[WATCH] Nicki Minaj Teases “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” Video

Nicki Minaj is getting ready to invite the Barbz into the visual world of “Red Ruby Da Sleeze.”

Hitting social media, Minaj shared a teaser, bringing her to an oceanfront in a bathing suit and swimsuit. The video was filmed during Minaj’s trip to Trinidad and Tobago for Carnival.

According to Billboard, “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” made a No. 13 debut on the Billboard Hot 100.

Nicki Minaj recently announced her new record label. Early details reveal Paddy Duke will be the first A&R on the label and will be genre-spanning. The label’s name hasn’t been announced yet, but Minaj did reveal the inspiration, Lil Wayne.

“When I came in this game I didn’t have no paperwork with Lil Wayne,” Minaj said. “But he had us on tour, he had us in a studio, he was getting on my mixtapes. So I understand the importance of having somebody else doing the heavy lifting for you. I understand why people are coming out and they’re so, you know, microwaveable and they’re here today and gone tomorrow, because there’s no structure. There’s no real person that believes in them. That’s like, ‘nah, I’m gonna make it my business to see you shine’. That’s why I never wanted to do a label before because I said to myself …unless I’m ready to really put these artists on I’m not gonna ruin anyone’s life.”

So far, she’s signed Tate Kobang, Nana Fofie, Rico Danna, and London Hill to the imprint, though it seems like she’s holding out until they make their official debut. Nicki began revving up for the release of “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” during her trip to Trinidad for Carnival. During her stay, she performed for her fans and even shared some teaser footage to promote her latest record. However, it appears that she used her time in Trinidad to film the music video in its entirety. Nick took to Instagram where she shared a snippet of the video where she looks absolutely stunning as she overlooks the seaside at a luxurious estate.

At this point, Nicki Minaj hasn’t confirmed a release date for the music video. However, it could come sometime soon and perhaps, propel the song higher on the Billboard Hot 100. “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” already made a mark on the charts as it debuted at #13. Nicki Minaj Made History With Her Song ‘Blick Blick’

Looking back through her musicology, however, her 2022 milestone must be acknowledged when her song “Blick Blick” topped the iTunes chart, making her the rapper with the most No. 1 songs in the history of US iTunes, a title Nicki Minaj seized by elbowing Drake aside. The candy-striped video featured her in her many wings as she dueted with Coi Leray, proving that she can more than hold her own in a male-dominated genre. It is worth noting that this song peaked at number one within hours of its release.

Thus far, Nicki Minaj has had 16 #1 hits on iTunes, from “Hot Girl Summer” to “Anaconda” to “Move Ya Hips”, proving her status as the ultimate GOAT in the art of Hip-Hop domination. However, it was “Super Freaky Girl” that debuted at the top of the Billboard charts on August 22, 2022, marking her third No. 1 overall and her first as an unaccompanied artist. It was also a score as it made her only the second hip-hop female artist to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 since Lauryn Hill in 1998. The song was her first release in 3 years, and it titillated fans by sampling Rick James’ 1981 “Super Freak”. “Btchs slow so I gih dem a pass. [fire emoji] Nah. Grah! No more passes Princess…Let’s go,” Nicki wrote, evoking injury from Spice’s “Princess Diana.”

If that wasn’t enough, Ice Spice recieved love on Twitter as well, “Gag. The People’s PRINCESS [crown emoji]. catch it!!!”

Nicki Minaj And Ice Spice Showed Each Other Love On Social Media, But Fans Don’t Know How Long It’ll Last

It looks like Nicki MInaj has a new favorite hip-hop it-girl in Ice Spice. The two rappers showed each other love recently, with Ice Spice gushing about loving Nicki growing up in a cover story for Dazed and Nicki following suit with a follow on Twitter. Nicki also commented on one of Ice Spice’s recent Instagram posts, co-signing her “Princess” status. “No more passes Princess,” she wrote. “Let’s go.”

However, some fans are skeptical about all of Nicki’s love-bombing, considering how quickly she turned on a number of other female rappers shortly after working with them. The Queens rapper recently sent shade at Latto, sparking a back and forth stemming from the two rappers’ Grammy categories that blew up into a full-fledged Twitter beef that saw Nicki calling Latto a “Karen” and Latto calling out Nicki for being a “bully.”

And who could forget how Nicki’s relationship with new-girl-on-the-block Cardi B deteriorated in 2018 after they previously shared verses on Migos’ “Motorsport.” That disagreement eventually led to a physical altercation that year, followed by a cold war — complete with proxy combatants — that has persisted ever since, prodded along faithfully by the more toxic members of their respective fanbases.

Naturally, this has led to some skepticism of Nicki’s show of support for Ice Spice, with some fans predicting “she’ll drop a song in 3 months saying sum f*ck ass sh*t like ‘i don’t f*ck with no ICEd Tea, hate a cocky bitch who wanna be SPICEy, knowing damn well I’m Icy,’” as one put it. Others wrote things like, “This is like watching your girlfriend enter into a toxic relationship, and you don’t know how to stop or slow the trajectory,” and wondering, “How long we wanna give it until the discard?” The overwhelming sentiment appears to be that Nicki has become a bit of a “mean girl” like that film’s titular Queen Bee Regina George and that her affection is equally fickle. Hopefully, that won’t turn out to be the case but those pesky Barbz will probably end up giving her a hard time either way.

Nicki Minaj recently liked some tweets about her record label potentially signing Ice Spice, which sent fans in a frenzy. Of course, they already lit the Internet on fire after Nicki cosigned Ice on social media. Well, the real thing that set people off was Minaj following Spice back on Instagram and also taking to both IG and Twitter to praise the “Munch” hitmaker. For example, upon seeing Spice’s cover story for DAZED, she had a message for her on Twitter. “Gag. The People’s PRINCESS [crown emoji]. catch it!!!” Then, people noticed that she liked some tweets that read “ice spice getting signed to nicki’s label!”, “now when they announced that ice spice is signed to Nicki Minaj’s record label>>>>>,” among other cosigns.

Moreover, this would be a huge move for both artists. On one hand, getting such a huge cosign from the 40-year-old would be a huge moment for Spice and establish her career longevity. After all, Nicki’s been one of the most dominant artists in the game for over a decade now. On the other hand, Minaj’s newly formed record label could get a huge boost if it manages to nab one of the most buzzed-about and successful rising artists of the moment.

Regardless, fans of both artists and beyond absolutely lost their minds online. What’s more is that their back and forth praise and interactions led many to anticipate a remix or collab of some sort on the way. Right now, it seems like a popular prediction is a remix of “Princess Diana.” Overall, fans can’t wait to see if this is just a sweet moment for the two or a legit promotional rollout for something down the line.

The Bronx rapper undoubtedly won over the masses in the past six months. And while Nicki has remained rather quiet when it comes to Spice, she finally acknowledged the “Princess Diana” rapper.

This weekend, fans noticed that Nicki Minaj finally followed Ice Spice. Not only did Nicki follow the Bronx Baddie but she slipped into the comment section of Ice’s latest post, which she captioned “thick cus I be eatin oats.” Apparently, Nicki’s also a big fan of Ice Spice like the rest of us. She finished the lyric in the comments, writing, “Btchs slow so I gif dem a pass. [fire emoji] Nah. Grah!” She added, “No more passes Princess… Let’s go!” So, it seems as though a collaboration could be on the way.

Twitter quickly dug up old tweets where Ice Spice appeared to manifest her follow from Nicki Minaj. On Nov. 18th, 2020, she tweeted, “OMG NICKI JUST FOLLOWED ME AGHHHHH!!!” In a subsequent tweet, she clarified that she was just “practicing” for the moment that it happens. Given that Nicki not only followed her but quoted her bars seems like a sign that perhaps, Nicki could be jumping on the “Princess Diana” remix. It wouldn’t be surprising since Nicki’s also preparing to drop her next studio album soon with “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” kicking off the campaign.

Nicki’s acknowledgment of Ice Spice got fans both excited and concerned. One fan wrote, “ik ice spice gon fcking GAG when she sees a nicki follow and reply came her way.” However, others felt as though this could lead to some sort of feud down the line. “Nicki Minaj has crowned Ice Spice the Princess of Rap. After earning her first Billboard Hot 100 chart placements — thanks to the singles “Gangsta Boo” featuring Lil Tjay at No. 82 and “Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2” with PinkPantheress currently at No. 4 — Ice Spice power of manifestation is hard at work. Another thing she manifested was grabbing the attention of rap legend Nicki Minaj.

Back in 2020, Ice Spice tweeted, “Omg, Nicki just followed me agh,” before following up to letting it be clear, it hadn’t happened yet, writing, “practicing.”

However, it didn’t take long before Nicki Minaj actually followed her. Shocked by the moment, yesterday (March 12), Ice Spice returned to the initial post, quote tweeting to write, “omg,” to confirm Minaj has indeed followed her on Instagram.

A follow from Nicki Minaj is quite rare indeed. In fact, Minaj is known for using social media to only connect with her extreme Barb fans. To this day, Minaj only follows a handful of fellow rappers, including JT and Yung Miami of the City Girls, Bia, Katie Got Bands, and a few others.
