NxWorries Reveals Star-Studded Tracklist For New Album “Why Lawd?”

NxWorries are a versatile duo. Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge have worked with tons of musical titans since they released their debut album in 2018, so it should come as no surprise that they called in some of their famous connections for the follow-up, Why Lawd?. It was already going to be exciting to see how .Paak and Knxwledge interacted given the gap between releases, but throwing in legends from the R&B, hip-hop and comedy (!) world is bound to attract curious listeners.

Why Lawd? runs 19 tracks, which is the same length as the first NxWorries album, Yes Lawd. The first album had no guest features, however, whereas Why Lawd? kicks off with an introducing featuring none other than Dave Chappelle. The tracklist gets wilder from there, as Thundercat drops by on “KeepHer”, H.E.R. pops up on “Where I Go,” and Snoop Dogg splits the bill on “FromHere.” Nobody expected to see an Earl Sweatshirt and Anderson .Paak collab anytime soon, yet that’s exactly what fans are going to get on the penultimate track, “WalkOnBy.” Why Lawd? will also feature two appearances by Rae Khalil. Rae is an R&B artists who recently signed to Def Jam through .Paak’s Apesh*t label.

.Paak discussed his decision to revive NxWorries during a recent interview with The Root. He asserted that he wants to constantly challenge himself as an artist, and pushing himself to try new things with Knxwledge was an exciting prospect. “I don’t like to be comfortable,” the singer explained. “I like to push for different sounds and I feel like me and Knxwledge’s sound, NxWorries, is really needed right now.”

What are your thoughts on this tracklist for NxWorries’ Why Lawd? Do you think it will top their first album? Who will have the best appearance on the record? Will this be the best release for each member of the duo? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to tell us in the comments below. Today In Hip Hop History: Dr. Dre Released “Deep Cover” Single, Introduced Snoop Doggy Dogg 32 Years Ago

tumblr 9e19feda796afddd4b4bc5a90d9d8ec0 a0a476a1 1280

On this date in 1992, Dr. Dre took the first step in his successful solo journey and released this single 32 years ago today

On April 9th, 1992, the premiere single from the silver screen blockbuster Deep Cover was released and it featured the former producer from “the world’s most dangerous group” and a fresh 21-year-old Crip from Long Beach known then only as “Snoop”.

After the very public and messy break up of N.W.A., Dr. Dre and his behind the boards prowess were invited to create the musical score of the dirty cop flick starring Larry Fishburne. He brought along one of his little brother Warren G’s homies and the rest was history. The song became a hit and the track continues to be recognized as one of the best-crafted tracks in Hip Hop history. Fat Joe and the late Big Pun even created a classic remix of the joint that featured Dre and Snoop in the video entitled “Twinz”(Deep Cover ’98).

Salute to Dre and Snoop for this timeless gem and look forward to another one from them in another 29 years! Peace!

Snoop Dogg Announces Star-Studded “Cali To Canada” Tour In 2024

Snoop Dogg is a busy man. He’s been one of the hardest working figures in hip-hop history since he arrived on the scene, and he’s going to maintain his packed schedule with an upcoming tour in Canada. Snoop announced the tour on his Instagram, which will bear the catchy title of the “Cali to Canada Tour.” To really hammer the point home, the Doggfather is wearing a maple leaf hockey jersey on the poster. Snoop’s opening acts will be fellow west coast legends DJ Quik and Warren G.

The tour will span several Canadian cities, including Toronto, Calgary, Quebec City and Montreal. This is not the first time Snoop has toured the Sunshine Province, as he went on a joint tour with Wiz Khalifa in summer 2023. What makes the “Cali to Canada Tour” different, however, is the emphasis on cities in the rural Prairie province. There will be 11 dates in total, starting with Halifax on June 3 and ending with Vancouver on June 25.

It’s a great time to book tickets to a Snoop show. The rapper is experiencing a career renaissance between the 30th anniversary of his album Doggystyle and the anticipation for his upcoming album with Dr. Dre, Missionary. Snoop and Dre are selling Missionary as a spiritual sequel to Doggystyle, as evidenced by its personnel and suggestive album title. Snoop talked about the recording process for Missionary during an appearance on All the Smoke with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson. He praised Dre for challenging him as a rapper, and bringing out the “grown” side of his songwriting.

Tickets for the “Cali to Canada Tour” go on sale at 10 am on Friday, April 5th. The presale for the tickets kicks off on Thursday, April 4th, with additional pre-sale options throughout the week. Snoop also gave fans a code (“CALI2CANADA”) that will expedite the ticket buying process on sites like Ticketmaster. If you don’t get to see Snoop in Canada, the rapper will also be performing at the Lovers & Friends festival. The festival will be held in Las Vegas on May 4, and tickets are currently available.

DJ Premier And Snoop Dogg’s Song ‘Can U Dig That’ Is A Calm, Cool, And Collected Tribute To California’s Impact In Rap

Several months remain for Hip-Hop 50, the culture’s half-century anniversary. Although the event programming might’ve slowed, the musical tributes continue to roll in. For the icon DJ Premier, that means a reunion strictly for the veteran hip-hop heads.

On his latest song, “Can U Dig That,” on his independent label (To The Top), the heavyweight tapped none other than Snoop Dogg. For the callback of their previously vaulted demo, the pair used the updated mellowed production to show off their California love.

No record would be complete without Premier’s signature scratching technique. Still, it is the sample usage of Average White Band’s 1976 song “Overture” that truly fosters the calm, cool, and collected groove. It has been over two decades since the duo’s last collaboration, but you couldn’t tell by their creative chemistry.

“Taught y’all the recipe / That West Coast mentality / Tupac and Ice Cube / Short Dog and 40 water (Yeah)
Ice-T and Eazy-E / Quik put you on a B, I put you on a C / DPG, away with gunplay and let the beef cease / Peace to the gods /And all the G’s on the yard / Born raised to squab / Hustle hard and ball, it pays to be hard,” raps Snoop.

DJ Premier & Snoop Dogg Deliver A West Coast Kick Back On “Can U Dig That?”

DJ Premier and Snoop Dogg really do not need introductions at this point in their respective careers. Both have defined the West Coast and Southern hip-hop sounds for decades, delivering classics on classics. Even better, these two are still consistently pumping out new material as well. The last time we spoke about new Snoop was for the 30th anniversary of his legendary debut Doggystyle. He has also been active with the singles and features, with his assist on Benny The Butcher’s Everybody Can’t Go a standout.

For Mr. Premier he has put out some records with “Work This Out” being his most recent. That is, until DJ Premier and Snoop Dogg linked for “Can U Dig That?” This is not the first time these two greats have hit the booth together though. Funny enough, their most recent collaboration was actually on a Russ track “Free” which landed on CHOMP 2.”

Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, And 50 Cent Collaborate… To Mock Jimmy Kimmel’s Genitals In A Comedy Sketch

Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and 50 Cent are four of the best to ever do it when it comes to hip-hop. Now, the four have come together on one project… that project being a Jimmy Kimmel Live! sketch.

The skit — which aired last night, March 19) is about a fictional TV show called Dre’s Anatomy, and anatomy is the issue here. The video starts with Kimmel being rushed into a hospital room, where Dr. Dre (playing an actual medical doctor, of course) lifts the blanket covering the host’s waist and is shocked by what he finds (or rather, doesn’t find).

Dre says, “What the f*ck is this? This man has no penis.”

Kimmel is confused by that, but Dre calls on “Dr. Broadus” (Snoop) for a second opinion. Even with help from a magnifying glass, Snoop has trouble locating the penis. 50 Cent then comes in with a telescope, focused squarely on Kimmel’s crotch, and still nothing. They eventually put Kimmel under anesthesia (which sure looks like weed smoke) before the beeping machines start producing the beat to “Still D.R.E.,” which gets a party started.

After the Dre’s Anatomy promo ends, it segues into a quick teaser for another fictional medical show, EM. Eminem makes a cameo, holding a syringe and deadpanning to the camera, “You only get one shot.” 50 enters and interjects, “One shot? I got shot nine times.” Eminem replies, “That’s a weird flex, but… OK.”

Check out the skit above. The group (minus Eminem) also sat down for a lengthy interview with Kimmel, so check that out below.

Dr. Dre Criticizes Snoop Dogg Over His Many Side Projects, He Reveals

Dr. Dre’s recent appearance on James Corden’s This Life of Mine… show on SiriusXM held a lot of curious and compelling bits of info, takes, and confessions. For one, it reignited the ever-enduring and always annoying debate of whether Eminem can be considered the best rapper of all time. TL;DR: yes, and if you disagree, that’s equally valid. Move on. Anyways, the N.W.A. producer also revealed a very interesting and quite surprising aspect of his relationship with one of his closes industry peers: Snoop Dogg. The two go way back, yet when it comes to the Long Beach MC’s many business ventures, the mogul Dre steps in to question him.

“I personally think he does too much s**t and we’ve been battling and bumping heads about [it],” Dr. Dre explained to Corden. “Hell yeah I tell him that. I’m always in my big brother mode. I always tell him like, ‘Why the f**k are you doing this and that? Come on.’ He’s like, ‘Let me live, Dr. Dre, cuz. Let me do my thing, man. Do I bother you about the s**t you doing, cuz?’ So we have our -– I call it sibling rivalries and s**t like that -– but I would love it if he’d just focus on this thing and make sure this thing right here that we’re working on is the best that it can be.

Elsewhere in the interview, Dr. Dre also spoke on having a brain aneurysm back in 2021. “It definitely makes you appreciate being alive, that’s for sure,” he recalled. “It’s something you can’t control, it just happens. During those two weeks, I had three strokes. I got up and went about my day, and I thought I could lay down and take a nap. My son and a female friend were like, ‘No, we need to take you to the hospital.’ Next thing you know, I’m blacking out, I’m in and out of consciousness and I end up in the ICU.

“I was there for two weeks,” the Aftermath boss went on. “I’m hearing doctors come in [and saying] ‘You don’t know how lucky you are.’ I asked questions about what I could’ve done to prevent this. No one could give me an answer.” Fortunately, Dr. Dre overcame this moment of his life, and now he and Snoop Dogg can go on to do more great things. Snoop Dogg Laughs Off Suge Knight’s “Secret Society” Claims About Him & Diddy

Once you make it to a certain level of fame, it won’t be long until a certain devil tempts you… with a chance to come up with Illuminati rumors about another famous person, that is. Moreover, conspiracy theories around secret societies and things of that nature have always been common in celebrity circles, whether it’s among themselves or from the outside looking in. When these pair up with legitimate accusations of wrongdoing (in this case, sexual assault), it makes for a pretty obfuscatory and confusing narrative. That’s what Suge Knight claimed on his Collect Call podcast during its latest episode, specifically accusing Snoop Dogg, Diddy, and Dr. Dre of being in a secret society.

“Once they start painting they fingernails and wearing women’s clothes, they got you,” Suge Knight said of Snoop Dogg and company. “I remember when they was giving Puffy an award at the ASCAP Awards. [Dre] went up there and got him an expensive watch and gave it to him in front of everybody. He basically confessed his love to this man. Then Puffy and Snoop became besties. Every time you see one, you seen the other one. Next thing you know, they start painting they fingernails. Didn’t make sense.

“[The] Game bought Puffy a Lamborghini when Puffy got more money than Game,” Suge continued. “Why you buying this man a Lamborghini? You know your homies don’t even got a Lamborghini. But once again, it’s that secret society. For this thing to work and fix it, they gotta start all the way over in these major record labels and these big buildings. They need to get rid of all the guys who was connected to the poison and the snake.” After these remarks went viral, Snoop Dogg had a pretty unbothered answer.

Snoop Dogg’s Response

Snoop Dogg Suge Knight Secret Society Diddy Claims Response Hip Hop News

Commenting under AllHipHop‘s IG coverage of this, Tha Doggfather simply included a crying-laughing emoji and a shrug emoji. This is definitely not his first run-in with the former Death Row boss, and likely won’t be the last. But it seems like Snoop Dogg would rather save his energy for one of his more legitimate issues with Suge. On that note, come back to HNHH for more news and the latest updates on these artists.
