6ix9ine Scam Almost Went Down, Donz Stacks Says, But He Chose Not To Do It

Even years after his initial rise and fall in the rap game, 6ix9ine is still a hot topic of conversation around the community. Moreover, New York drill rapper Donz Stacks recently appeared on No Jumper with Adam22 and Skinnyfromthe9 to talk about the rainbow-haired MC, among many other topics. One of the things they discussed was an opportunity that Stacks had to scam him out of some cash, which he said his entourage was a big fan of. However, he didn’t end up doing so, and also spoke on the implications of him working with a “snitch.” Donz stood by his clean record in that regard, and said that people just have to get their bag in more ways than one.

Another 6ix9ine topic that they discussed was his controversial collaboration with Kodak Black. Well, that was controversial for Yak and less so for Tekashi, but still, it’s something that even caused beef to ensue between various rap figures involved. In fact, the No Jumper conversation even points to 6ix9ine’s manager, Wack 100, wanting to sign Donz Stacks. However, despite this initial wish, because of how his client’s relationship with Donz soured, Stacks thinks that he wouldn’t be able to be as warm and welcoming now.

Meanwhile, this is all the least of the “GOOBA” artist’s worries right now, as he’s dealing will legal trouble both in the States and overseas. For example, a court recently ordered him to pay $10 million to an alleged assault victim because he failed to show up in court. Not only that, but the alleged victim claims that 6ix9ine tried to hide all his assets and deliberately block her attempts to get compensation for her troubles. Whether he eventually coughs it up is a question for another time.

As Tekashi waits in the Dominican Republic, where he’s supposed to stay for six months because of other legal trouble, it seems like he’s building up a lot to answer for. While his hype as an artist died down, we’re sure that he will always have an antic up his sleeve or some big case that will draw a lot of interest. Lil Wayne recently welcomed Tyga as the latest special guest on Young Money Radio on Apple Music, and they had a pretty great conversation. Moreover, the two hitmakers discussed the latter’s new collab album with YG, their current day-to-day, next moves, and what inspires them artistically. Particularly, they talked about what motivates their work ethic and the figures that taught them to constantly nurture their craft in the studio. Of course, there are probably plenty of names that popped into your head when considering this question for this duo. But if you’re a hip-hop head that knows each of their career trajectories, then there are two names that really stand out that you’d be right in assuming.

Furthermore, Lil Wayne and Tyga thanked Birdman and his brother Slim of Cash Money Records for their tutelage. For example, the former explained how their constant grind inspired him to regularly hit the studio up, even amid tours or other commitments. The California MC shared a similar sentiment, agreeing that they definitely showed him the way towards success with their dedication. Perhaps most importantly, both rappers emphasized how their love of music is what fuels much of this determination.

In particular, Weezy seemed to refer to André 3000’s comments on rapping at age 40, although he didn’t seem to name-drop the Outkast legend in his remarks. Regardless, the message definitely came across.

Lenny Kravitz Believes Black Media Has Ignored His Contributions To Music

Lenny Kravitz is one of the biggest rock artists of the late 1990s and 2000s, cranking out hit after hit and making a name for himself as one of the genre’s main commercial exponents of the time. However, in his view, there was always one blind spot when it came to his appeal. Moreover, the superstar musician recently spoke in an interview cover story on how Black media like BET or The Source Awards doesn’t give him his due flowers despite his accolades from other organizations and his art as a whole. It’s very hard to pinpoint why this could be the case, but it’s nevertheless an interesting and important conversation to have.

“To this day, I have not been invited to a BET thing or a Source Awards thing,” Lenny Kravitz expressed. “And it’s like, here is a Black artist who has reintroduced many Black art forms, who has broken down barriers. Just like those that came before me broke down. That is positive. And they don’t have anything to say about it?” On social media, many users debated as to why this is, bringing up other examples and using different forms of analyses. It’s also worth noting that he has no shortage of collaborations with other Black artists.

For example, many pointed out that Prince did not have this issue despite falling into the rock realm that Lenny Kravitz inhabits. In addition, folks debated whether rock music is considered a Black art form in the 21st century, with many rightfully pointing out that the genre owes its existence to African Americans. Furthermore, they posited this as a reason as to why maybe these outlets haven’t given him his due recognition, even with his recent work that can fall on the shoulders of his legacy. Others called into question the 59-year-old’s quality of output over the years, and the theory that he never really presented himself as an artist for Black media to celebrate in the first place.

On that last note, some people believe that Kravitz always aimed for a white audience, but he became too big of an artist that is still relevant today for this to truly be the case. As such, this is still up for debate and perhaps we will never truly know why. For now, though, we can use this as a learning example, especially when genre blends are more commonplace than ever in the industry. T.I. Regrets Gucci Mane Reconciliation Not Happening Sooner

For fans of the Atlanta trap scene- or rap in general, at this point- the feud between T.I. and Gucci Mane should come as no surprise. For those unaware, though, a brief history: back in 2012, Gucci and Jeezy were also at odds, with Tip siding firmly with the latter. Then, Guwop took shots at his Atlanta trap predecessor, which he dodged by deeming him as unimportant, and later claimed that he invented trap music, which T.I. was obviously quick to correct. Furthermore, a couple more shots were fired, there were some more claims and side-taking, but things died down a little bit in the coming years.

As such, it was a welcome and heartening surprise when the two rappers patched things up at Gucci Mane’s Breath Of Fresh Air album release party in October of this year in their home city. However, T.I. thinks that they should’ve landed on this bread-breaking way sooner. Moreover, he reflected on this with DJ Whoo Kid on his podcast Whoo’s House last week (at press time). While the Trap Muzik icon doesn’t necessarily see it as a thing to “make up” over, he did acknowledge that they let things go too far in their beef.

“I don’t know what you mean by ‘made up;’ you make up with a girlfriend,” T.I. told the host, which could’ve been a joke or a serious issue with how the story is framed. However, one crucial and very revealing part of the conversation regards the tragic loss of his Migos partner, Takeoff. Moreover, the Georgia trap icon explained why he hasn’t yet released a full tribute track or any form of music or content dedicated to Take. His words ring especially true in a time in which fans want music like this to not only resonate emotionally, but perform commercially.

This pressure, plus the vibes that ‘Set went for on Set It Off, went at odds with the heart and message he wants to put into his art to cathartically and respectfully pay homage to his fallen friend. “It’s way more fun,” Offset remarked about his project. “I didn’t want to talk about tragedy. “My very first job was working at this place called Magic Fit Sneakers,” SZA recalled during the interview. “I guess that’s where I learned how to talk to people. It was like my first job with commission ever, but that was also my first job. I always had the highest sales at any commission job.” “Annoying probably,” the “Rich Baby Daddy” hitmaker said of what her co-workers would think of her. “Like, really talkative, but like, I could sell anything.”

The Will Smith allegations just keep on rolling in the media, most of which surfaced from his former friend Brother Bilaal’s interview with blogger Tasha K. Moreover, this resulted in the bombshell claim that Bilaal saw Will and Duane Martin having intercourse, which Jada Pinkett Smith and her husband might sue for regarding defamatory claims. However, there’s another scandalous and unfounded thing he spoke on that has actually been part of the gossip train for a while. This relates to Marc Anthony, who was with Jennifer Lopez at the time, cheating on her with Jada, who remains with the actor to this day.

Furthermore, this is another installment in a long-running series around conversations around the Smiths’ alleged or proven infidelity. Back to the story, though: Brother Bill claims that Jada Pinkett Smith and Marc Anthony had a romantic relationship on the set of the show Hawthorne. While Will was apparently fine with this according to Brother Bilaal, even as gossip outlets reported on it, the “final straw” was when he allegedly caught his wife and the singer having intercourse on their couch. This, Brother Bilaal says, “devastated” Will and led him into suicidal thoughts, whereas he also claimed that this prompted Anthony’s divorce from Jennifer Lopez.

Of course, this is all baseless, speculative, and inflammatory gossip from one man, so take this with a huge grain of salt. If anything, it’s ironic how this interview and other allegations actually put Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith in the same camp. Before, during the actress’ promo run for her memoir Worthy, she solely spoke from her perspective on how rocky their relationship was. Now, though, it seems like they’re both committed to defending each other and fighting against what they call lies and blatant attacks.

Meanwhile, all this drama is taking place as the Fresh Prince remains pretty tight-lipped, other than at least two instances addressing it. One was a video of him sleeping through a bumpy boat ride, indicating that he’s unfazed by the chaos. Another was an email to The New York Times that supported the Baltimore native on her journey and opened up to her emotional nuances. Of course, they also had time to address wild tour stories, aliens, and other fun topics.

Even though he might not be the biggest household name these days, the New Jersey native holds a lot of respect within hip-hop. Whether it’s through his work with other legends or his presence and knowledge in the culture, he has quite the impressive resumé. Sure, there are also the parts of this story that fall more into the gossip side of things, especially with recent revelations. For example, Will Smith was scared to go on a date with Pepa because she and Treach were on a break at the time. Needless to say, the actor didn’t really want that smoke with him, both out of respect and fear for his life.

Tyler, The Creator and everyone’s favorite Internet interview sleuth, Nardwuar, go way back- at least over twelve years, in fact. As such, it’s always heartening to see them link up, because few figures are so perfect for each other’s brand, passions, vibes, and humor. Moreover, the two linked up for their fifth interview at the rapper’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in Los Angeles. Backstage, they chopped it up about their history, the festival, Tyler’s influences, the gifts that The Human Serviette had for him, and so much more. We won’t spoil the whole thing for you, though; few music media treats are as wholesome and compelling as a Narduwar interview first-watch.

However, something from this interview that lit the Internet up was Tyler, The Creator’s comments on music journalism. “We’re at a point where a musician talking in detail about music and people are like ‘Why does he keep doing that?’” he remarked. “But if I was on here gossiping, people would feed into it. We need to get back to talking about music. We need to stop f***ing going sneaker shopping or deep-throating chicken wings for an hour.”

Of course, this made many people come to the media’s defense, particularly for Sean Evans of Hot Ones, while others completely agree with the “WHARF TALK” creative. A few hours after these comments started to make rounds on social media, Tyler, The Creator clarified that he doesn’t hold any hard feelings for Hot Ones and wishes that he would’ve used a different example. After all, he agrees that shows like this are not the problem, and actually has other podcasts or programs that he actually dislikes. Overall, it seems like the Hawthorne native just wants more of a balance between deep conversation and some fun.

Few artists fall into that “fun” bag as organically, respectfully, and interestingly as Nardwuar, so it’s clear that having less serious discussion isn’t the issue here. I mean, we’re talking about Mr. “So you just gon’ bring me a birthday gift on my birthday to my birthday party on my birthday with a birthday gift?” here. Even if people may think he has a big ego- and he would agree– it’s because of how passionate he is and how he wants to talk about his love of music, not about whatever Twitter is up in arms about. During a recent interview with Adam22 and Lena The Plug on No Jumper, the model explained how their breakup was very hard for her. Not only was it a long process, but you can tell that it was also born out of mutual love and an acknowledgement that things just weren’t going to work.

“With Wiz, I cried for, like, three years straight [following the split],” Amber Rose recalled. The three were discussing how letting go of relationships is sometimes easy, something that people look forward to, or something that folks relish in the moment. But she explained that things weren’t that simple for them, especially since they had a child to take care of that elongated the leftover feelings and healing process. “No, for Wiz, for sure. That was the love of my life. That’s why I said I can’t apply that to Wiz. But yeah, I cried for, I used to just sit in the shower and be like, f**k.”
