The Weeknd Finally Drops “Trust Issues” On Spotify 12 Years After Original Release

It seems like Fortnite wasn’t all that The Weeknd had to unveil these past few weeks… or is this just a ruse? Moreover, fans expressed joy on social media when his 12-year-old fan-favorite track “Trust Issues,” a remix of the Drake song of the same name, appeared on his profile on Spotify. However, given that it didn’t appear on Apple Music or his other release pages, the simple cover art, and the label being listed as just “weeknd,” we’d bet that this is one of those hacked releases that sometimes pop up for popular artists. Also, the record starts abruptly on Spotify, so all signs lead to an unofficial release.

Still, we’ll celebrate it while it lasts, so go add “Trust Issues” to your playlist and enjoy the moment like the rest of us. Just take it with that extra grain of salt as you indulge in The Weeknd’s drowsy, dramatic, and slow-burning re-imagining of Drizzy’s original. The stark trap drums present here pair up with some cavernous kicks and claps to give the percussion a little more percussion. Also, we can’t talk about this cut without mentioning the sultry guitars that edge it out throughout various points of its runtime. Even if this isn’t an official release, Abel Tesfaye’s shoutout of Playboi Carti’s next album means that there might be new music on the way.

Meanwhile, the Canadian superstar is busy these days funding the provision of millions of meals to Gaza and dealing with some tour date postponements in Australia and New Zealand. Even as The Weeknd is one of the most dominant artists right now, his early work is a treat to revisit. If you want to catch “Trust Issues” on Spotify before it presumably gets taken down, you’d better act fast. You can still discover or revisit the track on YouTube above and check out some notable lines down below. As always, check back in with HNHH for the latest great music releases around the clock… and hopefully the next one is for real.

Quotable Lyrics
All she cares about is money and the city where she’s from,
Her intention is the paper, she don’t need no f***ing love
She spilling all this liquor, trying to pass me all these cups
Well, babygirl, I’m zoning, somebody should’ve told her

Lil Nas X Remixes Nicki Minaj’s “FTCU”: Listen

Pink Friday 2 is here, and there are a lot of artists that are feeling more like Barbz these days as a result. Moreover, many fellow rappers and musicians in other genres came forward to show their love to Nicki Minaj’s latest album. The most recent addition in that vein actually came in the form of a new remix. Furthermore, Lil Nas X recently took to social media, particularly Instagram, to share his remix of the track “FTCU,” which includes a brag-heavy, boisterous, and bombastic new verse from him. He comes off with a lot of charisma and with some funny bars and references, whether it’s proclaiming his Nicki standom or pulling together some punchlines with Doja Cat song titles.

Not only that, but this is very interesting given the Georgia artist’s recent switch-up into his self-proclaimed “Christian era.” As is unfortunately usual for him, he faced a lot of backlash as a result, but also some surprising support from a leader in the Christian rap space, Lecrae. Hopefully this means that Lil Nas X wasn’t deterred from expressing himself in whatever way he saw fit. Who knows, maybe other future remixes of his will also take on this religious slant.

“FTCU” Remix By Lil Nas X: Listen

What we wouldn’t bet on, though, is for the MONTERO superstar to cook up more remixes of the Trinidadian MC. For those unaware, Lil Nas X and Nicki Minaj have a complicated relationship, although they’ve never been too close to one another to begin with. Rather, their bond stems from his aforementioned love of her and her music, which became a hot topic in the headlines at one point. Following some apparently rejected collabs and some fanbase clashing, we’d remain pretty skeptical of the idea that they could eventually come together.

However, we’d love to be proven wrong, as they are too talented of a duo to pass up on. It’s nowhere near the level of cold war that the “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” hitmaker has with Cardi B, but it’s still a touchy subject. Do you think that Nas Maraj will eventually get to work with his Queen? Let us know down in the comments section below. In addition, keep checking in with HNHH for more news and the latest updates on Lil Nas X and Nicki Minaj.

Nicki Minaj & 50 Cent Unleash “Beep Beep” Remix As “Pink Friday 2” Website Exclusive

Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 has been dominating the music industry for the past few days, and for good reason. This last month of 2023’s been busier than expected in that regard, but nothing was able to slow down this rollout and the debate between the Barbz about whether this project lived up to the hype. Based on pure sales projections, general fan reception, and all the support behind her, we’d argue that this has been a pretty satisfying release so far. However, given that the Trinidadian MC is always one to surprise and please her fans, then it should come as no surprise that she’s not done yet.

Moreover, Nicki Minaj just released a new remix of the album cut “Beep Beep” with none other than her fellow legendary Queens MC, 50 Cent, which they previously announced on social media. It’s available exclusively on her website for digital purchase, and hopefully it lands on streaming services soon– which is something that she’s already hinted at. Unfortunately for international fans, this version is currently only available to purchase for U.S. residents. Still, if you want to check the song out and aren’t in the States, you can find that here or wait for the streaming version.

Nicki Minaj’s Original Version Of “Beep Beep”: Stream

In other news, the 41-year-old recently blasted the music industry for contributing to what she believes is a weak state for female hip-hop right now. “Rap should sound like f***ing rap!” Nicki Minaj expressed on her radio show. “That’s y’all f***ing problem, and that’s why all of the record labels– not all, but some– are scrambling so bad because they about to go f***ing bankrupt. ‘Cause they was trying so bad to replace this one b***h. When you water something down, you lose the quality, which then loses the investors and investments. ‘Cause it’s not bringing back any profit.”

Meanwhile, she recently announced a world tour in 2024, which has fans bouncing off the walls with excitement. As for Fif, he made plenty of amazing contributions to albums as of late, so this verse is cold, emphatic, and engaging verse is no surprise. Hopefully this doesn’t start and end their collaborative run. For more news and the latest updates on 50 Cent and Nicki Minaj, stick around on HNHH.

Nicki Minaj & Cardi B Didn’t Make The Cut For GloRilla’s “F.N.F.” Remix, Producer Says

GloRilla’s “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” was one of 2022’s biggest hits, and she’s continued that hot streak of singles and bangers. As such, it’s unsurprising to hear that a lot of people wanted to hop on the remix, whether it’s up-and-comers or established MCs. However, based on a series of tweets from the song’s producer Hitkidd on Sunday (December 3), it seems like they actually turned down some massive names for it. Moreover, he named Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, and Megan Thee Stallion as some names who didn’t make the cut. Eventually, Latto and JT of the City Girls graced it with finesse, but we can’t help but think about what could’ve been.

“Nicki Minaj called me to get on the FNF remix,” Hitkidd recalled concerning GloRilla’s breakout hit. “But I still went who I already had on it because I gave them my word. No cap, Cardi wanted to get on the FNF remix and I hit Meg up to get on there with her. I was tryna change the game and put the hottest women artists on one song!

Hitkidd Reveals The Possibilities Behind The “F.N.F.” Remix

“I fw Nicki’s artistry but I made a moral decision,” GloRilla’s collaborator continued. “Like I said I was trying to get everybody one song and change the game. I’ll have to get [the other remix] cleared , we have the video with Saweetie though. She showed us a lot of love which is why I still want to drop it. Hopefully we can drop it for the fans!” Furthermore, it seems like Hitkidd suggested that they’re still not done with “F.N.F.,” at least for the sake of hardcore fans. Could we get another wave of hype with it in 2024?

GloRilla’s Producer Continues To Dish Out Tea

Regardless of that outcome, Big Glo is also making sure to stay tapped into the new players that emerged since this song’s rise to dominance. For example, she and Sexyy Red recently performed together, and hopefully that’s not the last we get of the duo. Do you think that all these femcees will eventually hop on a track together? Let us know in the comments and for more news on GloRilla, Hitkidd, and all these talented ladies, stay logged into HNHH.

Joe Budden Rips Lupe Fiasco For Remixing Andre 3000 Flute Album

Joe Budden is someone who has hated on a plethora of artists over the years. Overall, he is someone who does not mince words. Even if what he says offends people, he does not care. Ultimately, his attitude towards music criticism has given him a large platform. Although he has gotten into feuds because of this, he has continued to give fans his best, every single week. Recently, his target was none other than Lupe Fiasco. The reason? His remix of the Andre 3000 album, New Blue Sun.

New Blue Sun is an instrumental album in which Andre 3000 plays the flute. Overall, it was a great project that a lot of fans enjoyed. However, Budden took issue with Lupe trying to add vocals to it. In Budden’s eyes, it was a move that just didn’t feel right. Of course, he said that in much worse terms. It turned out to be a humourous segment, however, we are sure Lupe begs to differ on that one.

Joe Budden Is A Hater

“Hey Lupe, man, stop. Stop it. He rapping over them damn flutes. I cut that shit right off,” Joe Budden said. “Oh Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Yo dawg, it’s women listening… with vaginas. Please. Why would he do that to that to them? I can’t say nothing ’cause he gonna diss me […] That was some bullshit. That was some clout chasing.” There are a lot of artists out there who were looking at remixing the new Andre album. At the end of the day, it makes sense. He is a massive artist and with some fresh instrumentals, there was a very obvious opportunity here.

That being said, let us know what you thought of the Lupe remixes, in the comments section below. Is Joe Budden right about them backing wack? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will always keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming releases.

The Alchemist, Currensy, Boldy James & Westside Gunn Unleash “No Yeast” Remix

These artists have already had a prolific, very successful, and acclaimed 2023, but would they really be the amazing hip-hop figures we adore if they didn’t keep striking when the iron is hot? Moreover, The Alchemist, Curren$y, Boldy James, and Westside Gunn just dropped a remix to “No Yeast.” This cut appeared on Uncle Al and Spitta’s 2022 collab album Continuance, and featured the Detroit MC. However, this isn’t a question of just throwing a verse from the Griselda icon on here; each lyricist wrote a new verse for it. It would’ve been cool to see the producer switch up the beat a little bit, but with three brand-new sets of bars to sink our teeth into, how could we complain?

Furthermore, the instrumental here is a tender sample flip with gorgeous vocals, deep bass, and dreamy guitar lines, plus some ambient applause noise. The Alchemist dominates these soundscapes, and always knows how to keep up potent chemistry with the rappers he works with. In this case, this provides a warm bed for Boldy James, Curren$y, and Westside Gunn to come through with confident, emphatic, but still reflective and laidback verses. Well, Flygod still comes through with his trademark energy, charisma, and braggadocious attitude as the brand-new artist over this beat. Even when he switched to trap-inspired sounds on his 2023 album And Then You Pray For Me, he always showed why he’s so captivating as a mic presence and writer.

Meanwhile, Boldy James opens the track up with evocative writing about the world around him and what he needs to get by. Curren$y balances out his somber flow with Gunn’s bravado, closing the song out with a solidly boastful but grounded verse. After The Alchemist’s prolific run, the latest of which is his Flying High, Part 2 EP- and that of the MCs here- it’s no wonder everything they touch turns to gold. If you haven’t heard the “No Yeast” remix yet, find it on your preferred streaming service and peep some standout bars from it down below. As always, keep checking in with HNHH for more great hip-hop each week.

Jim Jones, Dyce Payso, And Keen Streetz Lay Down Bars Over “SHAQ & KOBE” Beat

New York MC and label head of B.G. Touring, Inc & Entertainment, Jim Jones is on a little run right now. Just last weekend, the veteran put out his second album of the year with Jim Jones Presents Byrdgang 2.0. What was interesting about this release was that it was another collaborative record of sorts. While his previous effort Back In My Prime was like that too, his latest one puts on tons of underground talent. Some of the most frequent names included Dyce Payso and Keen Streetz. Those two lyricists join Jones once again with a new freestyle.

Currently, it is only available on YouTube. The title of the song may sound familiar to you and you would be right in that assumption. That is because this is a remix of sorts of Meek Mill’s and Rick Ross’ recent collaborative track. Unlike the two MMG artists, this version of “SHAQ & KOBE” does not seem like it will appear on any upcoming record.

Listen To “SHAQ & KOBE” From Jim Jones, Dyce Payso, And Keen Streetz

Fans in the comments section under the accompanying music video are seeming to enjoy it. One goes, “Jimmy Strangled The Beat, Placed It In A Choke Hold And Body Slammed The Beat…Effortlessly…Byrd GANG.” Another says, “Jim cadence is so lit. Idc what cha’ll say. Pusha not winning this battle against Jimmy. I always beena fan of Push, but Jim has truly grown as a lit artist. Dyce rode dat beat like a horse, (pause), and Keen got super busy. Sheesh.” Be sure to give it a try up above.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single and freestyle from Jim Jones, Dyce Payso, and Keen Streetz, “SHAQ & KOBE?” Is this version better than the original from Rick Ross and Meek Mill? Gunna, Victor Thompson & Ehis “D” Greatest Drop “This Year (Blessings)” Remix

After a stellar live performance of it for his Los Angeles show, we finally have Gunna in his Afrobeats bag officially in our hands. Moreover, he hopped on the remix of Victor Thompson and Ehis “D” Greatest’s “This Year (Blessings).” Not only does the dancehall-adjacent cut contain great vocal harmonies from all artists, but the YSL affiliate holds his own from a melodic and lyrical standpoint, as well. There are many different versions of this song out right now, so make sure to give Thompson and D some love and find your favorite. It might be October, but this track is going to heat up any playlist you slap it on.

In addition to the record coming out on streaming service, the artists also released a music video for it. You can see Victor Thompson and Ehis “D” Greatest around Los Angeles in it, working hard on the song, performing, and rehearsing. In fact, around the halfway mark of the video, you can not only see the Georgia MC rehearsing with Thompson and the band, but bringing him out onto the stage for their performance. As such, it feels like a lot of the song’s bubbly energy, reversed and atmospheric synths, and hopeful lyrics really manifested themselves in that moment. That’s not where they were created, but it’s clear the whole team felt it was important to match these two together.

Meanwhile, a lot of Wunna’s fans are pretty excited to hear him go in this new direction. Hopefully it’s not the last Afrobeats-type track he attacks, and hopefully it isn’t the only genre diversion he makes in the near future. It’s clear he has the talent for it, and with a lot of commercial success behind Gunna, Victor Thompson, and Ehis “D” Greatest, surely they could go a long way with this. If you haven’t heard the “This Year (Blessings)” remix yet, find it on your preferred streaming service and peep standout lines below. Pusha T, Chad Hugo, & BENEE Join Pop Band Phoenix For Remix Of “All Eyes On Me”

Pusha T’s career in hip-hop is one of the greatest of all time. It all started with his duo Clipse back in the early 1990s. He and his brother, No Malice were a great pairing giving us phenomenal tracks. Then, they eventually split and Push went on to forge his own path. It is been nothing short of an amazing run. He is most known for his coke raps and aggressive tone on the mic.

However, what some fans might not know is that the Virginia native has done a fair amount of crossovers with non-hip hop artists. Back in 2013, he teamed up with Justin Timberlake for the “TKO (Black Friday Remix).” While it did include other rappers A$AP Rocky and J. Cole, it was still an unexpected moment. One year later, Push and EDM producer Hudson Mohawke remixed “Chimes.” Now, he is back hopping into other genres with the indie pop band, Phoenix.

The France band put out a song called “All Eyes On Me” last year. It landed on their record Alpha Zulu. Pitchfork shared that Pusha T and Phoenix first previewed this remix this summer at the We Love Green Festival. It also grabs producer from The Neptunes, Chad Hugo, as well as singer BENEE. This is certainly a unique collaboration, but give it a spin with the link above.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new remix of Phoenix’s track “All Eyes On Me” with BENEE, Chad Hugo, and Pusha T? Is this better than the original version? Do you like when Pusha T does crossovers like this? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this.
