Kendrick Lamar Goes Platinum With “Euphoria,” Ushers In Yet Another Huge Milestone

Kendrick Lamar and Drake recently engaged in one of the most legendary rap feuds of all time. Overall, it was a beef that no one saw coming heading into 2024. However, with the “Like That” verse, Kendrick showed the world that he meant serious business. He was no longer going to settle for being part of the Big Three. Instead, he wanted the crown to himself, and the only one willing to challenge him for it was none other than Drake. Well, after May 4th, it became clear that Kendrick was the true heir to the crown as he put up a truly monumental performance.

On April 30th, Kendrick Lamar dropped off his first true diss track against Drake. “Euphoria” came out in the morning and it shocked the world. It was filled with scathing bars directed at Drake, and although it didn’t contain a hook, it made a massive impression. Numerous lines stayed stuck in people’s minds and even today, fans cannot help but blurt out lines at inopportune times. In fact, the song proved to be such a success for Kendrick that it is now platinum.

Iggy Azalea Clears Up “Hatred” For SZA After Crypto Lingo Confusion

Iggy Azalea, one of the largest hitmakers from the country of Australia, is not making music anymore if you were not aware. The “Fancy” songwriter announced that she would be retiring from the industry at the beginning of 2024 after essentially hitting a dead end on an album she was working on. “I feel more passionately about design and creative direction than I do about songwriting”, she explained. It still remains to be seen whether or not what she will do full time. We do know that she is a top earner on the controversial OnlyFans platform. All of this makes a tweet from Iggy Azalea, which is rumored to be an attempt to diss SZA, all the more confusing.

According to AllHipHop, this post on X several hours ago had some fans stunned: “Who’s solana…? I don’t know that b****🤷‍♀️”. For those who are not in the know, SZA’s legal name is Solána Imani Rowe. One of the R&B superstar’s super fans was at the ready to defend her. “That’s @sza mother”, the user told Iggy. However, it turns out the post was a false alarm. “Girl im talking about crypto.”

Azalea made sure to then clarify that she has no ill will toward the SOS creator, “I love sza too! not about to have Stan Twitter rope her into crypto s*** hahaha lmaooo”.

The new documentary seeks to uncover the true history of hip-hop’s foundation. For the film, Nasheed spoke with Grandmaster Melle Mel, Grandmaster Caz, Busy Bee, Sha-Rock, MC Debbie D, Coke La Rock, DJ Hollywood, and more. As noted by AllHipHop, it controversially disputes Latinos’ role in the genre’s creation. Of that criticism, he told the outlet: “In the last 15 years, there’s been this push by the corporate media to say that Hip-Hop was started by Blacks and Latinos. And they’ve been pushing that narrative real hard. And that’s just not true. Not taking anything away from the Latino brothers and sisters, but they came later. And they did phenomenal things. But in the early stages of Hip-Hop, all the pioneers have said this: ‘We was just out there by ourselves. We were doing it by ourselves.’ And the Latino cats were the first students.” Check out Nasheed’s post featuring ASAP Rocky below.

Did Drake Write ‘Mob Ties’ From ‘Scorpion?’ The Vory Reference Track, Explained

drake

Claiming that a rapper didn’t write their own song, especially when it’s personal in nature or regularly cited as among their best work, is a serious accusation in the hip-hop world. Drake is facing such an allegation right now, about his 2018 Scorpion highlight “Mob Ties.”

Did Drake Write “Mob Ties” From Scorpion?

According to Complex, Akademiks said he had heard that it was actually Vory who wrote the song. Vory, by the way, is actually credited as a co-writer on the released song.

Now, what is supposedly a leaked “Mob Ties” reference track by Vory has leaked, adding credence to Akademiks’ claim. The reference track is largely the same as the version that appears on Scorpion, but it does contain some differences.

Since the apparent reference track surfaced, folks on social media have been debating the impact of the situation. One X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, “This doesn’t prove anything other than they worked on the song together. The lyrics in Drake’s version are completely different and way better if we’re being honest. Thank God this was Drake’s song and not Vory’s.”

Somebody else wrote, “That’s my point … If Drake didn’t write those timestamp raps we having a whole different discussion…. Them songs Yatchy and Vory making ain’t putting Drake in no top nothing convos ….”

Of course, given how convincing AI technology has become, it’s also possible that this reference track is fabricated and not legitimate. Whatever the case, people are talking.

Yung Miami Teases Fans With Ambiguous Trailer For What’s Coming Soon

Last year, City Girls released their new album RAW. The project was highly anticipated by fans following their 2020 project City On Lock which spawned fan favorites like “Jobs” and “P*ssy Talk.” But JT and Yung Miami’s latest album together underperformed commercially and was met with mostly shrugs from critics. That caused many, even big fans of the duo to speculate that they may need to take off on some solo ventures. One of the most acclaimed and successful songs on RAW was “No Bars” which was handled solo by JT.

She’s continued to release solo singles this year as well as a few collaborations with artists like Doechii and Kali Uchis. Now Yung Miami might be gearing up to follow in her collaborator’s footsteps, though it’s not exactly clear. Miami took to Instagram to share what looks like a trailer for some kind of new era. The video is a compilation of her interacting with fans complimented by a voiceover explaining her feelings. She discusses being an underdog, but losing her focus and overthinking the process as time went on. While she doesn’t officially promise that she’s hinting towards more music coming soon, it’s hard to interpret her words in many other ways. Check out the full trailer she shared below.

Yung Miami Beginning A New Era

Her affiliation with Diddy and her relative silence on his recent controversies has sparked massive fan speculation. They want to know how she feels about the rap mogul she had a relationship with. After the recent leaking of a video of Diddy allegedly assaulting Cassie she became one of the most recent celebrities to unfollow Diddy on Instagram.

Cam’ron & Mase Reveal Why They Turned Down Mike Tyson’s Walk-Out Offer For Jake Paul Fight

Cam’ron and Mase have revealed that they turned down an offer to walk out with Mike Tyson for his fight against Jake Paul. On Tuesday’s episode of It Is What It, Cam explained that he was nervous they’d take the blame if Tyson lost the boxing match. The comments come after the boxing legend suffered a medical scare while flying from Miami to Los Angeles on Sunday.

“They offered us the walkout with Mike Tyson,” he said. “This was before this incident and I’m like, ‘I’m not sure if I want to do that.’ Now, I’m probably not going to do it. ‘Cause I don’t want n****s blaming me for nothing when n****s don’t win. Like when Devin [Haney] lost [to Ryan Garcia], n****s said, ‘Why he wearing Balenciaga sneakers?’ […] If we walk Mike out and Mike don’t win, I don’t know if I need that type of pressure.”

Mase discussed the health scare for Tyson further, theorizing it may just be a way for him to find a way out of the match. “I hope Mike is well […] but it sounds like Mike is trying to get a way out,” he said. “I know he shouldn’t need one but if they took him off this plane, we want to make sure he’s well. But are we having a fight or not? Is the fight still on? Before this, I had Mike winning the fight. Now, I don’t know.” Check out Cam and Mase’s full comments on the upcoming fight below.

Yung Joc Tears Down Diddy’s Son’s Diss Track At 50 Cent: “His Delivery Was Kind Of Lackluster”

Yung Joc is one of many rappers who has been around Diddy. Several months ago, an interview resurfaced of the artist speaking about an odd situation he allegedly witnessed when out with Diddy and his previous partner, Cassie. After seeing another woman with a half-shaved head, the mogul asked her to do the same. Joc was all sorts of confused as to why she would comply, but she said. “Whatever Sean wants I’m gonna do”. So, Yung Joc also commenting on King Combs’ (Diddy’s son) diss track at 50 Cent is not surprising in the slightest.

Similar to the story he retold above, the MC spoke with Vlad TV about “Pick a Side”. King’s clap back at Fif dropped just a couple of weeks ago and it was a response to all of the trolling his father received from his staunchest hater. On the track, King rapped, “When all they had was 50 Cent who put the city on the map?/ Stop lying, pops been hated on by many men and n****, that’s fine/ They gon’ try to stop these Eminems and they gon’ die tryin“. However, 50 reacted almost immediately – as usual – and was not fazed one bit.

Yung Joc Respects Diddy’s Son For Putting Out The Diss Track

That was a point that Yung Joc brought up in his conversation with the outlet. He used that to bolster his argument that the song was not nearly aggressive or profound enough. Joc felt that the track also suffered from lack of lyrical substance and that his delivery was “kind of lackluster” also. Shawn Prez, who conducted the interview, posed a question to Joc, essentially asking him if it was wise for Diddy to allow King Combs to release it and be in the middle of the beef. However, the interviewee astutely pointed out that Diddy’s son is already in the line of fire because of all of the serious allegations. Joc did credit Combs for defending his dad, but ultimately, he feels the results were futile.

What are your thoughts on the comments left by Yung Joc on Diddy’s son’s diss track at 50 Cent? Do you agree with what he had to say, why or why not? Have you heard the diss record? Do you think it was a smart decision for Christian to do this? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Cardi B And Candace Owens Debate Whether Porn Should Be Banned

Two of the most outspoken voices on social media have been going back and forth recently over the ethics of NSFW content online. From the music world there’s Cardi B. That includes Cardi B who saw Owens’ original post through an Instagram blog and left a comment refuting her approach. “Ommmggg why yall so against porn? Is it that bad for yall? I enjoy it but I don’t know I guess like a 6 time a year thing. I personally don’t feel no connection or addiction to it just a little quick one two… NOTHING LIKE REAL INTIMACY,” her comment reads. Check out the original Candace Owens tweet that sparked the entire debate below.
