DJ Allegedly Kicked Out Of Toronto Club After Playing Drake Diss “Not Like Us”

The effects of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” are still being felt. The single solidified Lamar’s victory over Drake in the great rap battle of 2024. It also topped the Billboard Hot 100, giving Lamar his second solo number one. The single’s quotable lines and catchy beat have made it fodder for clubs, but it seems as though bringing the song to the 6 is a bridge too far. A self-proclaimed DJ was reportedly booted from a Toronto club after he dared to throw on “Not Like Us” during a set.

The claim originated from the X account @OGxTP on May 27. The user claimed that he witnessed a DJ suffer real-time consequences for playing an anti-Drake song at the club Silent H. “Brah we was at a club in Toronto last night,” he wrote. “The DJ played ‘Not Like Us’ they kicked bruh out the club and told him he not gettin paid lmao.” The claim quickly gained traction on the platform, but others stepped forward with contradictory information. Another self-proclaimed Toronto DJ, Mike Don’t, posted a screenshot of an Instagram exchange.

X Users Claimed The Drake Diss Incident Was False

The exchange saw Mike Don’t ask about the alleged “Not Like Us” incident. According to his source, however, the DJ was not kicked out. In fact, people who were attempting to bully the DJ into not playing “Not Like Us” were the ones allegedly booted. “No he didn’t get kicked out,” the source stated. “Some guys tried to pressure him to not play Kendrick but the guys who tried it got kicked out lol.” Another X user tweeted @OGxTP with more contradictory information.

The user not only included the Mike Don’t Instagram exchange, but another X exchange between someone who attended Silent H. “I was at Silent H last night and didn’t see this at all,” the alleged attendee noted. The user, @sryidkwhyimhere, accused @OGxTP of lying to users about the whole incident. “you LIED about the dj getting kicked out and not getting paid,” they replied, before adding more information. “I just watched the DJ’s Instagram stories and it also shows you’re lying.”

As it stands, there’s far more evidence to suggest the Drake diss incident didn’t happen.

T-Pain Gets Down To “Not Like Us” At Las Vegas Show: Watch

Everyone and their mother are involved in this Kendrick Lamar and Drake feud one way or another. Somehow, T-Pain is in this too, after the auto-tune legend was seen dancing to “Not Like Us.” Debatably the biggest song of the entire back-and-forth war, the final stab to chest of Drake has continued to grow. Part of the reason for that is just how much it has been played at various artists’ concerts. Not too long ago, the West Coast anthem was being spun at one of Lil Wayne’s recent shows.

In the end is there really a better way to hype up a crowd than to play this brutal track? Well, the audience members at T-Pain’s Las Vegas show were certainly enjoying watching him get down to the bouncy track. In fact, one fan claims that “It was lit last night, played kdot song about 5x lol.” Another user agrees that it was “lit,” saying, “he was hittin that s*** tho😂

This was just the second tour stop for T-Pain last night. For those who do not know, the legend is in the beginning stages of his Mansion In Wiscansin Party Tour. According to Substream Magazine, this set of shows was named after the famous lyrics in the 2008 hit “Can’t Believe It”. It began on May 25 and it will run through July 3 in Miami. However, things will not be slowing after this solo trek. He will be joining Pitbull for the Party After Dark Tour starting on August 21.

What are your thoughts on T-Pain dancing to “Not Like Us” at his recent show? Do you think he is siding with Kendrick Lamar over Drake? Is this still the best song from the beef, why or why not? Do you believe it is being played to shower more hate on Drizzy, or because it is popular? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Kendrick Lamar Breaks Yet Another Drake Spotify Streaming Record With “Not Like Us”

You probably already heard of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” breaking Drake’s “God’s Plan” record for the fastest rap song ever to garner over 100 million Spotify plays. As such, maybe it’s not that surprising that K.Dot broke this exact record, but for 200 million Spotify streams this time in just 19 days. Of course, numbers don’t mean much in the actual battle, but many predicted that the Toronto superstar would at least outperform his Compton rival commercially. If nothing else, it’s just very impressive to see, and regardless of “Not Like Us” getting all the attention, every song in this whole beef did wild numbers that both artists should be very happy with.

After all, it’s not every day that a surprise feature on a Future and Metro Boomin project leads to you making three new songs that generate revenue, if we’re excluding the IG-exclusive and since-removed “Taylor Made Freestyle.” This also comes as fans continue to either boast about Kendrick Lamar’s perceived victory or defend Drake against the haters. As for the former category, some overzealous Stans played “Not Like Us” at an OVO store recently. Regardless of who you think “won” this exchange, biased meat-riders definitely took an L on both sides.

Kendrick Lamar Breaks Another Drake Record On Spotify

Also, this new record-breaking moment comes as Drake made his return to new music after the Kendrick Lamar battle settled down. Still, he kept the story going, as he partially rapped over Metro Boomin’s “BBL Drizzy” diss beat on Sexyy Red’s “U My Everything” off of her new project, In Sexyy We Trust. Obviously, this evoked one of Mr. Morale’s lines off of “Euphoria”: “When I see you stand by Sexyy Red, I believe you see two bad b***es.” If a “bad b***h” churns out hits and carefree verses for cash, that doesn’t sound so bad.

Jokes aside, the jury’s still out on whether this feature helps Drake recenter in the long run or if it just makes him look more goofy. No matter the case, Kendrick Lamar is still dominating with “Not Like Us,” and the hip-hop world is still hotly discussing the feud. Down the line, we’ll get to the point where everyone’s over it. But according to Spotify streams, it is not this day.

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Rakes In $317K From Streaming In A Week

Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss “Not Like Us” continues to see major success, quickly becoming a fan favorite after dropping earlier this month. Arguably the most successful track of their entire lyrical battle, “Not Like Us” sees Kendrick accuse Drake of being a pedophile, coin his iconic “A minor” bar, and much more. Its significance in the viral beef has translated into streams and sales too. It broke multiple records in the weeks following its release.

“Not Like Us” debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in just five days of tracking. It also moved a million units in only 12 days. It was the fastest song to do so this year, coming in ahead of hits from the likes of megastars like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and more. Of course, this has left fans curious just how much cash Kendrick has been able to earn with the song.

Kendrick Lamar’s Drake Diss Continues To See Sucess

Reportedly, it generated roughly $280K in its first week and broke Drake’s record for most streams in 24 hours. The song continues to excel commercially, raking in $317K from streams alone this week, according to a new Tweet from DJ Akademiks. It’s now the second-highest-grossing song of the week. Aside from providing K-Dot with a sizable chunk of change, “Not Like Us” has also become synonymous with his explosive feud with Drake, something fans will associate with both of them for years to come.

The song has been co-signed by several of Kendrick’s high-profile peers too, including Billie Eilish, Isaiah Rashad, and more. It even inspired DaBaby to show off some of his own writing skills this week, as he delivered a praise-worthy freestyle over the track. What do you think of Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss “Not Like Us” continuing to rake in earnings? What about it being the second-highest-grossing song this week? Are you surprised, or not? Isaiah Rashad Concludes Recent Show By Playing “Not Like Us”

The Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef that erupted last month left many in the rap world picking sides. Unsurprisingly, many from the Top Dawg Entertainment, Kendrick’s former label, have taken his side unequivocally. That’s included ScHoolboy Q who has been on a media blitz in recent months following the release of his first new album in 5 years. It also includes Isaiah Rashad who just worked one of Kendrick’s most notable diss tracks into a recent live show.

“Not Like Us” debuted at number one on the Hot 100 with just 5 days of tracking in its first week. It currently sits at number 2 on the chart after slipping under the debut of Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s new collaboration “I Had Some Help.” Clearly fans are pretty familiar with the song and most are pretty big fans of it. That’s why the entire crowd was bumping alongside Rashad and his posse on-stage during a recent show in Houston. In fact, he closed his entire set out by bumping the song for the hyped crowd. Check out a video of the performance below.

Isaiah Rashad Plays “Not Like Us” For A Hyped Crowd

It was during one of Isaiah Rashad’s shows earlier this year that Top Dawg Entertainment made a big announcement. They circulated a flyer claiming that nearly every single artist on their roster and even a few new ones would be dropping new projects this year. Records from ScHoolboy Q and SiR have already arrived and fans are highly anticipating who is next. Rashad’s last new album The House Is Burning dropped back in 2021 and like many other artists on the label he’s been on a bit of a break since then. That hasn’t stopped him from making multiple guest appearances on other records already this year though.

What do you think of Isaiah Rashad playing “Not Like Us” for a crowd in Houston? Do you think the track will continue to stay such a big hit even after the beef has completely faded from rap discussions? Let us know in the comment section below.

DaBaby Channels Kendrick Lamar On New “Not Like Us” Freestyle

In recent months, fans have seen DaBaby rap over just about anything, from Sexyy Red to Future. They’ve taken a liking to the hitmaker’s fiery freestyles, praising him for his delivery, writing skills, and more. Now, the North Carolina MC has unleashed yet another one, this time spitting along to Kendrick Lamar’s infamous Drake diss, “Not Like Us.”

DaBaby unveiled the track today alongside a fun accompanying music video, which sees him cruising around with the windows down, dancing in his bathroom, and more. Once again, listeners are impressed, and sounding off in his Instagram comments section about his quick bars. Some even think he might have Kendrick beat, though that’s still up for debate.

DaBaby Pops Out With Yet Another Freestyle

DaBaby also urged fans to leave some suggestions for his next freestyle in his comments section, prompting demands for him to rap over more tracks from Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s feud. “Family Matters” is a top pick, while others think he should give Metro Boomin’s “BBL Drizzy” beat a go. He already offered fans his take on the song that caused the beef to take off, “Like That,” in April.

Of course, many supporters are also encouraging him to drop something entirely new. Luckily for them, they shouldn’t have to wait too much longer for that. Recently, DaBaby announced that he has a new album on the way, though he’s yet to confirm an official release date. To give fans a taste of what’s to come, he released three tracks earlier this month, dubbing the project GHETTO SUPERSTAR: (THE INTRO). He delivered “DONE TRYING” and “GHETTO SUPERSTAR FREESTYLE,” as well as a collab with Skilla Baby, “JUDY.” Are you a fan of DaBaby’s new “Not Like Us” freestyle? Doechii Performs Mash-Up Of Her Hit “Persuasive” And Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”

Though the beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake is likely over, the impact of their brief spat it likely to be felt for quite a while. One of the big reasons why is Kendrick’s final release in their back-and-forth, the DJ Mustard-produced “Not Like Us.” Instead of some of the more serious tracks that spawned from their beef, “Not Like Us” is a banger that fans latched onto immediately. The song soared to a number one debut on the Hot 100 with just 5 days tracking. This week it sits at the number two spot behind only Morgan Wallen and Post Malone’s new collaboration which debuted at number one.

Someone who seems to be a particular big fan “Not Like Us” is Kendrick’s former Top Dawg Entertainment label mate Doechii. During a recent performance she interpolated the song into one of her biggest hits. The success of her track “Persuasive” served as a massive leaping off point for her back in 2022. In particular, the track’s remix featuring SZA became a major fan favorite. Now she’s once again making additions to the track as she delivered lyrics from “Not Like Us” during her performance of it at a recent show. Check out the clip of her live mash-up below.

Doechii Interpolates Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”

Earlier this year, a list of Top Dawg Entertainment artists expected to release a new album in 2024 made the rounds online. Included on the list was Doechii who has already begun teasing a potential new project. Most notably, she dropped the single “Alter Ego” which features JT of City Girls on it. The hard-hitting cut has racked up more than 8 million streams on Spotify since it first dropped last month.

What do you think of Doechii mashing up her song “Persuasive” with Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us?” Are you looking forward to the new album from the R&B songstress promised by TDE earlier this year? Let us know in the comment section below.
