21 Savage Defends Metro Boomin After Soulja Boy Pops Off Over Resurfaced Tweet

Recently, an old Tweet of Metro Boomin’s resurfaced on Soulja Boy’s feed, prompting a heated response. During a chat with fans on Instagram Live last week, the “Crank That” performer took aim at the award-winning producer, calling him out for something he wrote back in 2012. “My phone rings to come to the studio with Jeezy,” it reads. “Yours rings to send Soulja Boy a pack of beats. Sit down.”

“I had a number one n***a when you was in motherf*ckin’ middle school,” he began. “That was 2007… F*ck is you talking about Metro Groomin?” From there, Soulja Boy told Metro to delete the Tweet. According to him, it’s disrespectful regardless of how old it is. “Go delete that Tweet… I don’t give a f*ck if it was three years old, I don’t give a f*ck if it was 20 years old,” he said.

Soulja Boy gave him 24 hours, though he failed to specify exactly what would happen if the Tweet wasn’t deleted. Shortly after, 21 Savage chimed in, writing “Or what.” It seems as though he’s sticking up for Metro Boomin here, which doesn’t come as too much of a surprise considering their history. It is curious, however, that he decided to jump on Soulja Boy after only a few remarks but remained mostly silent while nearly everyone went after Drake. He’s also kept quiet when Drake has dissed Metro throughout the whole “20 v 1” debacle and recent back and forth with Kendrick Lamar.

Commenters are questioning him in Akademiks’ Instagram comments section, arguing that it’s an odd time for him to step in. It’s possible that since Soulja Boy is on good terms with both Drake and Metro Boomin, at least as far as the public knows, he just doesn’t want to get involved. As for Soulja Boy, he doesn’t appear to have strong ties with 21 these days, which is likely why he felt comfortable checking him. The Game Claims Rick Ross Chickened Out Of Dropping Diss Track

One of the oddest remnants of the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef is another rap battle: an unfulfilled one between The Game and Rick Ross. We say “unfulfilled” because Rozay brushed off the Los Angeles rapper’s diss track against him, “Freeway’s Revenge,” through his typical social media trolling. However, according to The Documentary MC, he actually had an underwhelming response track ready, but chose to refrain from dropping it out of fear. Moreover, it’s obviously an unsubstantiated claim over an instigated feud, but he claimed victory in the Instagram post below while remarking on his own lyrical prowess.

“The cereal killer [duck emoji]’n this real smoke,” The Game wrote of Rick Ross over the weekend. “Scared to drop that nursey rhyme you recorded the other night I see lol… F**k it, a quick W for the home team & some real rap for the fans playlist. Posting very attainable cereal bowls, bottled up dog piss & crouching by cars like that’s gone get you outta this a** whoopin’. IT AINT !!!

Meanwhile, Rick Ross is not only dealing with this fallout (in which he’s made it clear he doesn’t care about The Game), but with the attacks he received for dissing Drake. Fans clowned his pretty empty concert the other day, revamping theories that Drizzy pulled a 50 Cent on him. Whether or not he really bought The Biggest Boss’ concert tickets will forever be a mystery. But either way, whether it’s from a titan or from a more low-key lyricist, it seems like he’s comfortable from behind the ‘Gram, not behind a mic.

Drake Seems To Wave The White Flag With New Instagram Story Post

Well, after almost two months of build-up, a full week of warfare, and about 11 years of anticipation, it seems like the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef is over. Moreover, the latter just posted the following message on his Instagram Story, captioning a painting of a lone samurai against an army with: “Good times. Summer vibes up next.” Of course, this is a pretty vague message, although the painting itself seems to reference the “20v1” that The Boy rapped about on “Push Ups” when much of the industry went against him. But what about this beef was exactly “good times,” and what does he mean by “summer vibes”?

According to some Drake fans who commented under the post below, they’re expecting some more bangers from him in the summertime to get back on schedule, prove his hit-making ability, and knock that “Not Like Us” diss track off the charts. They believe he won the battle by dropping “The Heart Part 6,” which Kendrick Lamar hasn’t responded to at press time. No matter where you fall on that debate, it’s fair to say that any victory was not just a close call, but a pretty dark one considering the allegations they levied at each other. Also, things got really serious in the Toronto superstar’s personal life in ways that aren’t directly connected to the beef, but surely made things more stressful.

Furthermore, it’s fair to say that both Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s next moves will carry a different sort of weight compared to the usual excitement around their drops. Fans will likely reach across the galaxy for subliminal diss theories, rejoice when Aubrey Graham makes a hit song, and unpack any elusive statement from Mr. Morale. They both gained incredible commercial success and record-breaking achievements as a result of their battle. At least for now, and in the traditional rap battle sense, it seems like things are done.

In a Saturday Night Live sketch tonight (May 10), Mikey Day played Hot Ones host Sean Evans in a parody of the iconic YouTube show. Joining Day was tonight’s (May 11) host, Rudolph, as the one-and-only Beyoncé.

Hot off the release of her latest album, Cowboy Carter, Rudolph’s Beyoncé reminds us that she’s a southern country queen. But the flavor and heat of the wings proves to be too much — even for the Queen Bey.

Rudolph’s Beyoncé takes to the first few wings pretty well. But by the time she tries the “Sergeant Sphincter’s Volcanpeño sauce, with a Scoville rating of 530,000,” she appears to meet her match.

“This wing is stompin’ my ass,” she said. “Damn, my bones are hot. That wing was a real one.”

But thanks to the help of Bey’s loyal assistant, De’Raphael (Kenan Thompson), the world, perhaps, might never see Beyoncé in this rather humbling scenario.

Gunna Teases Launch Of New Clothing Line

Gunna is planning to launch a new clothing line, next month, according to a billboard caught by Complex that is now circulating on social media. The billboard shows a picture of the rapper rocking a blue and white jacket with a “P” on it. Over the picture reads: “P by Gunna. June 5, 2024.” He shared Complex’s post on his Instagram Story, on Saturday afternoon.

In response, fans on Instagram made jokes about Gunna taking a plea deal in the YSL Rico case. “Someone said PUSHIN PLEAS,” one user commented. Another remarked: “Took a plea instead of pushing P.” Other fans shared more positive responses to his new album, One of Wun. One fan wrote: “can’t believe Gunna had the best album out of everybody that’s dropped on Friday ion even listen to him like that LMFAOOOO.” Among the other artists to drop on Friday included Chief Keef, Conway The Machine, Ghostface Killah, and more.

Gunna dropped One of Wun on Friday as his fifth studio album and second since getting out of jail in 2022. According to early forecasts from Hits Daily Double, the project is headed for a top 10 debut on the Billboard 200 chart with between 60-65k album-equivalent units in its first week. The album features Offset, Normani, Roddy Ricch, and Leon Bridges. He preceded its release with two singles, “Prada Dem,” which dropped in March, and “Whatsapp (Wassam),” which only dropped last week.

G-Eazy Recalls Surprise Dinner With JAY-Z: “It Was Life-Changing”

G-Eazy says that he has experience regarding the viral “Dinner With Jay-Z Or $500k” debate that’s been going on over the internet for a number of years. Speaking with Carmelo Anthony and The Kid Mero for the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast, G-Eazy recalled how one of his managers set up a surprise dinner with the legendary rapper unbeknownst to him.

“I’m so locked in because I can taste it, I can feel it. I’m on the cusp of… I know what I’m sitting on and I’m locked in,” he said. “I’m in New York and I’m at Quad [Studios] working and you can’t bother me with anything. Nothing matters besides tunnel vision of this. And I’m in the last week of recording, finishing it and one of my managers, who’s a Jedi master, a legend in this industry, Gee Roberson goes like, ‘I’m pulling up. We’re going to dinner.’”

Ice Cube’s BIG3 Lands $10 Million Deal To Sell Its First Team

DCB Sports has inked a $10 million deal with Ice Cube and his BIG3 basketball league to become the first owner of one of the teams. The move comes as the BIG3 transitions to a home markets format. DCB Sports will now own the team based out of Cube’s hometown of Los Angeles. While teams still don’t have any geographical ties as of now, that will change beginning in the 2025 season.

“This is a historic day for the BIG3,” Ice Cube said in a press release, as caught by HipHopDX. “We could not be happier to entrust part of our league to Gary [LaDrido, managing partner of DCB Sports] and this seasoned group of sports investors ahead of our most important season yet. We have all-star basketball talent, millions of loyal fans around the world, and we are one of the most viewed sports programs of the summer on CBS. Basing our teams in home cities allows BIG3 to engage local communities and fanbases and bringing in ownership groups each with their own sports expertise, business, and capabilities beginning in 2025 will allow BIG3 to grow exponentially. I know that DCB Sports will do right by the people of Los Angeles and together, we’ll continue to change the game.”

The sale comes as Ice Cube has been trying to branch out the BIG3 in recent months. He offered NCAA Women’s Basketball star Caitlin Clark a massive contract to come play in his league, but she declined. In turn, he accused her agents of working for the “NBA mob” as she signed to play with the league’s women’s counterpart, the WNBA.

Clark addressed the BIG3 offer while she was still competing in the NCAA tournament. Nicki Minaj Continues Going After Blogger Who Labeled Her A “Cokehead”

Nicki Minaj is continuing to take legal action against blogger Marley Green, who allegedly accused her of being a “cokehead” in a video posted on Twitter. Minaj originally filed the lawsuit against Green, who goes by the name “Nosey Heaux,” back in 2022, claiming that the clip is defamatory. In the latest update, AllHipHop reports that Minaj sent a letter to the judge back in March to provide a status update and a proposal for the case. Green asked for an extension to reply but apparently still failed to do so. In turn, Minaj argues she waived any objections to the relief she’s seeking.

Minaj has also accused Green of failing to comply with multiple discovery requests. As noted by AllHipHop, she, in turn, requests precluding the defendants from seeking any further discovery, preventing them from offering any evidence in opposition to Nicki Minaj’s anticipated motion for summary judgment or at any hearing or trial, and banning them from interposing any objections to the discovery requests.

Additionally, Minaj wants access to various documents related to Green’s alleged statements about her drug use and the number of views and comments on the video she posted about it. Together, that will help Minaj quantify the tangible damages to her reputation.

The lawsuit with Green isn’t the only legal drama Minaj has made headlines for this week. According to RadarOnline, a former concert promoter by the name of BS Associates Company Limited (BSA) is trying to collect a million-dollar judgment from her regarding a 2018 deal to perform in China that allegedly fell through. Tina Knowles provided a rare update on Beyonce and JAY-Z’s twins, Rumi and Sir, during an interview with E! News at the Kentucky Derby, earlier this month. She described Rumi as an “amazing artist” while revealing that Sir is really into “numbers stuff” at the moment. Beyonce and JAY-Z welcomed the two back in 2018.

“Rumi is amazing—an amazing artist, painter, and creator,” Tina told the outlet during the event. “How could they be anything else growing up in that environment? All we talk about is creativity and fashion.” As for Sir, she added: “Sir is very quiet. [He] does all of the numbers stuff, so he’s not into fashion as much.”

Drake Slams Local News Outlet Following A Third Alleged Intruder’s Efforts To Break Into His Toronto Mansion

Every one under the sun have inserted themselves in Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s ongoing feud, including the White House. Now, regular folk have begun to overstep.

Today (May 11) in an Instagram Story, Drake seemingly blasted local breaking news outlet CP24 for the consistent coverage of the string of intruders, which have encouraged others to try their luck.

“CP24, can we discuss the chopper flight times over the house,” he wrote. “Cause I won’t lie, I’m trying to sleep. Anytime after 3 pm works great for me.”

The derailed break in marks the third time over the past week that the “First Person Shooter” rapper’s Bridle Path estate. According to TMZ, the ordeal took place around 4 pm eastern time.

In footage obtained by the outlet, Drake’s private security team is seen physically restraining the alleged intruder. The clip shows an individual pinned to the ground just outside the property’s gate. Not much information has been released about any of the past two incidents (on May 8 and May 10).

The only details shared about today’s encounter was that the male suspect allegedly approached the home on a bike. This series of attempted break ins follow a shooting near the home on May 7 where one man was reportedly injured then transported for emergency surgery.
