Night Lovell Drops A New Set Of Grimy Trap Bangers On “I HOPE YOU’RE HAPPY”

We got our first official announcement of Night Lovell’s upcoming project back in early August. The Canadian rapper dropped the hint on his social media, namely Instagram. It featured a selfie of him with a confused look on his face, with the caption simply saying, “aLbUm?” Then, just over two months later Lovell shared that he wrapped up recording it.

That was done on Twitter, now known as X. Shortly after that, the Ottawa artist put out the second single for I HOPE YOU’RE HAPPY. It was called “MY DAY IS RUINED !” A heavy-hitting trunk-knocking banger with horrorcore elements. However, we unknowingly got our first look at the LP with a 2022 track, “Eye Spy.”

Nicholas Craven Provides A Soulful Beat, While Boldy James Raps His Behind Off On “No Pun Intended”

Nicholas Craven is an underground producing legend. The Quebec-based talent has been going at it since 2017. Honestly, with how meticulous he is at his craft, you would think he would be doing this for decades. It makes it even more impressive with that context in mind. Craven has worked with some of the best lyricists in hip-hop, one of them being Boldy James. The two are great together and have a tremendous rapport.

Back in 2022, the pairing put out a 10-track all-killer and no-filler project, Fair Exchange No Robbery. Outside of the one project, Craven and the Detroit rapper also have some other cuts together from previous works, too. This is why it is exciting to mention they are teaming up for a second full-length next year. Rumors have it that Craven and Boldy will be ready to drop sometime in January.

Listen To “No Pun Intended” By Nicholas Craven And Boldy James

The tape will be called Penalty Of Leadership. So far, only two tracks are out for it. We got our first taste of the record back in the middle of November with “Brand New Chanel Kicks.” Now, we have cut two with “No Pun Intended.” This one features some incredible chopped-up soulful vocals in the production. Then, of course, you have Boldy spazzing on it as per usual. It is safe to say we cannot wait for the full body of work.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “No Pun Intended,” by Nicholas Craven and Boldy James? Is this the best track out of the two singles in promotion for Penalty Of Leadership? Is Craven a top 10 producer in the game right now, and where does he rank all time? Will this include the best rap performances by Boldy in the last few years, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Tems Is Cutting Her Losses On Her New Single “Not An Angel”

Tems has been developing a name for herself. The Nigerian-born multi-talented singer started releasing material to streaming back in 2018. However, things really started to take off for her around 2020 when she released her debut project, For Broken Ears. In terms of ingratiating herself with hip-hop listeners, Tems got a lot of people talking with her feature on Future’s 2022 record. That of course, was his album I NEVER LIKED YOU.

She landed on one of the hits from it, “WAIT FOR U,” with Drake. Before that, the 28-year-old also appeared on Drizzy’s 2021 tape, Certified Lover Boy. She provided her stunning voice on “Fountains.” Besides a few high-profile placements, Tems usually is quiet when it comes to new material.

Listen To “Not An Angel” By Tems

Which is why it is exciting to talk about a new track. She has just come through with a self-confident ballad called “Not An Angel.” It features production from one of the most well-known Afro-beat producers, Sarz. He also just dropped a new track with Gunna and Asake. “Not An Angel” sees Tems sing about leaving a one-sided relationship. It is a powerful song about leaving someone who just takes and takes and having the mental strength to go through with it.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “Not An Angel,” by Tems? Is she the best Afro-beats singer going right now? Do you think this sudden popularity in this genre will be a long-lasting thing in music? After hearing this song, should Tems drop a new album soon? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Sarz Brings On Asake And Gunna For A Lovey Piece Of Afro-Beat With “Happiness”

Sarz is one of the most popular and well-respected Afro-beat producers in the genre. More than ever before, African music is all over the charts and the radio. Multiple artists from the respective subsets are having a breakout 2023. Rema, Tyla, Burna Boy, and many others are exploding onto the scene.

It has been the perfect time for these names to pop off, especially, with hip-hop having a down year by its standards. Sarz has been in the industry for a minute now, but it is good to see him have a big moment this year. Many casual listeners will know the beat he made for Drake, Wizkid, and Kyla’s smash 2016 hit, “One Dance.” But, he is much more than that.

Listen To “Happiness” By Sarz, Asake, And Gunna

The Nigerian talent is getting ready for a new album to drop sometime next year, according to Billboard. The first single, “Yo Fam!,” with Crayon and Skrillex dropped back in early September. Now, Sarz is back for round two. This time, he brings on Gunna and fellow Afro-pop artist Asake for “Happiness.” The theme around this one is about making the special person in your life happy by whatever means necessary. It is a great crossover for each artist involved, and hopefully, heading into next year, we get more of these efforts.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “Happiness,” by Sarz, Asake, and Gunna? Is this Gunna’s best genre-crossover appearance, why or why not? Is this one of the best Afro-pop tracks of the year? Whose appearance made the track for you? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Chrisean Rock Shares Her Thoughts On NLE Choppa Name-Dropping Her In A New Song

Earlier this week, NLE Choppa shared his new single “Shotta Flow 7” which is perfectly in line with his hard-hitting style. But right out of the gate with one of the first lyrics on the song he makes a joke at Chrisean Rock’s expense. The first line on the first verse reads “I was missin’ the action like Chrisean tooth.” The joke was made about Chrisean’s notoriously missing tooth, though it doesn’t exactly have a punchline or a clever payoff.

Now, Chrisean herself is responding to the song. She caught wind of it via a clip of the lyric on Instagram where she left behind a comment. “This is so random ppl will just mention me saying anything,” she comments alongside a crying laughing emoji. Even though she doesn’t really seem to care, fans responding to her comment feel like she’s downplaying things. “She loves the attention actually and she getting on my nerves now,” one comment reads. But others think she should try and take on the song’s instrumental herself. “Put her on the remix and get her a bag for her and the baby cuz she could do this beat,” one of the top comments on the post reads. Check out the snippet from the song where Choppa mentions Chrisean below.

Chrisean Rock Responds To NLE Choppa

Chrisean Rock has had a busy few weeks that started with the alleged kidnapping drama between her and Blueface. It began when Blue posted about having to go pick up the pair’s child late at night because Chrisean wasn’t around. When she gave her point of view on the events later on she had a very different story. Rock claimed that Blue actually kidnapped their child and the drama began to spiral from there online.

That led Chrisean Rock to share some concerning posts to social media. She had fans worried for her safety after making claims about dying being easier than staying alive. Thankfully she pivoted to something more wholesome when she shared a video reading bible verses to her baby. What do you think of Chrisean Rock’s response to NLE Choppa mentioning her in his new song? Let us know in the comment section below.

Playboi Carti Shares New Snippet On Instagram: “IM NOT PLAYING”

Playboi Carti’s I AM MUSIC (or just Music? Who knows?) is finally upon us, and he is well-aware of what that anticipation means. Moreover, he recently shared a short instrumental snippet on Instagram along with a graphic that reads “IM NOT PLAYING.” As such, the Atlanta rage pioneer is probably very aware that he has been playing for the better part of three years now when it comes to his next album. In addition to reposting Tyler, The Creator DMs, old Young Thug tweets, and Pharrell cosigns, this is adding to some more prolific activity from him that fans are very happy to see. After all, Carti is usually radio-silent, and a lot of what we hear or see of him is through so many other means that aren’t himself.

Furthermore, let’s talk about this snippet, which might be part of this January drop for Playboi Carti. It’s nothing too special, to be honest: heavy and simple bass, a creepy and slightly Halloween-ish synth melody, a compressed snare, and rattling hi-hats. If anything, it’s like a fusion of the tempo and drum pattern that dominated Die Lit with the goth aesthetics of Whole Lotta Red. As such, we can’t really take a guess at what previous style this new release will imitate, but we hope that it’s none of the above and that Carti comes through with something new.

Playboi Carti Is “Not Playing” With This New Snippet: Listen

In addition to this new hype for I AM MUSIC, this follows previous promises and timeline changes in his career. For example, when Playboi Carti and the rest of Opium had to reschedule their European tour dates, he said that his album was coming soon, which we now have at least some confirmation of thanks to DJ Akademiks. It’s actually funny that there are a lot of similarities between this and WLR: a winter/Christmastime drop, DJ Akademiks with the inside scoop, and it doesn’t look like his aesthetics have changed all that much since then. We’d guess that the newest thing about this new release is that the “FE!N” MC will use more of the deep and warbly delivery he debuted on that song.

Meanwhile, as fans, we all have to be ready for this whole thing to fall apart at any second– and to be cognizant of his alleged abhorrent behavior. After all, with so many teases, apparent delays, and unfulfilled promises, fans are too hardened to let their guard down. So let’s hold out a healthy balance of skepticism and hope until we see something on our preferred DSPs. For more news and the latest updates on Playboi Carti, stick around on HNHH.

Boosie Badazz Pleads With Lil Baby For Feature On His Next Album

Boosie Badazz is someone who is a staple of hip-hop culture at this point. Overall, he has come out with some iconic music over the years. Although, for many, he is someone who is known for his humorous observations on the culture. While some may hate the things he says, others find him at least a little entertaining. Ultimately, he is someone who elicits a reaction, and if you can do that, then you can easily find a bit of success. Either way, Boosie is someone who has a lot of fun.

Overall, he is also someone who is always listening to the younger artists in the game. In order to stay sharp, it is important to listen to those who run the game right now. One of those young artists is none other than Lil Baby. It is believed that the young artist has a new album on the way, and fans are interested to finally hear it. Of course, Boosie is one of the many people who want to hear it. In fact, Boosie wants a spot on the album, and in the video below, he drunkenly begged for a placement.

Boosie Badazz Shouts Out Lil Baby

“I just saw Lil Baby,” Boosie said. “Put me on the album, n***a! Tell Lil Baby put me on the album, n***a […] Real n****s getting banned these days — put a real n***a on the album, Im’a slide, n***a.” Whether or not Lil Baby accepts such an offer, truly remains to be seen. However, you never know. It could very well be a situation where Baby wants to pay homage to someone who is a legend and elder statesman in the game. Either way, we’re sure the album will be solid.

Pharrell Links With Swae Lee And Rauw Alejandro For Tropical Cut “Airplane Tickets”

Pharrell Williams has been one of the most revered hip-hop artists over the past decade-plus. The Virginia Beach, Virginia native has always done things a little differently, helping him stand out more than your typical beatmaker. He loves to challenge the people he collaborates with, which is such a good quality to have. While he drops fairly regularly, he has not dropped an album in almost 10 years.

But, it looks like that is going to change sometime next year. Genius has a new project listed on his page and it is called Phriends, Vol. 1. We have already gotten the singles to this supposed release. The first of which was “Cash In Cash Out” with 21 Savage and Tyler, The Creator back in June of 2022. Then, in November of 2022, we got a second helping with “Down In Atlanta” with Travis Scott.

Listen To “Airplane Tickets” By Pharrell Williams, Swae Lee, And Rauw Alejandro

Now, over a year later we have the third promotional cut. This one sees Swae Lee and Rauw Alejandro enter the fray. This one certainly has a separate vibe from the previous two efforts. It takes a more summery and tropical direction, seeing as Rauw is from Puerto Rico. “Airplane Tickets” brings a danceable rhythm and is more of a kick-back song to have as nice background music.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “Airplane Tickets,” by Pharrell Williams, Swae Lee, and Rauw Alejandro? Is this the best promotional track from the producer’s upcoming album, Phriends, Vol. 1? Whose performance on the track was more impactful? Is this Pharrell’s best beat out of the three songs?
