Latto Will Appear On Usher’s Upcoming New Album

Just as sports fans are gearing up to see the two best NFL teams play in the Super Bowl next month. But music fans are arguably just excited. The Super Bowl Halftime Show is one of the biggest stages any music artist can get and this year R&B legend Usher is due to take the stage. He’s already been dropping teasers for his upcoming performance. The “Yeah!” singer is promising big things after claiming in a recent interview that he wants it to be perfect.

But the performance isn’t the only reason for Usher fans to be excited. He’s also releasing his highly-anticipated 9th studio album the same night. His last official solo album Hard II Love dropped back in 2016. He followed it up with A a collaborative project with Zaytoven two years later. The project is already off to a strong start with “Good Good” featuring 21 Savage and Summer Walker. The single has been Usher’s biggest hit in years and is still hovering on the Hot 100 months after its release. Latto has a pretty busy 2023 highlighted by her song “Put It On Da Floor.” The song got off to a decent start out of the gate but because a huge hit once Cardi B joined in for a collaboration. Together they delivered “Put It On Da Floor Again” which shot up to the top 20 of the Hot 100. The song stuck around for much of the year as well landing in the Year End Hot 100.

She also made an appearance on one of the biggest hit pop songs of the year. Latto lent a guest verse to K-pop star Jung Kook’s single “Seven.” The track debuted at number one on the Hot 100 which made her the first rapper to appear on the top spot in 2023. Blxst Highlights His Standout Voice And Storytelling On “Heart Ain’t Empty”

Blxst is one of the more versatile artists from the West Coast. He provides the ability to hit you with a banger, bouncy L.A. jams, or more emotional cuts. The latter is what he is delivering on his latest single, “Heart Ain’t Empty.” This is Blxst’s solo single since “21 Questions” as a part of Juneteenth. 2023 was a heavy year for collaborations the singer and rapper.

He and Bino Rideaux made their Sixtape series into a trilogy with a six-track EP back in September. Blxst also worked with Larry June and Cardo on “Without You” which you can find on Larry’s project The Night Shift. As we mentioned, Blxst decided to go with a deeper type of song for this newest offering and he delivers tenfold. The production is an afterthought, but not in a bad way.

It takes a backseat to allow the listener to really dial into what the Califonia artist is talking about. He buries deep and unearths the lost relationships that have been weighing on him. From the lyrics, it sounds like he is referring to his late friend Gello. In the second, he speaks about the strength of his sister who has lost so much in her life. She is an inspiration for Blxst to keep going and come through with new material, which it sounds like he is working on. However, it sounds like it is hard for him to do so with these worries he has. “Loadin’ up the cart, retail therapy / I ain’t takin’ care of me, I’m eatin’, well barely / Workin’ on my album, how? With no clarity.” We wish the best for Blxst and congratulate him for his perseverance and the fantastic track.

Armand Hammer Announce New Vinyl-Only Album

For big fans of billy woods and Elucid, there’s a chance to get some new music soon. The duo, who rap together as Armand Hammer, just announced a quick follow-up album to last year’s We Buy Diabetic Test Strips. The critically acclaimed project will be succeeded by a new album called BLK LBL. The project has some impressive collaborators with features from Dreamcrusher and Zeroh. It also has production credits from JPEGMAFIA, Aesop Rock, and DJ Haram. The album was announced by the Twitter account of their label Backwoodz Studioz, but there’s a catch.

Fans looking to hear BLK LBL will only have one way to get their hands on the songs. The album is exclusively available on vinyl and it’s only being sold at upcoming Armand Hammer shows. The duo’s label confirmed that the record won’t appear on streaming and that there are no plans to make it available for purchase on Bandcamp. While they did suggest that it would be made available at select pop-ups for fans who can’t make a show, that still makes it a pretty rare find. billy woods is one of the most prolific rappers around. In addition to the new Armand Hammer album he also released his second collaboration with producer Kenny Segal last year. They originally collaborated on the album Hiding Places in 2019 before following up with Maps last year. The album had features from Danny Brown, Quelle Chris, Elucid, Aesop Rock, and more.

Denzel Curry Comes To Joey Badass’ Defense After Fans Dislike New Snippet

Earlier this week, Joey Badass took to Instagram to share a new snippet of music with fans. But the track had a very different feel than what many are expecting when he drops new music. It followed in the footsteps of his song “Fallin’” last year which took his sound in a more R&B-influenced direction. The new preview sounds similar even making use of electronic vocal effects and auto-tune over Joey’s singing. But fans expecting more straightforward rap music flooded the comments with their opinions.

In response to the negative reaction, Denzel Curry came to Joey’s defense. The two have crossed paths musically before, teaming up for the fan-favorite “Zenith,” a standout cut from Curry’s 2016 album Imperial. Curry took to Twitter to stand up for Joey’s right to expand his range artistically. “I Support my brother Joey Bada$$ new Art and you shouldn’t hold people back for trying new things if you like 1999 then go listen to 1999 it’s on streaming platforms,” his tweet reads. Even then some fans still tried to come into the comments dissing Joey’s new output though some of the most popular replies are in support of both artists. Gunna And Turbo Recruit Some Classic Music Video Starlets For New “Bachelor” Visuals

Back in November, Gunna and one of his frequent collaborators Turbo teamed up for a new song called “Bachelor.” The track has been pretty successful in the months since racking up more than 13 million streams. It’s the second time the rapper has lent a verse to an official Turbo song following “QUARANTINE CLEAN” which also featured Young Thug. Those streaming numbers are about to get a significant uptick following the release of the song’s new music video.

The visuals for “Bachelor” were teased ahead of time as a major event and they didn’t disappoint. For the video there are some typical shots of Turbo playing the piano and Gunna delivering his lines in fittingly luxurious imagery. But it’s the other stars of the video that are making waves. They recruited an all-star cast of video vixens who stared in some of the most iconic rap videos of the 2000’s to appear in the new video. Headliners include Eboni Jackson, Tammy Torres, KD Aubert, and more. Lil Yachty Catches Heat From Fans Online For New Megan Thee Stallion Bar

A new Lil Yachty lyric has the rapper in trouble with music fans once again. It comes just a few months after an NSFW reference to Billie Eilish during an appearance on Drake’s new album For All The Dogs got him in similarly hot water. While Billie herself laughed the lyric off many of her fans took it as disrespectful. That’s the case once again following a new lyric that directly references Megan Thee Stallion and her shooting incident with Tory Lanez.

Funny enough, Drake himself was one of the first rappers to get in trouble for referencing Megan on a song. A track from his collaborative album with 21 Savage Her Loss featured a bar implying he didn’t believe Megan’s telling of the events. In a new collaboration with DONTKALLMELUXXY called “SYDNEY” Yachty makes the same mistake of writing about the situation. “Better watch where you step or get treated like Megan Thee Stallion,” the lyric in question reads. The lyric is an attempted double meaning as Megan was notoriously shot in the foot by Tory Lanez. Unsurprisingly, the lyric was met with massive backlash online. Check out the bar in question below.

Fans online conjured plenty of backlash against the lyric. Subsequently, many called it completely unnecessary as it doesn’t serve any important role song at all. It’s also gaining quite a bit of traction on Twitter as numerous high-profile accounts have shared clips of the controversial lyric. Lil Yachty’s relentless run is seemingly never going to end at this point. The eccentric rapper hailing from Georgia arguably has the biggest year in 2023 out of anyone. Now, he is back once again with someone who he is familiar with, but not many may know.

DontKallMeLuxxy is also a rapper and he is from Brooklyn, New York. His career is pretty minimal even though he has been dropping since 2017. He has dropped five singles in the past year or so and has one album to his name. That would be Bishop, which dropped right around the time he got his start. As we mentioned, he and Yachty have a history together. Together they dropped a track called “Trance” in 2020.

Young Miko – BZRP Music Sessions #58

If you are from Puerto Rico, then you probably already know who Young Miko is. She is an incredible young artist who can rap and sing like no one else. During her recent BZRP Music Session, she got to show off just how versatile she really is. From the stylish vocals on the hook to the blistering transition that showcases her rap skills, Miko is talented like no one else. Furthermore, her charisma is very much apparent, and we can only imagine where else she will go from here on out. For those who want to get into the Puerto Rican scene, Miko is a great start.

Cool Company – Know It’s Real

Secondly, we have Cool Company who delivered a gorgeous ballad with “Know It’s Real.” They have a new album out called Know Better and it is absolutely worth a listen. This duo knows how to craft songs and their visuals are also second to none. Gorgeous vocal melodies are mixed with melancholic guitars for a r&b and pop crossovers that are going to bless your ears. Ayoolii – Uncle Sam

Subsequently, we have Milwaukee sensation Ayoolii. In case you haven’t noticed, Milwaukee rap is having a huge moment. Numerous artists are blowing up right now and Ayoolii is one of them. He produces and raps, which makes him a hot commodity in the city. With his song “Uncle Sam,” Ayoolii shows off an immense amount of personality. Ghais Guevara – Flowers

Ghais Guevara is an underground artist out of Philadelphia who is gaining quite a bit of traction online. Overall, he is someone who has captured the attention of fans and his peers thanks to his clever raps about socioeconomic and geopolitical issues. Furthermore, his production style is absolutely off-the-wall insane. His use of vocal samples is a mixture of electronic legend Burial and JPEGMAFIA. Moreover, his flow is infectious and he knows how to grab your attention from the first bar onward.

untiljapan – Good Comme

untiljapan is an artist that emphasizes their visuals and is content with being a quasi-anonymous figure. Regardless, their music sounds amazing. On the track “Good Comme,” we get some melodic wind instrument samples with some uptempo drums that fit the sonic aesthetic perfectly. Meanwhile, untiljapan delivers autotuned vocals that are mumbled at times, leading to some unique results. Ultimately, if you want to hear something fresh, look no further than right here.

The name of the track is “Still Play Valorant” and this is not a single. Rather, it is closer to the collective’s most recent full-length project, Rolling Stone. With all of the major releases this past weekend, it took some time to get to it. However, we are glad we are able to share it. One of the best parts of this cut is the production hands down.
