Quaranta might be a crowning achievement for Danny Brown. What we mean by that is the rapper has stated publicly that he has dealt with a lot ahead of the release. His candidness is something he has shown in numerous interviews and one the Detroit MC did with The Guardian proves that tenfold. He was suffering a tough stretch during the COVID pandemic, something that really took a toll on everyone in their own way. After breaking up with someone he really loved, Brown was spiraling. “I’m in this nice-ass apartment, it was like four bedrooms, but I’m lonely as f***. It got to the point I was just getting f****d up, every day, by myself.”

Brown continues to detail, “It was seven days a week. I was in pain all the time. Throwing up and s***, you know? It was my rock bottom.” However, he was able to find that resolve and climb out of that. Now, he is back doing what he loves, making music. He references that on the opening title track. That is a standout moment and another one of them is “Dark Sword Angel.” What makes this song great, is Danny’s signature mix of funny and serious. The opening lyrics are a sign that he is feeling great about where he is and where his career is going.

His gut-busting humor, along with his ability to get serious at the drop of a hat, has made him an extremely versatile artist. Brown’s sound may not be for everyone, but his individualism makes him one of the more memorable figures in hip-hop. Quaranta is Danny’s sixth studio album and first since his 2019 effort, uknowhatimsayin¿ This project is sort of a sequel to his 2011 tape, XXX, which is the Roman numeral for 30. If you took any Italian in school, Quaranta translates to 40. The Detroit rapper turned 40 back in 2021 and he wanted to make this LP about how much his life has changed in the past 10 years.

Trippie Redd Announces “SAINT MICHAEL V2” With 10 New Songs

Earlier this month, Trippie Redd released his new EP SAINT MICHAEL. The seven-track project included fan-favorite single “Van Cleef Island” and a collaboration with BANKS on the song “Saint Michael Meyers.” Now, Trippie has confirmed a full version of the project called SAINT MICHAEL V2 that will extend the original tracklist to a full album length. The new project is due to drop later this month, exactly two weeks after the original EP dropped.

Trippie Redd Announces Full Version Of New EP

SAINT MICHAEL V2 will be the third full-length project Trippie has dropped this year. All the way back in January, he released his album MANSION MUSIK. The massive 25-track project featured tons of high-profile appearances. Chief Keef, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Nardo Wick, Future, Juice WRLD, and many more make appearances on the album.

He followed that up with the 5th edition of his fan-favorite mixtape series A Love Letter To You. That album featured Roddy Ricch, Lil Wayne, and The Kid LAROI among even more big names. Playboi Carti Promises New Album Is “Coming Soon” Amid Rescheduled Europe Tour

SHOCKING NEWS: Playboi Carti is still teasing his new album with no concrete release date, single, or announcement in sight… and we can’t wait for it to land sometime in 2036. Jokes aside, there’s actually a few reasons as to why this particular hint has a bit more weight to it than usual. Moreover, he and the rest of his Opium crew (Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang) rescheduled their European Antagonist tour. Not only that, but this tour also hinted at the Atlanta MC being in album more, since this is a good promotional opportunity. Recently, DJ Akademiks and other outlets shared an official press release that blends these two worlds together.

“Playboi Carti Antagonist Tour UK and Europe dates rescheduled,” the statement reads. “New album coming soon. Opium label signees Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang set to support tour.” This is the second postponement that Antagonist faced. First announced in July of this year for a September start date in the U.S., it then changed to a European kickoff in November, followed by winter United States dates. From what Ticketmaster indicates at press time, the winter U.S. dates still stand, while the European shows don’t have an official rescheduled date.

Playboi Carti’s New Press Release: Rescheduled Dates & New Album Dropping Soon

Of course, what most fans really care about concerning this press release is that Playboi Carti is hopefully dropping an album very soon. Furthermore, this follows an avalanche of leaks, acclaimed performances, low-profile social media activity, and the general buzz that such an ardent fanbase creates around the most minute of details. We can’t say that we didn’t fall into this excitement, either. After all, Whole Lotta Red is as relevant as ever despite the “Choppa Won’t Miss” MC’s legal trouble.

As such, there’s a lot of excitement for what his next phase will look like: will it be a completely new sound or are we revisiting his Cash Carti, psych-punk, or vamp era? While these rescheduled dates are very unfortunate, hopefully it means that the Opium crew will be able to give fans the show that they want and deserve, and also an experience that they feel proud and able to present, as well. Andre 3000 Says Writing Raps “Feel Inauthentic” To Him

This week, Andre 3000 has rushed back into the public eye. That came after he announced his new album New Blue Sun. The announcement surprised fans as Andre has repeatedly denied speculation that he was working on a new project. But he quickly set expectations for fans by confirming that there would be “no bars.” The project is expected to be entirely instrumental and in a new interview with GQ he dove into why there isn’t any rapping included on the project.

“I’ve worked with some of the newest, freshest, youngest, and old-school producers. I get beats all the time. I try to write all the time. […] Even now people think, Oh, man, he’s just sitting on raps, or he’s just holding these raps hostage. I ain’t got no raps like that,: he explained. But despite his best efforts, he hasn’t conjured much material he believes in. ““It actually feels…sometimes it feels inauthentic for me to rap because I don’t have anything to talk about in that way. Andre 3000 Explains Why He Isn’t Dropping Rap Music

Shortly after announcing his new album, Andre 3000 also shared the tracklist. It features numerous exceedingly long and very rambling song titles. “I swear, I Really Wanted To Make A “Rap” Album But This Is Literally The Way The Wind Blew Me This Time” and “Dreams Once Buried Beneath The Dungeon Floor Slowly Sprout Into Undying Gardens” are just two of the tracks the album has to offer.

NLE Choppa Officially Converts To Islam

Converting to Islam is something that rappers have been doing on and off for a long time recently. It’s nothing new to see even modern rappers getting in touch with their faith. Earlier this year Lil Durk shared some pictures to Instagram where he did just that. Recently, Finesse2Tymes expressed his interest in converting to Islam when he finished his new album. And now, NLE Choppa is joining them and all the rappers that came before them.

A new video of Choppa officially converting made its way online earlier this week. While it’s unclear when exactly the video is from, this is the first most fans had heard of his official conversion. Though the clip is short it seems to confirm Choppa’s commitment to the decision. In the comments of multiple reposts of the video online fans give him credit for the move. NLE Choppa Converting To Islam

Earlier this year, NLE Choppa released his new album Cottonwood 2. It was a follow-up to his 2020 studio album From Light To Dark and Choppa has absolutely made the most of the new project. He’s released a variety of different versions of the project including a deluxe edition, an instrumental version, a slowed-down version, and a sped-up version. The newest edition of the album is a Deluxe 2.0 edition which adds even more tracks. The grand total of material on the newest version of the project is a full 40 songs that runs more than 2 hours.

Last month, Choppa was at the center of one of the strangest viral rap stories of the year. His mother had to take to social media to ask is anybody knew where he was as he had disappeared. Lupe Fiasco Wants To Rap Over Andre 3000’s New Album

Earlier this week, Andre 3000 announced that he was dropping a new album very soon. The long-awaited solo project from Andre had fans immediately hyped, but he made sure to include an important caveat right away. He describes the album as having “no bars.” Instead of being a rap album the Outkast member is dropping an instrumental project made predominately of flute compositions. The album is called New Blue Sun and it’s dropping this Friday, November 15.

While plenty of people are excited for the project even though it isn’t a proper rap album, Lupe Fiasco seems to have the answers for fans looking for something more hip-hop flavored. Even though there’s no indication he has even heard the album yet, he’s promising to rap over it. “Gonna rap all over that 3stacks album and put it in the time capsule for future generations,” Lupe said in a tweet earlier today.
