Eminem Unveils Official Tracklist For “The Death Of Slim Shady”

The wait is almost over. Eminem has pulled out all the bells and whistles in the build up to his new album, The Death of Slim Shady. The album’s release date is almost upon us, though, so there’s little left to do then let the music speak for itself. Now we have a tracklist. Eminem dropped the song titles on July 9th, confirming the inclusion of lead singles “Houdini” and “Tobey.” The biggest delight, though, is how long the album is. Em is not skimping out on the content.

The Death of Slim Shady will be 19 tracks long. This makes it longer than Kamikaze and Recovery, and more in line with the deluxe editions of more recent albums. There also seems to be song titles that are direct sequels to Eminem classics, or riffs on earlier song ideas. “Guilty Conscience 2” is obviously an extension of the classic Dr. Dre collab from 1999. Given that Dre is heavily involved with The Death of Slim Shady, it’s safe to assume he will return for a couple verses. “Brand New Dance” also calls back to “Square Dance” from Em’s 2002 classic The Eminem Show.

The Features On Eminem’s Album Are Hidden

There’s strong demonic imagery littered throughout the tracklist. The final trailer for the album sees a woman give birth to a demonic infant, so it’s definitely on brand. The Death of Slim Shady will include songs called “Lucifer” and “Antichrist” back to back on the album, as well as “Bad One.” Other titles suggest a more frenetic, angry energy like “Fuel” or “Road Rage.” This also makes sense, given how Slim is the embodiment of all of Eminem’s worst tendencies. “Houdini” was a clear throwback to the rapper’s heyday, so it should fit in with the rest of the songs here.

The more reflective songs titles come later in the tracklist. “Temporary” suggests a transient angle that falls out of the Slim purview and more into older, contemplative Em. The same goes for the final song on the album, “Somebody Save Me.” It’s worth noting that the only features listed on the album are Big Sean and BabyTron, who appear on the already-released “Tobey.” Based on the collaborations that have been teased in the lead up to The Death of Slim Shady, it looks as though the other features will be hidden until the album drops on July 12.

Eminem Collabs With White Castle For “White Rapper” Merch

If you tuned into the music video for “Tobey”, you might have caught that a White Castle restaurant was randomly in it for some reason. Well, it turns out that was a bit of an easter egg. According to Billboard, Eminem put out a spare, two-item merch drop on his website, shop.eminem.com, in partnership with White Castle. The two pieces include a white t-shirt and a white and black trucker hat. For the latter, it includes the logo of the longstanding burger slider chain, but instead the name is replaced with “White Rapper”. Then, on the shirt it has the same graphic in addition to “ESTABLISHED IN 1972”. Underneath that, it reads, “Buy ’em by the “Sack”.

The “1972” is Eminem’s birth year and it replaces the time in which White Castle was founded (1921). Both are in limited production and each item will ship out at different times. For the hat, it will ship out on August 16, and the shirt will go out two weeks later on August 30. The cap can be had for $30 and the tee at $35 a pop. Sizing starts at small and then goes up to double XL.

Eminem Is Embracing The “White Rapper” Label

Speaking of dropping things, Eminem will be leaving off his next studio album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), this Friday, July 12. Led by “Houdini” and “Tobey”, which features Big Sean and BabyTron, the rest of the tracklist is still up in the air. It apparently made its way onto Apple Music, even revealing the additional guests. However, the names of the songs and artists have been removed. However, we can say we have the artwork, and it is pretty clever while also being on the nose. It sees his Slim Shady looking terrified as he is getting zipped up in a body bag. He might be killing off the alter ego, but Em is adopting the “white rapper” title in its place with this merch team-up.

What are your thoughts on this merchandise collaboration between Eminem and White Castle? Do you any of the pieces in this drop intrigue you? How are you feeling about his upcoming album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), so far? Who do you expect to land on the record? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Eminem. Eminem Chainsaws Slim Shady To Pieces In “Tobey” Music Video

There is no secret that the plan for Eminem on The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) is to axe his alter ego, figuratively speaking. However, the iconic Detroit rapper is doing so literally (as possible) in the “Tobey” music video. Overseen by Cole Bennett’s Lyrical Lemonade, this quickly became one of the most anticipated set of visuals for 2024. It is wild to think that even nearly three decades in, Eminem still has this much of a gravitational pull in hip-hop. Overall, this just further cements his legacy in the genre, even though that happened years ago. The accompanying video was announced the same day (June 28) as the “Tobey” single. Originally, it was slated to hit YouTube on July 5, however, Eminem felt it was not finished.

So, he gave his fan base a sneak peek of what was in the works on that former drop date. Additionally, Eminem said it would drop on the 8th. Well, the day is finally here, and the imagery and direction are very fun and symbolic. It essentially feels like the idea was to create a timeline effect. “Tobey” features two other Detroit stars (BabyTron and Big Sean); a nod to the three generations of talent from the blue-collar city. It starts with BabyTron first, then to 2010s decade with Sean. Eminem follows up the rear and his backdrops include the house he grew up in, and the literal murder of the Slim Shady persona with the cause of death being a chainsaw. It is quite the crescendo and it figures to be one of the most viewed music videos of the year. Check it out with the link below.

Eminem’s “The Death Of Slim Shady” Tracklist Allegedly Leaks Online

Eminem fans have been waiting patiently for his new album The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) ever since it was announced, and recently, they got an inadvertent sneak peek at what’s allegedly to come. X user @SyrianAlmond shared a screenshot from the Apple Music app yesterday (July 6), suggesting that the platform accidentally made the tracklist public while making it available to pre-save and later removed it.

Of course, fans were quick to take note of the features included on the list. Artists like J. Cole, JID, Black Thought, Tech N9ne, Ez Mil, and Royce Da 5’9″ are expected to appear. Billie Eilish is even listed as a featured artist on one track, and both Dr. Dre and 50 Cent are listed on another.

Alleged Eminem Tracklist Boasts Appearances From J Cole, JID, Tech N9ne & More

Of course, Slim Shady himself has yet to confirm whether or not the tracklist is legitimate. This also wouldn’t be the first time a fake tracklist popped up online shortly before a major release. Either way, it has fans more eager than ever to see what Eminem has up his sleeve. The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) is currently slated for release on July 12. The new album isn’t the only thing fans have to look forward to, however. The Cole Bennett-directed music video for Em’s track “Tobey” alongside BabyTron and Big Sean was supposed to drop last week, but unfortunately, they ran into a bit of a delay as it wasn’t finished in time.

Now, it’s expected to arrive tomorrow (July 8). What do you think of Eminem’s The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) tracklist seemingly being made public on Apple Music by accident? Are you looking forward to hearing it once it finally drops later this week? Which alleged feature are you most excited about? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Skilla Baby Doesn’t Believe Eminem Is The Best Rapper In Detroit

Skilla Baby shared a hot take regarding Eminem and the city of Detroit during an appearance on the Baby, This is Keke Palmer podcast. Speaking with the actress, Skilla argued that the legendary artist isn’t the best rapper out of his hometown. Instead, he says the title is constantly switching hands.

“Numbers wise, Eminem is the best Detroit rapper but the gag is nobody would say that in Detroit. Everybody had a turn being Detroit’s favorite rapper,” he said. “Sada Baby had a turn, Tee Grizzley had a turn, Babyface Ray had a turn, Veeze is one of Detroit’s best rappers, Baby Smoove. Everybody had their turn being the best in the city. What we lack is consistency. Nobody has consistently been Detroit’s favorite rapper.”

From there, Skilla added: “Numbers wise, it’s Eminem but nobody in Detroit is playing Eminem right now and I was an Eminem fan as a kid. I’m a fan of Eminem but do we consider him our best rapper? I don’t think Detroit does.” Afterward, he listed some other artists he forgot to mention as well. “No shade to anybody names I left off Detroit is full of great rappers and I can’t forget Kash Doll, Big Sean, and Dej [Loaf] of course,” he concluded. Skilla’s controversial take comes as Eminem prepares for the release of his next album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce). Big Sean Cites Being On Eminem’s “Tobey” As A “Full Circle” Moment

Big Sean still is having a hard time wrapping his head around the fact that he has made it. Even after several successful records, major hits, and numerous big-time collaborations, it does not seem real somehow. The Detroit, Michigan native is still one of major players from his era, even without dropping a lot of music in the 2020s. However, his limited output is still of high quality. He dropped perhaps his best record to date with Detroit 2, a follow-up to his over decade old fan-favorite mixtape. Additionally, Sean has put out several singles, including his high-octane “Precision” which did not receive the proper praise as it dropped on the same day as “Like That”.

Now, Big Sean can add his fiery guest verse on Eminem’s recently-released “Tobey” single. He holds his own on it, going toe to toe with Slim Shady, as well as the new kid on the block, BabyTron. “I was immersed in the Murcié, I show ’em no mercy, I really was watchin’ the throne (For real) / N****s ain’t turnin’ me down, when my baby asleep only time that I’m watchin’ my tone, look (Shh)“. Sean is certainly a major reason as to why the song has been receiving so much love and because of it the hitmaker is now seeing this as a “full circle” moment.

Big Sean Looks Back At How Far He’s Come After “Tobey” Drops

According to Billboard, Sean tweeted out about Em’s debut, The Slim Shady LP, being the first one he bought personally. He also cites how wild it has been to have now worked with someone he admires on four occasions and to see his growth since purchasing that classic album. “Not gon hold you, Slim Shady LP was the first CD i bought wit my own money at Costco. Me n Em bout 4 songs in now (DVE, No Favors, Detroit 2 cypher) but being on the Death Of Slim Shady is full circle. I aint know when i bought that, that id be one of the next 1’s out da city…”. The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) drops on July 12 and an accompanying music video for “Tobey” is coming Friday, July 5.

What are your thoughts on Big Sean’s tweet following his appearance on Eminem’s “Tobey”? Do they have any misses together, why or why not? Who had the strongest verse out of the two? Is Big Sean a top five Detroit rapper of all time? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Big Sean and Eminem. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.

Eminem Has A Winner With Big Sean & BabyTron-Assisted “Tobey”

Fans were uncontrollably excited for Eminem to drop “Houdini” when the single was announced. While it is running up the streams, there is a decently large camp that is not messing with the track. The complaints surrounding it are that a fair number of the bars are corny, and the flows are awkward. While it was his mission to revive that classic Slim Shady goofiness, the magic was not recaptured entirely. However, Eminem haters are going to have a hard time tearing down “Tobey”.

The legendary Detroit MC announced the second promotional record from The Death of Slim Shady a few days ago, and a lot of people were a little nervous. Some felt that this could be one of the better songs of 2024 or one of the worst. Fortunately, the former is a more accurate way to describe it, as Em, Big Sean, and BabyTron all rap with serious hunger. The latter was a surprising grab for most, but when you think about it, Tron’s style is fairly similar. The Ypsilanti native also loves to incorporate odd and humorous bars into his verses and the same is true on “Tobey”. He handles the chorus and the opening verse and does a great job of setting the tone.

Then, the second generation of Michigan rap stars, Big Sean, comes in. He also kills it with speedy flows and carries the momentum effortlessly. Eminem then finishes things off with a more serious tone, as he focuses on his legacy and where he feels he deserves to be in hip-hop lore. Finally, what about the instrumental? This time around it is more minimal with main feature being twinkling and ghostly keys with some swelling synths, guitar, and lowkey drums laying underneath. Overall, “Tobey” is a very great effort from Eminem and figures to have a lot of replay value when the album drops.

Eminem Reveals The Artwork For Highly Anticipated Single “Tobey”

Eminem will always have fans on the edge of their seats for new music and today is no different. In just a few short hours he will be dropping off the second and possible final single for The Death of Slim Shady, “Tobey”. The track has been generating a lot of buzz ever since it was announced a few days ago. Part of the reason for that is because of the guests coming along for the ride. Two fellows Michiganders, Big Sean and BabyTron, will be lending their talents to the track. Eminem is doing a cool thing with “Tobey”, as all three MCs are essentially repping three different generations of Detroit hip-hop.

Marshall Mathers is playing into that aspect even more on the artwork, which he just revealed on his Instagram moments ago. It recreates the iconic Spider-Man meme where two spiderweb-weaving superheroes are pointing at each other. That iconic Marvel character seems to be the main theme of “Tobey” as the song is a partial homage to actor Tobey Maguire. He portrayed the masked vigilante in the original films in the early 2000s. As most superhero super fans would know, Spider-Man becomes Spider-man after being bit by a radioactive arachnid.

However, for Eminem, Sean, and Tron, they seem to have been nibbled on by a goat. The latter’s lyrics were teased in the trailer toward the end, and he rapped, “Tobey Maguire got bit by a spider, but see, me? It was a goat“. If that is any indication, this looks to be a more of a braggadocious cut. However, we will find out sooner than later, as “Tobey” drops at 12 p.m. EST. Some fans were a little surprised that it did not drop at midnight, but Eminem never revealed the time in the original teaser.

What are your thoughts on the cover art for Eminem’s upcoming single “Tobey” with Big Sean and BabyTron? Is this going to be a better track than “Houdini”, why or why not? Are you surprised that Eminem is dropping his new album next Friday? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Eminem Is Reincarnated As A Demon Baby (?) In His Latest ‘The Death Of Slim Shady’ Teaser Clip

eminem-2

The obituary Eminem placed in the Detroit Free Press newspaper to promoted his upcoming might have been extreme, but that’s his norm. The “Houdini” rapper’s latest promotional clip is even more shocking.

Today (July 1), Eminem took to his official X (formerly Twitter) page to announce the official release date for The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce). Instead of a simple reveal, Eminem shared a suspense-filled teaser visual to break the news.

“OH SH*T!!! THE DEATH OF SLIM SHADY (COUP DE GRÂCE) ☠ 7/12,” he wrote.

Although the caption of the post delivered the calendar goodies, frankly that isn’t the most exciting part of the upload. In line with Eminem’s latest string of music video and teasers influenced by movies (Batman and Friday The 13th), this clip is an eerily mashup of The Omen and Seed Of Chucky.

As the video opens, the audience is witness to the gift of life (the complete opposite theme of the forthcoming project). However, there’s a catch. After the doctor frantically attempts to revive the unresponsive newborn, his efforts pay off. Instead of a bouncing bundle of joy, a demon baby terrorizes the hospital room. With Slim Shady slated to be killed off, is Eminem seemingly reincarnated in the worst way.
