Bun B On “Drink Champs”: Rapper Talks Trill Burgers & Respect In The Rap Game

Rapper and food entrepreneur Bun B joined Drink Champs to talk about his lengthy rap career and more pressingly, his successful Trill Burgers enterprise. “When these burgers came into my life, I was like, this is it,” Bun began. “This is what I been waiting for all my life. I haven’t felt anything like this [feeling] since probably hip hop, getting married and this,” he said. “[It aligns] with passion, it aligns with purpose. It makes me wanna be present in the moment and learn sh-t,” Bun B explained.

Furthermore, he discussed what he believes is the reason behind its viral success. “Not only was it the best burger I had ever had by far, but it was one of the best meals I had ever had. That’s why people keep coming back to Trill Burgers. Because it’s so satisfying. And the flavor and the taste and the product has been consistent. We’ve broken every record. Every music festival we’ve ever been to, we’ve broken every single day and weekend vendor record anybody’s ever had. It’s not only an incredible food product, but it has 30 years of trill culture built into it. So there’s residual benefits to not just buying the burger but supporting the brand,” he continued.

Bun B Explains Earning Respect In Rap

Elsewhere, Bun B reflected on getting love from old-school rappers such as Chuck D and Flava Flav. “When my OGs show love like that, it’s only right that I be as gracious. I had to fight to get there, but there were people with their foot in the door, holding it open for me. And they appreciate the way that I came in and the way I represented the culture and it’s so fulfilling because before there was any more, cars and mansions and all of that, you wanted rappers that was nice to say that you was nice. And I’ve been able to say that pretty much everybody I looked up to as an artist, looks at me as a real rapper. I’m really out here doing my thing and that’s an amazing thing to carry,” he explained.

Furthermore, he highlighted several artists who are carrying the legacy of Pimp C. “Megan Thee Stallion embodies a lot of what Pimp C represented. I think that’s why it was so jarring for people to see it coming from a woman. I think Club God, BeatKing, I think he’s talking about a lot of the crazy, nasty sh-t Pimp would be talking about. I think there’s a lot of people that carry his beliefs, like [Big] Krit. Krit carries this passion of making Southern musical production at a very high level. Killer Mike has the care and concern of his community and his people that Pimp had,” he explained.

Jack Harlow Takes Aim At Podcasters On His Latest Track

Jack Harlow has become the latest rapper to take shots at the podcasting community, doing so on his feature for Dave & Lyrical Lemonade’s “Stop Giving Me Advice”. Harlow addresses the commentary community at several points on the track. “Have you ever spoken somethin’ into existence? Or do you just talk about other people’s lives?” Jack spits in the first verse. “All this unsolicited advice from the guys gettin’ booked for a quarter of my price. All this red carpet shit, brand partnerships, I must’ve let y’all forget that boy nice,” he added in the second verse.

As mentioned, Harlow is just the latest rapper to go after podcasters. Drake and Lil Baby have both released tracks going after the podcasting community. For Drake, he has taken that even further. He has pursued beef with Joe Budden and Charlamagne Tha God this year too.

Harlow hasn’t been having the best time as of late. He was thoroughly roasted for his low-key performance at a Thanksgiving NFL halftime show. No one quite understood the whole igloo thing for Harlow. It would make more sense at the icy Lambeau Field. However, Harlow was performing at the indoor, climate-controlled Ford Field while it was 50 degrees outside in Detroit. Furthermore, there was little to no production value as Harlow performed in front of what one Twitter used called “a set borrowed from a local middle school production of Frozen“.

This was a stark contrast to the day’s other performance. Dolly Parton put on a feast to rival any dinner table in America. Dressed in the iconic Cowboys cheerleader uniform, Dolly Did Dallas. She opened with two of her most-beloved classics – “Jolene” and “9 To 5”. However, she then stunned the crowd by pulling out amazing covers of Queen’s “We Are The Champions” and “We Will Rock You”. We would have loved to have seen Dolly hit “Don’t Stop Me Now” but she still killed both songs.

Whatever I AM MUSIC ends up being (most likely an album), the culture is incredibly excited for it. He also shared reactions and promotions from Travis Scott, Ken Carson, NAV, and more, and even shared an unanswered DM to Frank Ocean about when he’s going to drop.

Furthermore, this is a new snippet entirely, and is not the one that he shared just hours before that is a bit more aggressive. Rather, this track is a more woozy and dark offering from the Atlanta rage pioneer, with a delivery more akin to his more measured moments on Whole Lotta Red, which is most of what defined Die Lit. As such, we already have various things pointing us in the direction of various past aesthetics of his that he will probably develop even further.

With this frenetic and unexpectedly consistent online activity in mind, we’re sure that Playboi Carti will have more for us as the wait for his next album draws on. So far, it’s proved to be a successful experiment, especially paired with other unbelievable musical miracles like a Frank Ocean snippet that came out around the same time. Is it possible that these two notoriously offline, mystique-shrouded, and tease-heavy artists coordinated to address their absence at the same time? 2 Chainz Has Reportedly Been Hospitalized Following A Car Accident

“Presha” rapper 2 Chainz has been on a roll promoting his latest collaborative album, Welcome 2 Collegrove, with Lil Wayne. Unfortunately, that push to get the word out has come to a screeching halt. According to TMZ, between late Friday, December 8, and early Saturday morning, 2 Chainz was reportedly rushed to the hospital following a terrible car accident.

The outlet revealed that after leaving the Miami, Florida strip club Booby Trap, 2 Chainz’s vehicle was allegedly struck from the rear, causing him to lose control and hit the road’s siding. In a video clip shared by 2 Chainz on his official Instagram page, the damage on the vehicle extends from the rear of the car across the entire driver’s side, with the wheel almost completely removed from the car’s frame.

TMZ reports that although 2 Chainz allegedly suffered neck and other bodily injuries, he is currently in stable condition. Days before the incident, 2 Chainz visited Miami, Florida, for their city’s annual Art Basel festival. He attended and hosted several promotional events for Welcome 2 Collegrove, including a theatrical album screening at Miami’s open-air venue, The Urban.

Moreover, New York drill rapper Donz Stacks recently appeared on No Jumper with Adam22 and Skinnyfromthe9 to talk about the rainbow-haired MC, among many other topics. One of the things they discussed was an opportunity that Stacks had to scam him out of some cash, which he said his entourage was a big fan of. However, he didn’t end up doing so, and also spoke on the implications of him working with a “snitch.” Donz stood by his clean record in that regard, and said that people just have to get their bag in more ways than one.

Another 6ix9ine topic that they discussed was his controversial collaboration with Kodak Black. Well, that was controversial for Yak and less so for Tekashi, but still, it’s something that even caused beef to ensue between various rap figures involved. In fact, the No Jumper conversation even points to 6ix9ine’s manager, Wack 100, wanting to sign Donz Stacks. However, despite this initial wish, because of how his client’s relationship with Donz soured, Stacks thinks that he wouldn’t be able to be as warm and welcoming now.

Whether he eventually coughs it up is a question for another time.

As Tekashi waits in the Dominican Republic, where he’s supposed to stay for six months because of other legal trouble, it seems like he’s building up a lot to answer for. Pink Friday 2 is already receiving high praise from across the industry. However, Charlamagne Tha God thought that the album didn’t get enough hype before release. “I hate that this album didn’t have a bigger rollout. We knew it was coming out but it’s Nicki Minaj. Whoever she’s signed to…Nicki needed and deserved a bigger rollout. She got records on this album. Why wouldn’t a single come out? Why wouldn’t a big video come out?” Charlemagne said on The Breakfast Club. Later in the conversation, he accused Nicki’s label of not having enough of a plan for the release. He noted this was especially apparent when she had to move the release date due to ColleGrove 2.

Pink Friday 2 did have two singles preceding its release. However, both were released well before the album was either announced or its release date revealed. Furthermore, as Charlamagne said, the album is stacked with big-name features such as Drake, and Future. However, the only thing those tracks received before the album was controversy. Additionally, while the album was also preceded by the AI fan collaboration “Gag City”, Charlamagne is right in arguing that Pink Friday 2 got a surprisingly muted release.
