Quavo Drops “Birkin Bagz” Cannabis Strain And Streetwear

With the demand for the coveted Birkin bag among women being almost a prerequisite for relationships, Quavo of the Migos, who may know a thing or two about relationships himself, decided that it was time for the guys to smoke the Birkin instead of giving it away to women.

The Huncho has created his own unique marijuana strain called Birkin because the guys have spent too much money tickling the women’s handbag fancy. “We got tired of buying the girls Birkins, so we started smoking it, that’s all.” says Quavo.

Just as Hermès’ Birkin bags can range from $40K to as high as almost $300K, Quavo’s weed is going to be a high-end strain of bud, meaning a super high cost exactly like the Hip Hop name-dropped handbag. When asked if Birkin Bagz would be affordable for regular smokers and he vehemently replied, “No, sir. No broke smoke. This will be the highest weed you ever smoked.”

To add even more flavor to the release of the “most expensivest” weed strain, Quavo teamed up with established streetwear brand Awful Lot of Cough Syrup and dropped a “Birkin Bagz” clothing collab to accompany the new 420.

The “Flip The Switch” rapper played quarterback in high school and has found a way to give back to the youth in Atlanta. This year, Quavo upped the ante and donated $150,000 to the Tender Foundation in support of single moms.

Jaycina Almond, Founder of Tender Foundation said, “At Tender, we’re bridging the financial gap and providing a safety net for single moms living on the margins here in Atlanta. Our core programming consists of emergency bill pay assistance with rent, utilities, and childcare; providing Grocery store gift cards and operating a diaper bank. Now, with Quavo’s help, we’re able to pilot a new initiative called The Bridge.”

The Bridge is a guaranteed income program founded on the premise that every mother deserves the opportunity to parent without the stress of survival. The Bridge is a step toward establishing equity and disrupting generational poverty for Black women and their families.

Quavo Will Star As This Familiar Character In New Action Film

Quavo

Quavo from the Migos will be starring in an upcoming action film set in Atlanta’s street takeover car culture.  The rapper, who’s had other small acting stints in the past, expressed his excitement in taking the lead in the new car culture film, “Take Over.” Rapper Quavo is set to star in a film set […]

Quavo Lands A Role In The Upcoming Action Thriller ‘Takeover’ From Quality Control’s Film Division

Quavo has landed a few roles on the small screen throughout his musical career. Some examples include Atlanta, Narcos: Mexico, and Black-Ish. With that being said, Quavo has yet to land a role in a film, but all of that is going to change soon. Thanks to Quality Control, the label Quavo is signed to, and their new film division Quality Films, Quavo has just locked in his first movie role. According to Deadline, the Migos rapper will star in the upcoming action thriller Takeover, which will blend live-action scenes with animation thanks to help from Triscope who signed a co-production deal with Quality Films last March according to Complex.

In Takeover, Quavo will play a man named Guy Miller who is a former crook that is trying to get their life back together. Unfortunately, that attempt gets sidetracked by opportunities that make him return to Atlanta’s dangerous street racing scene. “I’m really excited for this opportunity, especially shooting in my hometown of Atlanta,” Quavo said about the film in a statement. “This film is an ideal opportunity to further delve into my craft, and I can’t wait to see how the action plays out in this animated environment.”

Trioscope’s Chief Creative Officer Greg Jonkajtys, who also directed Netflix’s The Liberator, will handle directing duties for Takeover. The film will also be written by Jeb Stuart (Die Hard and The Fugitive) and Brandon Easton will also contribute to the script.

Jack Harlow’s ‘White Men Can’t Jump’ Remake Has Cast Wesley Snipes’ Role — But It’s Not Quavo

We learned last month that Jack Harlow has already been confirmed to star in a remake of the 1992 hoops hustler classic White Men Can’t Jump. While Harlow is a lock to play Woody Harrelson’s Billy Hoyle role, Quavo had thrust his name into the ring to play Wesley Snipes’ Sidney Deane character. In a seemingly random encounter with a TMZ paparazzo, Quavo said, “I think they need to call me so me and Jack Harlow can do it. I need to play Wesley Snipes’ role. Huncho and Harlow, let’s do it.” While the above-average basketball skills that Quavo flashed at last year’s NBA All-Star Weekend Celebrity helped notch him a role as a playable character on the NBA 2K22 video game, he doesn’t really have much of an acting resume to speak of.

To be fair, neither did Harlow, who apparently wowed enough in his audition for the “First Class” rapper to claim the starring role in producer Kenya Barris’ (Blackish) reboot. But Quavo officially won’t be joining Harlow in the film as 37-year old Sinqua Walls — who you may know from Teen Wolf, The Breaks, and Friday Night Lights — has been cast in Wesley Snipes’ Sidney Deane role, according to Deadline. While the pipe dream of a Huncho and Harlow silver screen pairing was appealing, having an established actor as a co-star is probably a better way for the film to be taken seriously.

Jack Harlow is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Quavo Teases the Drop of New Music: “Buckle Up”

Quavo Sued for Assaulting a Limo Driver in Las Vegas

With the summer approaching, gear up for new music from many artists in Hip-Hop, including Quavo. If you think Quavo wasn’t getting ready to drop, you’re crazy. He even said it himself. 1/3 of the Migo Gang took it to Twitter to let the people get ready.

All year Huncho has been putting in the work. He just dropped two verses on Fivio Foreign’s B.I.B.L.E. He also dropped a few singles like “Shooters In The Crib.”

It’s uncertain when he plans to drop, but if and when he does, this will be his first solo project since Quavo Huncho back in 2018.

Since entering the game, the Migos have been for fronting this cultural movement in Hip-Hop, hence their Culture projects. In recent news, Quavo agreed with Houston’s Rap-A-Lot label owner Jay Prince saying that Grammy’s “no longer matter” and is down to perform at an alternate award show that resonates more with the Hip-Hop culture.

Who knows what will happen in the foreseeable future with the Grammys. Maybe Jay Prince will orchestrate a rival award show. We know that if you think Quavo wasn’t dropping, you must be crazy.

Lil Durk Receives High Praise From LeBron James For Being Rap’s Best Hooper

Rap and basketball often go hand-in-hand. Many of the NBA’s players have dabbled in rap, with some, like Shaq, Kobe Bryant, and Dame Lillard, carving full-blown careers in music. Rappers, too have begun to show off their hardwood exploits, with Jack Harlow taking a role in a White Men Can’t Jump remake, Drake hosting his own recreational basketball league, and J. Cole even playing professionally for the Basketball Africa League’s inaugural season. Uproxx has even done a bit of an investigation into the better basketball players among rap’s most enthusiastic wannabe ballers.

But over the weekend, no less an authority than LeBron James, the face of the NBA for nearly two whole decades, crowned rap’s best hooper during his most recent episode of The Shop on HBO. “Lil Durk can hoop,” he said of the Chicago star whose No. 1 album 7220 helped secure him a $40 million contract. “He can hoop for real. Man, he [at] Lifetime hooping. He got a f*cking cannon, too. He got a peel, and he look like a muthaf*cka that can [ball].” Durk was happy to repost the clip of the discussion, which also mentions 2 Chainz, J. Cole, Sheck Wes (who also recently played overseas), and Quavo. “I don’t want to hear sh*t nomo from nobody,” Durk crowed in the caption. Check out the clip below.
