Jack Harlow Is No. 1 And Christmas Is Coming Back Already On Spotify’s Latest Weekly Top Songs Chart

Streaming services have become the way the majority of fans consume the music they love these days, and Spotify is the clear leader in the streaming space. That makes their tracking data significant, and fortunately, the company maintains the terrific Spotify Charts website. Their Weekly Top Songs charts can serve as a useful complement to the Billboard Hot 100 and offer further insight into what music is currently making music fans move.

10. Drake — “First Person Shooter” Feat. J. Cole

Drake has certainly put his stamp on the end of the year with both For All The Dogs and the Scary Hours edition, and the former is still doing well with two songs in this week’s top 10.

9. Brenda Lee — “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree

While recently holiday seasons have been all about Mariah Carey, it’s Brenda Lee who’s leading the way this time around: Her 1958 hit “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” climbed a whopping 26 spots from last week’s chart and finds itself a few spots ahead of this week’s No. 13, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

8. Doja Cat — “Agora Hills”

Doja is riding some long-running momentum right now: She dropped the “Agora Hills” video back in September, and two months later, the song still sits at No. 8 on the latest Spotify chart.

7. Noah Kahan — “Stick Season”

Kahan is having himself a great moment: In addition to his hit song “Stick Season,” it was just announced he’s headlining the 2024 Osheaga Festival.

6. Drake — “IDGAF” Feat. Yeat

Drake it used to chart accolades, but this is a major moment for Yeat, as “IDGAF” became his first top-10 single in October.

5. Mitski — “My Love Mine All Mine”

It was a pretty close race for spots No. 5 to 2: Mitski’s song had a hair under 8.1 million streams in the US, while the song in the No. 2 slot had just over 8.4 million plays.

4. Tate McRae — “Greedy”

While McRae’s hit hasn’t completely taken over the US yet, it has been No. 1 on the daily global Spotify chart for 17 days now and is currently on top of the global Weekly Top Songs chart.

3. Taylor Swift — “Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)”

As the year comes to a close and the buzz around Swift’s recent releases starts to die down, the pop icon is starting to lose her grip on the Spotify charts, with just one song in this week’s top 10 (although No. 3 is certainly better than most artists could even dream on).

2. Zach Bryan — “I Remember Everything” Feat. Kacey Musgraves

Bryan and Musgraves’ collaboration has nearly reclaimed its peak at No. 1 after rising two spots from last week.

1. Jack Harlow — “Lovin On Me”

Harlow couldn’t quite grab No. 1 last week, but he did this week. This comes at a time when Harlow could use a win, after his widely criticized NFL Thanksgiving halftime performance.

Taylor Swift Is No. 1, Jack Harlow Has The Biggest Debut, And Tate McRae Lands A Career High On The New Hot 100 Chart

Every Monday, Billboard unveils the top 10 songs on the latest Hot 100 chart. The most recent rankings, for the chart dated November 25, are out now, so let’s run down who had this week’s biggest hits.

10. Morgan Wallen — “Thinkin’ Bout Me”

Wallen has been just an inescapable chart presence lately, as he has not one song in this week’s top 10…

9. Morgan Wallen — “Last Night”

…but two, with “Last Night,” a former No. 1 single, and “Thinkin’ Bout Me,” which previously peaked at No. 7.

8. Tate McRae — “Greedy”

Congratulations are in order for McRae: Rising from No. 11 to No. 8 this week, “Greedy” is her first top-10 single. Her previous best was “You Broke Me First,” which topped out at No. 17.

7. Luke Combs — “Fast Car”

Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” is a song everybody knows and loves, and Combs has helped bring the classic track renewed attention with his massively successful cover, which previously peaked at No. 2 and remains in the top 10 this week.

6. Zach Bryan — “I Remember Everything” Feat. Kacey Musgraves

Bryan and Musgraves’ collaboration continues to dominate across the Billboard chart landscape: It’s No. 1 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Rock Songs charts for a 12th week each and on the Hot Country Songs for an eighth time.

5. Taylor Swift — “Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version) [From The Vault]”

Swift has had three No. 1 singles since the launch of Midnights in 2022: “Anti-Hero,” “Cruel Summer,” and “Is It Over Now?.” The latter isn’t leading right now, of course, but it’s still showing up strong in the No. 5 spot this week.

4. SZA — “Snooze”

“Snooze” is a dominating force in R&B: Aside from hanging around the top of the Hot 100 for a while, it’s currently No. 1 on the Hot R&B songs chart for a 16th week.

3. Doja Cat — “Paint The Town Red”

Doja’s hit continues to be one of the year’s biggest songs: It’s been on the Hot 100 for a couple months now and even after all this time, it’s still in the top 3.

2. Jack Harlow — “Lovin On Me”

Knocking Taylor Swift out of the No. 1 spot is a big ask, and while Harlow couldn’t quite do it this time, his new single “Lovin On Me” still had a major week as the highest-debuting song on the new chart. The song is the fifth top-10 of his career so far.

1. Taylor Swift — “Cruel Summer”

This is the fifth week at No. 1 for “Cruel Summer,” and it helps move Swift into some historic territory: She’s now spent 34 total weeks at No. 1, which ties her for ninth all time.

The Weeknd And Tate McRae Lead The 2023 Juno Awards Nominations

While the next week will rightfully see plenty of focus on the upcoming Grammy Awards, our neighbors up north have announced the nominees for their equivalent, the Junos. Sorry Canadians, but “Canadian Grammys” is pretty much the most convenient metaphor to get Americans to grasp the importance of the Junos — blame G.W. Bush.

The field is led (again) this year by Canada’s number-one pop export, The Weeknd, who’s nominated for Album Of The Year, Artist Of The Year, Pop Album Of The Year, Juno Fan Choice, Single Of The Year for “Sacrifice,” and Songwriter Of The Year awards. Meanwhile, resurgent rocker Avril Lavigne and pop neophyte Tate McRae follow with five apiece. They’re followed by Preston Pablo and The Reklaws, with three nominations each.

Lavigne’s nominations include Juno Fan Choice, Single Of The Year (“Bite Me”), Album Of The Year, Artist Of The Year, and Pop Album Of The Year. McRae is up for the same awards, with “She’s All I Wanna Be” nominated for Single Of The Year.

The Junos will be held on March 13 and broadcast live from Rogers Place in Edmonton on CBC Television, hosted by back-to-back emcee Simu Liu. You can check out the full list of nominees on JunoAwards.CA.

Tate McRae Is Magnetic In A Stripped-Back Live Performance Of ‘She’s All I Wanna Be’

Tate McRae is quickly becoming one of pop’s most exciting new voices, and her new single is already making waves. Tate released “She’s All I Wanna Be” a few weeks ago, following the insanely catchy pop anthem up with — what else? — a quirky dance video a few days later. But this kind of single is a gift that keeps on giving, and the rising pop star is going to get the most out of it. Today, in partnership with Vevo, she released a stripped-back, live performance of the song that showcases exactly how versatile McRae is.

One of her strengths has been the ability to make sad, downtempo pop songs that still resonate with listeners, and that’s exactly what today’s live performance turns “She’s All I Wanna Be” into. Then again, one of the reasons Tate’s latest song has been racking up streams is because it’s a lot bouncier and more upbeat than some of her past work, even if the lyrics are still a little (okay, a lot) on the sad side of things. Tate McRae’s ‘She’s All I Wanna Be’ Video Is A Super-Charged Dance Competition

Though Tate McRae has already been blowing up over the last few years, her latest single “She’s All I Wanna Be” has some serious momentum. Though it might still have some of the sad energy that Tate songs tend toward, check “Feel Like Sh*t” and the ubiqutious “You Broke Me First” for a refresher — like her Khalid collab, “Working,” the song takes a more complicated issue and turns it into something of a banger.

In the song, Tate is focused on some potential competition, who she thinks might steal her man’s attention, and the video plays out this narrative beautifully. In the clip, Tate and her rival, along with a colorful ensemble of other dancers, face off on the stage, dancing their way through choreography that mimics the song’s chaotic energy. In the description of the Youtube video, Tate let her fans know exactly what inspired the concept for the video. “I hope u guys enjoy this music vid that we put together,” she wrote. “I was super inspired by the incredible dance film Chorus Line. So happy this is finally out!!!!!!!!” Which is just another great reminder that no matter how big a pop star Tate becomes, she’s always going to be a dancer first. Check the video out above.

Tate McRae Is The Cool Babysitter In Her ‘Working’ Video With Khalid

After dancing since she was in elementary school, 17-year-old Canadian artist Tate McRae is seeing a successful launch of her singing career. “I always used to say ‘I’m a dancer who sings, not a singer who dances.’ That’s how it always went,” McRae told Uproxx in a recent interview. Now after dropping her debut EP Too Young To Be Sad, McRae has linked up with Khalid to flex some of her choreography skills in the “Working” video.

McRae’s “Working” visual opens with her feeling despondent at a high school graduation party before it gives a look at what she has in store for the rest of her summer vacation. She gets a job as a laid-back babysitter, watching the kids play video games and go for joyrides in the car, all while she can’t help but get a failing relationship out of her mind.

Ahead of the visual’s release, McRae told Uproxx that she doesn’t want to be pigeonholed into just one genre. “The crazy thing is that I’m still trying to find my sound,” she said. “I think there are a million different ways that you can play around, and a different million different artists [to work with] that will shoot you in different directions. But I can’t really define what I do [musically]. I think it changes every month… you can do so many things nowadays.”

Tate McRae And Khalid Are ‘Working’ It In Their Bouncy New Collaboration

When this year began, we named Tate McRae as one of the year’s rising pop stars to watch, and boy has she delivered on that. The multi-talented dancer, singer and songwriter has been on a tear of late, kicking off with her Too Young To Be Sad EP in March, McRae has since released a collaboration with Troye Sivan, “You,” and a gloomy new ballad for Amazon’s Panic series called “Darkest Hour.” Today she’s back with another new big collaboration, though, this time featuring R&B “Location” darling Khalid, who is “Working” alongside her on their bouncy new single.

Tate’s rise from dance superstar to one of the year’s most prominent new pop voices is well-documented, but it seems like this new single is going to catapult her into the spotlight in an even bigger way. On the track, the two young musicians trade verses about their, well, work ethic. “I am so stoked for this song I did with Khalid,” Tate said in a press release. “I usually release a lot of songs that are pretty emotional but this one is just a straight summer bop. We had such a fun time creating this song — I seriously can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
