The Kid Laroi & Quavo Want To “Slow It Down” On Their Collab

After taking a long hiatus following the release of F*CK LOVE 3+: OVER YOU in 2021, The Kid LAROI came back firing on all cylinders in 2023 with his official debut album. THE FIRST TIME features hits like “NIGHTS LIKE THIS” with some of the deluxe cuts now causing some buzz. “BABY I’M BACK” and “GIRLS” are the ones ringing off at the moment. However, now the youngster from Australia is back in this creative groove, he doesn’t want to slow things down. The Kid LAROI is here this weekend with “SLOW IT DOWN,” a sexier pop rap/pop crossover with former Migo, Quavo. It’s their first collaboration and given their ability to adjust to so many genres, the team-up almost makes too much sense.

The single follows up on “APEROL SPRITZ,” an indirect love letter to pop star and girlfriend, Tate McRae. Given the lack of time in between releases, it seems like LAROI is back in album mode. Genius apparently has the inside scoop, with WATCH THIS! being the supposed title. The “STAY” rapper and singer hasn’t formally announced anything on his socials, but we think this is a real possibility. He’s on a hot streak, so why ruin that? “SLOW IT DOWN” definitely has the potential to be another hit for LAROI with its sticky melody and chorus. Check it out with the link below and see if you agree with our assessment.

Boldy James, Babyface Ray, & Harry Fraud Get The “Shrink Wrap”

“Shrink Wrap” brings together an unexpected Detroit duo: Boldy James and Babyface Ray, with Harry Fraud paving the way. The track flows effortlessly over Fraud’s signature smooth production, showcasing the exceptional chemistry among all three artists. Although they are from different sides of the city, both James and Ray are comfortable exchanging games. Their unity is captivating, and the two blend each other’s styles throughout the song, which is notably enjoyable.

Fans will enjoy Boldy James and Babyface Ray’s similar stories with polar opposite messages. The track’s glossy production offers rap stars a blank canvas, further enhancing their creativity. Both artists display some word-play tricks we’ve never heard before. After the creative year, Boldy James has had, it’s amazing how limitless his lyrical prowess has become. Ray’s latest collaboration comes after the release of his impressive album, The Kid That Did, in September.

The Bricktionary, arriving November 22, includes the lead single “Cecil Fielder.” With their previous collaborations receiving rave reviews, Boldy James continues to push boundaries while staying true to his idolized storytelling. For James as for many others, Harry Fraud’s unique production has created diversity, making him one of hip-hop’s most sought-after producers. This is James’s fourth album of 2024, following the critically acclaimed Across the Tracks and Plenty of Leadership.

FKA Twigs Drops Her Third “Eusexua” Single “Drums of Death”

FKA Twigs‘s Eusexua rollout continues with the release of the fan-favorite dance track “Drums of Death.” In hopes of a viral trend, the singer accompanies the track with an infectious choreographed routine. With its glitchy vocal distortions and pulsating beats, the single delves into the avant-garde. A hit-making formula between FKA Twigs and Koreless continues to work with this experimental track. On the world-building track, Twigs entices her love interest with flirtatious lyrics and a sultry voice.

She sings, “Hello, what do you like? Do you want to meet later? / Relax and ease your mind ’cause you work so much / I know what you like, and you’re my main character / I’m here anytime; you can call me up.” “Drums of Death” follows buzzing singles, the album’s title track, which debuted at #17 on the Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic charts, and “Perfect Stranger.” In interviews, Twigs shared that the album’s creation was inspired by rave music. To her, it’s her best work yet, and she is pleased with fans’ reactions. “I’m finally at peace knowing people have heard it and love it as much as I do,” she shared. “It’s raw, it’s true, and it vibrates with life. I hope it resonates with culture in a meaningful way.”

The album is a must-hear as it pushes the superstar’s artistic boundaries, crafting a soundscape that’s as transformative as it is intimate. “It feels like the core of my identity as an artist,” FKA Twigs told NYLON in August.

Saint JHN Wants Her To Put That “Body On Me”

After “Circles,” Saint JHN’s new single, “Body on Me,” brings a bedroom vibe for the cuffing season. On the upcoming Collections II, the seductive track dives into the songwriter’s interesting love language, which includes synthesized production over lustful lyrics. He continues to create his own land with these creative blends of sounds and melodies that result in addiction. Like his previous work, Saint JHN’s music is ahead of its time as it is an “acquired taste” outside the normal pop sound. The song’s awkwardness creates a beautiful storm. Fans are beginning to see what Roc Nation and other icons saw in his talent now.

The new song and visual have received positive reactions from fans. One YouTube user commented, “The kid from Brooklyn did it again [fire emoji][fire emoji],” while another wrote, “SJ…too nice. Writer, voice, and persona.” A user even inquired about a comparison to Kendrick Lamar, commenting, “Does anyone else think that SAINt JHN and Kendrick Lamar would be amazing collaborators because I do?!” With rave reviews for this and “Circles,” the Grammy winner promises the forthcoming album is his best work yet.

“I have been really tryna hurt myself for you.” He said in a press release. “Life’s been a loop, with me and you; the worst part of this scene is I’m broken too, impossible.” A user on Instagram concurred with his statement, commenting, “He’s definitely gonna be known after this album for those who have slept on this musical genius.”

Ray Vaughn Finally Announces First Project With TDE And Delivers Isaiah Rashad-Assisted Single “East Chatt”

Ray Vaughn is going to help round out what’s been a very strong year for the TDE imprint with an upcoming EP. Not to be greedy or ungrateful, but it’s about damn time! We say that out of excitement though, as the Long Beach, California native has been highly impressive this year. Him, Doechii, and Devin Malik have all been showing that the label is good hands going forward and we ecstatic for what Ray’s going to bring. The extended play will be called The Good, The Bad, & The Dollar Menu, but there’s no release date yet. On top of that, the tracklist remains a mystery as well. However, the latter fact doesn’t surprise us at all because there are a lot of great songs to include on it.

Some of those include collaborations with Pusha T and SiR and terrific solo performances. You can throw “Black Jesus” and “Supposed To Die” into the latter category. According to the press release, The Good, The Bad, & The Dollar Menu is going to be a holistic listening experience. “The EP will showcase the various experiences Ray has encountered through his adolescence, journey as an artist, to his eventual signing with TDE.” While we wait on what should be a personal project, Ray Vaughn is feeding into those themes with his newest offering from it, “EAST CHATT.” It’s another collaborative effort with TDE veteran Isaiah Rashad and a mellow one at that. Rashad kicks the track off with his signature hazy delivery before Vaughn comes in with a passionate verse about his upbringing and successes he’s achieved. You can stream the song below with the music video link.

Lil Nas X Is Moving With A Sense Of Urgency On “Light Again!”

You can nitpick Lil Nas X all you want, but if there’s one thing that you can’t deny is his ability to make infectious hits. The Georgia rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer has shown that time and time again with songs like “INDUSTRY BABY,” “MONTERO,” and of course, “Old Town Road.” Even though it’s been a little bit since we have heard from him, he hasn’t lost his Midas touch. We say that because pretty soon, Lil Nas X should be able to add “LIGHT AGAIN!” to that stacked list of chart-toppers. This is one of his singles that will find a home on his upcoming sophomore album, DREAMBOY. The Georgia native has been teasing this new era for a little bit now and it’s inching closer to becoming reality.

Based on the promotion and some of the things that Nas X has said online, it seems like he just wants to find himself again and release the material he wants to. Sure, the expectations are going to remain fierce, but hearing “LIGHT AGAIN!” he sounds eager, urgent, but also more carefree in some ways. “Back ends, booked up, look up / I’m flyin’, yeah, I’m free now, see now / Society’s tie on me released now / F*** crazy, I’m finna go senile,” he raps. The track has a grand presence to it with thumping drums and the overall swelling build-ups throughout. It’s more of an EDM/pop/dance blend, but the hip-hop elements are still there. Nas X looks to be teasing a more explorative sonic direction with DREAMBOY. as well and we are ready for the ride to come.

Lil Baby Wants To Give His Girl Everything And Then Some On “Insecurities”

Lil Baby is promising his hungry fans a special run going forward, and that includes a new album. The Quality Control signee and Georgia native did so via a fiery Instagram post, writing, “Ain’t It Crazy How They Tryna Play Me Like I Ain’t The One 😤😤!!! It’s That Time! I Would Say Again But This Run Will Be Totally Different!! I Had The Darkest Period Of My Life These Last Two Years But I Stayed Down And Overcame That S*** 🙏🏾 Now I’m Back To Fu*cin S*** Up As Usual…, Sincerely Wham!! WHAM (Who Hard As Me) currently doesn’t have a release date, but Genius is expecting it to be a 2025 project. To formally kick off the rollout, Lil Baby came back today with two singles, “5AM” and “Insecurities.”

In this post, we are focusing on the latter, and this one sees the hitmaker showing his mushier side. He details his strong affection for a woman he’s with. She seems to really be special because Lil Baby’s is willing to shove aside her imperfections. He’s spoiling her with material things, but also with his actions out of the goodness of his heart. Produced by Wheezy, CuBeatz, Klimperboy, KB, Juko, and Macshooter, the track features a nice guitar loop and some pretty piano keys the dance in and out the instrumental. It’s a catchy tune for sure and it’s a solid start for the future album.

Juice WRLD And Nicki Minaj Join Forces For “AGATS2 (Insecure)”

Juice WRLD was a prodigious talent. The rapper scored major hits during his lifetime. His impact on the music world is still being felt even after his death. The rapper’s estate has confirmed that there will be a final posthumous release coming this month. The first single features the Queen of rap herself, Nicki Minaj. Juice WRLD and Nicki may not seem like a combination that makes much sense on paper, but it actually works impressively well on “All Girls Are the Same 2 (Insecure).”

The instrumental is classic Juice WRLD. It’s spacey, bassy, and allows for the rapper’s vocals to weave in and out. Juice WRLD often had an echo effect applied to his vocals that made it seem as though he was projecting from a huge, empty room. And the decision to do so here is reminder of his unique voice. It’s a pretty melodic cut, overall, so it should come as no surprise that Nicki Minaj decides to take a more soft approach on her feature. She doesn’t drop an aggressive sixteen, but rather harmonizes with Juice in a way that compliments both of their voices. “AGATS2 (Insecure)” isn’t a mind-blowing Juice song, but it’s proof that there’s plenty of quality material that fans have yet to hear.

The Weeknd Keeps The Club Vibe Alive With “Open Hearts” Single

The Weeknd’s versatility is underrated. He can dish out crossover pop smashes, tender ballads and killer hip hop features with ease. He does, however, excel most when he’s allowed to lean into his degenerate persona and make party music perfectly suited to making bad decisions. The Weeknd made his name as a lothario who spends too much time in clubs, and the sonic direction of his upcoming album seems to be leaning into the club element more than ever. “Open Hearts” keeps this trend going.

The Weeknd’s new single takes off like a rocket. There’s a glitchy bounce to the instrumental that evokes the 1980s while still keeping the sound firmly planted in the now. The beat sounds cool and confident, an all nighter still in the early hours. The Weeknd’s lyrics, however, convey a different story. In maintaining a theme laid out by the previous singles, “Open Hearts” reckons with the idea of finding love in a hopeless place. “Trapped inside a limbo, watching through a window,” he sings. “Of my soul, Suffering… I’ve been low, then I see your halo.” The seediness is strong as ever, but there’s a faint possibility of redemption in the verses. Hurry Up, Tomorrow is Abel Tesfaye laying the Weeknd persona to rest, and it’s obvious that he’s doing so in style.

Lil Baby Prepares For New Album With “5AM”

Fans have been waiting for Lil Baby’s new album for some time now, and recently, they got yet another taste of what’s to come. Early this morning, the Atlanta rapper dropped off his new song fittingly titled “5AM” alongside an accompanying music video. In the Wheezy-produced track, Lil Baby’s signature flow is complemented by a hard-hitting beat. It serves as a solid teaser for his upcoming LP, which he references towards the end of the song. “Even my mama be askin’ me ‘Where is the album? We want it’ / Had to get on my business and tighten up on my mental, I’m coming,” he raps.

Lil Baby’s latest release arrives amid speculation that he’ll be teaming up with Young Thug for a song sometime soon. Earlier this month, the newly free rapper seemingly teased the collab on X. “Real plea deal jack!” his first post-prison tweet read, followed by “Wham let’s drop one on these rats peter.” This prompted a heartfelt response from Lil Baby, who made it clear he was happy to see Young Thug back home.

“I missed you mf !!” he wrote. “Welcome home my brudda! Thank god you able to get back to the fam in good health and spirits! Wish ya none but billions jack! #whateverwhamsaygoes.” Lil Baby went on to preview a new track at the Don’t Fall In Love festival in San Bernardino and was later spotted in the studio with Young Thug, Travis Scott, and Future. “5AM” also arrives amid comparisons to Gunna resulting from the A Gift & a Curse artist’s rumored beef with Young Thug.
