Rob49 Hypes Up His Girl On “I Swear To God”

Rob49 has built up a reputation amongst the hip-hop community is someone who’s always bouncing off the walls. Whether it be a single, feature, on a project, the Louisiana native doesn’t know what a break is. Not every rapper needs to be super lyrical to keep the listener’s attention. Sometimes, you just need to be able to craft high octane bangers to stay relevant. In the case of Rob49 that couldn’t be truer. Partially thanks to a feature on “TOPIA TWINS” off Travis Scott’s UTOPIA, more ears were able to hear what he’s been developing while in the shadows.

A lot of people liked what they heard because his monthly listeners have steadily increased over the last year. Now, he’s on a lot of major artist’s projects and his singles are popping off more than ever before. “I Swear To God”, the most recent from him, will assuredly gain traction fast. It’s got a blistering and booming beat that maintains the intensity from start to finish. The bells and dramatic strikes of keys add extra flare and Rob49’s flow’s and adlibs are erratic but in a good way. Throughout the song, he’s gassing up his girl who he dubs “the baddest b**** alive”. With the subject matter, the track is sure to thrive at night clubs across the country.

Boldy James Rocks With Helluva Beats & Antt Beatz For New Single “Super Mario”

Boldy James is busting out his Nintendo gaming consoles for this week’s single, “Super Mario”. This is his latest release, and it follows up on his excellent collaboration with Tee Grizzley and Harry Fraud, “Cecil Fielder”. In terms of projects, it comes after a tandem of AOTY contenders in Penalty of Leadership and Across The Tracks. Both were handled exclusively by two separate uber-talented beat crafters. Nicholas Craven laid things down on POL, whereas Conductor Williams was all over ATT. Nothing is known about another LP in development, but we think “Super Mario” and “Cecil Fielder” will go down as loosies for Boldy James.

However, in that same breath, there has been a particular theme with both singles. Each one has a more trap-like soundscape to it, so maybe he’s got something cooking. If that doesn’t turn out to be the case, it’s always cool to hear Boldy over some slightly different production. You’re getting your typical topical focus of violence and putting on for the hometown. Boldy also speeds up his usually slow and methodical delivery to keep pace with the bouncy beat from Antt Beatz and Helluva Beats. We wouldn’ t say this is better than “Cecil Fielder” but its certainly got good qualities going for it. Check it out for yourself below.

If you are looking to create elements of excitement for a film’s soundtrack, look no further than Quavo and Ty Dolla $ign. Both artists have tons of experience penning songs for movies over their illustrious careers. Perhaps each one’s most notable contributions include The Fate of the Furious (Quavo) and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (Ty Dolla $ign). They each had massive songs off their respective projects, such as “Go Off” and “Scared of the Dark”. So, it’s no surprise that the creators of Transformers One are recruiting Quavo and Ty for song, which in this case is “If I Fall”.

The animated motion picture will arrive in theaters on next Friday, September 14 and it’s going to be an origin story of the universe involving the Autobots and Decepticons. Assumedly, the soundtrack will have more big names like the cast has. Speaking of which, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Brian Tyree Henry, and Steve Buscemi are just a few to rattle off. “If I Fall” also features, ARE WE DREAMING, a production and singing team, who also handles the chorus of the single. Central Cee Taps Fellow Londoner RAYE For “Moi”

Central Cee has been pretty prolific over the last couple of months, dropping off singles galore. It certainly has to be an exciting time for Cench fans for this reason, but also because of the roll out he’s in the middle of. Pretty soon, the London, England rapper and songwriter will be dropping CAN’T RUSH GREATNESS, and it’s being billed as his debut album. A release date is still in the works, but with just about two and a half months to go before the end of 2024, we are expecting that news to come sooner than later.

We also foresee that because Central Cee is back with the alleged third single, “Moi”. The track sees him collide with fellow Londoner RAYE, an R&B/pop songwriter, singer, and producer. She’s worked with the likes of 070 Shake, Lucky Daye, Coi Leray, David Guetta, and more. You might have heard RAYE and Shake’s ultra-popular hit “Escapism.” on TikTok or just via a playlist on DSPs. It’s an interesting marriage for sure, as Cench obviously lives in the belly of the drill scene, whereas as RAYE is known for power ballads and dance cuts. Check it out for yourself with the link below and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

I’m here tonight but gone tomorrow, if you wanna f***, then quick, decide

Toosii & Gunna Are A Perfect Match On Melodic “Champs Elysees”

New York/North Carolina raised rapper and singer Toosii is back with “Champs Elysees”, a new single featuring Gunna. This is the first time that these two artists have crossed paths, which is kind of a shocker. Both possess the ability to rap melodically at a high level in addition to sharing similar tastes when it comes to production. Like his new album, a Toosii and Gunna collab is long overdue. It seems as that “Champs Elysees” will be landing on an upcoming album for the “Favorite Song” MC in just about a month.

According to Genius, Toosii will be launching JADED on October 4, with “Fuk You Mean” being the lead-off track. Overall, Toosii and Gunna really do their thing over this soulful and luxurious trap beat. The main attraction has a catchy stop-and-go flow right from the opening lines of the sticky chorus that open up the record. Gunna similarly tackles the instrumental well with his signature auto-tune-tinged vocals. Besides being a head-nodding tune, Toosii and Gunna are also delivering some uplifting bars about chasing what they want in life. For example, Gunna raps, “The mansion in the hills, I need a few more / Five hundred Ms, I’m tryna reach the goal“. Pharrell Williams Pens Inspiring “Piece By Piece” For Upcoming LEGO Animated Biopic

Pretty soon, we are going to learn more about the mastermind that is Pharell Williams. According to Rolling Stone, his LEGO animated biopic, Piece By Piece, will be in theaters by October 11 with Focus Features being the distributor. The trailer for the film was released back in June and it will depict the life and influential career of the Virginia Beach, Virginia native. Adding some extra excitement to the movie is the inclusion of multiple hip-hop icons and their LEGO avatars. Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, JAY-Z, and more will all have roles in what should be an interesting watch. With the multi-hyphenate being behind a project like this, an original soundtrack was almost a sure thing. That’s why it’s no surprise that Pharrell Williams has dropped the first/self-titled single for it today, “Piece By Piece”.

The veteran is no stranger to writing catchy and kid-friendly compositions for films and there might not be anyone better, at least in hip-hop. “Piece By Piece” is a record that encourages people to embrace the journey instead of sprinting to the finish line. Pharrell has certainly paid his dues in the music industry, so this track should fit right at home with his film’s potential overarching messages. Piece By Piece has been viewed at by movie critics already at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, and so far, it’s gotten mixed reviews. However, things could change once it gets a wider screening.

When Fauni shared the track on Instagram, fans quickly assumed the title was a reference to a new album release date. “ALBUM DROP??? We are hungry! Been listening to your og sh*t!! DC The Don Reaches “GOD LEVEL” On New Single: Stream

After his last project 2012, it seems like DC The Don is already gearing up for his next big move with a more aggressive and industrial direction. Sure, he’s always played with rage sounds and more bombastic trap and hip-hop, but his new single “GOD LEVEL” plays further into that. Buzzing kicks and bass hits, screeching synths, warbled vocal effects, and primally percussive flows mix together to create quite the dramatic and moshpit-ready banger.

Furthermore, this follows more introspective, reflective, and moody fare from DC The Don as of late, such as his recent midwxst collab single “FIRE.” Also, fans got a lot of highly anticipated and fan-favorite throwaways on the SACRED HEART 2 (+) mixtape. As such, many of his sounds and different approaches are mixing together this year and complementing each other, which makes this more harsh and experimental direction for his artistry all the more exciting and compelling. Hopefully there’s more where this came from, as there’s a lot of potential here to make this sound and style even more captivating.

Meanwhile, the “BACKSTAGE” rapper is still engaging with fans and keeping them alert with new updates, so we’ll see how much longer we have to wait for a new project. If you haven’t heard DC The Don’s “GOD LEVEL” yet, find it on your preferred streaming service or check it out on YouTube below. Down there, you can also find some notable lines from the cut and the comments section for you to leave your thoughts on the single. Ransom Potentially Previews An Upcoming Posse Tape With “Higher Killer” Featuring Conway The Machine & More

Ransom, Conway the Machine, and producer V Don might be cooking up something serious behind closed doors. According to some fan speculation in the comments section on Ransom’s Instagram, this triple-headed monster is working on a posse project of sorts. “Conway need a tape w ran”. “Is this off the Ran & Con tape we’ve been waiting for 👀”. The “this” that the latter fan is inquiring about is a new Ransom single, “Higher Killer”. The track also includes a verse from the gravelly-voiced MC Lloyd Banks and overall, this record is a slapper front to back no doubt about it.

V Don concocted a dramatic and frenetic East Coast boom-bap special with this one. The lone highlight of the instrumental is hard to choose. You have incredibly dark string sections, as well resonant and rich bass, and a deadly hi-hat to drum ratio. Then, as for the rapping performances, Ransom, Lloyd, and Conway are all locked in right from the start of their respective verses. We can certainly say that about Conway, and he will assuredly shut up the skeptics that have been claiming his recent output hasn’t been consistent. Genius seems to have more info on the project in terms of the title, which is Chaos Is My Ladder Too. If this turns out to all be real, then “Higher Kiler” is a perfect start to the roll out.

Russ Is In A Different Mode On “Get Up & Get It”

Russ certainly has a lot of room to talk when it comes to writing motivational songs and its why “Get Up & Get It” has weight to its words. However, we have to be completely transparent and say there are some bars that feel forced. “She sayin’ she vegan, how, girl? (How?) / Your favorite position is cowgirl / The sex after fighting makes fighting feel worth it“. Overall, the track has a great overlying message to it and there are some lines that come across better than the ones above. But in that same breath, we feel that the execution isn’t fully there.

We would say its why there is a solid group of hip-hop fans out there who would say that Russ inconsistent. But at the end of the day, you have to give it to him for hustling as hard as he has for so long. It’s hard not talk about it because it’s made Russ into one of the most successful underground/independent MCs in the genre’s history. His mindset to feed fans with an influx of singles, projects, and shows is truly commendable. Speaking of which, Russ recently revealed that “Get Up & Get It” will be the last record before his Europe tour. The guy is simply a workaholic, and we respect everything he’s done until this point. Check out the single and see what you think.
