Jada Pinkett Smith Says Legal Action Will Come Over Latest Will Smith Rumor

Just as it started to seem like Will and Jada were out of the news cycle, they’ve been rushed back into the mix. That’s because earlier this week one of Will Smith’s former friends, Brother Bilaal, recently spoke to blogger Tasha K. In the interview, he claimed to have once walked in on Smith and fellow actor Duane Martin having a sexual encounter. That unsurprisingly took off online as fans discussed the rumors and whether or not they were credible.

While the couple often let rumors fade away without much acknowledgment, they’ve both spoken out against this one. Smith described the rumor as “unequivocally false” in a statement shared yesterday. Now Jada is making similar claims. She recently appeared on The Breakfast Club to once again claim that there’s no truth whatsoever to the rumor. Boosie Badazz says that Sexyy Red isn’t his “type” but had plenty of praise for the rapper regardless while speaking about her during a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club. Charlamagne introduced the topic by bringing up Sexyy Red’s recent comments on Boosie, in which she labeled herself the modern day version of him.

“Yeah, I saw that,” Boosie said. “I feel like she gave me my flowers, I feel like she really gave me my flowers because Sexyy Red from The Lou. I been there in The Lou since, I’m talking about 20 years. Like, the one people love and respect his ratchetness. They respect her ratchetness. I thought about it I was like, ‘she kinda right.’ Because people respect my ratchetness. You might not like it, but you respect it.”

From there, Boosie recalled meeting a girl at the mall who “looked just like Sexyy Red.” Boosie continued. ” That ain’t never been my type, bro. Them like my sisters. Girls like them who grew up with me in the projects. I never been turned on to them like that. They always been like my sisters. Appearing on VladTV back in September, he performed a “ratchet remix” of Sexyy’s hit song, “Pound Town.” He also previously discussed Sexyy Red labeling herself the “modern day Boosie” during a brief interview with TMZ at Los Angeles International Airport. “I feel like she giving me my flowers,” Boosie told the outlet, “I don’t get my flowers a lot and I’m a ratchet hood n***a who still getting money, who getting a bankroll. Boosie Badazz Says VladTV Pays Him $500k A Year

Earlier today, Boosie Badazz’s lengthy interview on The Breakfast Club made its way online. He discussed a variety of subjects, including his frequent appearances on VladTV. The discussion began with the question of Boosie starting a podcast, which he said he could only do if it made him a lot of money. When Charlamagne clarified that the type of money he wants doesn’t really exist in podcast, Boosie clarified that he was covered through other means.

“Well, I don’t want it. Because, yeah, I could make a half a million with Vlad every year, man. I don’t really need it if it ain’t gon’… Vlad help me out a lot more,” Boosie elaborated. He appears on Vlad TV quite often and frequently comes with revelations in ongoing drama, or new drama entirely. Last week, Boosie shared a post to Instagram explaining he has a new celebrity crush. While he’s notoriously a big fan of Rihanna, a chance encounter with someone else replaced her at the top of the list. He shared a series of pictures of himself with Chloe Bailey and in the caption officially declared that she’s his newest celeb crush. Some fans definitely found it a bit weird, given the pair’s age gap.

Boosie also gave his cosign to Sexyy Red. She took to Twitter to compare herself to the legend which some fans online took issue with. But Boosie himself felt pretty happy with the comparison. DJ Envy’s Cesar Pina Co-Sign Led To Numerous Investments, Claim Alleged Fraud Victims

The DJ Envy and Cesar Pina story has been capturing the minds of rap fans for weeks. Early rumors began to swirl last month when local news reports identified Pina as the person at the center of an alleged real estate fraud scheme. Multiple investigators came forward claiming that he had essentially stolen thousands from them and journalist investigations backed up their claims. At the time, Envy was considered as one of the potential victims of the scam.

But even then some suspected that he may be more involved than he wanted to let on and that debate has raged ever since. Some of the first people to throw gasoline on the fire were former business partners and other figures in the rap game. They called Envy out for his shady business practices and associating with somebody he should have known was scamming people. As lawsuits began to swirl around Pina, Envy finally addressed the allegations on an October 11 episode of The Breakfast Club. But that acknowledgement didn’t help calm any of the noise surrounding Envy and Pina down.

Last week, things official spun out of control for Envy. On the 19th Pina was officially hit with fraud charges. In the wake of that news there was a lot of speculation. In the immediate aftermath there were claims swirling that The Breakfast Club was looking for a new co-host and that there was an FBI raid of iHeartRadio spawning from an investigation into him. While neither seem to actually be true, some of the damage had already been done.

Envy’s attorney has maintained that he is more of a victim in the case than anything else. That was backed by some of the statements Pina has made since his arrest. Despite that, fans and rappers have continued to bash Envy for his involvement in the alleged scheme. City Girls Blame Management And Timing For Poor Album Sales

City Girls have been getting a lot of flack as of late. This is due to the fact that their new album RAW has been plagued by some poor album sales. Overall, fans aren’t loving the project like the duo may have expected. In its first week, the album is only expected to sell about 6K units. Although the group is pretty massive online and at festivals, these numbers are anything but a reflection of that. Furthermore, the low sales have led to plenty of jokes online.

On Thursday, the group was at The Breakfast Club where they talked about the new album and a myriad of other topics. JT touched on the album’s poor sales projections, noting they didn’t do enough promotion. “It’s tough times. You get what you put in, in this shit. And I feel like, collectively, we didn’t do what we had to do to promote the album,” JT explained. “But if you don’t go hard with promoting your shit, and putting it in people’s face, it’s like, of course it’s going to miss people.”

City Girls Give Their Take

Although she initially took responsibility, JT eventually changed course and blamed management for the lack of promotion. She also said timing played a big factor in all of this. “Right now, stunting ain’t cool, because people broke,” she added. “I feel like we have a bad timing thing. I feel like our timing, and our management, is poor. We’ve got poor management, poor timing — like, it’s really never no strategy. We just out here, like, why the fuck are we at The Breakfast Club a week after our thing dropped?”

Is DJ Envy A Suspect In The Alleged Real Estate Ponzi Scheme?

DJ Envy, co-host of The Breakfast Club, generally provides light-hearted commentary, but right now, he’s connected to a very serious federal investigation. Cesar Pina, known as a business associate of Envy’s and occasional guest on The Breakfast Club, has been arrested and charged by federal prosecutors for “a multi-million-dollar Ponzi-like investment fraud scheme” (as reported by Billboard on October 18). People are giving DJ Envy the side-eye, and Desus Mero wasted no time using it as satirical material as this week’s The Daily Show host.

On Wednesday, October 25, People cited court documents regarding DJ Envy’s potential involvement in Pina’s alleged fraudulent activity.

“Pina partnered with a celebrity disc jockey and radio personality to conduct real estate seminars around the country,” the court documents state. “Through these seminars, self-promotional efforts, and other marketing strategies, Pina developed a significant social media following.”

People also relayed that Massimo D’Angelo, Envy’s attorney, exclusively told the publication that DJ Envy “had no involvement in the alleged scheme, and that he’s filed motions to dismiss two lawsuits that named Envy.” D’Angelo added, “Envy is a victim and sits in the same place as the other alleged victims are in these schemes.”

Meanwhile, Pina addressed the rumors surrounding DJ Envy during an Instagram Live on Tuesday, October 24 (as captured by Billboard), saying, “DJ Envy was never in the room with me. DJ Envy has nothing to do with any of these 20 lawsuits of these people who are suing me. It f*cking sucks, bro. It pisses me off that all these people are bashing DJ Envy.”

Billboard also contextualized the complicated legal matter, as excerpted below:

“For months, Pina has faced allegations that he promised dozens of investors big profits on real estate deals in Northern New Jersey, only to return little or nothing. Those accusations started on social media but quickly turned into at least 20 civil lawsuits; one victim attorney estimated that more than 30 investors have come forward, seeking over $40 million from Pina and his wife, Jennifer.

Many of those lawsuits, including one filed by music industry veteran Anthony Martini, name DJ Envy as a co-defendant, citing his close ties with Pina — including Pina’s frequent appearances on The Breakfast Club and a series of real estate seminars that the two men co-hosted. Envy has strongly denied the accusations, saying he knew nothing about any foul play and actually lost $500,000 that he invested with Pina.”

Here’s What To Know About DJ Envy’s Alleged Real Estate Ponzi Scheme

Power 105’s studios in New York City have been the site of plenty of drama related to The Breakfast Club, but last week, things got even wilder when the iHeartRadio station’s office was raided by federal agents who confiscated electronics as evidence in an investigation involving Breakfast Club co-host DJ Envy.

Unlike fellow DJ Drama, who once had his own studios raided by the feds, Envy’s case is not related to illegally obtained music or record industry pettiness. Instead, Envy is allegedly tied to a real estate Ponzi scheme that prosecutors claim “defrauded dozens of people of millions of dollars.” One arrest has been made so far: Cesar Pena, who occasionally appeared on The Breakfast Club under the moniker “Flipping NJ” and supposedly flipped properties in New Jersey with DJ Envy, was arrested for his role in the scheme. The complaint against him mentions “a well-known disc jockey and radio personality.”

According to Billboard, Pina bills himself as a real estate guru on social media, often posting photos with hip-hop stars like 50 Cent, Post Malone, and Snoop Dogg, and claims on his website that he owns 1,100 rental properties in Paterson, New Jersey. He appeared on The Breakfast Club as a guest of Envy’s and co-hosted a series of real estate seminars with him starting in 2018. In May of this year, though, he was accused on Instagram of using this celebrity to fool people into investing in properties with the intent of flipping them, and then keeping the profits for himself.

Those accusations turned into a spate of lawsuits filed against Pina from sources including record industry veteran Anthony Martini, who previously invested in the company behind controversial virtual rapper FN Meka. Martini’s lawsuit and another included DJ Envy for his role in promoting Pina’s companies on-air. Envy is named in nine of the twenty lawsuits against Pina.

Envy addressed the accusations, on The Breakfast Club, claiming to be a victim himself. “Cesar, if he took money, I wasn’t privy to it, nor did I even know,” he said. “But I do understand how people feel if they did give him money because I gave him a lot of money [and] I didn’t see a dollar of return. But for anybody to say that I was involved, that’s totally not true.” He’s also filed legal arguments to that effect, saying he was not involved in the deals that defrauded investors and that he’s lost $500,000 of his own in dealings with Pina. His lawyers also argue that just because he endorsed Pina shouldn’t make him liable. He also sued one of his accusers for defamation.

Usher, however, hasn’t stopped singing to other people’s partners while on stage, causing him to be put on blast by Charlamagne Tha God during a recent episode of The Breakfast Club.

“Let me tell you how much of a terrorist Usher is,” the Brilliant Idiots host told listeners. “He went from my wife to Doja Cat, who was clearly there with a guy,” Charlamagne explained. Seeing as the Scarlet artist has been dating J. Cyrus on the low for some time now, our bet is that she attended the concert with him. “He didn’t care,” the radio host noted of Usher’s nonchalance towards the men in the room. “Then, Jessica Alba was sitting behind me. He went and started singing to her, she’s married!”

Where the Texas-born recording artist drew the line, it seems, was with Jennifer Lopez. “Then he had the nerve to look at her and say, ‘I don’t want no smoke with Ben Affleck.’ Well what you want smoke with me for Usher?!” Tha God openly pondered. “He think you soft,” co-host DJ Envy suggested to his friend.

DJ Envy Fraud Accusations Prompt “The Breakfast Club” To Look For New Co-Host

DJ Envy’s fraud allegations have been a hot topic in hip-hop culture these days, whether among fans, artists, or his media peers. Moreover, it’s been quite the difficult situation to navigate, as his legal trouble is hard to ignore while on-air on a program. In fact, the media personality spoke to his fellow co-hosts on The Breakfast Club about the debacle, even if it was against his attorneys’ advice. It seems like he just wanted to address everything as publicly as possible, defend and clear his name, and be transparent. Unfortunately, if a new job posting is to be believed, the commentator might not get a chance to speak on it again for a while- at least, not as co-host of The Breakfast Club.

Furthermore, iHeartMedia, The Breakfast Club‘s owner, reportedly put up a job listing for a co-host for the program via the Workday platform. Applicants would ideally boast at least three years of on-air radio experience, audio clips from previous on-air interviews, commentary examples, past announcements, and a four-year university degree. In addition, the company would prefer if it was a Communications or Broadcast Journalism degree, and the salary is between $130,000 and $330,000. So, if you think you have a shot, now’s your chance, however unfortunate it may be for DJ Envy. He even hinted at this by appearing for a recent episode via video call rather than in person.

DJ Envy Calls Into The Breakfast Club Amid Fraud Drama

Regardless of the gossip and drama, here’s what the Queens native had to say about these accusations against him. “Let me explain some things,” DJ Envy began, ignoring Charlamagne Tha God’s advice to trust his lawyers and zip up. “Listen, so Cesar and myself did seminars. Now the reason I did these seminars is because I wanted to uplift my community. I wanted to teach my community about real estate. Things that I didn’t know when I was first buying my first home. I wanted to teach our community about investing in generational wealth.

“I do understand how people feel if they gave him money. Because I gave him a lot of money,” he continued. “I didn’t see a dollar of return. For anyone to say that I was involved, that’s totally not true. I would never, I been on radio for close to 30 years, and never in my 30 years time did I do nothing but try to uplift people in different ways with a business mind. Sleepy Hallow’s “The Breakfast Club” Interview Canceled Over Safety Concerns, Rapper Claims

Recently, Sleepy Hallow took to social media to air some of his frustrations. According to him, he’s had various appearances canceled as of late. The rapper claims that organizers have cited “safety” and “security” issues as their reasons for cancelling. He believes that the debacle surrounds his ongoing court case.

“Last week I had a mental health expo I couldn’t attend cause they said something about ‘safety issues,’” he began. “Today The Breakfast Club dubbed me talking bout ‘security issues’ like they ain’t know I was coming this whole week.” He then went on, seeming annoyed that he’s being perceived as dangerous. “Honestly I know it’s cause of my court case,” he explained. “But I thought I was innocent until proven guilty lol.” Luckily for him, it looks like he could still lock in an appearance on No Jumper, based on an encouraging comment from Adam 22. “Lol Just do no jumper wtf is the breakfast gonna ask you,” he wrote.

Back in May, Sleepy Hallow was arrested in connection to a series of Brooklyn shootings. Also among those charged in the indictment was Sheff G. “The senseless gun violence, allegedly committed by these defendants, terrorized our neighbors for years and left more than a dozen people with serious injuries. It is distressing to know that some of the violence was allegedly fueled by a young man who used money he made from a successful music career to allegedly pay for and encourage acts of violence,” Brooklyn D.A. Eric Gonzalez said of the arrests.

Despite his legal troubles, Sleepy Hallow has continued to release music over the past few months. In September, he unveiled his first album since his 2021 debut, Still Sleep?
