Drake Delivers Staggering NBA And Stanley Cup Finals Bets: Here’s How Much He Could Win

Drake is someone who has made a lot of sports bets over the last few years. Overall, this is mostly due to the fact that he has a deal with Stake. For those who may not know, Stake is an online casino that allows you to play games online, while also betting on huge sporting events. With the NBA Finals starting tonight, and the Stanley Cup Finals beginning on Saturday, you can imagine that Drake is locked in right now. In fact, he revealed his official bets last night.

Below, you can see that Drake began with a wager on the Dallas Mavericks. They are the underdogs against the Boston Celtics, so you can imagine Drizzy stands to make some bread. He put $500K on Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, which will earn him $1.375 million in return. Meanwhile, he picked the Canadian Edmonton Oilers to defeat the Florida Panthers. The Oilers are also underdogs, and if they win, Drake’s $500K will turn into a nice $1.025 million.

Drake Makes Some Wagers

Overall, the Mavericks are believed to be the weaker team against the Celtics. Meanwhile, a Canadian team has not won the Stanley Cup Finals since 1993, when the Montreal Canadiens did it. However, the Oilers did win a cup in 1990, and most recently made the Finals in 2006 as a Cinderella story. Now, led by Conor McDavid, their chances are much greater. Hopefully, both series prove to be exceptional, and Drake isn’t left feeling some regret.

Let us know what you think of these wagers from Drake, in the comments section down below. Do you believe the Dallas Mavericks will be able to defeat the Boston Celtics for the NBA title? Do you think that the Edmonton Oilers will bring home a Stanley Cup? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

Durand Bernarr Stuns Erykah Badu With His Soulful “BBL Drizzy” Cover

Durand Bernarr is a staggeringly talented vocalist. He was the second place finisher on the BET reality competition The Next Big Thing in 2019. He has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry since. Bernarr has linked up with Kaytranada, Anderson .Paak, and the Internet. And he most recently got a chance to perform alongside the queen of neo-soul, Erykah Badu. Instead of covering a soul standard, though, Bernarr fooled around. He decided to cover Metro Boomin’s “BBL Drizzy.”

Bernarr posted the footage on his Instagram on June 3. He made it clear in the caption that the idea came about spontaneously, and that he was merely having fun with the audience. “Per usual,” he wrote. “We have no sense. It was good to be back with the crew.” The footage sees him absolutely lay into the chorus of the infamous Metro instrumental, adding tons of vocal runs in the process. The rest of the performers onstage are stunned by Durand Bernarr’s ability to squeeze passion out of such a silly phrase. Erykah Badu walks into frame towards the end of the cover, and practically falls out.

Badu wasn’t the only artist who was impressed by Bernarr’s rendition. The post was flooded with comments from other musical superstars. SZA commented: “My GYAAADDD.” The praise from her is especially meaningful, given that she just released a bold cover of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself.” Summer Walker and Rapsody commented with a bunch of heart and laughing emojis, respectively. DUCKWRTH praised the pairing of Bernarr and Badu. “Best superhero team up honestly,” he commented. Isaiah Jaay, meanwhile, lauded the confidence to pull such a bold cover off. “It’s always the confidence for me,” he wrote. “You know you can sang and it makes it even better.”

“BBL Drizzy” has proven to have legs. The instrumental spawned dozens of viral covers. Then it was sampled by the target of the diss, Drake, on the Sexyy Red song “U My Everything.” Drizzy tried to reclaim the trollish meaning of the original beat and flip it to his advantage, but fans didn’t buy it. “U My Everything” has more dislikes than likes on YouTube, despite the star power of both artists. To make matters worse, Drake decided to take down all his disses against Kendrick Lamar. The decision has led fans to do even more trolling online.

Metro Boomin Teases “Savage Mode III” Despite 21 Savage Tensions

Metro Boomin has lots of friends in the industry. The producer has ascended up the food chain in the 2020s, and become one of the most popular collaborators in hip-hop. His solo albums are a who’s who when it comes to modern day superstars. Drake is the big exception to this rule. Metro declared war on the 6 God with “Like That,” and well, the rest is history. It’s hard to imagine Metro and Drake ever being cool again. The relationship that fans are worried about is between Metro and 21 Savage. Let Metro tell it, though, and things are good as ever.

Metro Boomin hopped on X (formerly Twitter) on June 5 to tease new music. He’s already confirmed that he has tracks cooking with The Weeknd and JID, but he teased the anticipated, hallowed Savage Mode III instead. The producer posted a video of an unreleased instrumental, and X user Crew Shiesty retweeted it. “I ain’t gonna hold you,” he wrote. “This sounds like Savage Mode III.” There hasn’t been confirmation from Metro or 21, but the internet did what the internet does and ran with it. DJ Akademiks reposted the X exchange on Instagram, furthering adding to the hype.

Metro Boomin Teased A New Instrumental On X

If this snippet is in fact from Savage Mode III, than Metro Boomin and 21 Savage have managed to dodge a bullet. The two artists came down on different sides of the Drake beef, with Metro being against and 21 trying to stand with both sides. The rapper even got on Instagram Live to assure fans that everything will eventually smooth over. “Don’t keep coming on my motherf*ckin’ Live talkin’ about motherf*ckin’ beef,” he told fans. “Metro my brother and Drake my brother. They gonna figure that sh*t out eventually.”

21 Savage and Metro Boomin got into a heated exchange during another Instagram Live. The latter went in the comment section and dubbed 21 “OVO Savage,” which led the rapper to kick him out. Savage then used the infamous Drake insult from “Push Ups,” and told Metro to shut his h*e a*s up and “make some drums.” This is the exchange that led fans to question whether the tension from the Drake situation had boiled over into their friendship. Hopefully the Savage Mode III rumors are true, and we get this dynamic duo back together.

Billboard’s Hottest Women Rappers List Sparks Debate Among Fans

Lists have become lighting rods of controversy. Music fans are still reeling from the outrage that was sparked by Apple Music’s 100 greatest albums of all time. Now, it’s Billboard’s turn. The outlet put out a ranking of the hottest female rappers right now, and unsurprisingly, the comment section was flooded with complaints and/or talking points. Some fans felt that it was incomplete, others felt it was ignoring less popular but more artistically ambitious rappers. Some were mad that Nicki Minaj claimed the top spot.

To be fair, Minaj laid the groundwork for the rest of the rappers on the list. She’s also had a resurgence in the last year, thanks to a number one single and a record-breaking tour. Nicki Minaj is as big as a female rapper can get, according to the stats, and that’s not even taking her huge influence into account. Cardi B, GloRilla, and Doja Cat have all cited Minaj as an inspiration on their own style. GloRilla went as far as to say Minaj gets too much hate considering all the doors she opened for female rappers. Be that as it may, rappers like Sexyy Red and Megan Thee Stallion have had meteoric rises in recent years. They place at number two and three, respectively. Doja Cat and Ice Spice round out the top five, despite the former being more of a singer/pop star historically.

Nicki Minaj Topped Billboard’s Polarizing List

As some fans have pointed out, though, Doja Cat has had way more success than Megan or Sexyy Red. She’s scored multiple number one singles as a featured and solo artist, and her albums sell significantly more than everybody else on the list. “Why TF is Megan higher than Doja,” asked one user, which was a sentiment shared by another: “Lol in no world is Meg better than Doja.” Others felt that Megan should be at the top of the list. There were fans who believed Sexyy Red has had the most eyes on her in 2024, and therefore is most deserving of the “hottest” title. “Sexy [sic] is clearly the hottest out,” one IG user wrote.

Then the attention turned to commissions. The missing name that really rubbed fans the wrong way was Rapsody. The North Carolina native is the most respected female rapper working today, and she just put out another acclaimed album, Please Don’t Cry, in May. “No Rapsody is an automatic ignore,” one IG user posited. “Rapsody is LIGHT years better than this entire list,” another wrote. “No shade tho.” Other huge names who were thrown out as being worthy for consideration were Che Noir, Lola Brooke and Kamaiyah. What do you think of the Billboard list? Who got snubbed, and who was placed too high?

Drake Defends OVO Crew After Deleting His Kendrick Lamar Disses

Drake has repped his OVO crew since day one. He’s shouted members out by name, and praised their loyalty on clasic songs like “No New Friends” and “No Friends In the Industry.” The OVO camp really got rocked in the Kendrick Lamar battle, though. The Compton rapper repeatedly called out the loyalty of the 6 God’s closest friends on “6:16 In LA” and “Meet the Grahams.” Drake tried to ward off these claims on his own diss, but he addressed it again in a new Instagram post.

Drizzy returned to the social media platform on June 5. He posted a series of photos of himself smoking, drinking, and seemingly working on new music. Standard as far as Drake posts go. It was the caption that turned the most heads. Instead of teasing a release date or his upcoming collab with Camila Cabello, the rapper dismissed the notion that his OVO crew is sucking up to him. “The only yes man around me is my Rolex dealer,” he wrote. It does appear that Drake is wearing a Rolex watch in the photos, but in no way is it the focus. The rapper simply felt the need to tell fans that the people working around him are straight.

The caption seems tied to Kendrick Lamar’s aforementioned diss tracks. The rapper really made it seem as though Drake’s people were plotting on his demise, especially on “6:16 In LA.” “Have you ever thought that OVO is workin’ for me,” he rapped. “A hunnid n**gas that you got on salary, twenty of ’em want you as a casualty… Two of them is practically tired of your lifestyle. Just don’t got the audacity to tell you.” The concept resurfaced on “Meet the Grahams.” Albeit, in a much more accusatory context. “He got sex offenders on ho-VO that he keep on a monthly allowance,” he spit. “A child should never be compromised and he keepin’ his child around them. And we gotta raise our daughters knowin’ there’s predators like him lurkin’.”

Drake tried to deny these claims once before on “The Heart Part 6.” He claimed he fed Lamar fake info through his crew, who were still actually on his side. “My Montreal connects stand up, now fall down,” he explained. “The ones that you’re getting your stories fro, they all clowns. I am a war general, sеasoned in preparation.” Interestingly, the 6 God took down all of his Lamar disses from Instagram, minutes after he posted the “Rolex” photos.

How To Buy Drake’s OVO And ESPN 2024 NBA Finals Varsity Jacket

The 2024 NBA Finals tip off on Thursday, June 6, in Boston as the Boston Celtics host the Dallas Mavericks for Game 1. Drake is not competing for the Larry O’Brien Trophy, but he remains undefeated in being sports-adjacent at all times. Stay tuned for his inevitable bet placed on Stake.

How To Buy Drake’s OVO And ESPN 2024 NBA Finals Varsity Jacket

According to Billboard, Drake and his October’s Very Own (OVO) brand partnered with ESPN to produce exclusive 2024 NBA Finals-branded varsity jackets, which will become available to US customers on Thursday, June 6, at 10 a.m. ET through the OVO app.

Billboard also relayed specific product details, as excerpted below.

“Combining the worlds of sports, music, and fashion, the heavy-duty OVO x ESPN jackets are sure to be a collector’s item. Only 175 were produced in total, and they’re priced at $698 retail.

The 2024 NBA Finals and October’s Very Own logos pop off the sharp jacket’s breast plates with a golden outlining. The sleek sleeves are fitted with premium leather and feature the NBA On ESPN logo while the back contains a combination of the signature OVO owl and ESPN trademark emblem. Inside the jackets are also embroidered with the specific number of the model out of the 175 made.”

Drake Gets Roasted For Deleting All His Kendrick Lamar Disses On IG

Drake wasn’t kidding when he said “summer vibes.” The rapper has made a complete 180 since he ended his rap battle with Kendrick Lamar. He stopped taunting his opponent on social media, and he stopped dropping diss tracks. To make matters even worse, he took down his last diss, “The Heart Part 6,” on Instagram. Some fans theorized that the rapper did so because he wasn’t proud of that song in particular. This theory went out the window on June 5, however, when Drake decided to take ALL of his Lamar disses off Instagram.

Drake deleted the IG links for “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle.” He also took down the audio link and music video link for “Family Matters.” The last of the bunch, the aforementioned “The Heart Part 6,” was taken down the day prior. It’s a shocking turn of events, given how aggressive Drake was in wanting to battle Lamar early on. Drake evidently wants to start a new chapter. He posted pics of himself from a photoshoot involving a Rolex watch. Tellingly, though, the rapper makes reference to one of Lamar’s big accusations in the caption. He ignored the notion that his OVO crew is compromised, and wrote: “The only yes man around me is my Rolex dealer.”

Drake’s Diss Songs Are Still On Streaming Platforms

Fans absolutely tore into Drake upon realizing that he took the K. Dot disses down. They brought up the fact that he previously criticized rappers for being “tweeters and deleters” when it came to taking shots. “Didn’t he say ‘tweeters and deleters’ lmao even he knew he lost,” wrote one user. Another claimed that we were finally witnessing what Kanye West wanted to see all along. “We are witnessing the elimination of Drake in real time,” they tweeted. There were tons of responses that conveyed the sentiment that the 6 God wanted to move on from the Lamar battle because he lost so handily. “He wants y’all to forget about that a*s whoopin lol,” an amused follower wrote.

There were those who defended Drake. Some fans noted that he’s likely getting ready to launch a new album cycle, and wanted to clean up his profile. It’s something many artists do as a means of denoting a new era. “Every artist cleans their socials before a big drop,” one person tweeted. “All the songs are still on streaming platforms, that’s all that matters.”

Ray J Blames The Creation Of OnlyFans On His Infamous Sex Tape

Ray J is still relevant in 2024. The former R&B singer hasn’t scored a hit in over a decade, but he has continued to remain a cultural presence through interviews and reality TV shows. Why? Well, if you let Ray tell it, because he helped to create the pop culture world in which we currently live. Ray J recently went on Club Shay Shay, and he detailed the very specific ways in which his decisions back in the mid-2000s shaped the way that we consume media.

The bold declaration stemmed from the Kim Kardashian sex tape that was released in 2007. Club Shay Shay host Shannon Sharpe asked about the impact of the tape, and the “One Wish” singer didn’t mince words. “How different would we all be,” he asked in return. “How different would this whole f*cking thing be…How different would this industry be… Everything would be different.” The singer then went on to detail the ways in which pop culture would have differed. “There might not be any OnlyFans and all the things like that,” he posited. “All the opportunities like that… Probably more people would be going to college.”

Ray J Claims “Everything” Would Be Culturally Different

Ray J said the sex tape changed his career, but acknowledged that its impact was not entirely positive. “Are we a part of the cure or [are] we a part of the disease,” he wondered aloud. “I don’t know. All I know is I’m trying to make it right. Shannon Sharpe asked Ray J if he was embarrassed by the tape now, and he took a long pause before answering. “Yes,” Ray J admitted. “I have kids now… Everything I did now when we have kids is just totally different. The whole thing is wacky. With my kids it’s not ok.”

Ray is not the only person who feels as though the sex tape changed everything. Vince Staples has put forth a theory that the R&B singer is the most important person in pop culture over the last two decades. He had an entire GQ interview based around this theory in 2015. “Kim Kardashian is a great person, but Ray J does have a part in giving her such notoriety,” Staples posited. “Ray J is someone whos always in the mix. If you really think about everything thats going on today, Ray J is very, very good at making himself part of the conversation.”

50 Cent’s Flirty Lauren Boebert Link-Up Gets Him Flamed By Fans

50 Cent is certainly no stranger to sparking controversy with his online antics, and his latest batch of Instagram posts have done just that. While the hitmaker frequently shares his unfiltered takes on hot topics in hip-hop, such as Diddy and his countless allegations, he also doesn’t shy away from politics. Of course, this tends to get fans riled up in his comments section, but regardless, he doesn’t appear to be slowing down.

Today, for example, Fif took a trip to Capitol Hill where he linked up with various politicians and shared photos of his visit on Instagram. One in particular, with U.S. Rep Lauren Boebert, is causing an uproar. He had nothing but nice things to say in his caption about Boebert, who’s known for being a staunch gun advocate and for allegedly getting some action during a Beetlejuice performance last fall.

50 Cent Poses Alongside Lauren Boebert In New Photo

“Lauren Boebert, Colorado Republican making the white house look good,” he wrote alongside a smirk emoji. Followers are outraged by the seemingly flirty post, and sounding off in 50 Cent’s comments section. “Why anyone would want to associate themselves with this type of a woman is beyond me,” one critical commenter writes. “Sir there is still time to delete this,” another says.

He shared photos alongside some democratic reps too, including Joyce Beatty, Troy Carter, and Nikema Williams. Those posts seem to have earned him a fair bit of backlash as well, though they haven’t gotten nearly as much attention as his photo with Boebert. What do you think of 50 Cent sparking controversy with his latest photos from his visit to Capitol Hill? Do you think he deserves the backlash he’s receiving online for posing alongside Lauren Boebert? Are social media users overreacting? Drake’s OVO Made An NBA Finals Jacket, And Metro Boomin Stars In An NBA Finals Commercial, So That’s Awkward

Drake and Metro Boomin don’t seem to particularly like each other. That’s putting it mildly. In summary, Metro and Future’s We Don’t Trust You track “Like That” featuring Kendrick Lamar ignited a rap war (“beef” doesn’t feel intense enough) between Drake and Lamar, including myriad diss tracks between Drake and Lamar and Metro’s “BBL Drizzy.”

So, while the 2024 NBA Finals will feature the Boston Celtics against the Dallas Mavericks, it has also incidentally become a roundabout sparring ground for Drake and Metro Boomin.

According to Billboard, Drake’s October’s Very Own (OVO) and ESPN partnered to produce 175 exclusive varsity jackets for the 2024 NBA Finals. The black-and-gold jackets will become available for purchase in the US on Thursday, June 6, at 10 a.m. ET on the OVO app.

Meanwhile, Metro Boomin posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he will star in a commercial during Game 1 of the 2024 NBA Finals on ABC. Metro Boomin could have done the funniest thing ever and feature “BBL Drizzy” as the commercial’s song, but instead, the 30-second clip is soundtracked by “Runnin Outta Time” from We Don’t Trust You.

Shortly after the album dropped, LeBron James was spotted rapping along to “Like That” during the Los Angeles Lakers’ pre-game warmups. Metro Boomin expressed his appreciation for James on X, and now, he can also technically claim to have made it further in the 2024 NBA Playoffs than James’ Lakers.

Game 1 of the 2024 NBA Finals will tip off at 8:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 6, airing on ABC from Boston’s TD Garden.
