TI Claims Drake Vs Kendrick Lamar Is Most Exacerbated Beef Of All Time

TI has got opinions. The legendary rapper has already given J Cole his flowers for bowing out of the Big Three Battle, and affirmed that lying about other rappers in song is an acceptable tactic. He’s not done giving his two cents, though. TI recently went on DJ Whoo Kid’s SiriusXM Whoo’s House Podcast, and he decided he had a solution to the ongoing (?) battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. The way TIP sees it, the two superstars should come together and do a joint tour.

TI called the Drake and Kendrick Lamar battle “probably one of the more exacerbated beefs” he’s ever seen. It’s a bold statement, given that he spent most of the 2000s going to war with every other rapper in the South. Regardless, TI has matured and praised both artists for defining their generation. “I got respect for both of them,” he explained to the hosts. “I think [Drake and Kendrick are] both phenomenal hitmakers.” Where things took an interesting turn is when TI suggested they should set their differences aside for a massive payday. “I’m just waiting on the tour,” he noted. “That’s the only thing.”

TI Thinks Both Rappers Would Benefit From A “Reunion”

The “Live Your Life” rapper has a rationalization for his bold proposal. He feels like things have gotten so bad between Drake and Lamar that a public reunion is the only thing that would outdo it. All the lies and the hateful bars are cool, but coming together would be even bigger. “Listen, after the disagreement, the only thing that’s gon’ sell is the reunion,” he added.

TI isn’t the first rapper to suggest Drake, Kenny and Cole should bury the hatchet. Chuck D claimed they go on tour while the former two were still battling each other on wax. The Public Enemy icon stated that they should capitalize on the friction between them and use it for something positive. “These fantastic 3 rappers (I’m biased for KL) have songs that never will get this public attention,” he wrote. “Hence this low hanging kid sh*t turns casuals heads… Get them all on a TOUR so we can pick seats.” We aren’t going to hold our breath on that tour, based on where things left off.

TI Claims Drake Vs Kendrick Lamar Ruined Things For Other Rappers

T.I. is no stranger to rap battles. When he was beefing with Shawty Lo, the Atlanta rapper went to Lo’s neighborhood and shot the music video for the diss record “What Up, What’s Haapnin’.” He knows how to be disrespectful. That being said, TI is not thrilled with the direction that the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle went. He recently went on Big Boy TV to discuss the fallout of the battle, and asserted that it has been harmful to some of the other rappers who have tried to drop in 2024.

TI made it clear upfront that he didn’t care about rappers lying. He considered it to be part of the game. He told the radio host that his focus goes towards the wordplay and the writing. “All this sh*t they saying can’t be true,” he asserted. “I mostly listen for the double entendres, the metaphors and the skill in which they present their art. They hard. I think it’s good for the game.” The Atlanta icon was less positive with regards to what the battle has done to other rappers. He pointed out that Drake and Dot sucked up all the oxygen in the room with regards to hip-hop, and everything else has been effectively drowned out.

TI Also Praised J. Cole For Choosing “Peace”

“I will say this,” TI added. “They done kinda f*cked it up for some other who were planning to drop in this period.” The rapper has a fair point. Gunna recently dropped a new album, One of Wun, and most of the attention was on the bars that could be perceived as digs at the 6 God. TI, himself, has been working on completing his final album, Kill the King. There isn’t a release date yet, but the Atlanta rapper definitely had no plans of dropping a double album in the midst of the biggest rap battle of the 21st century.

TI also talked to Big Boy about J. Cole’s decision to avoid the battle. While many industry veterans have criticized the rapper for buckling, TIP was complimentary. “I feel [like] he chose peace and tranquility,” he noted. “You got to have thick skin… We don’t know where that would take him. That was quite mature of him.” Fans are still waiting on that TI album, but he did recently drop a killer freestyle over West Coast instrumentals.

TI Drops Dizzying G-Funk Freestyle While Fans Wait For New Album

T.I. is a monster on the mic. There’s a reason he’s been able to call himself the King of the South for almost three decades. He’s a trap pioneer, so much so that his breakout album is literally called Trap Muzik. That being said, TI is not limited to Southern fried instrumentals. The rapper recently went on Power 106.1 and dropped a head-spinning freestyle over production that is antithetical to what we expect. TIP showed fans that he could pivot towards G-Funk without missing a beat.

Adorned in a hoodie and sunglasses, TIP skated over the classic instrumental to “Dre Day” by Dr. Dre. “F*ck a player hater, I’m a mayor maker,” he spits. “Out in L.A. laid up like I’m Ghost on Takers, know I’m staying with it.” In the span of a couple lines, TI makes it clear that he’s still the King. He also tips (no pun intended) his cap to the West Coast and references the 2010 film in which he starred, Takers. The rest of the freestyle follows this dense rhyming pattern. The instrumental changes halfway through TI’s verse but he doesn’t slow down.

TI Spit Bars Over A Classic Dr. Dre Instrumental

If anything, he picks up steam. “Old dime a dozen a*s n**ga you are not rare,” he raps. “21 years in this motherf*cker, top tier. We are not peers, when we cheer it is not beer.” He also incorporates the 21 from the previous line into a shoutout to 21 Savage, whom he affectionally dubs his “grandson.” It’s impressive to see TI adapt his flow and style so seamlessly, but it makes sense given what the rapper has in store for his next album.

He talked about the album on the Baller Alert Show back in 2023, and revealed a plan to experiment with different sounds. “I been making some music, and the music I’m making is… how can I say,” he explained to the hosts. “It’s expanding beyond just the concept that I have. I’ve been making somewhat, I guess, more melodic, you know, more R&B vibes, Afrobeat-R&B vibe, party music.”

TI hasn’t provided updates on the album this year, but he has maintained that it will be his last. Kill the King, as it’s been titled, will be a double album and a sendoff to the rapper’s reign. “It’s time to evolve beyond a career as a rapper,” he stated to We In Miami podcast. If he’s rapping like he is on this latest freestyle, fans are in for a classic.

T.I. Delivers On Promise Of Dropping An NBA YoungBoy Collab With “LLOGCLAY”

When you think about the founding fathers of trap music, especially from the hallowed city of Atlanta, T.I. automatically deserves a spot. The legend has been around for over 20 years and provided the genre with countless classics, especially in the late 2000s. However, as the saying goes, “all good things must come to an end.” T.I. is supposedly going to call it quits musically speaking after he drops a double album.

The rumored title for said project(s) is Kill The King and Kiss The King, but we have inside information as to when it will drop. T.I. announced this news during an October interview with the crew over at the We In Miami podcast. What he also revealed to the world was that an NBA YoungBoy collaboration was in the works and that it was going to a surprising listen for fans. That track that T.I. is referring to now has a title and it is called “LLOGCLAY.”

Listen To “LLOGCLAY” By T.I. & NBA YoungBoy

This first-time collaboration between two of the South’s most prolific names sees them rap passionately over a piano and finger-snapping instrumental. T.I. lowkey was not lying when he said this was going to be something fresh. YB puts forth one of his best recordings and his cadence is smoky and deeper than usual. It is a beautiful track and T.I. dedicated this track to an assumed close friend of his. “This 1 is for my day 1 patna Clay Evans, rest in power King!!”

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “LLOGCLAY” by T.I. and NBA YoungBoy? Is this one of his stronger releases as of late, why or why not? Did YB give one of his strongest performances of his career on this cut, why or why not? Does this get you excited for T.I.’s upcoming and final double album? Today In Hip Hop History: T.I. Kicked Alfamega Off Grand Hustle Roster 15 Years Ago

Screenshot 2024 05 08 at 7.10.03 AM

n this date in 2009, T. I. was forced to boot fellow Atlanta rapper off of his Grand Hustle Records roster because it was revealed that the up and coming artist was an informant for the DEA.

The online tabloid The Smoking Gun first broke the story, when legal documents were uncovered that showed that Alfamega was an informant for the Drug Enforcement Agency during the trial of a heroin trafficker.

T.I., who himself went to jail because pf one of his bodyguards working with authorities in his publicized 2007 gun-buying asting, in which the Grand Hustle CEO had to serve a year and a day behind bars. Needless to say, T.I. was more than livid when this information was discovered about his newest artist.

“Even though all of our artists and employees are asked by us to be honest and open about their paat history, at no time did Alfa disclose to me or Grand Hustle was has now appeared on the media,” T.I. read in a statement on MisInfo.TV. “He essentially deceived us…”

No one in Hip Hop has ever heard from the rapper known as Alfamega ever again.

T.I. Keeps It Real With Wannabe Rapper Looking For Him To Change Her Life: Watch

The music industry is one of the most cutthroat industries in the world without a doubt. There are plenty of one-hit wonders that have come and gone, as well as some who work hard, but can never seem to break through. Then, there are the handful that truly made it and reached heights that many aspire to reach. One of Southern hip-hop’s icons, T.I. is a prime example of someone who has accomplished a lot, but also transformed a genre with their influence. One rapper looking reach the level that T.I. has, Trapicana, attempted to put herself out there and audition for his Grand Hustle label.

According to AllHipHop, Trapicana was looking for T.I. to change her life with this street tryout, but it did not go according to plan. The hopeful femcee posted the interaction between them on her Instagram and in it, she really tried to convince him. She kept rapping even after T.I. interjected and you can tell that she is giving this her all. But, instead of totally blowing Trapicana off, the Atlanta mogul offered up some great advice.

T.I. started off by saying, “Let me tell you something. Stop running up to n****s think they gone change your life. Ain’t nobody gone change your life but you,” he stated. Trapicana was then met with a “Hell naw,” after she asked again if he would change her fortunes. “I’m helping you by telling you don’t look for a n**** like me to change your life. You got everything you need already. It’s in you, don’t look to me.” After a couple more futile attempts, they eventually embraced and Trapicana told him, “Appreciate it. I needed that talk.”

What are your thoughts on T.I. denying giving Trapicana a record deal after her impromptu audition? Do you think he was being too harsh, or just keeping it real and giving her great advice? Based on what you heard, would you sign her to a label, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. T.I. Teases Modern Trap Rappers In Stand-Up Comedy Set

T.I. wants to make it clear that he can be a funny guy too, and not just one of the pillars of trap music and Southern rap as a whole. Moreover, he recently appeared on BET’s revived series Comic View, and one particular clip from his stand-up set is gaining a lot of traction on social media. The Atlanta legend is well-known for his perspectives on contemporary hip-hop happenings, such as Killer Mike’s recent Grammys arrest. As such, it’s no surprise that he has some comical and light takes on trap music today, ones that a lot of folks seem to have resonated with.

“Listen, the first generation of trap music, people like me, Jeezy, Yo Gotti, you know what I’m saying?” T.I. remarked during his time onstage. “We were rapping about things we had done, got away with, and moved on. You hear me? You listen to [this] new age trap music? Oh, they are talking about s**t they finna do tomorrow, you feel what I’m saying?” The crowd erupted with laughter during these comments, and it was very interesting to see what elements of today’s hip-hop he finds funny.

T.I. Jokes About Today’s Trap Rappers: Watch

Not only that, but this adds to T.I.’s recent comments on the younger generation of rap artists on Shaquille O’Neal’s Big Podcast. “This generation reminds me of every other generation,” he expressed. “You got some people who are exceptionally dope, and some people who are just alright. You know what I mean? But it’s a lot more of it to choose from now. I feel that, actually, what they’ve done with music is equivalent to if they were to open up the doors of the arena and say, ‘Anybody think you can play basketball? Come on out the stands out here to the floor. Here you go, a jersey, man. Get in the game.’”

Elsewhere, the 43-year-old discussed the possibility of getting an ownership stake in a sports team one day. “So many of my contemporaries like Nelly, you know, he got a piece of Charlotte, and Usher’s got a piece of Cleveland,” he began. “You know, people be asking me, ‘Would I ever do it?’ And I don’t think I would, you know? Because I just can’t see me taking so much of my money, investing it in something, and I can’t do what the f**k I wanna do. I just can’t imagine that. I’m gonna put my money into something where I can dictate, and I can determine, the way it’s gonna go.” For more news and updates on T.I., keep checking in with HNHH.

T.I. Gracefully Reacts To Awkward Fan Encounter: Watch

As one of the biggest rappers out of the South for over twenty years, T.I. knows a thing or two about how to handle awkward fan interactions. One recent clip has fans particularly praising his gracious and polite nature, despite not liking what a fan was doing. Moreover, the Atlanta trap pioneer and community advocate was recently filmed chopping it up with some fans, speaking to one in particular about an upcoming project he’s shooting and editing that he might need some help with. Then, another fan approached him and asked if he could rap for him, to which he responded with a simple “No” before accepting his request for a picture.

Not only that, but T.I. also asked the fan to lower his arm off his shoulder, remarking he doesn’t like that before smiling for the camera as if he had just laughed at a joke. It’s at least impressive to see just how fast he can change on a dime. Of course, the 43-year-old has such a storied career that fans have plenty of reasons to want to engage with him for. There’s his classic established catalog, and then his mentor-like historical perspective on the current rap landscape, commenting on a lot of current trends, events, and evolutions in hip-hop.

But it’s always fun to look back at the journey to the present, right? Bow Wow recently reflected on how T.I. helped him craft his third album, 2003’s Unleashed. “This is before the King album, this is before A.T.L., this is young Tip,” he shared. “Me and Tip wrote that third album together with my man R.O.C. Me and Tip really kicked it. We had moments, especially in the studio. Him giving me that freedom, him teaching me how to write. Cadence, bars, song structure, just everything.

“He was giving me the answers that I wanted Jermaine to give me,” Bow continued. “He was definitely a hundred in the studio. Tip was, that’s my dog. Even to this day, that’s my big bro right there.” For more news and the latest updates on T.I., keep checking in with HNHH.
