Wiz Khalifa Tries His Hand At Sexy Drill With “Baby Girl On The Way”

Wiz Khalifa is now a father of a baby girl after his current boo, Aimee Aguilar, delivered their first child together on July 17. Her name is Kaydence and its Aguilar’s one and only kid. The couple was pretty secretive about the pregnancy, but the world knows, and people are extremely happy for them. Fatherhood is something that North Dakota born MC has been working through ever since Sebastian was born, him and Amber Rose’s now adolescent boy. But he seems to be more and more comfortable being someone that a younger person could look up to. We say that because Wiz Khalifa is celebrating that very duty on “Baby Girl On The Way”.

This a new single that was conjured up with the assistance of longtime collaborator and producer, Lex Luger. “What we gon’ do with this bag? I’m thinking nursery / I’m tryna give you love, make sure our kids related“, Wiz raps on his lone verse. The track takes a more raunchy and sexual approach, but it wouldn’t a Khalifa love song if it wasn’t. Aside from the unintentionally funny bars, he does bring solid flow over a sexy-drill inspired instrumental, a trend in the subgenre that is all the craze right now. Besides it being a reference to baby Kaydence, this could be the lead single for Wiz’s upcoming album. It’s something he promised his fans after dropping his mixtape Wiz Owens earlier this week.

People keep saying they proud, like, n****, you wild, we don’t even know the date
Don’t know how to take care of a child, but you gon’ learn today
Ain’t worried ’bout other girls ’cause they be stressin’ me out, your p***y’s the perfect place
Was moving too fast, but with you I slow it down, you make me learn the way
I tell you to get up ’cause we ’bout to get on a jet and “Period, purr” you say

Ice Spice Has Listeners Plugging Their Ears After Dropping “GYAT”

Even though there are a lot of Ice Spice fans coming to her defense, especially over the last seven days, the critics are still quite loud. The New York rapper basically had the entire hip-hop community either groaning or anxiously awaiting the release of her debut album Y2K! It had been relentlessly teased and pushed by the media, essentially billing it to be one of the major tapes for 2024 overall. Sadly, for Spice and her team, many of the reviews have been extremely negative. Many pointed to the fact that its one-dimensional and way too short making it a popcorn project. However, with her still being one of biggest names out, delivering some sort of deluxe on bonus edition was practically inevitable. Well, that is what Ice Spice is doing, dropping potentially the lone track for it, “GYAT”.

Clocking in at just 1:55, “GYAT” raps exactly what you’d expect Ice Spice to rap about, her butt. Making this track even more forgettable is the overly repetitive refrain. “She throwin’ it (Back, back, back)
She throwin’ it (Back, back, that a**) Haters get (Back, back) Haters get (Back, back)
“. Like the original set on Y2K!, the writing is vapid on “GYAT”, but maybe even worse is the lack of energy. She sounds just as uninterested as the listeners are in what she has to say. “Girl just get a ghost writer”, one IG commenter demands. “U lucky u fine asf bra . Yo music so poop”, another adds. Still, give the song a shot and see what you think.

German Producing Collective KITSCHKRIEG Teams Up With Future, Fridayy, & Mariah The Scientist For “Slow Down”

Future has been absolutely everywhere this year. It really seems like he is inserting himself back into the conversation as the best trap artist of all time. He’s on two of the biggest releases of the year with the Metro Boomin tapes WE DON’T TRUST YOU and WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU. However, it seems he is not settling for just two albums. Ever since the latter, he has been teasing a mixtape in the works, one that he’s referring to as Mixtape Pluto. Furthermore, he’s been busy in the feature department as well. The latest is “Slow Down”, which seems his work alongside the German producing team of KITSCHKRIEG.

Additionally, R&B’ers Mariah the Scientist and Fridayy are in the mix. On this record, all three performers are looking to take things one step at a time in each of their new relationships. However, we it comes to Future and love tracks like “Slow Down”, you know he’s not going to take the traditional approach. Per usual, we get a lot of bars about blowing money on scandalous women and having threesomes. Conversely, Mariah and Fridayy are giving a more realistic version of a fresh relationship and not wanting to ruin it. For KITSCHKRIEG, this is their lead single for the upcoming album, German Engineering 2, which is still awaiting a release date.

Polo G Reunites With Lil Durk For “We Uh Shoot” Single Off Upcoming Album

It’s clear that Polo G has been dealing with a lot mentally speaking over the last couple of years. In a recent interview with Kurrco, the Chicago, Illinois native kept it a buck about how superstardom was something he wasn’t really ready for. “I feel like I took a three-year break after being scorching hot”, he began. Later in the talk, he cited that same break was equally as challenging because he loves he what does so much at the same time. “That s*** really f***ed with my mental, a lot”, he added. However, Polo G is officially ready to reinstate himself and remind everyone who he is with “We Uh Shoot”.

This is just one slice of the pie, as the “Martin & Gina” rapper and singer is ending the album drought next Friday. To follow up on 2021’s Hall of Fame, he will finally be delivering the highly teased and awaited HOOD POET. Polo G announced the August 9 release date a couple of days ago on Instagram, along with the stacked feature list that includes Future, GloRilla, 42 Dugg, Offset, Lil Durk, and more. The latter is featured on “We Uh Shoot”, an aggressive gun-toting track. Similarly, Polo G is shelving out a lot of money for this album to sound crisp because Allen Ritter, Southside and TM88 are all credited producers on this single. Give the record a spin with the link below.

Jhene Aiko Receives Helpful “Guidance” In A Relationship Thats Run Its Course

Jhene Aiko possesses some of the most effortlessly soothing and stunning vocal chops of anyone in the R&B/soul genre. Sadly, though, the Los Angeles, California native has not been gracing us with her talents that much over the last few years. Her last studio album, Chilombo, dropped all the way back in 2020. However, if you want, you can count the rerelease of her 2011 debut mixtape Sailing Soul(s) in 2021. Or you could mention the fact that she put together a sleeping soundtrack for babies in 2022. As far as singles go, Aiko has more to offer in that department. In fact, her most recent is “Sun/Son” from January. This has us more and more hopeful that she is nearing a new album. Also helping that is this new Jhene Aiko single, “guidance”.

It comes in the midst of The Magic Hour Tour, with openers including Coi Leray, Tink, Umi, and Kiana Lede. Jhene Aiko is approximately halfway through, as today she will be performing in her hometown. She will wrap things up on August 22 in Columbus, Ohio, so maybe around then a new LP will be upon us. In the meantime, what does “guidance” have to offer. To be honest, it delivers and then some. On this 3:36-long record, Jhene is feeling free after finding the courage to move on from a relationship that is weighing on her. The track’s instrumental is so captivating that she decided to give fans a piano version, just like how she did with “Sun/Son”. Be sure to give each version a spin with the links below.

Boldy James & The Alchemist Stay Hot In 2024 With Reunion On “10 Pints”

We can view mainstream hip-hop artists this year as having a major return to form. Metro Boomin and Future put out two huge albums in a one-month span. Eminem dropped his first album in four years with The Death of Slim Shady. Of course, you cannot talk about rap in 2024 without mentioning the big-time beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. But a side of the genre that seems to always remain consistent is the underground scene. Last year, they carried the superstars for the most part and over these seven months, artists in this space have been successful once again. One of them who is contributing heavily is Boldy James because he’s dropping stuff like “10 Pints” with great regularity.

Both of his projects, Penalty of Leadership and Across The Tracks, are going to be on a lot of publications lists for best albums at the end of the year. Each one featured incredible production as well thanks to the likes of Nicholas Craven and Conductor Williams. While we love these pairings for the Detroit MC, there is another beat master out there who’s an even better match arguably. That would be The Alchemist and he’s on “10 Pints”. This marks their first work together since their 2021 album Super Tecmo Bo.

There’s something about Boldy over a guitar-laced instrumental that just makes sense. The Alchemist conjures that up for him here, and the laid-back MC makes easy work of it. “This s*** hit harder than tar and ten pints of Tris Pharma / So many choppers, got the strip hotter than the Sahara / Clip full of R-I-Ps for n****s wearin’ body armor“. You can stream “10 Pints” on YouTube.

Amine Shows His Love For Charli XCX With “360.5”

In the hip-hop world, we usually dub the sweltering months of the year “hot girl summer” thanks to Megan Thee Stallion. However, in the pop realm, they are dubbing this time as “brat summer”. You can attribute that to English superstar Charli xcx. Her recent album BRAT is one of the strongest records of the year in any genre, as she continues to dominate her field. So many songs off the project are popping off right now such as “Apple”, “Von dutch”, and “365”. But by a wide margin, “360” is leading the way as it has over 110.4 million streams on Spotify. Apparently, Amine is a huge fan of hers, because he is embracing being a brat on his new single “360.5”.

This is essentially a rap remix to it, as the original beat, which is produced by A. G. Cook and Cirkut, is reused here. Additionally, Amine keeps the runtime pretty identical to the 2:11 that Charli utilizes. In typical fashion, he brings a lot of charisma and comedic qualities to the track both through the lyrics and visuals. Speaking of the latter, the Portland, Oregon multi-hyphenate appears to have filmed the music video on his phone from the comfort of his pad he’s staying at in Ischia, Italy. Overall, he shreds the beat, and it makes sense why he hopped a quirky beat like this one.

MGK & Jelly Roll Divulge In Their Tragic Pasts On “Lonely Road”

Jelly Roll and mgk are working together for the first time in their careers on a country rock cut, “Lonely Road”. Both are obviously superstars in their respective genres, so this crossover is something that makes sense from a streaming standpoint. However, more importantly, this combination of talent is a great pairing musically speaking as well. Both are quite often bobbing and weaving in and out of different genres, mgk especially. However, Jelly Roll does too, as he has some rapport with quite a bit of hip-hop artists. According to the Cleveland native, this record is something that has taken a long time to finally release.

About two years, multiple studios, and a handful of countries only were needed for mgk and Jelly Roll to deliver “Lonely Road”. Overall, the single is produced and performed with a lot of emotion. If some of the lyrics sound familiar, it’s because it interpolates the iconic country song by John Denver, “Country Roads, Take Me Home”. Throughout, mgk and Jelly Roll talk about their struggles with addiction and relationships, something that are consistent themes in both artist’s discographies. This record has been doing massive numbers (expectedly), especially on YouTube. It’s currently the number one trending video for music thanks to it suggestion that Megan Fox and mgk could be announcing the expectance of their first child? His partner in crime is wearing a baby bump in the visuals. It fast forwards eight months later to when the kid is born, so maybe we have a big update for real coming soon.

Ravyn Lenae Reflects On Turbulent Relationship With Her Father In Childish Gambino-Assisted, “One Wish”

Ravyn Lenae has shared a new collaboration with Childish Gambino titled, “One Wish,” on which she reflects on her relationship with her father. She kicks things off by singing about her dad not being present during her childhood. Gambino pops up in the third verse to seemingly perform from the perspective of the father. “Tried to go out of my way / But couldn’t find the words to say / Left a message with your mama / Oh, she gave me drama,” he sings. She discussed the release in a statement caught by Hypebeast.

“‘One Wish’ is one of the most important songs on the album because it highlights the complex relationship I’ve had with my Dad,” she explained. “The lyrics remember my 10th birthday and feeling upset that he couldn’t make it. It was important for me to address these built-up emotions in song in order for us to now be on a beautiful path of genuinely learning [about] each other and rekindling. Something valuable I’ve learned is being able to really humanize my loved ones and understand the context around people more deeply. I love you Dad and so happy we’re here.” The release comes as she prepares to drop her second album, Bird’s Eye. Be on the lookout for further updates on Ravyn Lenae as well as Childish Gambino on HotNewHipHop.

Lil Mosey Gets Romantic On New Single “By Yourself”

Lil Mosey has already delivered some hard-hitting singles this year, and now, he’s preparing to unveil a new EP. The project, titled Love U Forever, is currently slated for release on August 9. While that’s only a few days away, the Washington-born performer has decided to give listeners a peek at what’s to come with “By Yourself.” The romantic single arrived on Friday and set the stage for the rest of the eagerly anticipated EP.

On it, Lil Mosey sings about an independent woman who he just can’t get his mind off of, as she’s the “center” of his world. Overall, it’s a laid-back and summer-ready single, which certainly has fans looking forward to hearing what else Lil Mosey has up his sleeve. “By Yourself” follows his last release “Thug Popstar,” which he dropped in April of this year. Before that, he unveiled “Back Down Road,” “One Too Many,” and “Life Goes On” in March.
