With his new album One of Wun, Gunna aims for the Hip-Hop No. 1 spot.
According to HitsDailyDouble, the album will be the highest charting debut of the week with a range of 60-65 album equivalent units moved. That will still place him behind the titan of Taylor Swift, who will take the top spot for the fourth time.
Gunna has unveiled his highly anticipated fifth studio album, “One of Wun,” under the Young Stoner Life Records/300 Entertainment label.
The album features 20 tracks showcasing Gunna’s unparalleled talent alongside superstar collaborations with Offset, Normani, Leon Bridges, and Roddy Ricch, promising an immersive musical experience for fans.
The album’s captivating artwork, designed by Calvin Clausell Jr. and spearheaded by Spike Jordan of The Genius Club, alongside art direction and design by Tal Midyan, adds an extra layer of creativity and depth to the project.
Offset has been quiet as of late. The Migos rapper dropped his second solo album, Set It Off, in 2023, but since then, he’s been relegated to the occasional guest verse. His relationship with Cardi B has taken up most of his media coverage. Even when he does get attention for something music-related, its not in a positive light. Offset recently pulled out of his scheduled performance at Hot 97 Summer Jam, and fans were not pleased. The rapper needs something to get back on track. And he might have just previewed it on Instagram.
Offset hopped on social media on May 10 to preview a new song. No discernable lyrics, or even a title, but the instrumental came through loud and clear. The rapper can be heard skating over a trap beat that samples the 1980s R&B classic “Love You Down.” The song, originally sung by Ready for the World, can be heard in its entirety during the beginning of Offset’s version. As the vocals reach a fever pitch, drums kick it and the sample gets filtered. It sounds great. Offset takes a melodic approach on this one, singing his rhymes instead of spitting them. It makes total sense, given the romantic subject matter of “Love You Down.”
The snippet is a different sound for the rapper. His solo material has largely been an extension of Migos, with an emphasis on hard-hitting drums and glitchy hi-hats. Offset told Los Angeles Daily News that he looks to old school music as an inspiration when it comes to what he’s doing next. He cited another 80s icon, Michael Jackson, specifically. “I learned to appreciate the skill set that he put in, and the extra grind and the work and the practice,” he noted. “I see more for myself and creatively challenge myself to take it to the next level, even though I’m on a high level.”
There’s been little to no information on Offset’s next album. He mentioned it during a TMZ interview in December 2023, but even then, he provided a release date that came and went. “Next album dropping February,” he claimed. “[That’s an] exclusive, I only told y’all that.” Hopefully fans to get to hear the full version of this new song soon.

Gunna has spent the last few years doing damage control. He was arrested in relation to the YSL Rico indictment, and his decision to cop a plea deal led to debate over whether he was “snitch.” It’s a tough label to tear off once it’s been applied, but the Georgia rapper has done a good job of redirecting fans back to his music. Gunna’s 2023 album, A Gift & a Curse, spawned his second top 10 hit, and his latest album, One of Wun, is an attempt to bolster his credibility as an artist.
One of Wun has some Gunna’s slickest album cuts to date. “whatsapp (wassam)” remains a standout, but it’s a credit to the uniformly excellent production that it sounds right at home. “collage” and “neck on a yacht” are braggadocios cuts that further the opulent, unhurried tone of the album as a whole. Gunna has more confidence than ever when it comes to finding catchy, unique rhyming pockets, and it shows. “On one tonight” and “still prevail” are low on substance but high on style. Frankly, that’s where Gunna excels.
One of Wun is surprisingly light on features, though it actually plays to the album’s benefit. It’s a breath of fresh air when Normami and Leon Bridges show up on “$$$” and “clear my rain,” respectively. Gunna does surprisingly well on these more soulful cuts. Offset and Roddy Ricch provide the only guest verses, and the former absolutely steals the show on “prada dem.” It’s probably still the best song on the album. The biggest knock against One of Wun is that it’s too long. It’s 20 songs, and even on first listen, you can pick out tracks that could’ve been cut. There’s a better album within the finished product we got.
What are your thoughts on this brand-new album One of Wun by Gunna? Is this the rapper’s best album yet? Which song is your favorite and why? Do you think the rapper is throwing subs at Future? Although Gunna’s last album, A Gift & A Curse, firmly reestablished his position in hip-hop as one of its foremost hitmakers, it was also his first album with no guest stars. Whether that was Gunna’s choice or not, it certainly lent credence to the speculation that he was persona non grata in the rap world as a result of taking an Alford plea to secure his release from jail.
However, his new album, One Of Wun, might just put an end to that speculation, as its tracklist reunites him with two of his most frequent collaborators in Offset and Uproxx cover star Roddy Ricch — who have both been through some rough patches of their own, if we’re being honest. In addition, R&B singers Leon Bridges and Normani will both appear on the album, suggesting that Gunna will be aiming to expand his appeal now that he’s regained firmer footing.

Killer Mike pays homage to his late friend and fellow Dungeon Family member Rico Wade with a remix of his Michael standout “Exit 9,” now featuring Offset in addition to Blxst.
While much of the song remains unchanged, Mike reworks a line in his first verse to salute the fallen producer, rapping, “It hurts like hell to say but rest in peace to Rico Wade / He soundtracked the day when me and Slee were serving J.”
Offset also taps into his own recent loss, channeling grief for late Migos bandmate Takeoff along with other family members gone too soon: “Oh, my brother, look in the air, I see an angel done fly,” he intones. “15 years, brother gone, every day momma cry / Grandma died, I wish I could go back and get time.”
Wade was reported dead at the age of 52 earlier this month, with the New York Times printing a statement from the producer’s family. “We are deeply saddened by the sudden and unexpected passing of our son, father, husband, and brother Rico Wade. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of a talented individual who touched the lives of so many.”
He touched those lives in large part due to his role as the focal point of the Dungeon Family, the Atlanta-based collective that included such pioneering acts as Mike, Future, Goodie Mob, and Outkast. The group’s name was taken from its recording headquarters in Wade’s mother’s basement, where the crew coalesced around a love of hip-hop and soulful, out-of-this-world beats created by Wade’s production trio, Organized Noize.
Just a couple weeks after dropping the video for his unabashed Atlanta anthem “EXIT 9 (feat. Blxst)”, Killer Mike has shared a new version of the track with yet another esteemed ATLien, Offset. The track was premiered by Killer Mike on HOT 107.9 in Atlanta on Thursday, ahead of today’s streaming release. “Exit 9 in Atlanta is the Adamsville Martin Luther King Jr Blvd so when we started talking about doing a remix I knew I wanted to keep it on some Atlanta shit,” states Mike. “Offset and I have been running into each over the years showing one another love and respect & talking about working on something. Finally the time was right and the Nawf’West Remix was Born!” The song’s unabashed tribute to the city was brought into crystalline focus in the music video, which depicts Blxst and Mike breaking bread with the mayor and making the rounds to notable ATL landmarks from the Cascade roller rink to the Blue Flame.
Killer Mike really put on for the city of Atlanta and the rap genre at the 2024 GRAMMYs. Somewhat controversially, his sophomore solo LP MICHAELtook home three categories at the iconic award show earlier this year. It won over massive mainstream records UTOPIA, HEROES & VILLAINS, Her Loss, and King’s Disease III. One of the consistent arguments against him winning came from fans who are not hip to the rap legend saying things like, “Who is Killer Mike?” But he definitely deserved all the success and now, Killer Mike is taking another victory lap by adding Offset to “EXIT 9.”
Track 10 on the original version of the album, “EXIT 9” only featured California singer Blxst. Additionally, the song was just over two minutes and 40 seconds. But with Offset entering the mix, the record now clocks in at 3:30. As most know, adding another artist to an already great track can achieve mixed results.
Listen To “EXIT 9” By Killer Mike, Offset, & Blxst
But to the former Migos member’s credit, he seamlessly slides into what Mike and Blxst were doing on the reflective song about making it from the bottom. Offset rocks a monotone and lowkey flow as he talks about Takeoff, his late grandmother, and working hard for his respect in the game. All in all, this one of the stronger bonus cuts from MICHAEL. Be sure to check out the new version of “EXIT 9” with the link above.
What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “EXIT 9” by Killer Mike, Offset, and Blxst? Which version of this track do you prefer more now and why? Offset may be one of the biggest rappers in the music industry but beyond that, he’s a dedicated dad to his five awesome kids. Although he and Cardi B are currently separated, it’s evident that keeping a tight family is very important to the ex-Migos member. Despite the success of his latest album Set it Off keeping him busy and on the road, it’s refreshing to see that being a present father is still a top priority to him. Here’s some info on hip-hop’s hottest siblings.
Offset’s oldest son Jordan Cephus, 15, was born on Dec. 21, 2009, from a previous relationship the rapper had with Justine Watson. Offset has addressed his son Jordan in some of his music, apologizing for not being the best father and not always being there for him in the past. However, he’s making up for the time lost, providing his firstborn plenty of love and quality time. The teen is a talented beatmaker and has joined in on numerous photoshoots with his siblings, usually in matching outfits. Hanging with the Cephus squad now seems to be a huge part of Jordan’s life.
Offset shares an older daughter Kalea Marie with rapper Shya L’amour. Kalea was born on March 23, 2015. Though his relationship with his daughter was strained at first, it has since improved, and L’amour has admitted that Cardi B was a big help in doing so. The young lady has naturally grown very close to her half-sister Kulture. The two kids have posed with Cardi in numerous shoots, usually wearing coordinating hairstyles and gorgeous gowns.
Kody Cephus was born on March 2, 2015, to Offset and his ex Oriel Jamie. He has expressed an interest in music like his famous father. In 2021, at 6 years old, he debuted a song called “Lamb Truck” in a video posted on Offset’s Instagram. The young heir danced and sang along to his track with his sister Kalea. He has also taken a liking to football, participating in little league.
Kulture Kiari Cephus was born on July 10, 2018. At 6 years old, Kulture has taken after her parents’ trendsetting ways. The toddler, who has over 2 million Instagram followers is constantly posing for photoshoots and selfies with mom Cardi B in matching outfits, expensive jewelry and mini Birkin bags. In one trending post, Offset gifted his youngest baby girl with $50,000 in cash for her 4th birthday.
Cardi B and Offset’s youngest son Wave Set Cephus was born Sept. 4, 2021. His middle name derives from his father’s stage name, Offset, of course. It’s quite evident that Offset and Cardi’s youngest has an uncanny resemblance to his sister Kulture. You can catch this little kid any day on Instagram rocking the latest kicks with an iced-out chain, and maybe even a fur jacket. Wave doesn’t quite have an active Instagram account, but he does have numerous fan pages that post adorable pics and fashion reviews.
