Doja Cat is gearing up to drop her brand-new album Scarlet on September 22nd. Overall, she is going to be at war with Drake. For All The Dogs is coming out on the same day, and it will be difficult for Doja to make up any ground on the man. At this point, Drizzy is expected to sell upwards of 750K units in the first week. Meanwhile, Doja Cat can probably max out at around 200K. Regardless, this new project promises to bring forth a whole new direction, and fans are curious as to how this album will play out.

Recently, the artist gave us the song “Demons,” which was definitely a change of pace. In the eyes of a lot of fans, this song felt like something Baby Keem would do. Sure, the song was different for Doja, although some did feel like it wasn’t unique. Today, she decided to drop another single, this time called “Balut.” In this new song, Doja goes for a more lowkey approach where she is given the breathing room to spit more bars and take her time dissecting her enemies.

Doja Cat Spits Bars

Interestingly enough, the drums and the piano lines throughout this song give us an ethereal sonic aesthetic. Immediately, it sounds like something Griselda would have been doing in 2019. However, Doja Cat does a great job rapping over this production. It goes to show that she is incredibly talented and versatile. That said, some may make the argument that this is something we have heard before, but just from a different artist.

Recently, however, Carti got to celebrate his birthday at a club, surrounded by friends and perhaps even some fans. During this birthday bash, Carti decided to tease some brand-new music. Furthermore, Playboi Carti also came through with a snippet of a new Lil Uzi Vert track. He and Uzi have teased a collaborative album in the past. However, that album never came. As for songs, they have done tracks like “Shoota” and “Wokeuplikethis.” That said, it has been a wild since we have heard these two artists on a track together. Last night, the Canadian megastar shocked fans on social media by revealing who will be on his single this Friday. As it turns out, none other than SZA will be on the track. Majid Jordan And Naomi Sharon Create Vocal Symphony On “Waiting For You”

Toronto’s own R&B heaven-sent duo of singer Majid Al Maskati and producer Jordan Ullman are back with a new single for 2023. In fact, this is their first solo release since 2021, when they released their last full-length studio effort, Wildest Dreams. That project featured some heavy hitters such as Swae Lee, Drake, and Diddy. Majid Jordan had some wonderful and whimsical tracks such as “Waves of Blue,” “Summer Rain,” and “Stars Align” with their label head, Drake. Unfortunately, the duo has remained fairly dormant.

We say fairly because there have been some songs remixed featuring the two Canadians in the past year or so. But, no solo material in over two years. But, now they are finally making a little return to the R&B space with this just-dropped track called, “Waiting For You.” They are not alone on this cut, however, as Naomi Sharon makes an appearance here as well.

Offset Teases Heartfelt New Single “Fan”

Back in July, Offset dropped his new single “JEALOUSY.“ The track saw him teaming up with his wife, Cardi B, for a funny and hard-hitting collaboration playing on some of the public perceptions of their relationship. He said in a later interview that the song would serve as the lead single for an upcoming album he has planned for later this year. Now, he seems to be taking another step toward that project.

In a short Instagram clip posted today, the former Migos rapper teases the release of his next song and video. “FAN!!!! 9/15” the caption reads, confirming that the new track will be dropping later this week. In the short video, he also plays a brief clip of the song. With lyrics like “Tired of stressing bout what I can’t control,” and a more somber instrumental it seems like Offset will be getting heartfelt and reflective on this one. Offset’s New Song Is On The Way

Recently, Offset has found a surprising ally in streamer Kai Cenat. When Kai was arrested for inciting a riot in New York over an ill-planned giveaway he held, the rapper came to his defense. Later the pair got on a stream together where Kai asked for some help to shoot his shot with SZA. Even though they both liked the approach they came up with, ultimately it didn’t work and he ended up getting blocked by the R&B darling.

One thing that has pervaded much of Offset’s recent promotional material is references to Michael Jackson. That has come in a few different ways, starting with his fashion. Since at least Paris Fashion Week earlier this year he’s popped up numerous times in fits that feel analogous to the King Of Pop. Despot may not be an extremely household name, but he is a veteran in the New York underground and has been for quite some time. Vic Mensa Releases Another Lead Single Ahead Of “Victor” With “LVLN UP”

One of the many talents out of Chicago, VIC MENSA, is back once again with his second single. In particular, it is the next track to be featured on his next studio album, Victor, which comes out September 15. This is a big deal for the rapper and singer because, shockingly, this will only be his second solo album. It is crazy to think about that, considering the fact that VIC is a veteran in the rap game at this point.

He has plenty of projects out, but they are almost all EPs. In 2021 and 2020 the I TAPE and V TAPE were both just a few tracks long. 93PUNX, while that is an album, was a collaboration record with the band 93PUNX. Hooligans, released in 2018, a year after his debut project, The Autobiography, is just eight tracks. Finally, in 2016 his first effort was also an EP called There’s Alot Going On.
