SNOT And Cochise Sound Triumphant On New Single “Hilarious”

SNOT and Cochise made a splash with their 2021 collab “Tell ‘Em.” It was bouncy, playful, and super catchy. The duo showcased a lot of chemistry on the song, especially with their ability to swap bars back and forth. Fans were under the impression there would be more SNOT and Cochise songs coming, but it took three years for the duo to deliver a proper follow-up. Thankfully, “Hilarious” is worth the wait. It’s a completely different vibe from “Tell ‘Em,” as it puts the two rappers in celebration mode.

The instrumental is night and day with regards to the duo’s previous song. “Tell ‘Em” had a jittery, night time feel to it. “Hilarious,” on the other hand, feels more energetic. The synths are bright, like a summer party that started during the day. The synths do a lot of the heavy lifting. They evoke the same feel as Jay-Z’s “Ignant Sh*t.” That’s the last Jay comparison that’s going to be made, though. SNOT and his partner in crime are not trying to dazzle the listener with wordplay. It’s all catchy vocals riffs and Auto Tuned trash talk. And it sounds great. Cochise’s vocals sounds particularly smooth on the back end of the song.

Tyga & 310babii Collide On Bouncy Single “Uh Huh”

Tyga is staying hot as he drops a club-ready track with 310babii, “Uh Huh”. This is now the California veteran’s third solo release of the year, following “Sensei” and “Hello B*tch”. The latter is taking off, raking in about 2.2 million views on YouTube in two weeks. Part of the reason it is doing so well is the instrumental and the sample that it works in. Lil Jon’s classic “Couldn’t Be A Better Playa” is used to great effect, modernizing the eerie beat for the youth. In a similar way to “Hello B*tch”, Tyga is putting people on to something or someone many people might not know. 310babii is relatively new to the rap game, with the Inglewood, California native blowing up just last year.

The song to know is “soak city”, which has an equally popular alternate all-West Coast version. Tyga makes an appearance, along with Blueface, OHGEESY, and the BlueBucksClan. Subsequently, that seems to be where him and 310 begun to develop some synergy. Now, Tyga has him one of his tracks, that being “Uh Huh”. Also like the last single, this one is also ready for the night club atmosphere. Both rappers are extremely braggadocious, as per usual, and the instrumental is also pretty ear-grabbing. The quick piano keys and heavy bass play really nice together. Tyga and 310 do find pockets very quickly and they are able to keep things engaging throughout the short but punchy run time. There is a chance that this track, along with the other two we mentioned, do have some chance of making an album this year. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but if Tyga proceeds in that manner he has a solid record on his hands.

Chance The Rapper Keeps The Comeback Momentum Alive With “Stars Out”

Chance The Rapper is an artist who hasn’t given us a new album in five years. Overall, the hiatus makes sense given the reception to The Big Day. This was supposed to be Chance’s big debut album, and it fell flat. Quite simply, there was too much going on. The production was all over the place and the features didn’t really make much sense. However, Chance is gearing up to drop an album called Star Line Gallery, and based on all of the teasers, it seems like Chance is on course to completely change the narrative around his career.

The first single “Buried Alive” was a nice return to form that fans were enjoying quite a bit. Today, Chance dropped off “Stars Out” which is a song that will definitely put you in a good mood this lovely Friday. From the guitar chords that start the track to Chance’s laid-back flows, this is a song that will have you reminiscing about that vintage Chance sound. Overall, this is another solid effort, and we can’t wait to hear what’s next for the artist.

Let us know what you think of this new track from Chance The Rapper, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that Chance is in the midst of an incredible comeback? What are your expectations for his upcoming album? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. Rakim, Kurupt, & Masta Killa Are Lyrical Wizards On “BE ILL”

The God MC has made his return. Rakim, the legendary lyricist hailing from New York City, is back with “BE ILL”, along with Kurupt and Masta Killa. This brand-new single comes almost a month after a very exciting announcement from Kurupt on Instagram. “July 26th – “Rebirth” Rakim new album Produced by Tha God Mc himself…. #Rakim #MasterKilla #GOTTi MY GOD……” Yes, after 15 years, the mystical rapper is coming back with a new LP. Fans were thrilled about the stunning development and now we are just 30 days and change away from it.

On “BE ILL”, Rakim, Kurupt, and Masta Killa are dishing out bars on top of bars, as well as intricate rhymes. The beat is also stellar, with the drum patterns being the standout feature. It is head-nodding bop as each vet brings their A game. According to Pitchfork, Gods Network (REB7RTH) will indeed be just seven tracks, leaving no room for error. But if there is any rapper that can make a project as concise as this, Rakim is the man for the job. Features will be plentiful and exciting ones at that, as Method Man, Nipsey Hussle, Snoop Dogg, 38 Spesh, B.G., and more will appear. As we mentioned, this fourth solo album is a decade and a half in the making and will follow up on The Seventh Seal.

Key Glock Is Locked In On The Ominous & Braggadocious Slapper “Big Big Money”

It seems that fans have been waiting an eternity for Key Glock to drop “Big Big Money”. Well, the wait is finally over, as the prolific rapper has delivered it this weekend. His supporters on YouTube have claimed that “REAL Key Glock fans been waiting on this since 2017”. If that is true, then this song had better be good. To no surprise it is, as the Memphis talent continues to churn out hits in 2024.

Every single that has been put out this year has resonated with audiences. Whether it be the production, the flows or the bars, Key Glock continues to prove why he is one of the most consistent MCs in the game. Once again, Mr. Glock links up with his partner in crime, King Wonka. These two just always seem to be on the same wavelength and “Big Big Money” is another example of that. Even though the 26-year-old sticks to a certain lyrical formula, it rarely comes across as repetitive. His ever-changing flows and his recognition for interesting trap beats keep you on your toes. One track that we feel is a good example of this is “F*** Around & Find Out”. “Big Big Money” is also like the latter, as Glock slices through the dark instrumental like a hot knife through butter.

Rod Wave Releases Ballad “Lonely” Ahead Of New Unnamed Project

Rod Wave has built quite the committed fan base since he made landfall toward the end of the 2010 decade. With an instantly recognizable take on the R&B genre, the Floridian singer and balladeer was able to rise quite quickly. 2023 was a pretty good year for the veteran, as he put out his fifth studio album, Nostalgia. It featured a healthy number of popular songs, including “Turks & Caicos”, featuring 21 Savage, “Great Gatsby”, Boyz Don’t Cry”, and “Fight The Feeling”. The project also did well numbers wise, selling 137,000 copies in its first week, which helped it stay at number one on the Billboard Hot 200 two weeks straight. Now, Rod Wave is gearing up for another potential hit record, dropping its second single “Lonely”.

Fans we treated to a 2024 version of “Numb”, as the original landed on Rod’s 2018 tape, Hunger Games 3. Despite sharing the same title, the sound of each one is starkly different. On “Lonely”, Rod is delivering his signature melodies and twinkly production, as he passionately sings about a girl he wants to save from toxic men. The YouTube-exclusive single is already seeing tremendous praise from fans, as it is currently number 13 on Trending for music. You can tell that Rod is dealing with more pain and strong feelings on this track and it seems the album will feature more examples just like “Lonely”. “This f***ing project hurt so bad, but [I’m going to give] it to y’all”, he said on Instagram according to HipHopNMore. There is no clear release date for the album yet, but best believe that fans are readier than ever for it.

GloRilla Has Another Viral Hit With Promiscuous Banger “TGIF”

GloRilla has taken over the Memphis rap scene in 2024. You also have contenders like Key Glock vying for that top spot. However, we feel that she deserves the recognition, as she has made on heck of a comeback. A lot of people were on the fence about the trajectory that the raunchy rapper was on. That much was true in 2023 after a series of disappointing songs and features. That has all been put to rest in 2024, ever since she dropped her first song back in February, “Yeah Glo!”. From there, the 24-year-old provided even more hits on her mixtape, Ehhthang Ehhthang. But GloRilla is showing that she has no intentions of slowing down, as she is back with “TGIF”.

This single is made for all the single ladies who are down for a weekend of debauchery. Like “Yeah Glo!”, “TGIF” is an instant hit. From the orchestral string sections to the rumbling bass and 808s, as well as the horn sections, it is a perfect melting pot, sonically. Then, there is Glo’s performance which is full of energy (per usual) and features one of stickiest choruses/post-choruses to date. Even though she has already dropped a project and several singles this year, “TGIF” was too good of a moment to pass up on. The track started go viral on social media, especially TikTok, as GloRilla teased it with the caption, “What day y’all want me to drop?”. She is just on another level this year and we hope to see it continue.

IDK Links With Gunna For Flexing Anthem “TiFFANY”

IDK is seemingly recruiting an all-star lineup for his next album, as he drops “TiFFANY” with trap superstar Gunna. We say that because the London, England rapper and singer grabbed Joey Bada$$ for “DENiM”, the lead single for BRAVADO INTiMO. On the previous track, IDK and Joey both brought it over a smooth boom-bap flavored beat. With that in mind, Gunna certainly had some pretty big shoes to fill following “DENiM”. The Atlanta lyricist does succeed, especially when it comes to sticking to the topical focus of “TiFFANY”. That being that living for the grind will put you ahead of so many other people in life.

I’m the type that could never lose (Never lose) / I’m the type that be breakin’ rules / And I’m breakin’ backs, gotta bring it back“, IDK raps on the first few bars of his verse. Also making this track go is the trap beat cheffed up by Kenny Stuntin, EVRGRN, and Turbo, the latter being a frequent producer of Gunna’s. It helps this first-time link-up more seamless between two fairly different rappers. As for BRAVADO INTiMO, the details are pretty scarce. Outside of the title and the tandem of singles, the release date and cover art are unknown. It is expected to hit streaming sometime this year, though. It will eventually follow up on the massive F65, which also had a star-studded cast of Benny The Butcher, Snoop Dogg, NLE Choppa, Rich The Kid, and more.

Rich The Kid, Kanye West And Ty Dolla Sign Flex On “Gimme A Second 2”

Rich the Kid already struck gold with “Gimme a Second.” The hard-hitting single sounded slick and nocturnal, and the Peso Pluma verse introduce Rich to a brand new audience. It was hard to imagine a sequel would be able to match the song’s lightning in a bottle feel. Somehow, Rich the Kid managed to top it. The rapper enlisted Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign, who are basically a duo at this point, and they supercharge the single “Gimme a Second 2.”

Credit to Rich the Kid. He didn’t just get two new artists and throw them on the same instrumental. He rolled out “Gimme a Second 2” with a new sound that evokes Yeezus-era Kanye West. There are eerie choirs in the background, and the hard drum pattern that was buried in the original mix is pushed to the front. It’s to the song’s benefit. Rich the Kid sounds more aggressive during his verse, but the real scene stealer is Kanye. The controversial rapper’s best lyrical moments are behind him, but he still knows how to be memorable. “Girl named Dallas, send a hundred texts,” he raps. “Before I send a b**ch a blessing. I need to see if the sex good, I’m a sexist.” West’s flow is reminiscent of his turn on the Rick Ross single “Sanctified,” which is a good thing. It worked then, and it works now.

Ice Spice Gives Fans What They Want On New “Phat Butt” Single

Ice Spice is a formulaic artist. It’s not a criticism, per say. Most successful pop stars hit upon a formula that works, and continue to make variations on said formula until it gets stale. Fortunately, for the Bronx rapper, it hasn’t gotten stale. Ice Spice has cornered the market when it comes to trash-talking over pop rap beats with trap flourishes. If “Munch” is the blueprint for this sound, than “Phat Butt” is evidence that Spice’s upcoming album, Y2K, is going to be dedicated exclusively to bangers.

“Phat Butt” is actually the first track on Ice Spice’s impending debut. Musically speaking, it’s easy to see why. There’s an bass-heavy start, before the drums kick in and an ominous synth takes over. It’s one of the more adventurous beats Spice has rapped on, as it sounds closer to somebody Playboi Carti or Ken Carson would release. It also has the self-awareness to not overstay its welcome. “Phat Butt” is a little over two minutes in length, which is perfect. As one can intuit from the title, there isn’t much being said that we haven’t heard before. Ice Spice trash talks her ops and her butt. There is some fun wordplay on the back end of the song, though, when Spice starts rapping about Batman and Pac-Man. It’s light and fun, ultimately.
