Rihanna is her. The music icon, billionaire mogul, and fashion superstar has officially become the woman with the most diamond-certified singles in history.
According to Billboard, Rihanna was honored with four more diamond plaques, bringing her total to seven. The latest singles to go platinum are “Umbrella” with JAY-Z, “Work” with Drake, “Needed Me” and “Stay.”
The previous entries in the Diamond Club were “Diamonds,” “Love the Way You Lie” with Eminem, and “We Found Love” with Calvin Harris.
Rihanna may often be busy with family time, but she also proved on Friday (May 31) that she can make plenty of due time for her friends, as well. Moreover, she hit up Pergola in New York City for a girl’s night out, and donned some expectedly gorgeous drip for the occasion (click on the “Via” link down below to see pictures, as we can’t post them directly on HNHH). The Barbadian singer wore a black minidress with a zebra-print jacket, lots of diamond jewelry, blonde braids, and even a diamond flower clip for her hair. It’s never a surprise when she stuns with her fashion choices and sense of style, but it’s always a treat for fans who seek to up their fit game.
Furthermore, all this diamond embellishment makes a whole lot of sense right now, as Rihanna recently became the female artist with the most Diamond-certified singles in the RIAA’s history. She celebrated the occasion with a congratulatory post from Roc Nation as “Work,” “Umbrella,” “Stay,” and “Needed Me” all passed the threshold this week. It’s an amazing achievement and one that really speaks to these hits’ staying power, relevance, and resonance. RiRi’s other Diamond hits obviously include “Diamonds,” as well as “We Found Love” and “Love The Way You Lie.”

However, all these accolades do have fans pondering on a long-asked, desperate, and highly anticipated question: when will Rihanna’s next Diamond hit come out? Fans have been asking for the long-awaited ninth solo studio album for over eight years now, and while there have been a lot of teases and promises, they are still empty-handed. Regardless of the wait, more recent hints indicate that it might land sooner than we think. But at this point, it’s all just a guessing game.
Meanwhile, Rihanna is just as prone to pushing her own sense of fashion and style as she is to developing her status as an entrepreneur and businesswoman in that field. For example, she continues to seek new models for Savage x Fenty and did a lot of press as of late to push her brands forward. Yesterday (May 31), the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) revealed that three of Rihanna’s beloved tracks earned diamond certification. With the numbers officially tallied, Rihanna added two shiny new accolades to her resume, including most diamond singles for a woman artist (6) and most diamond certified titles for a woman artist (7).
Rihanna took to her official X (formerly Twitter) page to celebrate the achievement.
“Ain’t no back n forth,” she wrote, reposting a custom graphic designed by management Roc Nation.
So, which of Rihanna’s bangers are classified as diamond? If you are a superfan (The Navy), the success of these records shouldn’t serve as a surprise. As of May 31, Rihanna’s 2007 song “Umbrella,” which featured Jay-Z, 2012’s “Stay,” as well as 2016’s “Needed Me” and “Work,” which featured Drake all entered RIAA’s diamond club.
In April, the 2011 crossover smash “We Found Love,” which featured Calvin Harris and “Diamonds” were classified as diamond tracks. Over a decade ago (May 2013), Rihanna snagged a diamond record as the featured guest on Eminem’s “Love The Way You Lie.”

Maybe hope is just naiveté at this point, but it’s the only thing keeping us going.
Furthermore, there have been recent teases that the project will come out soon, but with no real confirmation or hard evidence, we can only wait and be patient. However, this new RIAA record does speak to just how much longevity and staying power Rihanna was able to infuse into these particular hits. It’s not an uncommon trait in the catalog, but for these massive songs in particular, it feels like they went Diamond in our hearts long ago. We’ll see what the record looks like by the time she’s officially bowed out, and how it continues to evolve as her career etches itself into the history books.

The singer was asked what it would take for the Roc-A-Fella icon to fall from grace, and she responded with a name. “I don’t know [what it will take], but I got an idea that Evan Rogers is gonna help me figure that out,” she noted. “Evan was the producer who only seemed to work on teeny-bopper projects.” She then claimed that he played a role in Jay-Z’s discovery and subsequent mentorship of Rihanna in the 00s. “[Evan] discovered Rihanna at 3 am in a hotel room,” Wright alleged. “On the island where she comes from, with no parental supervision.”
The accusations don’t stop there. Wright claims that Rihanna was then put on a private plane as a minor. “From one country to another,” she elaborated. “And she ended up in a boardroom with Mr. Carter.” The singer told the hosts they should consider taking a look at the lyrics of Rihanna’s 2016 album Anti. “That album cover was disturbing,” she posited. “A child bride, with a crown on her head and blood smeared over her face… I don’t know, how come people don’t see SOS’s.”
Jay-Z and Rihanna’s personal history has been subject of lots of speculation. Especially given that the former is 19 years younger than the former Def Jam President. The Harlem rapper stepped up and serenaded the mother of his children with a classic rap single from Cam’ron and Juelz Santana.
