Playboi Carti’s album rollout is fully underway, and that means he’s more online, grateful, and excited than ever. Moreover, he’s shared a lot of people shouting him out on social media, whether it be fellow artists, fans, industry folks, and the like. The latest to promote the “Pull Up” rapper’s new material is The Weeknd, who shared Carti’s new song and music video on his Instagram Story. Whatever I AM MUSIC ends up being (most likely an album), the culture is incredibly excited for it. He also shared reactions and promotions from Travis Scott, Ken Carson, NAV, and more, and even shared an unanswered DM to Frank Ocean about when he’s going to drop.

“You don’t need promotion when u got family 00X0,” Playboi Carti wrote when reposting Abel Tesfaye’s shout-out of this new song. Furthermore, this is a new snippet entirely, and is not the one that he shared just hours before that is a bit more aggressive. Rather, this track is a more woozy and dark offering from the Atlanta rage pioneer, with a delivery more akin to his more measured moments on Whole Lotta Red, which is most of what defined Die Lit. As such, we already have various things pointing us in the direction of various past aesthetics of his that he will probably develop even further.

With this frenetic and unexpectedly consistent online activity in mind, we’re sure that Playboi Carti will have more for us as the wait for his next album draws on. So far, it’s proved to be a successful experiment, especially paired with other unbelievable musical miracles like a Frank Ocean snippet that came out around the same time. Is it possible that these two notoriously offline, mystique-shrouded, and tease-heavy artists coordinated to address their absence at the same time? Now that we finally have confirmation that whatever I AM MUSIC is will come out very soon, fans are much happier to take him seriously online. Moreover, some die-hards speculated that the Atlanta rage icon might’ve dissed rising artist OsamaSon with his latest IG Story repost. It’s an old Young Thug tweet that reads, “Boy slow down dropping all that BS music…” and OsamaSon just came out with his new album Flex Musix. Did he go too far on this assessment or is he right to call out a lackluster release?

Regardless, there are way too many people who this tweet could apply to for us to really come to a solid conclusion on that. What’s more is that this could only really come up because people compare OsamaSon’s style to Playboi Carti’s and plenty of other artists’ sounds, too. As such, people are probably just stirring up the pot, and he probably didn’t mean to diss anyone in particular with this latest repost. After all, Carti probably wants us to focus much more on his upcoming releases, for which he recently teased a snippet of a new beat.

Playboi Carti Shares New Snippet On Instagram: “IM NOT PLAYING”

Playboi Carti’s I AM MUSIC (or just Music? Who knows?) is finally upon us, and he is well-aware of what that anticipation means. Moreover, he recently shared a short instrumental snippet on Instagram along with a graphic that reads “IM NOT PLAYING.” As such, the Atlanta rage pioneer is probably very aware that he has been playing for the better part of three years now when it comes to his next album. In addition to reposting Tyler, The Creator DMs, old Young Thug tweets, and Pharrell cosigns, this is adding to some more prolific activity from him that fans are very happy to see. After all, Carti is usually radio-silent, and a lot of what we hear or see of him is through so many other means that aren’t himself.

Furthermore, let’s talk about this snippet, which might be part of this January drop for Playboi Carti. It’s nothing too special, to be honest: heavy and simple bass, a creepy and slightly Halloween-ish synth melody, a compressed snare, and rattling hi-hats. If anything, it’s like a fusion of the tempo and drum pattern that dominated Die Lit with the goth aesthetics of Whole Lotta Red. As such, we can’t really take a guess at what previous style this new release will imitate, but we hope that it’s none of the above and that Carti comes through with something new.

It’s actually funny that there are a lot of similarities between this and WLR: a winter/Christmastime drop, DJ Akademiks with the inside scoop, and it doesn’t look like his aesthetics have changed all that much since then. We’d guess that the newest thing about this new release is that the “FE!N” MC will use more of the deep and warbly delivery he debuted on that song.

Meanwhile, as fans, we all have to be ready for this whole thing to fall apart at any second– and to be cognizant of his alleged abhorrent behavior. After all, with so many teases, apparent delays, and unfulfilled promises, fans are too hardened to let their guard down. Playboi Carti just announced I AM MUSIC; that’s the most important thing you need to know right now about this news. Is it a new album, a clothing line, a new tour to account for his rescheduled dates, or something else entirely? Well, we don’t know for sure, but that doesn’t make this development any less exciting. After all, we usually only get radio silence on this matter, and official social media posts from him are far better than random leaks, assumptions, or other hints we usually get. What’s more is that even Pharrell Williams shared this news on his pages, so we have more reason than ever to believe that another Christmas drop for the Whole Lotta Red superstar might be upon us.

However, we don’t want to get too ahead of ourselves yet; we can’t forget that this is Playboi Carti we’re talking about. This has been a common cycle in the media for years now, only amplified by the longer we wait for it. For many fans out there, they probably won’t believe it until they see new material on their preferred streaming service, but we can’t ignore that there’s some hope here. As such, maybe the Neptunes legend will be the producer and fashion icon at the helm of this next project, or he’s just simply as excited as we are. Either way, it certainly adds fuel to the speculative fire, especially with his own talk about having a lot of new music on the way.

Meanwhile, given past reports on Carti’s album being called Music, this adds to the likelihood that this is an official album announcement. Playboi Carti Promises New Album Is “Coming Soon” Amid Rescheduled Europe Tour

SHOCKING NEWS: Playboi Carti is still teasing his new album with no concrete release date, single, or announcement in sight… and we can’t wait for it to land sometime in 2036. Jokes aside, there’s actually a few reasons as to why this particular hint has a bit more weight to it than usual. Moreover, he and the rest of his Opium crew (Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang) rescheduled their European Antagonist tour. Not only that, but this tour also hinted at the Atlanta MC being in album more, since this is a good promotional opportunity. Recently, DJ Akademiks and other outlets shared an official press release that blends these two worlds together.

“Playboi Carti Antagonist Tour UK and Europe dates rescheduled,” the statement reads. “New album coming soon. Opium label signees Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang set to support tour.” This is the second postponement that Antagonist faced. First announced in July of this year for a September start date in the U.S., it then changed to a European kickoff in November, followed by winter United States dates. From what Ticketmaster indicates at press time, the winter U.S. dates still stand, while the European shows don’t have an official rescheduled date.

Of course, what most fans really care about concerning this press release is that Playboi Carti is hopefully dropping an album very soon. Furthermore, this follows an avalanche of leaks, acclaimed performances, low-profile social media activity, and the general buzz that such an ardent fanbase creates around the most minute of details. We can’t say that we didn’t fall into this excitement, either. After all, Whole Lotta Red is as relevant as ever despite the “Choppa Won’t Miss” MC’s legal trouble.

Concert Review: Travis Scott Turned So-Fi Stadium Into “Utopia” For A Night

Travis Scott made history at the SoFi Stadium on Sunday, November 5th. He brought his electrifying Utopia – Circus Maximus Tour to the stadium in Inglewood, California, and it was an experience to remember. This larger-than-life spectacle was a sensory overload, to say the least. It defied the boundaries of a traditional concert. In fact, Scott transported the audience to his world, or his UTOPIA. Complete with a stage that resembled a rock trail, an ambiance that consisted of cricket sounds, and an eerie smoke coming from the stage, it was anything but average. UTOPIA was the album released this year, five years after his last full-length studio project ASTROWORLD. The project came off as one of the most cohesive bodies of work of Scott’s career thus far, and it earned him a No. 1 spot on Billboard’s coveted Top 200 chart.

As far as transporting audiences to utopia, Travis did just that. Teezo Touchdown was the show’s opener, and he enchanted audiences with his performance. From the moment the lights dimmed, the atmosphere crackled with anticipation. Flames erupted from the stage as music began to play, adding to the intensity of the evening. The rock stage design seemed to have a life of its own, with flames spontaneously shooting up during select moments. Although most of the setlist consisted of music from Travis’ latest album Utopia, he did in fact sprinkle in a few fan favorites from his discography.

In fact, he started the set with “Hyena,” and “Thank God,” which set the energy for the night and definitely got the crowd hyped. These two songs are also the first to appear in chronological order on the album, too. Around 10 o’clock, a robotic, AI-sounding female voice pleasantly prepared people for Scott’s lively entrance. Throughout the stadium, her voice could be heard announcing, “Greetings from Utopia. Before the show starts, open that s**t up.” The robot was referring to the mosh pits that tend to ensue at Travis Scott’s concerts. Finally, about 20 minutes after the announcement was made, Travis Scott made his grand entrance. Following the first two songs “Hyena” and “Thank God,” he went into “Modern Jam” with Teezo Touchdown, followed up with “Aye” and then performed “sdp interlude.”

The energy increased throughout the stadium with each song becoming more and more high-energy. There was even one moment when some fans tried hopping over the barricade to get to the floor. Some people made it, and ran off into the crowd. As more tried to jump the gate and get a front-row experience, security stopped that from happening. Moreover, towards the middle of the night, Scott kept the energy high. He performed three of his most popular songs, back-to-back, to which everyone knew the words. The songs were “Butterfly Effect,” “Highest In The Room,” and “Mamacita.” This was truly the peak of the night as the entire stadium filled with 70,000 people, was standing and singing each song word for word.

His performance of “Mamacita” from 2014’s sophomore mixtape, Days Before Rodeo, was a highlight of the night. It’s a song that marked the early days of Travis Scott, and also signified his rise in the industry. He didn’t stop there with taking the audience back. In fact, he dug deeper into the archives to perform “90210” from his 2015 debut studio album, Rodeo. The energy was still pretty insane as the audience relived the classics.

The night took an unexpected family twist when Scott’s firstborn child, Stormi, made a surprise appearance. As the song “Mafia” played, Stormi made her cameo and rose onto the stage. With her fearless dad Travis Scott, the two rode the parasail structure together, harnessed in so that they could soar above the wild crowd. High above the mosh pits, fans witnessed an extraordinary father-daughter bonding moment, as Scott held Stormi’s hand the entire time. It was a cute moment to witness, for sure. In addition to bringing Stormi out, Scott was pretty interactive with his fans as well. He selected two people from the crowd to ride the parasail at one point during the show. Two men in green masks were selected to rage atop the rocks, definitely making their night.

But, that’s not all the surprises Scott had in store! He brought out King Vamp, also known as Playboi Carti to the stage for his performance of “Fe!n.” The song’s intro track played for at least 20 seconds before Carti emerged from the rocks. His surprise appearance had the crowd going crazy. It was definitely one of the most memorable surprise guest appearances of the night, and maybe even concert history, as the two powerhouses took the stage to turn the crowd up even more than they already were. It felt like an entire party inside the stadium as the flashing strobe lights made it feel like a club.

After Playboi Carti’s appearance, Scott seamlessly segued into “Sicko Mode,” keeping the energy levels cranked up to eleven. His trusty DJ, Chase B, was the sonic conductor. He ensured every transition between tracks was a flawlessly orchestrated symphony. The entire concert felt like an unbroken, exhilarating flow of music and movement, a testament to Scott’s mastery in delivering an unforgettable live experience. The crowd was left in awe as the hits kept coming, making it a night to remember all the way through.

Finally, as the concert came to a close, it was clear that fans didn’t want the party to end. Before ending his set, he took a moment to thank his fans with a clever transition into his last song. “I never thought of this dream coming true, this night has given me beyond chills… I have goosebumps.” Furthermore, he closed out with a performance of “Goosebumps,” one of his most popular and well-known songs. As people were walking out, “Telekinesis” played in the background. The night ended far too soon!

In retrospect, it was an unforgettable night that’s going down in concert history. Travis Scott delivered an incredible performance, spanning from classics like “Mamacita” to the crowd-favorite “Highest In The Room.” Stormi’s adorable cameo and Playboi Carti’s electric performance of “Fe!n” added extra layers of magic to the evening. The audience was caught in a euphoric trance, wishing for the night to last forever. It was a party that transcended time and left a mark on all who were fortunate enough to be part of it.

Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus tour has been underway since October 11 in Charlotte, North Carolina. In just under month, the success of the tour has been astronomical. There are plenty of reasons as to why everyone is seemingly having the time of their lives at these shows. One of the main obvious ones is the songs. La Flame’s die-hard fanbase had waited five long years before the release of UTOPIA. There was a lot of debate at whether or not the album would live up to all of the hype leading up to its release.

While there are certainly some who feel that Travis ripped off Kanye West’s Yeezus, many have proclaimed it the album of the year. Again, that has to do with the quality within the tracklist. Playboi Carti Claims He’s Been Recording His New Album In A Cave

Playboi Carti fans have been waiting for a new album for a very long time. The rapper last released a new project late in 2020 when he surprise-dropped Whole Lotta Red. Since then he’s dropped almost no new material, simply appearing as a feature on other artists’ songs. Most notably, he joined The Weeknd and Madonna on the hit song Popular earlier this year. The song landed on the soundtrack for The Weeknd’s HBO show The Idol.

Now in a new interview, Carti is shedding light on his next album. He sat down with German culture magazine Numero Berlin to share some details on what he’s been up to with fans. He described trying to stay off of his phone and out of his own head to get in the zone for recording music. “I’m in my surroundings. I’ve been recording in Paris. I love Paris. I was recording in a cave for like three months and all the music that came out of that is just chaotic and crazy,” Carti explains. Jaden Smith Shares Playboi Carti-Inspired Halloween Look

Inspiration for Halloween costumes can come from many different places. Even for some rappers, they can look around the world of hip-hop for suggestions on where to take their costumes. It’s no surprise then that Jaden Smith used the genre as his inspiration. Smith is notoriously a big fan of rap music himself and has expressed his admiration for artists like Kid Cudi, Kanye West, and Tyler, The Creator.

But when it came to his Halloween look Jaden didn’t choose any of those rappers. Instead, he adopted a look inspired by Playboi Carti, wearing some of the signature face paint the rapper has been sporting in his vamp era. “You Better Be Ready,” he captioned the post which included a series of pictures of his impressive imitation of Carti. Fans may be onto something about his lack of releases recently. Jaden’s last project was his CTV3 mixtape which dropped back in 2020. His last studio album was ERYS which preceded it by a year dropping in 2019. While he technically dropped a deluxe edition of the mixtape in 2021, he hasn’t released any new material since then.
