Omar Apollo Drops The Smooth, Pharrell-Produced Single ‘Tamagotchi’
Omar Apollo turned some eyeballs in his direction with his 2020 debut full-length project Apolonio, and now he’s getting ready to generate even more attention with Ivory, a new album that’s set to drop in early April. Fans have actually already heard a decent portion of the album, as Apollo has now shared five singles from it. That includes the new one from today, “Tamagotchi.”
If the production style of this one sounds familiar, that because The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo) produced the song. On the smooth and sensual tune, sung in both English and Spanish, Apollo sings, “You with somebody, or are you cool? / I want your body, you want me too / I see you coming, I come for you / Need you around me, I know you do.”
Preceding “Tamagotchi” as Ivory singles are “Go Away,” “Bad Life,” “Invincible,” and “Killing Me.” Speaking of “Killing Me,” Apollo actually performed the track on The Tonight Show on March 11, the day of its release. He’s also got tour dates coming up this spring and summer.
Listen to “Tamagotchi” above.
Ivory is out 4/8 via Warner Records. Pre-order it here.

Omar Apollo Is A Bilingual Crooner In His Retro ‘Killing Me’ Performance On ‘The Tonight Show’
Bilingual crooner Omar Apollo is gearing up to release his sophomore album, Ivory, and he recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to give fans a taste of what’s to come. Following up his major label debut, Apolonio, Omar is back already with a brand new song cycle. This isn’t his first time appearing on Jimmy Fallon either, he performed “Go Away” back in 2021, and now he’s back with an even more clear picture of his next project.
The Mexican-American singer-songwriter premiered the new track with his live performance on late night TV, and also shared a studio version of the song as well, which you can check out below. “Killing Me” is the fourth single Apollo has shared off his upcoming album, following “Invincible,” which features Daniel Caesar, a previously released single called “Bad Life,” which is his second collaboration with Kali Uchis, following up their past song together, “Hey Boy” off Apolonio, and finally, the album’s first single, “Go Away.”
It’s really quite compelling to listen to Omar’s music, because aside from his beautiful vocals, the effortless way he switches between English and Spanish is even more impressive. And with Latin pop and reggaeton making a huge impact on mainstream pop music, it couldn’t be a better time for his breakout. Watch the live, retro performance of “Killing Me” up top, and look out for Ivory coming out April 8 via Warner Records.

Omar Apollo Drops The Daniel Caesar Collab ‘Invincible’ And Announces A New Album, ‘Ivory’
After finding initial success on SoundCloud, Omar Apollo dropped a pair of EPs before releasing his first full-length project, Apolonio, in 2020, which earned the young artist much acclaim. Now, a new album, Ivory, is on the way. Alongside this news, Apollo dropped a new single, the Daniel Caesar collaboration “Invincible,” a lush tune that puts the vocal chops of both artists front and center.
Apollo is also embarking on the “Desvelado” tour this spring, which has a run of North American shows from April to May before a handful of overseas appearances in June. Deb Never supports on a majority of those shows.
