Sukihana Updates Fans On Her Life And New Music

Sukihana has been surprisingly quiet recently and she took to Instagram to explain why to her fans. “To all my fans I’m working on on my project I have a lot of good coochie music coming. I love y’all so much. I just needed to move into my house and get my kids right cause I’m a mother first,” she said in a long post shared to her story. But that wasn’t the only thing she shared with fans. She also hyped up her upcoming tour while sharing some of the music she’s been listening to with fans.

But the end of her message is what has most people talking. She describes her relationship status in a way that left some fans concerned. She discusses that she’s still dating someone selling percs and even got a new name tattooed on her. While some fans in the comments showed off their concerns, many just expressed apathy for Suki. “Everything I’ve learned about this lady has been against my will,” and “I wonder what’s this woman’s budget is for posting her because I guarantee you we did not ask for this info and majority of people don’t care,” two of the top comments read. Check out her full post and the fan reactions below.

Sukihana Provides An Update

Last week Sukihana avoided a major drama with Sexyy Red. She dropped a new track that seemed like it might have lyrics addressing Red’s recent sex tape leaking scandal. Thankfully some internet detectives were around to pick out the context clues and prove that there was no connection. The pair appear to still be on good terms after the controversy died down.

Just before that scandal took off Sukihana expressed interest in collaborating with Drake on music. Seemingly by coincidence, right after that Sexyy Red appeared on a song from Drake’s new album called “Rich Baby Daddy.” What do you think about Sukihana sharing a concerning life update with fans? Let us know in the comment section below.

42 Dugg Has Been Released From Prison

Detroit rapper 42 Dugg has reportedly been released from prison after being sentenced to a year for failing to report to prison after violating his probation from a previous illegal weapons possession conviction. According to Complex and The Fader, the 28-year-old rapper, best known for his songs with Lil Baby, “Grace” and “We Paid,” could be seen in a photo shared by his publicist being embraced by CMG label founder Yo Gotti as they celebrated his release. Yo Gotti also posted a video on Instagram of their reunion.

42 Dugg was apparently able to avoid a much stiffer penalty after pleading guilty to failing to surrender himself for his prior sentence in March. He had been sentenced to six months in camp for violating his probation from a 2010 conviction for carjacking and felony firearms possession. In 2019, he was seen hanging out at an Atlanta shooting range, loading and firing guns, and was arrested in March 2020. Initially, he was only to serve three years of probation and pay a $90,000 fine but was arrested in Las Vegas for obstructing law enforcement and testing positive for opiates.

He was supposed to show up at prison camp in Virginia in April 2022 but failed to report, allegedly avoiding police for a month. Prosecutors said he had tried to claim he was a sovereign citizen exempt from federal laws, while according to his lawyers, it was an honest mistake, as he was seeking an appeal for the 2021 conviction and said he did not know he still had to surrender himself.

Jam Master Jay Murder Suspect Claims To Have Evidence To Prove His Innocence

Jay Bryant, one of three suspects in the murder of Jam Master Jay will officially be tried separately. Brooklyn Federal Court Judge LaShann DeArcy Hall made the ruling earlier this month. Bryant claims that if he is tried alongside his co-defendants, Ronald Washington and Karl Jordan Jr., they’ll point the blame at one another, complicating the trial.

“Bryant argues that ‘there is no plausible scenario’ in which his co-defendants do not turn to the third-party witness their claims of innocence,” Hall wrote. “And at argument, Bryant invited the court to ‘read the tea leaves’ on this issue. I have. Upon a searching review of the record, it is clear that at least Jordan has sufficiently telegraphed that he intends to call the third-party witness to whom Bryant made his alleged admission.” Bryant’s attorney, Cesar de Castro, plans to present “three irreconcilable theories” to the jury. Firstly, he will portray Bryant as innocent, secondly, that he acted alone as the shooter, and thirdly, that he was involved but didn’t fire a gun.

Federal prosecutors’ case focuses on them claiming Bryant already admitted to pulling the trigger, that he was seen entering the studio during the incident, and that he has been linked to the crime scene by DNA evidence. They believe Washington and Jordan wanted revenge for Jam Master Jay cutting them out of a 10-kilo cocaine deal. Further complicating the process, Bryant’s defense claims it was Jordan who fired the fatal shots. Jordan’s legal team conversely plans to call a witness who will implicate Bryant.

Jam Master Jay was shot and killed inside his studio in Jamaica, Queens in 2002. No arrests in the case were made until 2020 when authorities booked Jordan and Washington. During his career, he was best known as the DJ for the iconic group, Run-DMC. Be on the lookout for further updates on the trial on HotNewHipHop.

Offset Reveals How He Mended Relationship With Cardi B After Cheating

Though nowadays Offset and Cardi B are one of hip hop’s most iconic power couples, things between them haven’t always been perfect. During his recent appearance on Call Her Daddy, Offset opened up about mending his relationship with Cardi after cheating on her in 2017. According to him, the key to rebuilding the trust that was lost in the debacle has been communication.

“First off by like respecting her position, right?” he said of rebuilding trust with Cardi. “We’re both public figures, we’re both in the eyes of people. Stop being selfish. You’re married to this woman, be dedicated to this woman. And also, just like being more communicative about sh*t. Like, we just talk more and, because, you know, work was getting in the way, sometimes and it was like, [phew] and we would talk all the time but communication is key. If you don’t like some sh*t, tell me, and if I don’t like some sh*t, I’ll tell you. We talk and communication is key. Not communicating f*cks sh*t up.”

Last week, the former Migos performer dropped off his second solo album, Set It Off, which includes two Cardi B features. Ahead of the release, Cardi was very vocal about her support for her husband, with whom she shares two children.

“I’m so proud of him,” she wrote on Twitter. “He really put his heart, sweat, and tears in this.” Offset also went all out for the “Bongos” rapper’s birthday earlier this month, surprising her with an extravagant display of rose petals and balloons. “You always go beyond for me,” she told him. What do you think of how Offset rebuilt trust with Cardi B after cheating on her? Lady Leshurr Accused Of Attacking, Biting Ex’s Girlfriend

Lady Leshurr appeared in court earlier this week for an alleged altercation that took place in October of last year. The UK-based rapper is accused of waiting outside of her ex-girlfriend’s house for her and her new partner to arrive, and then attacking them. She had been arrested at the time along with another woman, Sherelle Smith.

According to her ex’s then-partner, Leshurr allegedly “bit her on the hand,” though the rapper denies it. She further claims that she “suffered a number of injuries” as a result of the alleged attack. Leshurr alleges that her ex’s partner tried to turn her pet dog on her, which she says resulted in her getting bitten. She further alleges that she was “punched in the head and stamped on by” her ex’s girlfriend.

Lady Leshurr Denies Bite Allegations

The trial remains ongoing as prosecutors try to determine who bit who. This isn’t the only drama Lady Leshurr’s gotten wrapped up in as of late, however. Last year, the performer called out Cardi B on social media, asking the hitmaker to give her a cut of her song “Cheap A** Weave.” Allegedly, she contributed beats to the 2015 track. “You mind asking Cardi if she can break me off a likkle change she used my beat/idea before her big break and is now a millionaire and I got paid 0 [pleading face emoji],” she wrote. This prompted a response from Cardi, who said she only “made like 2 dollars of that song.” She was sure to offer Lady Leshurr the other dollar, however.

Cardi later said she’d be pulling the track from all streaming services, and promised to send Lady Leshurr her cut. What do you think of Lady Leshurr being accused of biting her ex’s partner? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Lady Leshurr.

Tupac Was Extremely Close To Signing With Bad Boy Records According To His Brother

Tupac’s mystique will never die and this recent news drop is another reason why. More and more information about the murder of the legendary artist continues to come out. We finally have more headway on who committed the crime and we are sure more will be unearthed. This latest bit of information circles back to Tupac’s musical career. As most people know, he was a part of Death Row Records. It is the label that associates itself with names like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Suge Knight, Nate Dogg, and so many other legends. However, Tupac had a chance to join another iconic music group.

According to HipHopDX, the brother of the late rapper, Mopreme Shakur recently spoke with The Art of Dialogue. In the interview, Mopreme revealed some interesting news. When ‘Pac was released from jail in 1995, he was seriously considering joining Bad Boy Records. Mopreme said, “There was a point ‘Pac was considering going to Bad Boy before his relationship with Death Row. He wanted to be on a Black label… He wanted to be with the brothers.”

Mopreme Shakur Explains What Went Down With Tupac

However, it never worked out that way, obviously. What ultimately led to Tupac inking the contract with Death Row, was some battle of powers. Namely, Diddy had more say and control, according to Mopreme. “Over time, things happened, and ‘Pac started seeing things. Biggie was on Puffy’s label so with them two, it was Puffy calling the shots. There was some legitimate problems there.” It would have been incredible to see both of the biggest rappers in the world be on the same label. Who knows what material we could have gotten.

What are your initial thoughts on Mopreme Shakur saying that Tupac was really close to signing with Bad Boy Records? Do you think that he should have inked the deal? Would this have changed the landscape for hip-hop labels going forward? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest breaking news around Tupac, as well as everything else going on around the music world.

Cardi B Previews New Music

Cardi B previewed some unreleased music on social media, earlier this week. The stream comes as she continues to work on her highly-anticipated sophomore album. When The Neighborhood Talk shared the clip on Instagram, fans had mixed responses to the song.

“When are ppl and the industry/media gonna be honest about Cardi?” one hater wrote. “She’s the most coddled artist in history and doesn’t even have the talent to deserve the grace she’s been given. Other actual talented artists have been dragged for a lot less.” Another added: “All her music sound like pandemic raps. You can tell they were made years ago.”

Cardi B has been building to the release of her next album for years at this point. She dropped her critically acclaimed debut, Invasion of Privacy, back in 2018. She recently explained the reason for the delay while appearing on Ebro in the Morning. “Then on top of that, everything just has to be like perfect from everything because I feel like people are expecting so much,” she said. “For my first album, I didn’t get to do not even half the things I wanted to do because I was super super duper pregnant. I missed out on a lot of videos I wanted to do, I missed out on touring — I just missed out on a lot of things, so I just gotta make sure that everything is just planned out.” She also confirmed the project will drop sometime in 2024.

Cardi B Blown Away By WNBA Mascot’s “Bongos” Challenge Video

Cardi B said the “Bongos” challenge video featuring New York Liberty mascot Ellie “put me to shame” as the rapper happily gave her flowers to the elephant. The video that saw Ellie do the viral dance trend came after the Liberty kept themselves alive in the WNBA Finals, taking Game 3 87-73 to earn their first win of the best-of-five.

“Bongos” was the late summer collab between Cardi and Megan Thee Stallion, marking a high-octane reunion for the duo behind “WAP”. The song peaked at #14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and sparked a TikTok trend. Furthermore, it sparked a wave of celebration amongst Cardi’s fans as it surpassed Nicki Minaj’s “Last Time I Saw You” in terms of charting success.

Liberty Look To Even The Season

Hopefully, Ellie’s dancing can propel the Liberty to another win as they look to tie up the series. The Liberty trail 2-1 after the Aces opened the series with back-to-back decisive wins. Working in favor of the Liberty is several major injuries for the Aces. Both Chelsea Gray and Kiah Stokes are suffering foot injuries with no clear timeline for their return. While coach Becky Hammon was reluctant to speak on the situation, Gray is likely to be done for the season while Stokes could return for a potential Game 5.

However, the Aces remained calm and collected in the face of the significant losses. “We do have people that can step up. Even though Chels isn’t on the floor, you guys will see her drawing on the board in timeouts and just being a voice for us. I’ll be looking over at the bench at her, just seeing whatever reads she seeing. She will be talking to me a lot. So she’ll still have a big impact,” guard Jackie Young said. “What doesn’t show up on the stat sheet is Chelsea’s leadership. Her decision-making, her making big plays on offense and defense. It’s really tough. But we’re not a traditional team in that the fluidity of the way we play with multiple guards helps us. But it’s going to be about the whole team elevating themselves for the game,” added Kelsey Plum.

Nicki Minaj’s “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” LP Turns 11

After the widespread success of her debut album, Pink Friday, Nicki Minaj capitalized on her expanding fanbase. Not only did she have a secure hold over Hip Hop heads, but she had also become a certified pop star as well. In 2012, she released her sophomore studio album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. On the album, Nicki Minaj ventured deep into dance-pop, creating a diverse body of work unlike anything she’d ever done.

Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded might have been initially seen as a gamble for Nicki, but its commercial success proved it was all worth it. Housing her many notable songs, including “Starships” and “Pound the Alarm,” Nicki excellently toed the line between multiple genres. It’s been 11 years since the album was released, but the project and its songs have remained fan favorites. With the release of Pink Friday 2 around the corner, it’s important to highlight this defining moment in Nicki Minaj’s illustrious discography.

All Aboard The Pink Friday Wagon

By the 2010s, Nicki Minaj had a firm grip on her Barbie moniker. With her debut mixtape, Playtime Is Over, she had already begun to gain fame as the “rapping Black Barbie.” In 2009, after the release of the Young Money Entertainment single “BedRock,” the title strongly began to stick. However, everything was taken up a notch with the release of Pink Friday in 2010. Nicki soon became synonymous with the moniker, and Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded kept the ball rolling.

Embracing Dance-Pop

Although Pink Friday included pop, the genre was much more evident on Roman Reloaded. Jumping on the inescapable EDM and dance-pop wave of the early 2010s, Nicki enlisted several producers for the project. Notable dance producers involved in Roman Reloaded include David Guetta, RedOne, Alex P, and Carl Falk. However, Nicki also stayed close to her Hip Hop roots, recruiting the likes of Hit-Boy, T-Minus, and DJ Blackout.

The Two Sides Of Nicki Minaj

In line with striking a balance between her separate sounds, Nicki Minaj split the album into two. The album’s first half was more Hip Hop leaning, while the second half was filled with party tracks. Many songs off Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded relished in mainstream success and still enjoy radio airplay over a decade later. Notably, Nicki’s alter-ego, Roman, also appeared on several tracks. However, the most prominent songs of the album were the dance-pop tracks.

The album’s lead single, “Starships,” was especially welcomed by many. The colorful, summery music video was shot in Hawaii and further helped to boost the song’s widespread appeal. The song subsequently won numerous awards, including the MTV Video Music Award for Best Female Video. “Starships” was a monster hit and peaked at the fifth spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Other singles released include the R&B-Hip Hop song “Right by My Side” featuring Chris Brown, “Beez in the Trap” featuring 2 Chainz, “Pound the Alarm,” and “Va Va Voom.” While none of these failed to match the success of “Starships,” they were widely appreciated by the fans. However, the genre inconsistencies with her single choices were frowned upon.

Reception

Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded was met with a mixed reception from critics. Due to the popularity of the album, however, it’s become treasured among the rapper’s fans. The album debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart, signaling a newfound triumph for the rapper. Although it pushed the artist firmly further into the pop stratosphere, the album still had enough Hip Hop elements to keep Nicki highly respected as a lyricist. Minaj hasn’t returned to such a pop-centric body of work since, so it’s imperative to recognize its importance. Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded was released when the world caught a dance-pop bug. Since then, she’s reverted to primarily Hip Hop but still borrows elements from other genres in her later works. That’s also why the album is worth celebrating—we may never get such a fun side to the Queen of Rap again.
