Shannon Sharpe Reaches Buyout with Fox Sports, Set to Leave ‘Undisputed’

Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless Argue Over Damar Hamlin Tweet During Opening of 'Undisputed'

Shannon Sharpe’s days at FS1 are numbered. The Post reports Sharpe will split from Skip Bayless after reaching a buyout agreement with Fox Sports.

Shannon Sharpe is expected to appear on Undisputed through the conclusion of the NBA Finals. Sharpe will take his popular Club Shay Shay podcast with him after departing from Fox Sports.

Sharpe was long believed to work his way out of FS1, especially after he and Bayless clashed on air over Damar Hamlin’s injury.

Following a controversial tweet from Bayless about Hamlin’s injury, Sharpe did not show up to Undisputed. A day after his absence, Shannon Sharpe returned to the Undisputed desk, and the fireworks immediately went off between him and Bayless.

In a monologue, Sharpe explained his absence and stated he didn’t agree with Skip’s tweet. “Skip tweeted something and although I disagree with the tweet, and hopefully, Skip will take it down…”

Skip would interject and state, “Time out — I’m not going to take it down because I stand by what I tweeted.”

The two would go back and forth briefly before Shannon deflected to the show’s moderator to continue forward with the show.

You can see the moment below.

Shannon skipped the Tuesday broadcast, according to TMZ, because he was “upset” with Skip Bayless’s offensive Damar Hamlin tweet, in which he questioned why the NFL would postpone a crucial game so late in the season. The outlet added that the network is uncertain as to whether Sharpe will report for duty on Wednesday.

In the episode that aired the following Tuesday, Bayless took the opportunity to retract his remarks and explain his intentions.

“I apologize for what we’re going to set out to do here today, if it offends anyone, because we’re gonna try to do the show pretty much as we usually do the show. I’ll admit up front, I’m still shook up by what happened last night to Damar Hamlin,” Bayless said. “In fact, I’m still wrecked. In fact, I’m not sure I’m capable of doing this show today. After barely sleeping on it last night, I decided to give it a try.”

He added, “We wrestled through much of the night whether to even do a show today because it felt like in our mind, we almost can’t win with this. Because the last thing we want to try to do is come off as insensitive to what this young man is going through in a life-or-death situation. … As this show goes on, we’re going to try and talk about a little bit of sports, but we’re going to continue to talk about what happened to this young man last night and try to sort back through it with help from you and the audience.”

The Post also notes Sharpe’s relationship with LeBron James, who Bayless relentlessly goes after, contributed to the departure. There is currently not a plan for replacing Sharpe on the show.

Fans in the comments section of Sharpe’s post weren’t flattered by Ne-Yo’s response. “Mane 45 years talking about I’m toxic. Grow up and get a new hat,” one fan wrote. Another commented, “Translation she has way to much money and she doesn’t need me so I can’t manipulate and control her with the very thing she has.”

Ne-Yo and his ex-wife Crystal Renay finalized their divorce in February. Afterward, he told TMZ that he was open to the idea of dating fans of his music. “Somebody on my level kind of understands that plight of what I go through just as a celebrity,” he said at the time. “But at the same time, we’re weirdos. Us celebrities, we’re weirdos. So I like normal people. I’m okay with going for just regular people.”

Ne-Yo On Taylor Swift

As for Taylor Swift, she is currently dating the Matt Healy of The 1975 fame. While neither has spoken at length about the relationship in public, Swift alluded to the relationship being in a great place during a recent stop on her Eras tour. “It’s insane. I kind of just feel like telling you, that I don’t know, that just…I’ve never been this happy in my life in all aspects of my life ever before,” she told the audience. “And I just want to thank you for being a part of that. It’s not just the tour, like, I don’t know, my life finally feels like it makes sense.”

Shannon Sharpe Reveals House Burglary

Shannon Sharpe has been in the news lately as he beefed with former first-overall NBA pick Kwame Brown. The beef came about after Brown blasted LeBron’s playoff performance. “I have never seen a guy of your caliber, supposed caliber, you don’t even get a shot off?” Brown said at one point in his seven-minute rant. “You’re probably the best scorer in the game, you got all these points. But you were looking for a bailout, again.” At another point in the video, Brown argues that “Throughout history, the little nerds are gonna look up your statline and say ‘He’s gotta be the greatest player to ever play the game’. And people who actually play are gonna know that is bullshit.”

Sharpe, a well-known fan of LeBron, shot back on UNDISPUTED, “Of all the people, [Brown] should never ever question anyone’s greatness,” Sharpe said on Undefeated. “You on the Mount Rushmore of all busts….you a joke real talk.” Brown shot back, telling Sharpe that he was a “guest in the house of basketball.” However, TMZ has revealed that Sharpe has been dealing with something else in the past few days.

According to TMZ, Sharpe’s house in LA was robbed last week, with over $1 million’s worth of bags, jewelry, and watches. Sharpe is known for his sharp looks and luxury tastes. Law enforcement told TMZ that the robbery happened on May 19 sometime between 7pm and 9:30pm. Sharpe was away from the house at the time. However, Sharpe didn’t call the police until he returned from dinner and noticed something amiss.

In an intriguing twist, the police have launched a deeper investigation as they found no evidence of forced entry. While no arrests have been made, Sharpe has fronted a $50,000 reward for any information that could help the case. Furthermore, law enforcement has declined to share anything more about the leads they are currently pursuing. Timbaland Thinks We Shouldn’t ‘Mix Music Up With Personal’ For ‘The King Of R&B’ R. Kelly, Which Is Certainly A Take

R. Kelly made some of the most well-received music of his era, including songs like “Ignition (Remix),” “I Believe I Can Fly,” and “Bump n’ Grind.” More importantly, though, earlier this year, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison for child pornography. That followed 2022’s 30-year sentence for sex trafficking and racketeering.

The way Timbaland sees it, those two sides of Kelly can be separated, to the point that he still considers the controversial singer the “king of R&B.”

During a recent episode of Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, Sharpe spoke about how he believes “you can separate art from an artist” before specifically mentioning Kelly. After he said he doesn’t believe you can “throw everything he’s done artistically away,” Timbaland said, “No you cannot.” Sharpe continued, “I believe you can separate the two,” and Timbaland chimed in, “Yes you can. I agree. I agree.”

Timbaland then elaborated:

“R. Kelly’s the king of R&B. We all know that, man. And it’s funny, I’m glad you talk about that, because I be having talks… everybody jump when you say ‘R. Kelly.’ I’m like, ‘So we just gonna ignore his music that he gave us, that we all jam to?’ No, we can’t do that. His art is his art. I’m not going to bash the man’s art. […] To me, we have to learn how to… I think, as a culture, we have to learn how to separate that.

And if I say, ‘OK, who can battle R. Kelly,’ I don’t want to see in the comments, ‘How you gonna have this…’ Don’t mix music up with personal. Music is a feeling, it stands alone. Music is something that don’t have no race. It brings people together. It don’t have no drama with it. It is a place of enjoyment, a feeling, so don’t bring drama into music. Leave that outside. His art is his art.”

Shannon Sharpe And Kwame Brown Beef Over LeBron Comments

Earlier today, retired NBA player Kwame Brown had some choice words about LeBron James. Brown, the first overall pick in 2001 who never quite lived up to the hype of that draft position, was angry at LeBron following the Lakers’ exit from the playoffs.

“Of all the people, [Brown] should never ever question anyone’s greatness,” Sharpe said on Undefeated. “You on the Mount Rushmore of all busts….you a joke real talk.” Drafted first overall by the Wizards in 2001, Brown averaged 6.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 0.9 assists over a 12-year career. Other players drafted after Brown in the 2001 draft include Tyson Chandler, Pau Gasol, and Tony Parker. By comparison, LeBron averaged 27.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 6.9 assists over the first 12 years of his career.

Brown has since responded to the Hall of Fame tight end’s comments. “How you gonna invalidate a number draft pick, boy?” Brown said early in his lengthy response to Sharpe. “How about you put some bass in your voice when you talk?…You on a panel with a white boy who blames his coach for not making it to college.” Brown proceeds to mock the way Sharpe talks while reiterating that Sharpe is a “guest in the house of basketball”. Brown, who received 0 votes for Rookie of the Year and never made an All-Star Game or All-NBA appearance, did not appreciate Sharpe’s take. However, what do you think? Is Kwame clowning or does Sharpe need to stay in his lane? Let us know in the comments.

Shannon Sharpe Reveals His Thoughts On LeBron’s Lakers Legacy

Shannon Sharpe is a huge LeBron James fan, and that is very well known at this point. Overall, he is someone who always goes to bat for LeBron on Undisputed. Moreover, he has been a fixture at Lakers games this season. Of course, he infamously got into an altercation with the Memphis Grizzlies. This included Ja Morant, Dillon Brooks, Steven Adams, and even Tee Morant. However, Shannon eventually apologized and the whole thing was put to rest. Either way, it is clear that Sharpe loves his Lakers.

Subsequently, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are now in the Western Conference Finals. They are set to play the Denver Nuggets, and you know Shannon Sharpe will be watching. Furthermore, he will be debating the series alongside none other than Skip Bayless. Bayless loves to underplay whatever LeBron is accomplishing. However, Shannon is always there to remind him of who continues to be a shining example of success in the league. Today, they discussed what a title might mean for LeBron’s standing with the Lakers.

Shannon Sharpe Makes His Prediction

Of course, LeBron James is the best player to ever wear a Lakers uniform. Although, that does not mean he is the greatest Laker ever. That is a designation reserved for players like Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Kareem, and even Shaq. That said, Shannon Sharpe believes LeBron can become a top-five Laker in the franchise’s history. In order to make this happen, he will need to win the title this year. Additionally, he will need to get a Finals MVP. This is a tall order, especially since Anthony Davis appears to be the number one option right now.

Before LeBron can even win an NBA title, he has to get through Nikola Jokic first. The Nuggets big man has been on another level this season. Moreover, the Lakers would have a tough opponent in the NBA Finals. It could very well be a quick series, and not in the King’s favor. Either way, fans will be watching, and Shannon Sharpe will be around to defend the legacy. Let us know who you think will win the series, in the comments below.

Timbaland Thanks Jay-Z & Drake For Their Help Through His “Darkest Moment”

Addiction can be one of the most destructive and difficult obstacles in one’s life, whether physically or mentally. However, when you have people who really care for you by your side, they can help you conquer any demons you may face. While speaking to Shannon Sharpe on his Club Shay Shay podcast on Monday (May 15), Timbaland recalled how Jay-Z and Drake helped him through a very tough time in his life. Not only that, but the legendary producer remarked quite candidly on how their impact was more meaningful than they could ever know.

“JAY-Z is a prophet,” Timbaland expressed. “God sent him. I ain’t never seen nobody like him. Hov actually raised me, and he don’t even know it. He raised me in the music business. He was so prolific, so wise beyond his age, that I was just amazed at just watching him. That’s why I had a different bond with Jay when it comes to my music. We was rewriting the Bible, in a way.” In addition to Hov, he also took the time to thank the Canadian superstar for his guidance.

“Even Drake told me,” Timbaland continued. “That’s why I’m like, these guys are special to the world. Now, once they give you the information, it’s up to you to use it. I didn’t come out until the darkness, man, and that’s why I say, it’s all love with these guys. They helped me during my darkest moment.” Of course, testimonies like this are incredibly hard to hear, let alone stand by as a person who saw the light of recovery. Still, the 51-year-old is appreciative of the fact that others were able to see what his struggles blinded him to.

Meanwhile, Rick Ross was another rap legend who recently gave Drake and Jay-Z their flowers, albeit for very different and less serious reasons. Moreover, Rozay named them as two of the few rappers who hear a beat with him, write and record something on the spot, and stand by its quality. Whether in the booth or outside, clearly the two rap leaders earn the praise they receive. As for Timbaland, his illustrious career will likely continue to prevail against any and all struggles. Regardless, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on the Virginia beatmaker.
