Megan Thee Stallion fans have been playing the waiting game when it comes to new material from her for a while now. Of course, that’s totally understandable considering her hardship and overwhelming pressure from the Tory Lanez shooting case. However, the Houston MC just took to Instagram to promise something new for fans, which previous developments also hinted at. After all, she just released a new song with Cardi B, “Bongos,” that acted as a return for both rappers. While the “NDA” artist didn’t specify what exactly she’s dropping tomorrow (September 26), fans know to expect something big.

Moreover, she posted an Instagram video of her silhouetted profile saying “I’ve always been told I gotta be strong.” Furthermore, Megan Thee Stallion elaborated on her mystery drop just a little bit in the clip’s caption. “On 9/26, I’m dropping something that can help all of us,” she expressed. “Stay tuned, Hotties. #SeizeTheAwkward.” Whatever it is, fans hope that this will fully kick the 28-year-old’s career back into gear. Still, it’s also quite curious that we don’t know the nature of it because it seems like the perfect chance to garner hype for new material.

Chrisean Rock Promotes New Music Following Blueface’s Latest Scandal

Chrisean Rock shared a video of herself working on new music in the studio, Monday, just hours after Blueface came under fire for posting a picture of their baby son’s genitalia on Twitter. “This how I’m feeling,” Rock captioned the video.

Fans shared in disbelief that she’s already working on new music following the drama. “Man go take that baby to get surgery you steady tryna play us that trash ah music,” one user commented. Another wrote: “You making a song while yo son Johnson hurting.”

Rock addressed the situation with Blueface and their son more directly on Instagram Live. In doing so, she threatened to take legal action against her ex. “Blueface, you’re going to jail,” she said. “I’m pressing charges that’s all I have to say.” From there, she noted that her lawyer was already on the case. As for Blueface’s post, he complained about his son suffering a hernia while sharing the inappropriate picture. “I only went to b more for the surgery but when we got there they said you missed the appointment it was two days ago the doctors are busy now we have to reschedule at that moment I knew she wasn’t really up for the challenge,” he wrote in one post. Blueface later claimed to have been hacked.

Odd Future Makes Their Return In A Unique Way With “NEW FUTURE ERA”

Odd Future, collectively, has been out of the rap game for over 11 years. Their last effort together came on March 16, 2012. That release featured the most successful tracks in their short discography. The OF Tape Vol. 2 boasted featured 18 songs that only this group was capable of producing. Odd Future’s influence reached new heights with songs like “White,” “Oldie,” and “Analog 2.” Before that, the only other album was 12 Odd Future Songs.

There has not been much coverage of Odd Future’s return, though. It seems like it would be a bigger deal with how many fans were on board with their trailblazing style. But, here at HNHH, we are bringing you an update on the Los Angeles, California rap outfit. It is a massive one, with them coming back with a new single, “NEW FUTURE ERA.” However, the vocals are not what you might expect, and the song is very short.

The only lyrics are, “Embarrassing! / Card was declined / By the way.” It does not appear to feature any vocals from the members either. It also feels more like a snippet with it being just 54 seconds. The beat has an unfinished quality as well, but that is something that they are known for. This week, Thouxanbanfauni and KEY! teamed up to drop a new single, “Out Sad.” The song features upbeat, energetic lyrics about keeping your head up despite obstacles. Boastful bars pair well with a cheerfully childlike instrumental, creative a fun and carefree single.

The new track follows the release of KEY!’s latest album, Marquis. The Atlanta underground mainstay kept the 11-track effort short and straight to the point, coming in at just over 26 minutes. Regardless, the LP boasts a variety of features, including tracks with Redd Smash, Jace, ManMan Savage, and more. “Sounds like Memorial Drive, sounds like North Dekalb mall, sounds like Stone Mountain, sounds like Golden Glides,” he says of the self-titled album.

Thouxanbanfauni And KEY! – “Out Sad”

As for Thouxanbanfauni, he dropped off a new song called “HIGH ROLLER” earlier this month, and appears to have a new album on the way. The Tennessee-born performer also unveiled a simple music video to accompany the laid-back track. His next project, LEAVING LOATHE, is scheduled for release in October of this year, though a specific release date has yet to be revealed. He provided fans with the album art in August as well as the tracklist, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the release. He’s been teasing the project for some time now, and it’s safe to say that fans can’t wait.

Logic And JRB Team Up For Hypnotic New Single “D.A.R.E”

Earlier this week, Logic dropped off a new single alongside JRB, “D.A.R.E.” The mellow track tells a tale of getting just a little too high for comfort, pairing amusing lyrics with hypnotic production. Logic teased the atmospheric song a few days back, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the drop.

Now that it’s arrived, it’s safe to say that listeners aren’t disappointed. Distorted vocals blend with an eerie instrumental to create a track perfect for the approaching spooky season. The song’s murky accompanying artwork and early-on reference to alien abduction certainly drives this point home.

Logic x JRB – “D.A.R.E”

The track also follows the release of the performer’s new mixtape Inglorious Basterd, which he delivered to fans last week. It was made available for free to listeners on Bandcamp, and features 20 random cuts, with samples from Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Rick Ross, and more. Headie One & K-Trap Drop “STRENGTH TO STRENGTH” Mixtape Feat. Clavish

It’s been an all-around good year in terms of new hip-hop releases, though things have notably heated up in the last half of 2023. We’re still awaiting Drake’s For All The Dogs and Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2, but we’ve already heard impressive efforts from Gunna, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, and Travis Scott, just to name a few. This weekend we’ve heard from quite a few talented artists, including 2Rare, Money Man, Headie One, and K-Trap.

The latter duo teamed up for a 10-track effort called STRENGTH TO STRENGTH, which officially hit DSPs this past week. The only guest feature to appear on the mixtape is Clavish, who shows his lyrical prowess on “TRIPLE THREAT.” The trio linked up to film an accompanying visual which perfectly matches the themes explored by the rappers throughout their verses.

Clavish Links Up with Headie One and K-Trap in the “TRIPLE THREAT” Music Video

“She ask me why am I stressin’, I’m tryna get some of my opps addresses / I’m really off white, plus look in my closet and see I got lots of exes,” Clavish begins the infectious song. On the final verse, Trap closes things out with “Each one teach one, and takin’ tips / You ain’t on takin’ risks / If it goes well, then we’re changin’ dings.” Besides the joint effort, we also saw “PARK CHINOIS” and “CATFISH” arrive as early singles from the UK-bred stars’ impressive mixtape. So far, “TRENDING TOPIC” and “GOOD GIRLS…” have also emerged as fan favourites.

Doja Cat’s Flows And Bars Are On Point With “97” From “Scarlet”

Doja Cat has been prepping fans to get ready for her renaissance for quite some time now. She is ditching the radio-friendly sound (for the most part) and embracing a more “masculine direction,” according to Genius. She spoke with Variety about where she wanted to take this LP. “I also agree with everyone who said the majority of my rap verses are mid and corny… I wasn’t trying to prove anything I just enjoy making music but I’m getting tired of hearing y’all say that i can’t so I will.” Well, how did she deliver on that promise? We would say that mostly meets those expectations.

When Doja does, she really impresses and there are plenty of examples. The lead single “Attention” is one that boasts nice flows and bars about being unapologetic for her new style and musical approach. “F*** The Girls (FTG)” is another cut that displays these same qualities. But debatably the highest lyrical point on the record is “97.”

Genius breaks down the lyrics below and there are many meanings for them. Horses is referencing the horsepower in cars and the fact that Doja is speeding suggets her car has lots of power. Medicating the horses is another way of saying she is modifying the vehicle to be even faster. However, it also means she could be intoxicated behind the wheel as horses refers to heroin. The PETA reference dates all the way back to one of her first hits, “MOOO!,” and the response she got from the organization. The animal-fur coats also plays along with it, on top of the red paint that Doja sported for the promotion of the record and her track “Paint The Town Red.” PETA activists are known to throw red paint on people wearing animal print too.

Tobi Lou and FARADA are a duo you might not know, but they are one you will want to continue to hear from. The Nigerian-born and Chicago-raised rapper is a dynamic and multi-talented artist. He can spit some goofy and playful bars but also sing some heartfelt lyrics. On top of that, you have FARADA’s wavy, R&B, and trappy beats that will have you floating on a cloud. You can trace their works together back to earlier this year.

They already have two full projects together in just nine months. The first offering came out on March 31 and it was called, Baggy Weather (Mini Version). Following that was ‘Decent released back on June 30. While those were straightforward outputs, the last handful is a little more unconventional. It all started with tobi lou and FARADA’s single “Fee.” Since then, they have gone on to add new tracks over the past month.

The man responsible for so many R&B hits in the early 2000s is back with a new collaboration single for 2023. The Asheville, North Carolina native, Jermaine Dupri, is back with a new special guest. He is more known for his work behind the scenes when it comes to crafting songs, but Dupri still has his own solo catalog. However, it has remained dormant since the year 2001. Before this year, he only had two albums released on streaming.

Firstly, Life In 1472 (The Original Soundtrack) churned out some classics such as “Money Ain’t a Thang,” which featured Jay-Z. Then, fans would have to wait around two years for his next effort, Instructions. That boasted “Welcome To Atlanta” with Ludacris. That would be the last we would hear from Dupri on the solo side of things, though. That is, until 22 long years passed by. For Motivational Use Only, Vol. 1 was put out back in April and it was a collab album with Curren$y.
