Why Do Megan Thee Stallion And Nicki Minaj Have Beef?

Fresh off of the release of her new single “Hiss,” it is abundantly clear that Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj aren’t particularly fond of each other. But it wasn’t always like that. Before the top-tier rap women were lyrically at each other’s throats, they publicly sang the praises of one another.

In 2019, the pair even collaborated on Megan’s smash song “Hot Girl Summer.” After their nasty back-and-forth, it’s highly unlikely that the two will ever appear on a track together. But why did things go sour?

Why Do Megan Thee Stallion And Nicki Minaj Have Beef?

The answer will vary depending on which fan base (the Hotties or the Barbz) you ask. On “Hiss,” Megan says she has no idea why they fell out. However, in 2022, Nicki gave her account of the tear in their relationship during an episode of Queens Radio show on AMP. Nicki alleged that a woman rapper encouraged her to consume alcohol, but she refused because she was pregnant. The rapper then suggested she’d get an abortion so that she could truly enjoy herself.

Although Nicki did name Megan, that didn’t stop her fans from accusing her of the vile act. However, after getting wind of the rumor, Megan took to X (formerly Twitter) to deny the claims.

Others have speculated that Megan and Nicki’s beef has much pettier roots. Given Nicki’s rocky history with Cardi B, users online feel that tension began to brew when Megan jumped on Cardi’s 2020 track “WAP.” The beginning is fuzzy. But after Nicki poked fun at Megan being shot by Tory Lanez and, in return, Megan’s dig at Nicki’s husband Kenneth Petty’s sex offender status, things aren’t going to end anytime soon.

The girls are fighting: Megan Thee Stallion’s appearance on the Mean Girls soundtrack has reignited the fiery side of the rapper. On her latest single, “Hiss,” she’s officially taken the gloves off. While Megan has attempted to stay far away from conflict, her detractors don’t have that same sense of peace; thus, a music beef has been brought to the forefront.

On the record, co-produced by LilJuMadeDaBeat, Bankroll Got It, and Shawn “Source” Jarrett, Megan is done playing nice with former friend Nicki Minaj.

What Did Megan Thee Stallion Say About Nicki Minaj On ‘Hiss?’

Well, nearly the end of the song’s first verse, Megan takes an apparent jab at Nicki’s husband Kenneth Petty’s legal matters. “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law,” raps Megan, referring to Petty’s past sexual assault allegations and failure to register as a sex offender in the state of California. “I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start / B*tch, you a p*ssy, never finna check me / Every chance you get, bet your weak ass won’t address me / B*tches swear they G, but the G must stand for goofy.”

Shortly after the record was released, Nicki took to Instagram Live to preview a snippet of her response diss track.

But apparently, Nicki isn’t the only person Megan turns her pen on. Fans believe the record contains a slew of sharp jabs aimed at her ex-boyfriend Pardi, Drake, and even DaBaby.

Nicki Minaj’s ‘Red Ruby Da Sleeze’ Video Is Sexy, Self-Assured, And Simple Introduction Of The Rapper’s New Alter Ego

The video for Nicki Minaj‘s new single “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” dropped on Mother’s Day eve. Filmed on her homeland of Trinidad and Tobago, it finds Minaj flexing comfortably as her confidence in her bars and beauty shines through. Sporting nearly half a dozen designer looks while relaxing between 2023 Carnival festivities, the musician takes in the tranquility offered by the country’s oceanside as her brash lyrics create an enticing juxtapose energy.

Minaj has proven that she can effortlessly dapple in pop music — see her latest feature with Kim Petras — but her roots are firmly planted in slick-talking rap tracks.

“Who the f*ck told bitches they was me now / I knew these b*tches was slow / I ain’t know these b*tches senile / Married a shooter case you N***** tried to breathe loud / Boom your face off then I tell him cease-fire/I’m the A, B side,” raps Minaj.

But that isn’t the only standout lines that caught fans’ ears. The lines “700 on them horses when we fixing to leave / But I’on fuck with horses since Christopher Reeves” and “Dorito b*tches / Mad that they nachos (not chose),” sparked rumors that she and another emcee is involved in a silent feud.

Co-produced by Go Grizzly and Cheeze Beatz, the track ushered in Minaj’s fierce new music persona. The song was initially released on March 3, with a teaser video clip dropped soon after. She even debuted the track live at Rolling Loud Los Angeles. Now the full video is finally here. You can watch it above.

Nicki Minaj’s “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” Visual Has The Barbz Praising Her On Twitter

Few fanbases ride for their favourite artists the way The Barbz do for Nicki Minaj. On Saturday (May 13), the Trinidadian finally unleashed the visual for her “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” single from earlier this year, for which she linked up with reality starlet Brooke Bailey. In her usual fashion, Minaj rocks plenty of outfit changes throughout the footage and certainly didn’t hesitate to bring her usual confidence and attitude.

Shortly after premiering the highly anticipated music video, the Queen of Rap turned to Twitter to read some fan reactions. “What’s your favourite thing about the #RedRubyVideo y’all?” she asked followers to weigh in last night. “And I’m doing a Q&A using the hashtags. Watch it on YouTube RIGHT NOW then come back here to holla @ me.” As per usual, The Barbz were quick to follow Minaj’s instructions, showing her standout parts from the “Red Ruby” video while also asking questions about upcoming projects and her personal life.

Nicki Unleashes “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” Music Video

It seems that many social media users noticed the same details in the “Red Ruby” visual, such as Minaj and Bailey’s expert synchronization, as well as the former’s ability to talk down a busy city street without being recognized. Elsewhere, several others made note of the 40-year-old’s body, which is looking slim thicker than ever before.

It’s been a busy year for Nicki already, but that doesn’t mean she’s looking to slow down. Aside from her own throwback-sampling solo release, we’ve also heard her connect with Kim Petras, Ice Spice, and NBA YoungBoy so far in 2023. On top of that, the lyricist has been hinting at an upcoming album, as well as a tour that’s sure to rival Beyoncé’s ongoing RENAISSANCE venture.

Nicki Minaj Flexes Her Curves & Much More In “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” Music Video

Nicki Minaj has been on a crazy hot streak with her singles and collaborations this year, and can we really expect any less from the Queen? Regardless of your take on her new releases, they’ve all built an incredible amount of hype for her next long-form release. Moreover, she just released the music video for one of her standout singles as of late, “Red Ruby Da Sleeze.” With it, the Trinidadian-born rapper kept things simple yet sweet, with lavish shots of her figure in various outfits, her luxury cars, and immaculate vacation vibes. In fact, if you’ve followed her social media presence as of late, the video has various callbacks to previous posts.

For example, Brooke Bailey appeared alongside Nicki Minaj in these visuals, which makes her post about their link-up make so much more sense. Also, her outfits correspond to a couple of her Instagram thirst traps, which already had fans giving her flowers. Ultimately, the music video is not as high-budget or conceptual as some of her recent work. However, the loose yet aesthetically pleasing approach fits the 40-year-old’s direct bars and attitude quite well.

Nicki Minaj Asks Fans About The “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” Music Video

Furthermore, this also continues a music video streak for the “Super Freaky Girl” lyricist. Recently, she teamed up with Kim Petras for visuals to their single “Alone,” which was praised as a huge moment for Petras and a refreshing collaboration for Nicki Minaj. In addition, she teamed up for what might be one of the most anticipated and praised remix collaborations of the year. Alongside the arguable Princess of Rap, Ice Spice, they wowed fans with their music video for the “Princess Diana” remix, which came after much teasing.

Meanwhile, it’s clear that Nicki isn’t slowing down her roll anytime soon. Recently, she proclaimed that her new album will be the best of 2023 and teased a tour, as well. With that in mind, we should be getting ready for a whole lot more from the star in the coming weeks. Maybe the project will land for the summer season, or will be a welcome source of heat towards the end of the year. No matter when it drops, the precedent is set for a killer return to album territory. Nicki Minaj Shows Off Curves In “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” Music Video Snippet

Nicki Minaj is fresh off of the release of her latest single, “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” which undoubtedly marked the return of the Queen of Rap. Though 2022 produced a handful of singles, including her first solo chart-topping record, “Super Freaky Girl,” she was warming up to come through strong. Her latest single evidently proved that she was returning to the fold for good with a follow-up to Queen expected to arrive in the near future.

Nicki’s getting things in order before she comes through with her next album. At the time she released the single, she also confirmed that she was launching her own record label. So far, she’s signed Tate Kobang, Nana Fofie, Rico Danna, and London Hill to the imprint, though it seems like she’s holding out until they make their official debut. Still, everything is in place for Nicki to come through and take control of the summer.

Nicki Minaj Previews “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” Music Video

Nicki began revving up for the release of “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” during her trip to Trinidad for Carnival. During her stay, she performed for her fans and even shared some teaser footage to promote her latest record. However, it appears that she used her time in Trinidad to film the music video in its entirety. Nick took to Instagram where she shared a snippet of the video where she looks absolutely stunning as she overlooks the seaside at a luxurious estate.

At this point, Nicki Minaj hasn’t confirmed a release date for the music video. However, it could come sometime soon and perhaps, propel the song higher on the Billboard Hot 100. “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” already made a mark on the charts as it debuted at #13. Additionally, Nicki Minaj tied Drake for the third most #1 songs in U.S. Digital Song Sales with the success of “Red Ruby Da Sleeze.” Maybe, the Lumidee-sampling single helps Nicki secure her second solo #1 on the Hot 100. Check out the preview of Nicki Minaj’s upcoming music video for “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments. Nicki Minaj Earns High Praise For “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” Bars: Twitter Reacts

The Barbz have enthusiastically waited for Nicki Minaj’s 2023 return. After nearly five years since Queen dropped, much has happened in Nicki’s life. For one, she’s a mother and a wife and those factors have undoubtedly played a role in her creativity. For example, she previously revealed that she turned down an appearance on Gunna’s “p power” due to her explicit nature. However, the absence of hyper-sexualized bars hasn’t compromised the potency of Nicki’s pen in any way.

This week, the singer slid through with her first official release of the year, “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” and she didn’t disappoint. With an iconic Lumidee sample to back her, Nicki’s slides like butter and delivers an incredible performance that proves her pen isn’t one to f*ck with. It’s not shocking, especially after her claims on Instagram the day prior. “Ghost writers all around the world are scrambling,” she wrote. “Nicki still on hiatus. This b!@ch right here tho? She outside.”

Lumidee & Saucy Santana On Nicki Minaj Single

The release of “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” marked a triumphant return for Nicki Minaj following the success of last year’s “Super Freaky Girl.” The Rick James-sampling single became Nicki’s first #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 but it seems like she might do it again with her latest release. Immediately after it dropped, fans rejoiced at Nick’s return, especially with her wordplay and fierce delivery across the record. Once again, Nicki proved that she deserved her spot as the greatest female rapper of all time on Billboard and Vibe’s viral list.

Lumidee, whose hit record “Never Leave You (Uh Oooh Uh Oooh)” is used on the song, praised the way Nicki flipped the song. “20 years strong,” she wrote. “Queen sh*t.” Saucy Santana also shared a positive reaction to the single on Instagram live. “One thing about Nicki Minaj, you have to listen to the song 10x ‘cause of the bars,” he said. “That’s why she’s so ill.” Evidently, the response from Lumidee and Saucy Santana is similar to the general public who rejoiced at Nicki’s return to the limelight.

Nicki Minaj Delivers Heat In “Red Ruby Da Sleeze”: Stream

The Queen is back with her first track of 2023. Nicki Minaj just dropped “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” Friday (March 3), marking her first single since “Super Freaky Girls.” Her 2022 release earned the Trinidadian rapper her first Hot 100 No. 1 as a solo artist. “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” which effortlessly pulls in a sample from “Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh)” by Lumidee, continues to prove the 40-year-old’s reign as a dominating lyricist.

Just a week ago, Minaj touched down in her home country in celebration of the 2023 Trinidad and Tobago Carnival (if you haven’t seen her epic costume this year, be sure to check it out). The trip marked the rapper’s first return since her 2020 performance at the Carnival, and she wasn’t shy of showing her IG followers what a great time she was having.

Minaj Drops A New Track And Revives “Queen Radio” All In One Day

While partying it up with the festivities, she previewed “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” on her Instagram. The impromptu announcement of the song took place while Minaj was repping iconic two-toned pink buns, and showed her at a party rapping to the lyrics. “Only on them C’s if it’s breeze / Red Ruby Da Sleeze, Chinese on my sleeve / These wannabe Chun-Li’s, anyway (Nǐ Hǎo),” she raps. Defending her throne, she adds in “who the fuck told bitches they was me now? / I knew these bitches was slow, I ain’t know these bitches senile.”

Minaj also dropped incredible news for Barbz last month, announcing the return of her Apple Music show, Queen Radio. While posing in a gorgeous pinstripe bikini (likely from her trip to the Caribbean), she took to Instagram to disclose that the release date of the revival would also be Friday (March 3). Gracing listeners with both a fire new track and the continuation of Queen Radio, Minaj has shown that she’s not done adding to her legacy yet. Nicki Minaj Teases A New Club-Ready Song In A Video Full Of Twerking

Nicki Minaj is having a good year. Last month, she kicked off 2023 by becoming the female rapper with the most consecutive years charting a single on the Hot 100. She then broke another milestone by becoming the first female rapper to surpass 28 billion streams on Spotify.

Now, it looks like she’s gearing up to share new music. She shared a video on Instagram that previews a new song. It’s playing in a club and Minaj — with her half-red, half-pink hair and thick shades — mouths along to the flow while people around her dance and twerk. The caption reads: “#RedRubyDaSleeze 3/3.”

Minaj has been otherwise quiet on social media, aside from congratulating Rihanna. “A lil pretty boy already,” she commented on Rihanna’s post. “Congratulations on the new bundle of, joy, Queen. Bodied the Super Bowl.”

In November, the “Super Bass” singer teamed up with Maluma and Myriam Fares for “Tukoh Taka,” the official FIFA World Cup anthem. “I am so happy to be part of this FIFA World Cup anthem!” Maluma said in a statement. “I always dreamt of an opportunity like this. Representing Latin music on this global track alongside amazing artists that sing in English and Arabic, takes our culture to another level.”
