Ye Trolls Sheck Wes After “Mo Bamba” Rapper Claims He Robbed His Musical Style

Nearly six years ago, Sheck Wes had parties going wild with his mega hit “Mo Bamba.” It appeared on his debut album MUDBOY and it has been a defining song in the Cactus Jack/G.O.O.D. Music signee’s discography. However, the Harlem, New York native has had a hard time replicating that same intensity and hype around his music since then. His inaugural LP is still the only one he has to his name and the last single he dropped was in 2022 with “PAIN!” Regardless of the time in between the release of “Mo Bamba” and now, Sheck Wes is not going to let anyone discredit it, not even Ye.

According to HipHopDX, Sheck felt some type of way about one of his bosses’ comments that went viral yesterday. Those statements were Ye’s reactions as to who he feels is the best rapper ever. In typical fashion, he championed himself the G.O.A.T. saying that he washed Drake “AT THE FREE HOOVER CONCERT” and “WASHED KENDRICK ON NO MORE PARTIES IN LA.” This was seemingly a response to the recent diss from K-Dot sent Drake’s way on “Like That.”

Ye Is Feeling Himself On Social Media

Sheck Wes responded to Ye’s self-confident rant by calling him a thief of the “Mo Bamba” sound to nab a number one hit with “CARNIVAL.” “You stole my whole cadence, flow, beat, tempo to get #1 u delusional and u ain’t check in w the buzzins!! U n****s really bugged out!” Wes seemingly deleted the comment, but his G.O.O.D. boss caught it just in the nick of time. Ye decided to troll him by reposting the clap back on his IG story, as well as “Mo Bamba.”

What are your thoughts on Ye’s response to Sheck Wes? Do you think the VULTURES rapper stole Sheck’s style on “Mo Bamba” for “CARNVAL,” why or why not? Is Ye the best rapper alive right now? What song of the two do you prefer? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Sheck Wes, JID, And Ski Mask The Slump God Claim Their Spots On The Rap Throne In Lyrical Lemonade’s New ‘Fly Away’ Video

Cole Bennett continues to make good on his promise to drop a video for every song on the Lyrical Lemonade compilation album, All Is Yellow. Today (February 22), the prolific video director has shared the video for the album’s opening track, “Fly Away,” which features Sheck Wes, Ski Mask The Slump God, and JID.

In the song’s accompanying video, Ski Mask emerges from Lyrical Lemonade’s signature yellow curtain, sitting upon a yellow throne as he delivers his scorching verse.

The video then cuts to JID, who shines bright in a dark room, putting his lyrical ability and his star power on full display. The rappers are all seen in black suits and yellow ties throughout the visual.

In an interview with Paste, Bennett shared that for the All Is Yellow album, he wanted to tie the videos together using the yellow curtains and accessories.

“It’s gotten to the point where the audience’s eye has now been trained to see a black suit and a yellow tie, without any context beyond that, and know exactly what it means,” said Bennett. “And that’s super exciting to me, to be able to drive home a theme that far.”

Lil Durk Receives High Praise From LeBron James For Being Rap’s Best Hooper

Rap and basketball often go hand-in-hand. Many of the NBA’s players have dabbled in rap, with some, like Shaq, Kobe Bryant, and Dame Lillard, carving full-blown careers in music. Rappers, too have begun to show off their hardwood exploits, with Jack Harlow taking a role in a White Men Can’t Jump remake, Drake hosting his own recreational basketball league, and J. Cole even playing professionally for the Basketball Africa League’s inaugural season. Uproxx has even done a bit of an investigation into the better basketball players among rap’s most enthusiastic wannabe ballers.

But over the weekend, no less an authority than LeBron James, the face of the NBA for nearly two whole decades, crowned rap’s best hooper during his most recent episode of The Shop on HBO. “Lil Durk can hoop,” he said of the Chicago star whose No. 1 album 7220 helped secure him a $40 million contract. “He can hoop for real. Man, he [at] Lifetime hooping. He got a f*cking cannon, too. He got a peel, and he look like a muthaf*cka that can [ball].” Durk was happy to repost the clip of the discussion, which also mentions 2 Chainz, J. Cole, Sheck Wes (who also recently played overseas), and Quavo. “I don’t want to hear sh*t nomo from nobody,” Durk crowed in the caption. Check out the clip below.

RapTV and Rolling Loud, two of the world’s most renowned hip-hop brands, are teaming together to host a two-day hip-hop music showcase at the famous Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater on Friday, March 18, and Saturday, March 19.

Rolling Loud, the hip-hop festival behemoth, hired RapTV, the largest hip-hop social media platform, to grow its presence in the Red River Cultural District as it returns to Austin for another round of outstanding performances. The two significant businesses collaborated to produce one of the most anticipated music events of SXSW’s 36th edition.

Rolling Loud has done it again, collecting some of today’s hottest hip-hop acts and most promising newbies to perform at this year’s pop-up in Austin, known for curating FOMO-inducing lineups each year. Don Toliver and Sheck Wes lead an all-star lineup that includes Texas’ own Trae Tha Truth, as well as Ken Car$on, Babyface Ray, Duke Deuce, Jasiah, and Tay Money, as well as risers like Mike Dimes, Dro Kenji, Monaleo, and others, which will help rock the party at SXSW like never before.

“Rolling Loud, RapTV, and SXSW teamed up to create the biggest event of the week,” says Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif. “We’ve put together a lineup full of artists we believe are next up. RapTV will be on-site for the entire weekend event, bringing you behind-the-scenes material and exclusive news straight from the heart of the Live Music Capital of the World. For the most up-to-date information on the showcase, fans should follow RapTV and Rolling Loud on Instagram.

“With this SXSW showcase, RapTV is now entering a new chapter as a next-gen media organization, entertainment brand, and arbiter of hip-hop culture. With the combination of our Rolling Loud and RapTV teams, hip-hop fans better buckle up for two unforgettable nights in Austin.”

For fans looking to join in on the festivities, a select number of tickets will be available exclusively for those with SXSW music and platinum badge holders and SXSW Music Festival wristband holders.
