Jada Pinkett Smith Fires Back At Critics Of Her Memoir, “Worthy”

Jada Pinkett Smith has responded to critics of her new memoir, Worthy. Appearing on The Breakfast Club, she took particular aim at Ana Navarro, who slammed the book during a recent episode of The View. Navarro accused Jada of intentionally embarrassing her husband, Will Smith, for book sales. She said at the time: “I don’t wanna read the book. I don’t wanna give them another dime for her emasculating and embarrassing him to everybody in the world.”

“Well, I think if she took time to read the book, you know? I think that, if you wanna just read headlines, I could see how that could be confusing,” Jada said in response. “But the book is right here.” She added that everyone has “a right to their opinions” and claimed “anybody who’s saying that hasn’t really done their homework.”

Jada Pinkett Smith Reveals Why She Didn’t Name August Alsina In Her Memoir

Jada Pinkett Smith recently appeared on The Breakfast Club, where she discussed her new memoir, Worthy. The book details her rocky relationship with her husband Will Smith, revealing that the two have them have actually been separated for seven years. Famously, she was linked to August Alsina at one point in their previously-unknown separation, which was dubbed an “entanglement.”

Considering all that Pinkett Smith shared, some were surprised that she failed to mention Alsina’s name in the book. Charlamagne Tha God asked her about this decision, which she claims was for his sake. According to her, the 31-year-old has been through quite a bit, and she didn’t want to create even more stress in his life. “I felt like he’s been through enough,” she explained. “You know what I mean? And I just wanted to be respectful in that manner.”

In 2020, he sat down with Angela Yee to speak on their romance, reflecting on the years he spent with Pinkett Smith.

“I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her,” he explained. “I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it — so much so to the point that I can die right now and be okay with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody.” What do you think of Jada Pinkett Smith’s decision to to include August Alsina’s name in her new memoir, Worthy? Rick Ross Shares Thoughts On Jada Pinkett Smith And Her Memior: “Come On Jada, Chill Out Baby”

Rick Ross is making headlines with his candid opinions on actress Jada Pinkett Smith and her newly released memoir, Worthy. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the rapper didn’t hold back, expressing his strong sentiments about Jada’s book tour and the personal revelations it contained. Jada’s memoir delved into the intricate details of her life and her relationship with husband Will Smith. The book left no stone unturned, offering an intimate look at the ups and downs of their marriage. Rick Ross had previously voiced his disapproval, particularly concerning how Jada openly discussed her and Will’s private matters, causing him to reevaluate his own perspective on marriage.

In his recent interview with Rolling Stone, Rick Ross did not mince words when asked about Jada’s book tour. Rozay made his opinion clear when he said he doesn’t agree with Jada. He also said that she felt she was out of touch. “I don’t think I agree with Jada Pinkett,” he said. “To me, she’s psychologically lost and needs some counseling. Jesus! What are you going to tell us next? When you tell us you haven’t been together in six years, you haven’t had sex in this many years, you don’t have a prenuptial agreement — OK, what’s next?”

Furthermore, he continued by expressing that “I heard the book flopped because she already told us everything. No one cares. That’s what they don’t understand. Sometimes as celebrities, you can get out of touch. Will Smith isn’t the same Will Smith as he was 20 years ago. Jada Pinkett, chill out, baby!” Ross then proceeded to say that the public is not interested in further stories. “You were in the movie Set It Off, and that’s all we know you from. You got $15K for that role and that’s it. Calm down. You f**cked your son’s best friend. You said your son introduced you to psychedelics. What’s next?! And to be honest, we’re not interested! I don’t want to know if Tupac got alopecia! Jada, Rozay still got love for you, but go sit down.”

Rick Ross’ unfiltered comments reflect the divergent opinions surrounding Jada Pinkett Smith’s memoir and her candid revelations about her marriage. While some applaud her transparency, others, like Rick Ross, have reservations about it. Mostly due to the debate of the extent to which such personal matters should be shared with the public. You are in peaceful, beautiful Ojai. Why are you so scared? Because, I answer right back, what if THIS actually kills me?”

From there, she continues: “Three months earlier, in the wake of my fortieth birthday, my biggest worry was Well, what if it DOESN’T? For two decades, I had been putting on a good face, going with the flow, telling everyone I was okay. Yet underneath, bouts of depression and overwhelming hopelessness had smoldered until they turned into raging hellfire in my broken heart. Unwelcome feelings — of not deserving love — made it harder to understand the disconnect between the so-called perfect life I had achieved and the well of loss I carried with me. Therapy helped up to a point. It got me to forty! But to what end?”

Elsewhere, she describes “checking off boxes” to prove she lives a happy life and how those “boxes” haven’t supplied her with the joy she expected. “I followed the rules … the rules we’re told to follow. You work hard, make sacrifices for those you love,” she explained. Jada Pinkett Smith’s Worthy releases on October 17th. Be on the lookout for further updates on the book on HotNewHipHop.

Jada Pinkett Smith Slammed After Sharing Footage Of Tupac Rapping Will Smith Song

Jada Pinkett Smith’s relationship with Tupac Shakur has become a contentious topic over the years, and that’s especially true after Will Smith went to bat for her at the Oscars in 2022. However, the public discourse evidently hasn’t affected how she celebrates the late rapper’s legacy. The actress and MC attended the Baltimore School Of Arts together and carried their friendship throughout their time in the limelight. But, regardless of public opinion, Jada Pinkett Smith denied that their relationship was anything more than platonic.

Interestingly enough, before she and Will Smith even met, Jada Pinkett and ‘Pac appeared to have a common appreciation for DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. On Tuesday, she previewed an excerpt from her upcoming memoir, Worthy, on Instagram that discussed her relationships with Tupac and Will Smith. She shared a video of herself and Tupac lipsyncing to “Parents Just Don’t Understand” in front of a green screen during their time in high school together.

“Not in a million years would I have dreamed that the Fresh Prince and I would become, um, very acquainted,” she says in the excerpt. “Not in a million years did I imagine three lives, their fates, would be so intertwined. And… I never would have imagined that this video would become a tangible memory, of the last time Pac and I, were simply kids together,” she continued. “Pac and I lip-syncing ‘Parents Just Don’t Understand’ by Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince during our Junior year in high school. Who would have thought?”

Social Media Scorns Jada Pinkett

While people like DJ Jazzy Jeff and Lena Waithe appreciated the throwback footage, not everyone shared similar levels of excitement about the footage. Although some felt as though this reflected Will Smith’s longevity in the entertainment industry, others felt like she was trying to convey something deeper. “Imagine slapping Chris Rock because of Jada Pinkett Smith and then losing movie roles over it, only for her to post a video of her and 2Pac lip-syncing to your song on IG. Will Smith, we’re praying for you,” one user wrote. Many others echoed a similar sentiment, claiming that she shared the footage to spite Will Smith, for whatever reason. Check out a few of the responses below.
