YSL RICO Update: Young Thug Being Charged With 8 Counts

As the world awaits YSL’s forthcoming RICO trial, it appears as if there’s a new positive development in the case.

Several members of the crew have taken plea deals in order to be released from jail. Young Thug remains behind bars.

On Wednesday (January 4), however, it was announced that the 31-year-old is only being hit with 8 charges. He was possibly facing up to 65 counts. The eight charges include conspiracy to violate the R.I.C.O. act, two counts of participation in criminal street gang activity and possession of both marijuana and codeine with intent to distribute.

Furthermore, the “Best Friend” rapper faces charges of possession of cocaine, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony and possession of a machine gun.

The Allegations

Additionally, the judge read out the allegations against the YSL crew in court earlier today. “Jeffrey Williams [Thug] and Atlanta-based hip-hop artists made YSL a well-known name by referring to it in his songs and on social media. YSL uses a variety of identifiers including colors, clothing, tattoos, hand signs, as well as verbal and written identifiers,” reads Judge Ural Glanville.

“YSL claims affiliation with the national Bloods gang and some associates also claim the Blood subset gangs, Sex, Money, Murder or 30d. YSL associates often display their colors by wearing a green or red bandana on their person, a practice known as flagging,” he continues afterwards.

Further allegations include using other hand gestures and the “SLATT” saying as a way of identifying themselves as gang members. “More allegations read: #YSL assc. make two-guns hand sign by forming pistols w/fingers & pointing them in opposite directions. BLAT[T] (Blood Love All the Time). SLAT[T] (Slime Love All the Time). Emojis include:green heart, green snake, blowing nose, green vomit,” writes journalist Cathy Russon in a subsequent tweet.

Evidently, these accusations attempt to label Young Thug and his fellow YSL crew as gang members. Authorities allege that they are more than just artists who are part of the YSL record label.

Regardless, it’s certainly good news that Thugger is only being charged with eight counts out of a possible 65.

Tony Yayo Says Tory Lanez Will Be Attacked In Jail

Tony Yayo is typically an entertaining guy. Beyond his raps, he’s certainly never afraid to speak his mind.

The G-Unit rapper recently sat down for an interview with VladTV. During the conversation, he shares his thoughts on the recent Tory Lanez guilty verdict.

Of course, DJ Vlad doesn’t shy away from asking the 44-year-old about the case. He asks Yayo what it’s like in jail as a rapper, based on the New York native’s personal experience. “I mean, it could be rough. People are not used to the conditions. You nobody, you just a number. They gon’ make you feel like you’re not R. Kelly or Bill Cosby, they tryna make you feel like you just a number and that’s what you are, just like everybody else,” he answers.

“Motherf*ckers don’t care. If you get out of line, a motherf*cker will get out of line with you too. And then you more of a target. C’mon, L.A. county? You seen they put up his meal. ‘Yo, Tory Lanez in here.’ That’s the talk of the jail and now everybody in the jail got something to talk about,” Yayo continues.

Later on in the interview, the “Drama Setter” rapper explicitly says what he would do to his lawyer if he was in Lanez’s shoes. “Where I’m from, I ain’t never hear nobody really shoot a girl. Like, you shoot n*ggas, but really don’t shoot girls. So it’s a strange case. If he woulda shot a n*gga, n*ggas probably wouldn’t have cared,” he prefaces.

“She got hit in the foot, it’s not an attempted murder, so for me, I probably woulda just copped out. Look at Tory, you go to jail on Christmas, you think you gon’ beat the case and then my lawyer would’ve got punched in the face, ’cause I’m not spending a quarter million dollars and my lawyer’s not telling me, yo, we might lose this,” he explains afterwards.

Yung Joc Says It’s “Very Common” For Men & Women To Have Sex For Beats

There have been plenty of rumors floating about what goes down in the studio, and Yung Joc is giving some insight. The Rap icon sat down for another extensive interview with VladTV, and during the chat, Ashanti’s recent story about a run-in with a producer was a topic of conversation. Last month, the singer went viral following comments she made about a predatory producer.

While on The Breakfast Club, Ashanti shared her tale. “We did two records together. He was like, ‘Okay, I’m not gonna charge you, you know you my homie,’” she said. “When it came time to put it on the album, he was like, ‘Well, let’s take a shower together.’”

Ashanti didn’t name names and noted that after a few people contacted the producer on her behalf, he made things right. Joc wanted to know if she was referring to Irv Gotti. After it was confirmed that he wasn’t the man in question, the rapper suggested all anyone needed to do was look at Ashanti’s catalog to match the year with her releases.

DJ Akademiks was also mentioned because he publicly criticized Ashanti for allegedly not helping other women by sharing the producer’s name.

“Everybody’s not messy,” said Joc of Akademiks’s call out.

“When people are disgruntled or no longer in your circle, that’s what they do. They expose your hand, or they’ll put stuff out there on you. They’ll weaponize whatever they know, secrets against you,” he continued.

Elsewhere, Joc said it’s “very common” for people to have sex “for beats.”

“A lotta women be like…men too! Let’s be for real,” the rapper added. “Men, too!… Oh, so, you think just ’cause they men? You gon’ play that naive? It’s male producers out here that will do something, probably, I’m sure.”

This one should open up a can of worms. Check out what else Yung Joc had to say about the subject above.

YSL’s Lil Keed Official Cause Of Death Revealed

The unexpected passing of Lil Keed took Hip Hop by surprise, and now, more information is being shared about his health conditions. Undoubtedly, Hip Hop has been rocked by an increasing number of deaths in recent years. From gun violence to traffic accidents to drug overdoses, we’ve mourned far more artists and influencers than we would like. However, Keed’s death wasn’t like the others, and it was quickly shared that his passing was tied to his health concerns.

New reports state the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner has confirmed Keed died of natural causes. His passing was related to eosinophilia, a disease that reportedly fights against white blood cells. This can often indicate a larger issue, including cancer or parasitic infection.

GloRilla & Her Team Under Fire For Alleged Shady Business Deals

GloRilla was undeniably one of the hottest breakthrough stars of the year in 2022. This is thanks to a couple of viral hits, including “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” and “Tomorrow 2” with Cardi B.

These songs, along with her charisma and commanding presence on the mic, have helped to turn her into one of the most promising acts in the game.

However, some business owners are calling out the Memphis native and members of her team for allegedly scamming their brands. A video report about the allegations is now on The Shade Room‘s Instagram account.

Specifically, the owner of a small hair and body care business, Kimberley Renfroe, says she paid $1,000 to a man claiming to be GloRilla’s manager. The payment was supposed to be for an endorsement deal in which the 23-year-old rapper would promote some of her business’ products. Once the man received the payment, he subsequently asked for more cash and then ultimately ghosted Renfroe.

A choreographer claims she had a similar experience. She says the Memphis native and her team are responsible for reaching out to her for a five-hour dance lesson for $1,500. Once the class allegedly happened, she says she never got her money.

However, the “Blessed” rapper claims that these are cases of scammers pretending to be members of her team.

“I was made aware that an individual has been impersonating members of my team and deceiving people for money as part of a scam. I’m looking into the issue, but I’d like to encourage all my fans and supporters to be very careful with how they communicate with online strangers. It’s important to do research and take the appropriate steps to prevent yourselves from being victimized by cybercriminals posing as celebrity teams,” she says in a statement to FOX13 Memphis.

Of course, this story arrives shortly after the Memphis native made headlines for seeking a personal assistant. She was offering $550 per week for the position.

In other news surrounding the 23-year-old, an old video of her recently began surfacing online. In the footage before the fame, she confesses her love for Chief Keef. A picture of the “Love Sosa” rapper appears in the background while the Memphis native lip-syncs to pre-recorded audio.

“This is your man? the audio asks. “Yeah,” she promptly pretends to reply. After the audio states to “look at the screen,” she does so with admiration and says, “That’s mine.”

SZA & “S.O.S.” Producer ThankGof4Cody Enjoy Hawaii Vacation

Rumors have begun to swirl about SZA and it doesn’t have anything to do with her music. The New Jersey-bred singer has been riding high after the success of her latest effort, S.O.S. SZA’s sophomore album arrived in all its glory last month and has been sitting pretty atop the Billboard 200 chart for three weeks. It seems only fitting that the singer enjoys a much-needed vacation, and the paparazzi spotted her in Hawaii.

However, it doesn’t look like SZA was flying solo. The Top Dawg Entertainment songbird has ThankGod4Cody, real name Cody Jordan Fayne, by her side as she frolicked on the beach. Fayne not only work on seven songs for S.O.S., but he was also instrumental in helping deliver SZA’s debut album, Ctrl.

Whatever the case may be, the singer is keeping her private life…well…private, at least for the time being. Although it has been alleged that SZA has dated fellow celebrities from Drake to Kehlani, the singer’s personal life, for the most part, remains a mystery.

Metro Boomin Blesses Fans With OG Version Of “Knife Talk”

Over the course of the past few years, Metro Boomin has been one of the hottest go-to producers for some of the best rappers in the game.

On top of producing full-length projects for artists like 21 Savage and Big Sean, he also puts together impressive compilations with an array of artists on his own albums.

On Tuesday (January 3), the “Ric Flair Drip” producer randomly took to his Twitter account to share the original version of Drake and 21 Savage’s “Knife Talk.” Of course, the song is from 2021’s Certified Lover Boy and is a fan favorite.

However, the beat was originally just a collaboration between the Savage Mode artists. The original title for the song, “Gang Sh*t” is appropriate, considering the repetition of this phrase on the hook.

As a result of Drake not appearing on the original, the second verse from the “Glock In My Lap” rapper is extended. The song was first meant to be on Metro and 21’s SAVAGE MODE II. However, the Atlanta native explained to DJ Akademiks that the 6 God heard the song only a few days before CLB‘s release. He subsequently added his own verses, putting it onto the album as a last-minute addition.

“He did his verse the day before the album came out. I had that song. That song was supposed to go on Savage Mode II, but something was just telling me, hold on to it,” explains the 30-year-old.

Evidently, Metro and Drizzy continue to be locked in together. Just a couple of days ago, the “One Dance” artist’s unreleased verse on “Stance” leaked on social media. The song already features Travis Scott and Young Thug. Obviously, it didn’t make the final cut of Metro’s latest album, HEROES & VILLAINS. Check out the verse in the tweet below.

Furthermore, the 29-year-old also has a production credit on “More M’s” off of the Toronto star’s latest album. Of course, this is the 21 Savage collab, Her Loss.

What are your thoughts on the OG version? Do you prefer it over the one that we officially got on CLB? Comment below. Finally, make sure to stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest music news.
