fif was seen wearing the chain days later.
5. Ja Rule
His battle with 50 Cent should’ve been a warning to the rest of the artist who came after him with a problem with the Queens MC. These two were from the same hood, which made the beef that much more personal. While 50 claims that Rule hid behind the protection of “Supreme” McGriff, who was suspected of facilitating the unsuccessful hit on Jackson, Rule maintained a successful career until the continuous physical confrontations and vicious shots proved to be too much for certified platinum Murder Inc. artist. Last year, these two bumped heads on a flight, but time must have healed old wounds because the two just greeted each other with a “what’s up” as they flew together.

The Game Reveals Jay-Z Cleared A Whopping Seven Samples For His Upcoming Album, ‘Drillmatic’
At the end of 2019, The Game dropped his ninth album Born 2 Rap, and claimed that he would retire from rap after the project’s release. As you’re probably aware by now, we live in a world where rappers are really bad at retiring and it was only a matter of time until The Game reclaimed his position in hip-hop. Fast-forward almost three years and the Compton native is gearing up to release his tenth album Drillmatic, and while a release date for it is unknown at the moment, The Game did reveal an interesting tidbit about the album.

The Game took to Instagram to reveal that Drillmatic will include a number of sampled Jay-Z songs and he thanked the Reasonable Doubt rapper for allowing him to use them. “S/O to S. Dot for clearing all 7 samples on #Drillmatic,” he wrote in the post. “3 more sample clearances & the AOTY belongs to me & hit-boy.”
The latter half of the message seems to explain the delays behind Drillmatic. The Game initially said the project, which is executive produced by Hit-Boy, would arrive on June 17, but it was later pushed back to July 1 which came and went without its release. The album has yet to receive a new release date, but with three samples left to clear, it shouldn’t be too long until we know when it will drop.

The Game Was Asked To Say One Good Thing About 50 Cent, And He Couldn’t
The Game has been pretty vocal lately about his relationship with Kanye and his thoughts on being left out of the Superbowl Halftime Show. In a new interview with I Am Athlete, he talks about 50 Cent, and was asked to say one good thing about him. However, Game’s answer was more convoluted and metaphysical than anything else.
When asked if he could say anything good about Fif, 50 replied saying “sometimes you need loose change.”
Game then described a hypothetical situation where someone might need lose change. “The parking meter ain’t takin’ a dollar. And then you scrape to the bottom, past the Chapstick, past your earbuds and then you find a quarter, like 35 cent. You’re gonna be able to stay there for about 15 minutes. Loose change, you need it sometimes,” Game said.
The Compton MC was then asked if he would prefer to do a album or a movie with 50. The Game replied, “What kind of movie? Does this n*gga die in the movie?”
He went on to detail a movie that he would do with 50, shadily named: Abandonment. The plot of this story seems eerily similar to his and 50’s estranged relationship.
“I think the movie is he abandoned his son and I come in to the baby moms and show her how a real dad is,” he said. “Me and him, I don’t really f**k with him because her abandoned his kid, his own child, his flesh and blood. And then I come along and pick up the pieces. He don’t owe me nothing, but I got problems with him.”
The Game continued, insinuating he has beef with 50 because he doesn’t take care of his child. “Any man that don’t wanna take care of their own child for any reason, I got a problem with.

The Game Responds When Asked to Say Something Nice About 50 Cent
The Game can’t leave 50 Cent alone.
During a visit to the “I Am Athlete” podcast to promote his upcoming album Drillmatic, the Compton rapper once again discussed his long-running beef with his former G-Unit member.
When the hosts asked him to say “one thing nice” about his rival, he responded, “Sometimes you need loose change.”
He then described rummaging through his car looking for money to feed the parking meter. “Loose change, you need it sometimes,” he joked.
Game was also asked if he would prefer to do an album or a movie with 50, opting for the latter.
“What kind of movie? Does this ni**a die in the movie?” he asked.
He outlined a plot for a movie seemingly inspired by 50’s estranged relationship with his oldest son Marquise. He even gave the movie a shady title—Abandonment.
Game continued to take a subliminal shot at 50. “Any man that don’t wanna take care of their own child for any reason, I got a problem with.”
Later in the interview, he shut down rumors that 50 wrote his debut album The Documentary. “We know that’s not true because I have more classic albums than him,” he said while claiming that 50 only has “one classic album,” Get Rich or Die Tryin’.
“Me, I’ve had several and I’m still here,” he said. “Cut all the 50 wrote for Game shit. 50 wrote for 50 and did his part.”
He also boasted about being a better rapper than 50. “You rap, I rap. I’m just a better rapper than you,” he said before giving props to the “Power” producer. “And that’s cool ’cause you a better TV producer than me.”
Game is gearing up to drop his next “classic” album Drillmatic on July 1 featuring appearances from Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and NBA YoungBoy, plus a collaboration with Chris Brown and Chlöe Bailey.
