RJ Barrett To Miss Time After Brother’s Death

RJ Barrett will be indefinitely sidelined following the death of his younger brother. Nathan Barrett played at the prestigious Monteverde Academy. However, the details surrounding his death have not been released. Barrett has previously spoken about the close bond he shared with his brother. “In my family, we’re very competitive. Everyone is always trying to beat each other. Everyone is an athlete, so that’s where I get all my competitive drive,” he told SLAM in 2018.

Barrett was the third-overall pick in 2019 after a one-and-done season with Duke. He was a day-one starter for the Knicks but would only make the playoffs twice with the team. Despite this, in 2022, Barrett became the first player to sign a multiyear extension off their rookie contract with the Knicks since 1999. However, in December 2023, the Knicks traded Barrett to his hometown Raptors to acquire O.G. Annouby.

Smith’s comments, and his allusions to ESPN colleague Adrian Wojnarowski, come after the Knicks swung a blockbuster trade for O.G. Annouby. A move they have been pursuing since the summer, the Knicks sent Immanuel Quickley and Barrett to Toronto. Annouby was averaging 15 points this season and serves as a solid starting small forward in New York. However, he’s not the “star power” that championship-hungry fans like Smith are looking for. It’s also a move that Smith has been less than enthusiastic about.

Snoop Dogg and his family recently commemorated his brother Bing Worthington’s life and legacy in a formal ceremony after a lot of healing, reflection, and mourning. For those unaware, Worthington passed away last week at the age of 44, and its cause is still unknown at press time. Moreover, the Long Beach rapper shared a picture of the funeral service on Instagram on Tuesday (February 20), and you can see that he and his loved ones donned red outfits for the occasion. They stand next to the casket in the picture. Many peers like Busta Rhymes, Xzibit, and more shared their condolences in the comments section.

“Everlastin love Beverly’s boys,” Snoop Dogg captioned the tribute post, alluding to their connection as half-brothers through their mother’s side. “Dirty left bing and snoopy [fire emoji] [rose emoji] [dove emoji]. @badabing33 miss that laugh and the way u made us smile keep mama company till we get there [dove emoji] [peace sign emoji].” This adds to his multiple social media tributes to Bing Worthington, who had assisted him with tour managing, a writing credit, and merchandising. Snoop Dogg recently suffered a tragic and shocking loss with the passing of his brother, Bing Worthington. He continued to mourn this event on Saturday (February 17), with many videos, pictures, and old memories to look back on, cherish, and celebrate his life through. Thousands of social media users, whether they are just regular folks like us or fellow celebrities, poured out their sympathies, condolences, and well-wishes online. Today, Snoop Dogg took to social media to announce that his half-brother, Bing Worthington, has passed away at the age of 44. He shared various posts honoring his late brother, including a shot of him alongside their late mother, Beverly Tate. Bing’s cause of death has not yet been revealed.

“Bac wit momma,” Snoop Dogg captioned one of the photos, “[Bing] always made us laugh.” He also shared a short clip of him, Bing, and their other brother Jerry spending time in a cemetery, presumably visiting their mother’s grave. She suffers from Lupus, an illness that can increase one’s risk for stroke. Man Arrested For Alleged Involvement In Blac Youngsta’s Brother’s Murder

Blac Youngsta’s brother Tomanuel Benson was tragically shot and killed in August of last year, a case that saw little development in its immediate aftermath. However, that recently changed as authorities arrested a 28-year-old man in Memphis for his alleged involvement in the shooting. For those unaware, the rapper’s brother passed away after a shooting at a Memphis gas station. An investigation into the incident resulted in police naming Randy Darnell Ewing Jr. as a suspect, and warrants for his arrest emerged shortly after. This is the most recent development following a months-long manhunt that hadn’t resulted in any concrete news up until this point.

Furthermore, Ewing Jr. received charges of second-degree murder, criminally attempted second-degree murder, violations of the sex offender registry law, and other firearm offense-related charges. U.S. Marshals worked with Memphis PD and Shelby County’s Sheriff’s Office to capture Blac Youngsta’s brother’s alleged killer after a short chase on Tuesday night (February 13), according to AllHipHop. They found Ewing Jr. while armed and treated him for his injuries sustained during the chase before transferring him to Shelby County Jail. Moreover, Raman Dlamini allegedly stole from her and engaged in physically and mental abuse, and also received similar accusations of poor treatment towards their mother, Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer. Her restraining order against him expired, but she’s since gained a new one that will last five years. However, when it comes to the Scarlet superstar, the court reportedly denied a permanent restraining order in her favor against her brother, per AllHipHop. At press time, it’s unclear exactly what prompted this refusal or what grounds it stands on, as this didn’t come with an exoneration or excuse for her brother’s alleged behavior.

Furthermore, these claims come from Doja Cat’s mother, who claimed Raman Dlamini engaged in these crimes “several times” and made them feel “unsafe.” Another allegation concerning this is that the 30-year-old male destroyed property belonging to his 28-year-old sister. “Raman has destroyed and stolen property,” the original filing regarding Doja Cat and her mother read. “Raman has verbally assaulted [Doja] in a very degrading and demeaning [manner]. For those unaware, he faced accusations of physical and verbal abuse against both women. Moreover, the court tried to serve Raman Dalithando Dlamini with paperwork twice before, which failed, but they found him at his Studio City, California apartment. Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer, his mother, filed for the order against her 30-year-old son this month. claiming the Scarlet superstar sustained physical injuries following her brother’s assault.

Not only that, but Doja Cat’s mother alleged that Raman “verbally assaulted her in a very degrading and demeaning manner,” making the artist feel “unsafe and traumatized” thanks to theft and damage of property in addition to all this. Also, Sawyer accused her son of being “violent” towards her several times over the past year up to this very month as of most recently. including a threat of murder. Specifically, in these allegations, Raman is accused of punching her teeth out, causing cuts and bruises, and suffering property destruction and theft.

Memphis Police Update Big Jook Murder Case With Pictures Of Suspect’s Vehicle

Yo Gotti’s older brother Big Jook was tragically shot and killed outside of a Memphis restaurant on Saturday (January 13), and Memphis police are working hard to find the culprit. Moreover, they released images of a white Ford Explorer, and according to FOX13, investigators believe that this is the vehicle and person responsible. In addition, they noted some of its features: no license plate, dark-tinted windows, and black wheels. As such, they seek help from locals and the general public when it comes to tracing the culprit down and solving the case of Jook (real name Anthony Mims) promptly. Law enforcement and investigators believe that the suspect or suspects executed a targeted attack, not a random act of violence.

Furthermore, Memphis PD responded to gunshot reports outside Perignons Restaurant and Event Center. Medical officials pronounced Big Jook dead after he arrived at St. Francis Hospital, whereas another injured victim was airlifted to Regional One Health in a critical state. Another report claims that Yo Gotti and Jook’s mother was with him at the time of the shooting, and fled the scene before the bullets fatally struck him. This is a largely unconfirmed report, though, so take it with a grain of salt as more information comes out in the near future.

By the time Junior’s mom got out, he seemed to have left, with various family members giving their take on how it went down.

Of course, this is not the only housing-related drama between this former couple.
