50 Cent’s Spirits Lawsuit Leads To Suicide Threat From Alleged Scammer

Michael Caruso, one of several people 50 Cent is suing in an alleged embezzlement scheme regarding Beam Suntory, reportedly threatened to commit suicide rather than deal with the legal fallout from the case. According to AllHipHop, the problems began when one of the other defendants, Julious Grant, allegedly tried to extort Caruso. “Money [Michael Caruso’s nickname]…you and your partner have been getting fat at my expense…This is how I want this to work you guys by months end will pay me 600k. I’ll consider this a walk away severance… If you chose not to do so I will… let Fif know the reason he was paying such high margarine [sic]…You and your partner do t [sic] want that kind of smoke from Fif,” Grant reportedly wrote to Caruso in a text message.

Another defendant, Mitchell Green, then decided to admit to wrongdoing and phoned up Caruso and others to reveal the plan. In turn, Caruso allegedly began crying and threatened to commit suicide if Green went through with it.

50 Cent Facing $4 Million Lawsuit From Ex-Consultant He Labeled A “Snitch”

50 Cent is facing a $4 million lawsuit from consultant Michael Caruso who claims the Sire Spirits mogul cut him out of a deal with the company without getting proper compensation. Caruso says he played a critical role in launching Sire Spirits’ premium liquor brand back in 2015, but 50 never fulfilled a promise of offering him an ownership stake. 50 previously accused him of snitching on New York City nightclub kingpin Peter Gatien back in the 1990s in a post on Instagram caught by AllHipHop.

In the lawsuit, Caruso’s attorney, Paul J. Fishman, says his client “dedicated his time, expertise, and resources to ensure the success of Sire Spirits.” He further accuses 50 of wrongfully recording a phone conversation between Caruso and another individual without consent. “This illegal recording was a clear violation of privacy and an attempt to gain an unfair advantage in legal proceedings. Mr. Caruso’s rights were maliciously disregarded, and he suffered damages as a result,” he argued.

50 Cent’s Sire Spirit Sues Beam Suntory For Embezzlement: Breaking Down The Allegations

50 Cent has built his reputation on a prolific rap career, a television empire, and multiple business ventures, all contributing to the significant increase in his net worth in recent years. But, as corporate executives at the beverage company Beam Suntory are about to find out, 50’s true passion lies in bullying his opps on social media. According to 50 Cent, the liquor supplier has embezzled him out of millions of dollars and even tried to muscle his alcohol brand, Sire Spirits, out of business. The rap icon, whose government name is Curtis Jackson, has posted several social media posts updating the public about the alleged embezzlement scheme, revealing that he’s been battling with Beam Suntory privately for over a year. Here’s everything we know about 50 Cent’s Sire Spirits situation, and Beam Suntory lawsuit.

What Is Sire Spirits?

Sire Spirits, a liquor brand owned by 50 Cent, who also serves as the CEO, initially launched in 2017. The brand’s name comes from 50 Cent’s second son, Sire Jackson. The brand has collaborated with several prolific partners, including NBA teams such as the Orlando Magic and the Minnesota Timberwolves, and NFL teams like the New Orleans Saints. At the end of every 50 Cent Instagram caption, you’ll find tags for Sire, the producer of acclaimed liquors such as Le Chemin du Roi Champagne and Branson Cognac. The liquor brand sources its ingredients through the multi-billion dollar alcohol company Beam Suntory, which is the third largest producer of distilled beverages across the world. Suntory is the owner of subsidiaries such as Makers Mark, Jim Beam, Hornitos Tequila, and more.

The Embezzlement Allegations

50 Cent first filed a complaint in February 2023 on behalf of Sire Spirits, which alleges that Beam Suntory was embezzling millions from his brand, and accepting kickbacks. According to the motion filed with the New York State Supreme Court, the Japanese beverage vendor overcharged Sire Spirits for liquor supplied, amounting to over $6 million.

Attorney Craig Weiner, representing Sire Spirits, has released a statement explaining the claims. Weiner explained, “Because these illicit commissions were baked into the price of the product, Sire Spirits overpaid on taxes, overpaid on customs and duties, overpaid on insurance, which are marked towards the value of the product. Beam Suntory’s role here is extraordinarily troubling. Beam Suntory’s Chief Commercial Officer, a gentleman by the name of Julious Grant, acting as an employee, as an officer of the company, acting under the actual and parent authority of Beam Suntory facilitated the entire fraud as we plead in our complaint.”

Former Sire Spirits director of Brand Management Mitchell Green reportedly pleaded guilty in a wire fraud case back in September 2023. During the trial, Green admitted that he pocketed $2.2 million in kickbacks, disguised as “agency fees” and shared the profits with two French distilleries. Green also pocketed nearly $1 million from another liquor wholesaler, and is now cooperating with the federal government in the ongoing trial.

Beam Suntory Denies These Claims

In a statement to the press, Beam Suntory reps denied the allegations launched by 50 Cent and Sire Spirits, stating, “Beam Suntory vehemently denies all allegations of wrongdoing. It had no involvement in or knowledge of the fraudulent activity alleged in the complaint, and any allegation to the contrary has no basis in fact.” Still, depositions have begun to investigate the case, with former club king “Lord Michael” Caruso poised to be deposed under oath first. Caruso previously served as a government informant in a drug trial surrounding the NY night club scene and was allegedly paid half a million dollars per year by Beam Suntory for his part in the kickback scheme.

50 Cent personally believes that the Japanese conglomerate was trying to intentionally run Sire Spirits out of business to cover up their alleged embezzlement crimes. The rapper has stated, “This is the type of stuff that happens, and slows down new companies when they’re coming in because I guess it prevents them from growing fast enough. It’s only going to get worse than it is now, when people start paying attention to it, and I’m going to end up making a whole TV show based on it.”

New information is sure to emerge regarding the case in the coming weeks, as 50 Cent continues to take to Instagram to terrorize those who threaten his business interests. Meanwhile, Mitchell Green faces sentencing in April, with the potential for up to 20 years in prison and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.

50 Cent Wants To Make A TV Show About His Beam Suntory Embezzlement Lawsuit

50 Cent says he’s going to make a TV show about his lawsuit against Beam Suntory, the supplier that he accused of an embezzlement scheme that allegedly cost him and Sire Sprits millions of dollars. He discussed his lawsuit and his plans to make a series about it during an interview with FOX 5 NY’s Lisa Evers on Monday.

“Now they’re at a point where they’re going to see, everybody’s going to see. This noise affects them, they get really uncomfortable,” 50 told the outlet. “People are going to start looking at it, and it’s going to be a mess for them.” He added: “It’s only going to get worse than it is now, when people start paying attention to it. 50 Cent Embezzlement Accusations: Rapper Wants Beam Suntory To Pay Up ASAP

50 Cent hasn’t taken his foot off of Diddy’s neck, but the “Candy Shop” hitmaker is putting more of his attention toward another of his enemies at this time. As AllHipHop reports, he’s feeling particularly scorned by multi-billion-dollar spirits company Beam Suntory, whom Fif has accused of embezzling him out of millions by nearly putting an end to his own alcoholic endeavour, Sire Spirits. On Monday (March 11), the multi-talent sent out a warning via Instagram making it clear that he’s coming for money from Beam, and he wants it ASAP.

“Here is a clearer version of the news, @beamsuntory @jimbeamofficial. I’m not the guy you want to get started,” Curtis Jackson captioned a clip from Fox5. “In the nicest way, I’m gonna need my money by Monday,” he added. “These big companies think they can get away with anything. It has cost me millions in legal fees. They are gonna find out I’m not the one you want to play with.”

Jackson’s complaint was filed with the New York State Supreme Court. In his documents, the father of two says Beam is complicit in a kickback scheme, overcharging (an estimated $6 million plus) Sire Spirits for the liquor they supplied before splitting the difference with the defendants. According to Fif’s attorney, Chief Commercial Officer Julious Grant “facilitated the entire fraud.” Previously, Sire’s former director of Brand Management, Mitchell Green, pled guilty to wire fraud for his role in the alleged scheme. After embezzling over $2 million from employers, he paid more than $6 million in damages.

As he navigates his legal woes with Beam Suntory, 50 Cent at least has some good news to celebrate. The continued success of his BMF series has the New Yorker teasing more spinoff shows which fans are eager to see take shape – after all, Fif has been reaching out to plenty of scorned Hollywood stars to make sure they’re paid what they deserve by working with him. Saints Latest Sports Venture For Fif

However, the Saints are just the latest sports team to partner with Sire Spirits. The brand already has an agreement with the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights, as well as several NBA teams. Furthermore, Fif has a special place in the hearts of Vegas fans. The rapper was chosen to sound the T-Mobile Arena siren ahead of Game 5 of the Stanley Cup earlier this year.

The siren appeared to work its magic as the Golden Knights decimated the Panthers 9-3. After two periods, the Golden Knights led 6-1. The game became tied for the third-highest margin of victory in a Stanley Cup Finals game. There have been six other instances of a 6-goal margin in the Stanley Cup Finals. Many hailed 50 as the team’s good luck charm, attributing his siren ring as helping cause the rout. The win sealed the Cup for Vegas, marking the franchise’s first title. Furthermore, it was the second major championship for the city of Las Vegas, following on from the Las Vegas Aces’ WNBA title in 2022. The Aces repeated as WNBA champions earlier this month.

50 Cent Demands $7M From Employee Caught Embezzling

Mitchell Green embezzled $7 million from Sire Spirits, the liquor brand owned by iconic rapper 50 Cent. Green served as the primary liaison between the company and their French supplier. In this role, Green artificially inflated the amounts that Sire was paying out. Furthermore, he would send deduct the excess money as an “agent’s fee” and hide it in the purchase. Meanwhile, he would split the profit amongst him and the others in on the plan.

After confessing to his actions, Sire pursued legal action against Green. In an attempt to mitigate the legal issues, he filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. If the ruling went through, it would discharge the monetary damages from Sire from the case.

However, 50 Cent is eager to get every last cent reimbursed. Now, Sire is challenging the bankruptcy ruling in an effort to hold Green accountable. Their hope is to keep Green on the hook for $7 million.

Sire Seek Dismissal Of Bankruptcy Gambit

According to Sire’s legal representation, there is no legal precedent for dismissing Green’s debt due to a bankruptcy filing. According to the law, a debt “for money, property, services, or an extension, renewal, or refinancing of credit, to the extent obtained by false pretenses, a false representation, or actual fraud” cannot be discharged.

This means, that because the debt Green is challenging was acquired illegally, it is in fact not a debt protected by bankruptcy. This provision within US bankruptcy law is designed for exactly this scenario. It protects victims when an individual files for bankruptcy to avoid repatriation.

Additionally, the law goes on to state that money obtained by “fraud or defalcation while acting in a fiduciary capacity, embezzlement, or larceny” cannot be discharged either. The proceedings against Green are ongoing and this remains a developing story.

50 Cent And Rémy Martin Reached A Settlement In Their Bottle Design Dispute

50 Cent‘s Sire Spirits brand and E. Rémy Martin & Co. have reached a settlement in Rémy Martin’s lawsuit over a copied bottled design. According to Billboard, the two companies reached a “confidential” settlement agreement on June 1 to drop the suit; details about payments or rebranding requirements have not been made public.

E. Rémy Martin & Co. sued Sire Spirits in 2021, claiming that the bottle design for the Sire cognac brand Branson had illegally imitated Rémy’s XO bottle, infringing on patent and trade dress rights. Sire’s response was to call the case “meritless” and accuse the legacy brand of trying to “destroy a competitor.” The Branson bottle was accused of being a deliberate effort to confuse consumers with its similar design.

However, US District Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein denied Sire’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit, saying, “This is not a case in which the claimed and accused designs are so plainly dissimilar that it is implausible that an ordinary observer would confuse them.”

A Rémy spokesperson told Billboard, “Rémy appreciates and respects Mr. Jackson’s entry into the Cognac market and the parties share a common vision for the future of this exceptional and precious spirit. The parties are gratified that this matter could be resolved amicably.”

Although a settlement might not be the outcome 50 Cent hoped for, he’s already been on a bit of a winning streak in court and probably didn’t want to push his luck — or pay out more legal fees. In February, he reached a settlement in his defamation lawsuit against The Shade Room, while in March, he won a lawsuit against a former employee who allegedly embezzled millions from Sire Spirits.
